I successfully rooted my H830 2 days ago, but today I followed this thread trying to get some adoptive storage, http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/enable-adoptable-storage-t3368207 and it bricked my phone. So be careful to modify your build.prop file.
Update: the boot problem was caused by build.prop's permission, I did the change in PC and copied it back to Android, but I forgot changing the permission to 744.
Anyway, it also gave me an opportunity to try some method to unbrick my phone.
1. First I tried LGUP and stock TOT file, I got an "unknown model“ error when opening LGUP. It worked fine 2 days ago when flashing the modified TOT file. And there's no driver issue, in device manager I can see "LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM3)". I guess LGUP need to recognize the phone when it's up for the first time.
2. I also tried LG flash 2.1.0.6, this one totally not work on H830, it failed to load the TOT file.
So please share the information with me if you know how to work around the LGUP "unknown model" error or any other way to unbrick LG G5 H830. Thanks in advance.
Are you able to get into TWRP? If so, you could try editing your build.prop through the terminal using vi. Maybe revert the changes you made?

If you simply changed a line in your build.prop i doubt you are hard bricked. As the other user suggested boot into recovery (vol down + power when you see the lg logo let go of power and quickly press and holding power again. then select yes) once in twrp plug your phone into comp and adb push a stock build prop. you will have to ask someone to pull theres for you.

Yes, you both are right. The problem was caused by build.prop's file permission. I did the change in PC, and copied back to android, but I forgot changing the permission to 744. That's why I cannot boot.
I just boot into TWRP and correct the permission, it all works now.
Thanks both for the help.

I did not try it myself since I was able to solve the problem by changing the file permission.
Where can one find the stock buildprop file for the Tmobile G5?
Hello All, I think I hard bricked my phone.
I cant seem to connect to my phone with LGUP directly with all USB and DLL's installed. I had to use Uppercut
I tried to use Uppercut+LGUP and downgrade my OS to the previous version, however it always fails at 11%.
Failing which, My phone seems to be a brick.
When I power on my phone the only thing I see is...
LG Logo. then immediately, Firmware Update
If I plug in the power to charge, the phone shows the same thing.
LG Logo. then immediately, Firmware Update
If I trry to boot into recovery (vol down + power when you see the lg logo let go of power and quickly press and holding power again.)
Same thing...
LG Logo. then immediately, Firmware Update
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

SInce you're already in download mode, I would just use LG Uppercut and load the 20A rom. Let me know if you have any other issues.

Hi! Could you please link me to a working 20A ROM please?
Have you done any aftermarket ROMs yet? Kind of want to try cynogen/lineage but still need to unlock first.

Hi All,
I tried flashing my
H83110a with UPPERCUT_1.0.0.0 and LGUP 1.14
H83110d_00_0504
H83110h_00_0901
No luck.
I prefer the older OS.
I will try to install the newer next time. Will keep you posted.
For Those whohttps://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/bring-lg-g5-to-life-download-mode-lgup-t3565508 want to go back to stock but lgup is not recognizing the phone should try instructions from following thread. It uses lg flash tool for flashing

I've looked at the similar threads , to be honest even if one of the suggestions might work , none of the people seem to have the same problem from my understanding.
So apologize ahead of time as i imagine someone has bricked in a similar fashion in some thread buried somewhere.
But have an unlocked P925g lg optimus 3d, got a few days ago.
Last night i rooted just fine , root checker says it was rooted properly.
Then i installed rom manager as i was following manbearpigs post.
When i got to flash clockwork mod , i clicked the button and it looked like it was doing some flashing , but the phone turned off to reboot??
and now when i power on the lg logo appears and then the screen goes funny.
If i try to hold the power down and 3d button , i get a green screen . However i'm very unsure of what to do next.
However when i plug into usb the phone goes black , refuses to turn back on until i take the battery out.
I'd pay someone here if i could , but i'll take any help i can get.
Appreciate any help.
I don't KNOW, but just an idea:
May be your phone is stuck in download mode?
With this latest ICS (original, not ported) my phone shows black screen when in download mode (no message SW UPDATE and something in Korean).
Did you try to plug your phone to PC? Does your comp see it?
From what I read flashing wrong CWM might cause problems...
Also try to read Ressurection thread by xbsa, it helped me couple times
Don't give up!

My computer does see the phone if i take the battery out , and push the volume down while it connects. However when it connects , it cannot find drivers that it find originally.
I'd be happy just to have the phone back to froyo right now , however i am not giving up , just asking for advice. Will reply once i look at the resurrection post you suggested.

just try the LG flash tool to flash without reinstalling drivers, if it doesn't flash you have to uninstall all LG drivers, reboot your computer, install again LG drivers and flash Bin files using Flash tool, you don't have to flash Bin and fls files at the same time, first Bin file, if there is no network close LG flash, open it again and flash Fls at second time to get the right baseband (sometimes it not necessery to flash this fls files)
or just follow this guide
http://www.technopat.net/forum/android-telefonlari/9128-lg-optimus-3d-ultimate-flash-guide.html

To get to download mode you need to keep battery in, remove sim and SD card. Hold vol+ and plug USB cable. You should see message SW UPDATE and some Korean. My phone now doesn't show it, just blank screen. But LG Flash sees it and u can flash bin fls.

Remove drivers and use the LGMobile Support Tool to install the drivers, if your phone is connected it should detect it and finish the install process. I believe the P925G is a Rogers device? You might have to select Rogers as your carrier to find the drivers.

ok so i've deleted all lg related material from my computer, when i connected the phone to the computer with battery in , nothing happens.
Without battery , it detects automatically , then it continues a loop of picking it up and dropping off .
So i moved to my laptop , attempted to follow the guide kupuku posted, however after getting the went logo on the phone , it never gets past that stage no matter what i do.
I've also tried LG support tool , it doesn't detect my phone on either my computer or laptop , even after installing/reinstalling the proper drivers.
LG does have a live chat which isn't open and the phone number can not be reached from my area.. i imagine its a 1800 number for asia or something as i do live in Canada.
My only other choice is to take the phone down to a guy that can get it out of boot loop for close to what i paided for the phone a few days ago.
Least to say , that option is something i want to do , nor can i afford to do.
once again i apprecaite the help that has been given , and for any that will be given.
edit:
Ok so i got lg mobile support to work by doing recovery and entering my imei number. Its currently at 4% but its been close to an hour and a half. Might restart and see if that works , but my phone is doing the logo boot repeat pattern still , even during this update. so not sure what exactly is happening.
My LG G2 D800 (AT&T) 32 GB is stuck in download mode and I cannot flash the stock ROM to it.
I can't get out of download mode no matter how I try to press keys at boot, etc. -- just a black screen with the LG logo.
adb devices returns no devices found.
Shows in Windows Device Manager as "LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM4)."
Flash Tool finds my device, but when I try to flash (using dll C:\Users\SAdra\Downloads\LGD800_20130904_LGFLASHv160.dll and S/W LGD800AT-01-V10O-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot), it fails immediately and says "Model Information Check Fail!"
It shows "IMEI : " and "Model : ". That's really scary if that information has truly disappeared (not sure how that could have happened though). I at least have the IMEI on a sticker on the back.
I used ioroot to successfully enter root mode, so I should have an EFS backup, but I don't know how to recover it since I'm in download mode and the only tool I have to work with is the LG FlashTool, which isn't happy with me right now. I've tried key combinations but I can't seem to enter recovery mode or fastboot or anything from here.
Previously I was stuck in a fastboot loop but then I re-flashed most of the stock partitions from (downloads.codefi.re 10d_partitions directory under D800 Stock_Firmware) -- I remember doing this for aboot, boot, dbi, laf, modem, recovery, and abl1 -- I was following some dumb forum post in which someone recommended doing that -- duhh...
I would be happy at this point if I could get back into my fastboot loop -- at least I could flash stuff from there.
What got me into the fastboot loop in the first place was flashing the BeanStalk ROM (it was a two-part thing where you were supposed to first flash the main ROM and then flash a device-specific patch -- well, the initial ROM flash got me into the fastboot loop).
Any recommendations? If I were to use Linux, would I have any other options -- I've seen people mention flashing partitions using dd?
At this point I'm about ready to take it in to AT&T (still under warranty / in contract) and beg for help, although I know I've obviously voided my warranty by rooting it.
I've seen a few older threads where people are stuck in download mode and have the same "model information" error in FlashTool, and it seems nobody ever replies to those threads, so I think I'm out of luck. If anybody has gone through this or has any idea what I can do, I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
I have the same problem with my G2. I am stuck at the LG logo. No recovery and download mode stuck at the dots. I'm in the same situation. Flashed the wrong rom and now stuck at lg logo. Lg flash tool keeps erroring out with mismatch model numbers. The universal file also errors out. Anyone have a way to save it? I even hex edited the files and ended up with mismatched bin number. I feel I'm so close. Lg flash tool just keeps getting confused. Is it a full brick and a lost cause?

Thanks for the suggestion but it still didn't work. Here are pics for what's happening.
1.) It's an at&t g2.
2.) Here's the wrong ROM that was flashed. (Cloudy)
3.) This is the error I Gerry from lgflashtool. (Wrong model)
4.) If I use the alternate DLL in op post then this is the error. (Crossdll)
I just can't get it to unbrick. Any other suggestions I'm site would help a ton of other people. Thanks in advance!

Hey,i had same issue but i solved it with srk tool 2.0 try it,it works for me don,t forget to hit thanks
accidently flashed the zv5_radio.zip (which i downloaded from the root all the volts forum thread titled zv5 full update- odexed and deodexed for my own phone, an lg volt ls740) onto my husbands lg tribute ls660p, and now the screen stays blank. It still makes the boot up sounds and notifications as if its booting correctly and the computer still recognizes it, but if i try rebooting it to recovery or download mode, i have no idea if it works, and then the computer doesnt recognize it. I recently rooted his lg tribute and flashed twrp as the recovery.img successfully before flashing the volt radio.zip, the computer recognoze the phone in adb, but any rebooting stops that. I have no way to allow my computers rsa key on the phone either ive yet to find any .tot files or .kdz for the ls660 (stock or otherwise) or any .dll files for the lgflashtool either, cause im hoping that might be the answer. Please help. Or possibly a stock rom? The adb shell on the computer also says the device is not rooted or you do not have permission to do that, please help i read that i may have.overwritten tne aboot.img, but no luck finding any of those either. Thank you
it have be re flashed. or if you have backup you should restore it.
Guys, would need your help. I have installed a rom modification on my G Flex 2 H955 and upon flashing thru flashfire I am stuck with bootloop. Of course I have system.img backup done - but in ma laptop and I am not able to push it thru the LG_Root app. If it were left on my internal storage then it would be fine. But right now I am totally crashed. I have tried every method but it doesn't work. LG FLASH TOOL (kdz) method does not work. Both prog and phone starting up to show firmware update but instantly I am getting stuck at 9% and no go. I am sure I could make it using a TOT Method alas there's no tot file for the H955.
Been tryin' to push system.img thru LG_Root but somehow it seems to not to.
I have this device just a couple days but I can not put it back sayin' I don't know what's happened, please fix it. They won't buy it.
If there's anybody being able to help, I am instantly sending 100 dollars to him/her. I know that ain't too much but perhaps someone may appreciate this and so I.
Many thanks.
Your phone is bricked. There is no way to push the image.
Only solution is to send it back to LG.
You should try to flash using LG UP... report back
You should try LG mobile support tool. First time after trying to debloat my Flex was bootloping. I don't remember now why but LG flash tool didn't worked for me.
What I did. Downloaded USB drivers and Support Tool from LG.com. Installed drivers. Then connected botlooping phone, let Windows do its install drivers "thingie". Connected phone in download mode, let Windows work. Run Tool ant select Options-update recovery. And voilà.
By the way I have H955 EU. Sorry for my English.
LgUp stops progressing at 9% too. But thanks brotha
Huh did it and no go.
I had hard bricked my previous LG device, had same problem that KDZ method haven't worked and it stucked, I managed to unbrick it with particularry these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...optimus-l9-ii-lg-d605-unroot-unbrick-t2964693
There is TOT, DLL files, you just need to extract it from KDZ file and you could download kdz from this website: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=142
You could use my short instruction how to extract TOT and DLL from KDZ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64427160&postcount=575
I haven't tested it on Flex 2, so please tell me results.
Will try and post results for about 2hrs. I've got nothing to lose now.
Many thanks bro. I have tried this method as well. Extracted kdz to dz and dz to bin plus dll file. LG tool uploaded the bin files and I was ready to go but afted initial read it got stuck. The phone on its way to the Service Centre hopefully they know their stuff.
Method 1 using lg up tool.
1.download uppercut

2.download kdz

Hi. I tried what you recommended and it still does the same. I just basically gave up. My phone is not bricked. I installed A.R.I.S.E V4A and it kind of messed up Bluetooth so I was just trying to get a fresh stock start again.

I unbricked my LG MS550 another way:
With phone powered off, I held the volume down button and plugged in my usb cable. That booted up the boot loader. Then I did these commands:
Fastboot devices
Fastboot -w erase system
Fastboot oem lock
Then I unplugged phone, took the battery out to power off. Then holding down the volume up button while plugging in the usb cable. That put phone into download mode. After that I used the "error recovery update" option in LG Bridge.
Im getting thris error "xml document must have a top level element line: 0
