2G: GSM 900/1900/2100MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz
So 3G only 900 and 2100Mhz
Does Mediatek sell their MTK6753 with missing bands, or they just lock certain bands? Because it would seem more cost effective to just sell the exact same SoC but with different bands locked.

as i know, they sell with missing band.
MT6753 could support many bands if customers pay for them..
So, Thor (but many others) won't support many bands for USA and Latin America.
I have seen that in some case, they release Version B of the devices, to have "world wide" bands (Like Elephone P8000 and P8000 network B)
Hi, thanks a lot man!

you portet?!?
It's same hardware, so only have to flash the Firmware!
Same thing like the ZP980 and C2 ones.....so there must be no porting.
I also have 9520 and flashed zp998 fw without any problem.

it is a port u can say yes because u cant flash the same preloader an yes it is for CWM an TWRP recovery an not for flashtools
as u are talking about an 9520 use another os an u cant just take wat u want from 9520 app an use in 998
ok sorry, don't know what you mean.
I just have downloaded the Stock Rom of the ZP998 and flashed it with flashtool to my 9520

yes same think like ZP980 and C2 thing because people are flashing the preloader.
So don't understand why they do it :/
There are phones that get bricked when you make a backup of the preloader and flash the same preloader to the phone....
so don't understand why people flash preloader, because it has nothing to do with the Firmware!
There is no need to flash, so why flash?
Edit: don't be afraid when you flash ZP998 FW to ZP9520. There can go nothing wrong when yo UNCHECK the preloader, so please don't flash the preloader. In the first start it looks like the phone is bricked, because it stays for a long time at the zopo logo, but this is normal and only once! It remais about 1min at the Logo for the first booting!
In resuming, you can flash a rom of zp998 to zp9520 if you unchek the preloader (It is also advisable to uncheck it when we update the zp998)
I saw on Needrom, the crucial difference between the 2 phones is the frequency of WCDMA : the zp9520 is WCDMA 850/2100 MHZ and the zp998 is WCDMA 900/1900/2100 MHz. It's true ?
because, i can buy a zp9520 instead of zp998
Thank you

I don't think that is true, as it would make absolutely no sense!
The 9520 is sold in China. Asia is using the same frequencies as Europe. So why would it have support for US frequencies on board but missing Asia frequencies. That doesn't sound logical.
Zopomobileshop states for the 998: Band: 2G:GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz & 3G: WCDMA 850/2100MHz
mobile-phones.cn states for the 9520: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz 3G WCDMA HSDPA 850/2100 MHZ
Both the same, both quadband plus US and Europe UMTS frequencies and - if I understand it correctly - therefore both working in America.

Hi Team,
Coming from a Nexus 4 . I am about to buy the Oneplus ( chinese Variant ) preloaded with CM11s . Reason for buying this variant is that the international version is no where to be found in the country. Before picking up the phone i have a few question
1-) Besides the OS are there any other hardware level changes in amongst the two variants ?
2-) Will the preloaded CM11 get OTAs ?
3-) Will i be able to flash the custom roms which are for the international version on the chinese variant ? ( this is a big concern )
4-) How would you rate the phone overall out of 10 ( just for fun )
This has been asked a few time already but here goes:
1.) Besides the "Cyanogenmod" branding on the back of the device and a slight variation of supported LTE bands there are NO hardware differences.
2.) There is no reason it shouldn't,mine did, came with CM11s installed on a Chinese variant, and had an OTA update as soon as i turned it on.
3.) YES absolutely
4.) 9.0 - 9.5 IMO
PS: Depending on where you reside you might just wanna look into the LTE bands situation to ensure the device will work with your carrier.
Hope that help.

Hi guys..
Wondering about that both my chinese p8max 703L handsets now are supporting LTE+ 4G speeds here in inner copenhagen, in the amount of 72mb download and 50mb upload on LTE bands-
useally that was an hazzle on 703L version the lack of EU/US LTE bands.
some talks about that it was band20 ' there where lacking in 703L version in regards to 701, but after EMUI4.0 on both 703L in household I got no 4G-LTE problems, quite the contrary.
any info about' if this band was hardware-present and just been validated with upgrades, since the 4G LTE support?.
on numerous danish celluar- LTE-vendors i got full 4G LTE support. - any app too see what band is in play>? (non rooted devices, all stock)
btw' wicked feature that you make an hole conversation without open your phone, and do all commands on top-of-the-cover and interact with screen. . -works like an charm.. :good:
I noticed that I was receiving 4G last week here in Ireland. I assumed it was a glitch haha
If that is actually true, that would be one reason for me to update, even though I don't like anything beyond B029
Sent from my HUAWEI P8max using XDA-Developers mobile app
Maybe LTE Discovery shows which lte bands support 703L after update ?
LTE is working fine for me as well in India not that I tried before update.

Its some time since, but as I recall it was just OTA update there activated the bands, needed.
previus we couldnt get 4G on both the DAV703L we got in household (64GB silver and 32GB titanium), but after update, it was suddenly accesable on both., so I was of the presumption that the bands was allready present hardware wise in the chinese version DAV703L, but simply deactivated software wise and then got valid and activated down to OTA update.
atm im still on B212 and 4G works as a charm. (use it daily)
I havent rooted or fooled around with any kernel / rom'release, there both still all stock, like they arrived, only OTA updated.
..

I just installed the ROM. I've noticed in the Chinese ROMs, there's an option "LTE Cat6 Carrier Aggregation", but it doesn't seem to turn on no matter if I enable or disable it.
The U.S ROM doesn't have this option at all.
Can someone confirm if Nubia has disabled carrier aggregation in this phone, even though the Qualcomm chipset can support it!?

Trying to figure this one out and maybe just something small I'm doing.
If I flash anything higher than the 11.0.12 release of stable from xiaomi.eu, my sim card settings seem to not work right. I have dual SIM. TMobile and redpocket. On 11.0.12, I can get 5G on TMobile and 4G on redpocket. Past that, it switches to only getting 4G on TMobile and H+ on redpocket. Am I doing something wrong or did they change something. So confusing...
Any help is appreciated

No I didnt. Even more disturbing is that the newer ROMs also seem to take away an additional band of connectivity with TMobile rather than the base China rom. I would of considered keeping my Mi 10 pro if I could rom without this issue, but losing this connectivity is making me get a different phone. Really stinks

LMAO,
Simply flash the modem from your firmware and the issue is resolved. Easy!
Different roms from different regions use different modems with less or additional bands. Flash the modem from the rom that works. I would recommend using LR Team or orangefox recovery.

I thought about that and will try it if I decide to keep the phone... I'm probably going back to the Find X2 Pro... I got the Thailand version coming soon... I'll probably just relock the bootloader on this phone. The Find X2 Pro has way more capatibiilty in North America. The Thailand version has global rom and dual sim.... Where as EU is single sim....
I like that I can rom on this phone but I'm getting too old for it. Hahaha. Just want the best phone for the money. This phone is great and is probably the better value over the Find X2 Pro but the lost of bands especially not working with Verizon MVNOs stinks.

I also live in the US, I agree that you should sell it soon while, it is still highly sought after.
I was within an inch of buying a Mi 10 Pro myself, I have been wanting to upgrade from my current Mi8. Fortunately, I found that the Mi10 and Mi 10 pro are lacking too many bands for the US before I processed the order based on inaccurate info.
As of right now, Xiaomi doesn't seem to care about gaining or maintaining loyal customers in the US or any country in North America, for that matter. If they did they would releases phones with more than 3 compatible bands for AT&T and TMobile. Without a doubt I agree that you are better off with an Find X2 Pro or a One Plus. - Note how those phones have every single band, for every country!
To be clear, there are many things that I love about Miui, but Xiaomi phones offer less bands with every release, and the last phones that had more than 3 bands for the US was in 2018 with the Mix 3, and Xiaomi Mi 8, the Mi9 was released with only 4 compatible bands. To go on, the Mix 3 5G has received no updates in a very long time.
While, I suppose that you could get by with 3 bands, you will not have a signal in some areas. and here is some additional info that for me is just another nail in the Xiaomi coffin. Historically, Xiaomi has supported their phones for 3 to 5 years ( like Apple)
However, last week Xiaomi management decides to stop supporting all phones with SD 845 processors, starting in September! These phones are currently only 2 and a half years old. Here is a source I have no idea why they are shooting themselves in the foot with these bad decisions, but if they go down in flames another company will rise and take their place. Finally, I am sure that you have seen the news about the recent security issues with browser tracking even while using incognito mode
Hopefully they get their act together.
Good Luck.

LMAO,
Simply flash the modem from your firmware and the issue is resolved. Easy!
Different roms from different regions use different modems with less or additional bands. Flash the modem from the rom that works. I would recommend using LR Team or orangefox recovery.

How do I get modem? In twrp?

It's been awhile but I think there's 2 possibilities
I pretty sure that you could just put the modem file from the China rom into a file like modem.zip and flash with TWRP... It's been a moment and I might be wrong on that. You could also replace the modem file in the EU rom zip file and flash as well

You can just dirty flash the latest global firmware for your device ( if it's a global device) Download it from the Yshalsager firmware website. It includes the modem and radio drivers.
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/. FYI the site also includes Chinese and Russian firmware.
Always create a TWRP backup and copy it to a secondary location before doing these kinds of things. ( USB or desktop) Just in case. However, I do this type of stuff all the time without issue. We have 4 Xiaomi phones in my house.
FYI, you will only find the modem file in fastboot "images" roms.

As I mentioned It must be an "images" fastboot rom. FYI: These roms are the same roms that you also use should should you ever have a brick...nothing else will work to unbrick a phone. So be sure to keep it and also be sure to make a full TWRP backup and keep it on your desktop so you will have a way back if something terrible ever happens to you such as losing sensors, IMEI, persist etc.
For example, see my screenshot
I dont even own a Mi 10. Nonetheless I found the official link for to help you out. > Clicking thanks would be appreciated.

Just so you know: You can extract the files individually and flash them.
Plus firmware flashing doesn't affect the system installation because the firmware lives on it's own partitions . FYI: Generally Android phones have on average around 20 or more partitions depending on the phone and the OS is on its own partition.
These image ROMs are hard to find so I would strongly suggest that you look for, the native images Rom specific to your devices.
If you can't find it on the Mi-Community website, try use Chrome with Google translate and switch Mi-Community's region to China, then you should be able to find it. You can also find links in telegram. But personally I don't trust firmware from 3 party sites. Especially Chinese 3rd party sites that often add additional adware.
Also, if you weren't aware be very careful about using Mi flash and accidentally locking your bootloader.
Enjoy your phone: I had planned on buying one myself but it lacks way too many bands for North America to justify the expense. Hopefully Xiaomi actually builds the rumored upcoming Mix 4. The Mix series usually have every band.
