So, this is my 1st device with a fingerprint scanner. I know on the old HTC One max, if u unlocked the boot loader it would automatically disable the fingerprint scanner functionality, however, I've heard on this device that's not the case.. Can anybody verify?

Fingerprint scanner works fine with the bootloader unlocked.

I unlocked my bootloader on my Sprint A9 and still have full fingerprint capabilities. It's my understanding that by flashing a custom recovery, that messes up the encryption and you'd have to wipe your phone. There is a thread that has walks you through putting up a new boot.img so you can add root, but that guy's boot image removes phone encryption all together (and I'm assuming fingerprint, but I don't know).

flashing the custom boot.img that he's providing disables device encryption but the fingerprint reader still works fine
Mine is unlocked, rooted, s-off, unencrypted, and tarp installed. My finger print sensor works fine.

Can anyone tell me if this is still the case? I just bought an A9 on Sprint and I unlock/ root all my phones, however this is my 1st phone that has a fingerprint scanner, and if possible I'd like to keep the functionality...
I have problem on fingerprint gasture. When do screen unlocked just 1 time gasture work after that continuously not working. Only after unlocking screen just 1 time work i have updated to 9.0.1.193 before update its working.. What i do i have unlocked bootloader and rooted any dev can help... Fingerprint ok but gasture not working.
From what I can gather,
Bootloader unlock disables fingerprint unlocking. Is there a way around that?
or is it possible to root and lock the bootloader again to restore fingerprint sensor?

I've got AOSP rom on my Realme Q, and everything works great... except fingerprint unlock.
Anyone know of any potential fix for this?

base on my experience you need rooted devices to fix this, you need to pass cts profile. read MagiskHide Props Config to fix this
Its known bugs on AOSP based rom tree, but if you flash Lineage based rom tree, you can use the fingerprint for lock

All realme devices have the same problem, only the realme X not.

My realme 5 pro is unlocked with root and magisk and fingerprint is fast like thunderbolt
Then please give us a tutorial on how to make the fingerprinter come to life after the bootloader unlock.

Hi, ever since bootloader unlock in my Zenfone 6 fingerprint crashes all apps that use it (like Settings or OneTimeInit). Currently running pure stock. If I relock it with asus-back it returns to life, however I'd like to keep this state after unlock too. After second lock I've removed all phone security in case something blocked fp reader from there but no luck. Any ideas?
Also, is there any way to unlock the bootloader n-th time without using that apk unlocker/without internet conenction? I know the relock command but things that unlock it like asus-go don't work.

Oh, I will downgrade it to Pie allright. Just bricked my phone and messed up dm verity on locked bootloader. I prefer Samsungs to play with...
