Hello. This Alcatel Pixi 3 tablet was meant as a gift add-on to an Orange (PL) LG G4c / Spirit LTE phone.
What is really weird is that there is no such model on Alcatel's website. It seems that this version was very unpopular.
It came with Lollipop 5.0.1 onboard. On boot screen it says ALCATEL onetouch Pixi3(8). on the back there is a sticker with Model: 8070 and some other numbers, but the thing is:
I was simply being an impatient one and i wanted to have this white boy rooted so i installed newest KingRoot. And it worked!
But then I've seen there's an app that does the magic and replaces kinguser with supersu. And it was called 'SuperSU Me', kind of.
Unfortunately it must have been a very old version (i tried the newest on my phone and it comes in two stages so it's different). After using it i don't remember if I ran su binary update but i think i did and then reboot. And of course it all went wrong after that.
It was stuck at the Alcatel boot animation, repeating itself endlessly. And instead of looking for solution i did something else. I went to the bootloader mode (vol+ and power) which lets you go into recovery or fastboot and i went to recovery. Where it actually says Android system recovery <3e> with additional line saying LRX21M and options apply update from ADB, sdcard, cache and some others.
So here's what I did: at first I wiped cache partition and then I wiped data ('wipe data/factory reset'). And this is mess.
There is no Alcatel animation, no more. Now it won't go further than this boot screen and it would just display this ALCATEL onetouch Pixi3(8) logo until it runs out of battery power. So i guess, that's my first bricked device for being naughty and too greedy to have some rooted stuff happening.
Please, is there any hope? Help?
Same Problem with Alcatel Pixi 3 (10) Model:8079!!!!
You might be able to restore ROM using Mobile upgrade tool from Alcatel. Or you can flash it with phone flash tool.
Hi @dam85 I found and downloaded "Mobile Upgrade S" tool from Alcatel's server directly (v4.2.8) but I cannot make the tool detect this Pixi 8070 model. The main Alcatel site doesn't have this model, so I got their tool from the Pixi 3 (8) 3G page. However, not sure what is missing as there seems to be a driver needed for the Alcatel tool to detect the table. Any idea? This 8070 model apparently uses quad-core MediaTek MT8127 processor.
I have purchased this device from a local shop, not via operator. Model is "TCL" and "8070" in the menus.
@Bethain: I had a friend who had to wipe and re-install the ROM on an Alcatel D5 phone, due to some boot loop like yours; and he was able to do that using the Alcatel Upgrade tool. Please try this and let us know how you did it and more importantly, which drivers you used on Windows! Thanks and good luck.

It's true that this model is buried for some weird reason. You can't find anything specific for this model (pixi 3 (8) wifi), only for the 3g edition that is totally different hardware if I remember correctly.
I can suggest another option. I've managed to read back the stock rom from mine. I could send it to you and you can try to flash it with SP flash tool. If you're interested, pm me and I'll guide you.
Hi @dam85 thank you for posting back, it's great to hear that someone managed to work on this.
For the sake of information with others, can you kindly share info on the tools, versions (and if not asking too much, links here in XDA) that you used to extract the ROM? There's tonns of crap on the internet and some confusing driver versions found here, too...
I was battling with MtkDroid Tools 2.5.3 but I think I've installed the wrong VCOM driver, not sure if it supports the device (MT8127 processor) or perhaps I am doing something wrong.
The official Alcatel Mobile Upgrade S (v4.2.8 that I've installed) has a generic "One Touch Pixi 8" entry as you can see in the screen shot but I get some error when trying to connect my device. This is supposed to allow a download of an image to re-flash Alcatel devices... Perhaps this tool isn't compatible, as you say.
I have contacted Alcatel asking for support....
I haven't rooted nor I want to mess with that. Just wanted to make a safe backup of the current ROM. When I entered (official) the Recovery menu of the device (POWER + VOLup) there wasn't any entry in the options to "dump" the ROM on the SD, unfortunately.

I'll post a mini guide later on how I did it. Also, I'd like to see a user with a bricked pixi to try and flash back the ROM to see if it can be revived!

Yeap. I tried this one too, with vcom drivers up and running, but nothing happened. Maybe we'll have to wait for an update.

Just to make it clear. There is no way to dumb the rom with droid tools or sp flash tool without root. The most easy and safe way to root this tablet is with Kingroot v4.5. It's safe to use because there is an option for unroot inside the app (I've done it several times, it works flawlessly).
I am having the same exact issue and followed the same steps as you to get into this mess! Only difference is i am on a onetouch Pixi 7 i got from tmobile for free. Were you ever able to flash it back to stock and can you tell me how you did it if you were successful?

Hi @waldosdad I suggest you try obtaining the official Alcatel Mobile Upgrade S software from their site, this will hopefully download and restore your device. Please kindly post details on your model, CPU, which drivers you eventually managed to make work, on which Windows, etc.

There's no ROM available for flashing except whatever backups private people do... Haven't found custom recovery either... I personally haven't rooted my Pixi 3 (8) to avoid that exact issue...
IMPORTANT EDIT:
I was browsing through the downloads section of Alcatel One Touch and found that for some reason, they have released more versions of the same "Mobile Upgrade S" for some other devices, rather than keeping a unified version across all platforms/tablets/products.
For example, found versions v4.3.0, or v4.4.1 in other devices, which could imply "newer" database or detection, inside Alcatel Mobile Upgrade S. As @dam85 told me, there may need to be a newer version of this proggie to detect Pixi 3 (8) -- will try it soon...
Hi guys i have the same tablet but i'm having problems rooting it. Tried many differnet apk's with no luck. @dam85 how you managed to root it?

Καλησπέρα @spithash, I suggest you try backing up your ROM now that you've rooted it, as @dam85 did already, as there's no ROM available for flashing back in case of bricking... I personally haven't rooted yet. If you manage to install proper Windows drivers etc. please let us know what you used i.e. SP Flash Tool, Mtk Droid Tools etc. Thanks!

You can flash it with SP flash tool. Read all my post first and then act.
Open the app, hit "scatter-loading" button, choose your droid tool-creater scatter file with the name of the cpu mt8127 (make sure you have the exctracted rom backup with it), then wait a few secs till the app done loading the files, check if the check boxes are checked and loaded with the appropriate image files as shown in the image.
Leave any unchecked box as is. Make sure to rename factory_NONmodified_recovery.img to recovery.img before doing the above process, or else the program won't load it automatically.
Then, press the green download arrow and connect the device switched off and the process will start automatically.
I can't guarantee the success of the process because I haven't try it yet, but I know that this process is correct for this type of devices.
So, you can take the risk if you want (if it's bricked already, you won't have anything to lose I guess) and you can give as feedback.

SMART FIRST 6 V695 MTK6572(M)
(vodafone)
Unbrick - Restore - Custom Roms - Root & More
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY POSSIBLE DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR DEVICE AS A RESULT OF FLASHING!
So, I bricked a vodafone smart first 6 trying to root it (latest update is unrootable at the moment - or a whole lot of messing about if it can be). So I managed to flash a rom and get it all working.
Vodafone do not release a rom for this model so its more or less impossible to unbrick or repair it without the below methods, this will basically turn the Vodafone Smart First 6 into a Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 4. Way better in my opinion as it has full official alcatel support for original firmware, root, custom recovery and custom roms. Dual sim also still supported.
So, your phone is a Smart First 6?, Right?. Well it's basically the same as an Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 4. So we flash the files for the pixi 3 4 and we can unbrick the phone, but then the phone will be a pixi 3 4. Hope that all makes sense!.
Vodafone Smart First 6 specs; GSMARENA
Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 4 specs; GSMARENA
Pixi 3 4 3014D is the firmware we are applying - btw the 4 in pixi 3 4 just means 4" as in screen size - pixi 3 4"
Specs are identical so we can can flash Pixi 3 4 rom onto a vodafone smart first 6. pixi 3 4 stock is definately alot better than the vodafone stock rom, then being able to flash custom roms, improving the device even more.
LINKS TO OTHER XDA THREADS IN RELATION TO THIS GUIDE
Below are links to related guides in xda that contain information regarding this device.
XDA thread by Menroid - whole lot of messing in my opinion and did not work for me - good thread all the same -
XDA thread by kirito9 - Alcatel OneTouch Pixi Thread - very useful, move onto this once you've finished with my thread I guess - stock & custom roms and root for the Pixi 3 4 (your new phone! . . . or your phones new firmware! . . . :silly:!)
Now . . . . . . .
Tools Required
SPFlash Tool, Rom, preloader and scatter file (all files for restore basically); MEGA LINK
(instructions are for this version of SPFlash Tool - do not use a newer version with this guide unless you do not need to follow the instructions)
Alcatel Mobile Upgrade Tool; MEGA LINK
Drivers
drivers can be found in this thread as VCOM, Micromax Drivers or use the PDANet link -THREAD LINK
Restore Device
(well . . . flash pixi 3 4 firmware to repair vodafone smart first 6)
- Install Drivers!!
- Download and unpack rom zip
- Start SPFlash Tool, select scatter-loading, load scatter file from rom folder
- Go to drop-down menu "Window", select "Write Memory", new tab appears
- Go to new tab, "Open Raw Data", open ROM_0 File, Select under "Memory setting" EMMC
- Edit the HEX address
- Begin address : 0x0000000000000000 , Container Length : 0x77500000
- Press "Write memory", connect powered off phone to cable, remember.....to flash with spflash tool.....take battery out and plug phone to pc via usb...flashing on this device is done without the battery in the phone....wait to finish
- After done, reconnect battery, check if phone power on
- If not, return to "Download" Tab, and flash just preloader
- Check if power on, and enter Recovery mode if so
- From recovery, do Wipe Data / Cache , then reboot
- Wait for first start, it takes longer time to boot.
- All done.
Now the device has Pixi 3 4" 4013D firmware.
This method has now flashed pixi 4" firmware and effectively made the phone into a pixi 3 4" model.
The flashed rom was a backup of a working rom so if you want full stock restore, go ahead and restore it with Alcatel Official Mobile Upgrade Tool. Remember the model is 4013 - needs selecting in Mobile Upgrade Tool.
Custom Roms, Custom Recovery (TWRP), Root & More . . .
Follow kirito9's thread and his thread links as linked above as you no longer have a Vodafone Smart First 6, it is now a Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 4" with 4013(D) firmware
ANY PROBLEMS? . . . - I'M HAPPY TO HELP

Hi. I will update file but yes..you got the right spflash tool. Glad i helped.
Head over too kirito9's thread and get the latest root twrp cuatom roms and more for the pixi 3 4
Kingroot wouldn't work for me (just caused a bootloop and had to start again). http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...4-official-t3193624/post65706654#post65706654 did the job, but as mentioned in the thread, I had to use "SP Flash Tool MOD (Gets rid of most errors)" from the first post of the thread.

I couldn't succeed with kingroot after the SPFlash stage. I have a stock 4013 from a VF695, but applying kingroot either via PC or apk results in a bootloop (wipes don't help) and I have to redo the SPFlash to get a working phone again. Strangely, when I connect the phone to the internet it says there is an update available, but that I can't apply it because the phone is rooted... but it isn't rooted for any apps that I try.
Any suggestions for rooting and then installing a custom recovery?

So, on to my next issue...
The "dirty" flash seems to be changing the built in MAC address for WiFi and BT to 3c:cb:7c:3f:cd:a6 and :a5 repetitively. Any idea where this is being set? I still have the original MACs, but I don't know if I can edit anything to change them back permanently?
I ended up editing /data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB/WIFI and then setting to read-only and it seems to have worked... now whether I should do that... who knows!

I managed to fix mine, restored from the Backup I created in SP flash tool. It's not rooted but at least it's working.
If you want to fix your device try restoring your backup.
I had to flash from another PC in the end, SP flash can be rather insonsistent.
Hi, I'm new to this site and in deep waters with this issue. I'm decent in repairing hardware and basic in doing software changes. Well, I screw this one up.
My mom was having problems with her Next book 7 tablet not having enough memory. Insufficient space with less than 1GB. She really don't know how to download and add apps so there wasn't much on it, maybe 2 or 3 apps she really used other than factory ones. I always have to clean the cache and delete updates so that it would function decent. So I decided to Google this issue and found out that every one of these China made tablets had that issue and the site didn't have the downloads. One site gave instructions on how to fix the lack of memory issue but the tablet had to be rooted and have the firmware updated. Then you can go in a combine the partitions to gain all of the memory. So I started to upgrade it. I followed the instructions carefully. When I got to the "scatter-loading" dialog box, I couldn't find the open scatter file - MT8127_Android_Scatter.txt in the SP flash tool kit. So I Google the info and found MT8127_Android_Scatter.txt and ran the flash tool.
I thought I was good to go but then I got BROM ERROR : S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTINGS _FAIL (5054). I guess the scatter files were wrong. Now the tablet is dead hard bricked. I still want to fix the memory problem but now I have a bigger problem, a dead tablet.
Can someone please help me get it back going?

Hi, its [email protected] again on trying to unbrick this Nextbook 7. I haven't made any progress in finding the right firmware in order to unbrick. I have the files for the SP Flash Tool kit but they are giving me Brom errors (4032) (5054). I tried the Rockchip Batch tool kit but couldn't find the firmware image file and I also tried LiveSuit; all progress at negative. This is not too hard to do but i'm banging my head against the wall because I can't find the right files in order to complete the flash.
Am I missing something?
Like the title said . I can open fastboot before ,and after flashing i cant open it.
When flashing via SP FLASH TOOL, I'M NOT REPLACING CWM RECOVERY.IMG with STOCK RECOVERY, why? Cause sp flash tool will say erorr blahblahblah if i changing that.
Used ago, I'm pretty sure if i can open Fastboot when my phone still on factory setting. So, anybody can help me?
Btw the phone have no problem right now (except this one) and working perfectly. But you know , i just want to try something new . Really thanks if you can help me.
My phone is ADVAN S5E Pro with MTK6572 inside

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within one of the following threads that's specific to the SP Flash Tool.

After trying everything related to sp flash tool and software thing it failed. So I went for the hardware thing. I blew heat to emmc using SMD heat blower. Not too much of heat just near about 300. After that I tried to flash. It worked and customer's phone is alive now.
You are using wrong stock rom file.
You need to download the right stock rom for you device in order to successfully flash. To do this open the back cover of you phone and remove the battery (if battery is not removable only remove cover) and find "S/W: v_____.if you have find the S/W version of your phone note it down and google it out including you device name and finally download the right stock rom file for your device. Then flash the file to your phone using sp flash tool latest version.
And make sure that you are using the original cable to flash your phone.
Its not always the software problem
