Just received an update (not sure if MM) for my Sprint LG Flex 2 - LG G Flex 2

I usually check pretty regularly for updates by going to settings, and have done so since I got my Flex 2 (only a few moths ago.) For the longest time, it never found anything, saying I was up to date. But now I just got a notification saying an update is available.

Is this the MM update?
Also, is it safe to install this update or any other update for that matter when my device is rooted?
I have a backup of my ZV9 system on my internal memory as always, just wondering if I an download the update with root.

Just 385mb, couldn't be MM update.

@jplum22 @kevin3688 what's the build no.? Any visual changes you see?

Yea LG started updating to MM from Sprint devices, for sure....
Tapatapatap Flex2

@gemtin92 any screenie to support your claim? Have you updated with this one? What's the build no.?

Don't do it while it's rooted as it could cause bricking of device. First you need to unroot.

@itskapil haven't updated yet as I need to unroot, but my current build is LMY47S.

If you like root dont upgrade to mm trust me....

Confirmed. I just updated to ls996zvB
Not really noticing much of anything. Brand new phone as of last night. (Replacement for faulty prox sensor).

What is confirmed, that it's ZVB or something? 385MB is no small update so there's got to be a ton of changes, obviously we'll get more info as time passes but, whatever people can discuss is useful info.

Guess I gave your guys the wrong build number. I am currently on ZV9 with the update pending (whatever it is)

LS996ZVB

I too got an update, the security patch is implemented in this update which is not present in zv9!!
The ones who updated can you confirm that root works on it or not?(i guess it will work)

Thats strange that international version H955 isnt getting security patches like this.

Yes but be thankful mm source code is released for your model. Not so for the sprint model. Your next update will be mm while there is no mm in sight for LGS996

My 959 version security patch level is NOV 2015..................................

the build number in that screen is LMY47S, the same of 955 15c (released in october 2015), how is possible that the "security patch" is updated to may'16?
and why the 955 software info does not show the "security patch level"?

Just got update on Verizon, anyone else?

My S7 Edge just downloaded and is installing an update, just an FYI. Probably the one everyone else already got on other carriers.
I got one on AT&T just now
Just started on my phone - verizon..

Looks like all it was was security fixes. I read someone saying it fixed their SD card mounting messages.
Looks meh.
Got mine. I swear my Android version said 6.0 when I got the phone, says 6.0.1 now. Am I crazy? Or did it just update to that

It's the March security patch.
Edit: Apparently not. Even though Verizons page says "The current software update gives you the most up to date Androidâ„¢ security patch on your device." This update is still on the February patch.

The Kernel has last Thursday's date, could be that...now I know to take screenshots of my settings before taking an update .
If anyone on Verizon hasn't yet taken the update please post up some screenshots of your "about" information.
Verizon updates us from Android build PB1 to PB4 on the same day that AT&T and Tmo update their users from PB6 to PB8.
Verizon's current update build is two revisions behind the build the other carriers shipped with!

You don't need to flash kdz, because official build have newer number than version for Vodafone (20A -> 20C). Just connect phone to PC Suite and should detect update.
Mine does not detect any update on 15C-EU-XX. I live in Cyprus
Already installed. What is the changelog i dont know compared to V20a,but as i can see now its mostly bug fixes and android security level went from May 2016 to September 2016. Oh yes, also that message "this version is not available to user" dissapeared. Now we have to wait for Nougat (im just sarcastic, dont worry,im not fool).

Guys, what about battery life, for me battery is even worst than on the LP
Sent from my LG-H955 using XDA-Developers mobile app
The phone needs to be calibrated a little before u can make a statistic of ur battery. For me its ok till now ( updated 2 hours ago ).
Some users suggest a reset factory after update.
This is official update so i dont think that process is necessary.
Good luck!

From my experience, the battery life is the same as with LP,so that means i have to charge every day, even though i have 50-60% of battery at the end of the day. But that also depends what apps you use, browser performance is really, really bad.
Well, I just tried it and nothing was found. Do you know where it might be wrong? He writes me \\\ "The latest version is already installed. The latest version: H95510B \\\ "version of Android 5.0.1 mam

Doesnt matter where you are from, it matters from which distribution is the phone.

Looks like LG has cut off the download pages. Would anybody who has managed to get the update reupload it elsewhere? Would be greatly appreciated.

Got it Thursday.
Hmm...no update for me as of yet.
They do slow rollouts for security patches as well?
Also my status is modified in the bootloader. It's not rooted and is fully stock firmware. It WAS rooted. Will this prevent me from getting the update?

When the Marshmallow update dropped a year ago, taking out my SIM immediately caused the update to be available upon check, so not necessarily true.

I had to pull my Verizon SIM to download the May security patch as well. Verizon users who did not remove the SIM received the update much later. Motorola does release updates in batches by IMEI number, but depending on your carrier, having the SIM inserted can block the update.
So....Is there an update, or no? I noticed a hell of a lot of people looked at this post but few responses.
Edit: error

According to the FAQ page for the MXPE, no. Updates are supposed to be received, even if the bootloader is unlocked, but that is not the case. I was on TruPureXMM ROM, since December 2015. I recently went back to stock using the "current" firmware available on the Motorola site. Even tho it was dated September 2016, it was only up to the November 2015 security patch. I am unable to pull OTA updates. "My devices software is up to date". Moto customer service states that I cannot receive updates with an unlocked bootloader.

No updates on a G930F... am I missing something?

I'm lost and I've found a lot of apparently contradictory information on the internet but how do the updates for this phone work? Last OTA I got was on December and no Nougat nor security patches since then. Checking for updates manually don't come up with any. My security patch is from 16th of November!
It's a supposedly unlock phone that I bought in Germany but is now running on a Portuguese network. Shouldn't be an issue but people have insisted it's why it's not updating. Help me out here, I'm at a loss...

Hi
well the CSC you have did not have the upgrade yet...
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/DTM/.....
And Nos (optimus ) either
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/OPT/
so you either have to wait...or flash it (odin) yourself from another country/operator
Hah! No mystery or conspiracy on why I'm not getting updates then! Thank you so much Max!

That's OK, I really just want the security patches, I don't even run my phone in Portuguese or have any sort of network specific software going on. AFAIK, NOS stopped bothering about bloatware a long time ago, their phones are locked free international versions so I would be on a similar boat if I had bought it here from them.
