Remove carrier name "Cell information" - notification bar - Android Marshmallow 6.0.1
Hello
I have dual chip Sony Xperia Z3 (D6633), stock ROM, without root. Android Marshmallow 6.0.1
I can't get rid of the carrier name label information from notification bar. And since I use two SIM cards, it appears two instances of this persistent notification. The only way to make it disappear is to kill the app "Cell Information", but I when I restart the device, it appears again and I'm thinking that killing the app is not a good approach, because I've experienced the phone app crashing once (it dropped a call and crashed the phone app, but not sure if this is related).
I've tried pressing the notification, pressing on "i", then disable all options (treat as priority, allow peeking and hide sensitive content) from this app. Unsucessfull.
Any ideas?

Lock screen notification issues on Nougat

I'm having very inconsistent lock screen notifications on Nougat after the update. I'm on the stock theme with Magazine Unlock.
Update: It appears as if new notifications display on the lock screen. As soon as you unlock the screen, then re-lock it, the notifications disappear from the lock screen even if they're still active in the notification tray. This is not how lock screen notifications are supposed to work, AFAIK and as far as I remember from Marshmallow and other ROMs as well.
Global:
When device is locked: Show all notification content
If device is locked, prevent typing (...) [unchecked]
Screen lock secured with PIN, fingerprint unlock enabled
App specific (In this example, 'Slack'):
Allow notifications [checked]
Display on the lock screen [checked]
When locked: Hide notification content [checked] (tried this set both ways, no difference)
I don't see any lock screen notifications with these settings. In the case of Slack above, I have active notifications in my status bar and I don't see them on the lock screen.
I went to bed last night with nothing displaying, woke up and I saw Calendar, Gmail, etc on my lock screen. Used my phone a bit, re-locked display, turned screen on, and back to no notifications. This morning though, Tasker is now showing in my lock screen (as it should) but none of my other apps are showing on the lock screen.
Is anybody else experiencing this?
I have a similar problem.
I have just upgraded to Nougat, EVA-L09C432B360, and I have no notification on status bar on screenlock. I find it annoying. Didn't find any work around.
Once the screen is unlocked I find the notification on status bar.
I dont want to have the notification displayed as a banner but only in status bar.
It's very annoying. I didn't have this problem on Marshmallow with the VUi Material Design theme, maybe once he gets a version for EMUI 5.0 it'll start working again.
I've just upgraded to B378, but still I got no notification in status bar of the lock screen ( nor aquamail or whatsapp). It might be the applications in fault here.
I just got a brand new Honor 8 which immediately upgraded to Nougat, and this seems to be the default behaviour for lockscreen notifications on EMUI, not an issue or a bug.
Since EMUI is heavily iOS inspired, and this is the notification behaviour on iOS then they copied it. I suggest trying a different lockscreen app until Huawei changes this.
That is caused by the theme used.
Go to themes, customize, lockscreen style, and be sure that you have selected #unlock with images"
I have only magazine unlock option. This did not solve the problem.
I'm having the exact same problem on my P10 lite (it came with Nougat out-of-the-box).
Has anyone figured this out? I don't have unlock with images option either..
As mentioned earlier - EMUI does not use the standard Nougat lockscreen notification actions. Do not expect it to work like stock android. The only way around it is to do one of these two options:
1. Install a 3rd party launcher (be careful, some don't play nicely with fingerprint/pin security)
2. Install Nils Lock Screen Notification app from the Play Store. This app does exactly what you want and lets you keep the stock lock screen.
Had the same issue with Gmail notifications using an Honor 8. The solution I found was hidden in Gmail Settings.
Open Gmail settings
Click on your email account(s) under the General settings
Make sure Notifications is checked
Select Inbox sound and vibrate
Make sure Label notifications is checked
This was the missing piece for me: Make sure the Notify for every message is checked
Screenshots of Gmail Settings
Also make sure you have changed the default email app to Gmail. Settings, Apps, Settings (wheel that appears at the bottom of the screen), Default app settings, Email - Gmail.
I had the same problem before. To fix it you have to enable the magazine unlock after apply the theme.

Notification Log shows strange "Null" notifications along with battery warning

Notification Log shows strange "Null" notifications along with battery warning
Hey guys,
today I noticed that the Google Movies and TV app shows hourly "Null" notifications along with a system message battery warning in the notification logs. I only noticed this today. These don't trigger a real notification, though. I rolled back to the "factory version" of the app and this one doesn't show any "Null", leading me to believe that an app update broke the notification feature. Have any of you guys got the same thing in their notification protocol. For those who don't know yet, you can see your notification protocol by draging the settings widget to your home screen and then by selecting the notification protocol (or similar) in the subsequent screen.
Thanks for taking the time for checking your notification protocols, guys

Disable "Do not disturb is on" - Android System notification

https://i.imgur.com/z6VxtBP.png
It's driving me nuts that there is always this one notification that I cant disable.
I'm running Android 8.0.0 on the G8141 and I'm pretty sure that on previous android versions there was only a small icon at the very top right of the screen that indicated when do not disturb was on. Why is there now this huge notification?
And no, i cant disable the notification in the notification settings (Notifications of System UI) as its forced to stay on and i already set all categories to Importance Low.
With Root access, I'm willing to go to any length to get rid of this notification.
Hey, I'm having the same issue, did you find a wway?

Question LenovoServices is running

The past few updates and now this "Lenovo Services" app is now constantly running. I've tried to force stop it; nope. I can't "mute" the notification.
Any of you even know what this app is? When did it get installed and for what purpose is it there?
Thanks.

I've been regularly updating (Xiaoxin Pad Pro / P11 Pro) but never encountered "Lenovo Services". I do have "Device Service" (package name com.lenovo.lsf.device) which wants to connect to AliCloud in Germany a couple of times per day. I don't allow it on my software firewall (currently NoRoot Firewall), so no notifications from there.

I just double-checked and it is indeed there. I will post a screenshot if that helps you. Furthermore, I'm unable to uninstall it or remove the notification that it is running.
I checked the app, and it has no permissions granted other than "draw over other apps" but nothing for storage or location or contacts.
I'm on a US device if that makes a difference. Someone here must have the same thing I would assume?
I do have the same service running on mine and unable to hide it from notifications.
Time to go play in the Registry...
At least there is a way to "hide it" see here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...ervices-is-Running/m-p/5083807?page=2#5447336
swipe down to see the "LenovoServices is running" notification and tap on it, it goes to the app settings page
Here you have 2 options
tap on Force Stop, it stops the notification but also the service itself (which is probably not a big problem, I've received an update, today, with this service killed). No notification in the status bar, no notification in the pull-down
Or
tap Notifications, DownloadService
there you see two main options, Alerting and Silent, it's on Alerting
switch to Silent and tap Minimise, notification gone from status bar but it's still in the pull-down, service still running

Good info. Thanks. Although still no explanation as to what it's doing or, how it got on there in the first place.

I want to disable the following features on Android 12

The following features I do not like and would like to disable:
When setting screen lock type to "none", certain notifications will cause the device to unlock, like when the notification for the charging status is received.
The green dot icon in the status bar that hides important icons that notifys me when the camera is being used (I found a temporary fix but it reverts after a reboot)
Annoying software update messages in the settings panel even though I have auto updates disabled. I prefer not using software that is constantly evolving and changing.
Certain samsung apps that I could not find alternatives for that keep nagging me when new versions are available (a way to block internet access to certain apps would probably do the trick)
Is there a custom OS that addresses behaviours 1-3 then I might be able to look into 4 by myself if need be?
