Yea I'm counting the days! Having a landing strip prepared will make the flight even better when the transition takes place. I'd rather have this than a one way trip to mars........Driving my wife crazy talking about me getting this, sprint techs irritated because i am always asking for the launch date.

I am looking forward to the Sprint gn3. But I won't be the first on the block. Can't afford a full priced phone and will have to wait for my upgrade.

What will we be missing with locked bootloader?

If sprints variant has a locked bootloader, that means:
No traditional recovery (only safestrap recovery)
No custom kernels
No aosp ROMs
Till now I have not heard of a way to get around the locked bootloader on Samsung devices, I love my s4 and I was thinking of getting s5 but I might go for one m8 this time.

If you're able to root, will we be able to still flash mods? I need native hotspot.

The international version was already rooted. The answer to your question is yes. Just depends on Dev support for the Sprint S5.
Also if you "need" hotspot you'd pay for it. You just want it.

Root, touchwiz based rom, and mods yes, but you will not be able to load different kernels
I took the following from note 3 forum (bootlocked model)
"The AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ships with a locked bootloader which means that as of right now AT&T Note 3 users only have the ability to flash Custom ROM's & Mod’s using @Hashcode’s Safestrap recovery – KERNEL FLASHING is not possible!
what types of ROMs are compatible?
Because of the locked bootloader on the AT&T Note 3, only Samsung TouchWiz based Custom ROM’s are able to be flashed to the AT&T Note 3.
Custom ROMs based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) such as CyanogenMOD, Paranoid Android, Omni, etc cannot be flashed. This is due to the inability to flash custom kernels using Safestrap Recovery"

bootloaders unlocked cf-autoroot needs an unlocked bootloader to work and it works lol
next time dont take live chats so seriously.. they are automated and are hardly ever correct

Ahh not too sure about backups and restores. I'm gonna test that out in the morning cause I got a couples things I gotta test out of my own. But the Philz version in the Original GS5 dev forum is the one. The international S5. You'll see in his OP, Sprint is there for supported devices.

Yes, working good on SC-01F. I'm currently run android 5.0 on my SC-01F, only a few little bugs but still can be used for daily works.
If you need anything regarding SC-01F, just let me know. I've been tried 4.4.2,4.4.4 and 5.0 for SC-01F.

I am using my SC-01F in Australia and have never even visited Japan.
On N7000 Note 1 I was using AryaMod V8 and it was great. He has just brought out Note 3 version a few days ago and I want to use that.
I have seen that the SC-01F restores its original recovery mode and has some kind of key lock on what ROM's can flash to it and a replacement kernel puts it into bootloop requiring stock reflash to get it out which then a also requires rooting again.
So can you tell me how to get around these problems to get Arya Mod onto this varient of the Note 3?
Ideally I would also like to replace the kernel and recovery mode too. I don't need any special Japanese stuff on my phone and would actually prefer to remove it. Any clues?

From my device SM-N900s use 4.4.2 (gooh)
Flash AryaMod V1.6 TW | Lollipop in twrp 2.8.3.0
and then flash your modify kernel
then reboot....
Success.....now i have lollipop on my SM-N900s

AryaMod V1.6 install worked for me from stock 4.4.2 Docomo ROM and here is how.
Start with stock 4.4.2
Apply Root
Install TRWP recovery
Go into TRWP recovery
Wipe everything
Install AryaMod 1.6 - NO REBOOT
Install Kernel mentioned avove.
Reboot into system.
AryaMod starts up. Takes 10 minutes.
No data grrr.
Go into Settings.
Scan networks. Takes 3 minutes.
Then mobile data works. Let it choose provider automatically (for Optus in Australia)
That got me up and running but every time i rebooted i have to rescan networks. I don't know why it doesn't hold the APN settings. I told AryaMod during install to replace the CPC settings with Australia settings. Perhaps i should have left them alone and it wouldn't forget the APN.

I've been trying to install kernel but no luck so far

The point of a feature list is to see what's inside before installing the ROM and becoming disappointed because it's missing something the user wanted.

It breaks not sure if it was kernel flash or not but it stopped working for me as well all I flashed was Franco kernel and it stopped working

For those who haven't got chance to experience the revolutionary MIUI 8 which was
released on the 10th of May, here is good news for you. The MIUI 8 - "Patchrom" is released today! This will give chances for those who are using third party models to experience the MIUI 8!
Patchrom is an open-source project initiated and maintained a team of developers at MIUI. It mainly utilizes the assembler/dis-assembler technique to craft a MIUI ROM from an existing ROM. Although this project is for MIUI ROM, the technology and tools are for crafting any android ROM. Up to now, with the help of the Patchrom Developer kit, a team of freelance developers have ported 496 device models, of which 274 models are Domestic (P.R.C) Models and 222 Overseas Models. In total, approximately 100 popular smartphone brands are covered (In fact, more models might have been ported). If you are a Tech-Geek, welcome to join the team!

Miui is a patchrom. You make it work on the s7 edge by fixing "rejects" and not bringing more source code.
I have a flashable miui 8 for G935F/hero2lte but it doesn't boot due to a framework issue. I suck with fixing rejects. But if someone could help me with fixing those rejects I could release a fully working rom.

Now, Released S7 edge Exynos Cyanogenmod 13.1 :highfive:

Don't get too excited about CyanogenMod they just chease to exist.
Untill some of the devs there will continue with project Linaro and have proper device tree online, don't hope too much...
