So I ended up getting another lg g Stylo with metropcs, however it came with 10j. Is there a way to root it with that software? My previous one was on 10i and was rooted. Just wanted to confirm though before I brick my phone again hahaha
The reason why I'm rooting it is so I can flash the Google emojis... The Lg emojis are garbage.
Just a quick question before i do anything bad is it safe to flash twrp on my metropc lg g stylo 5.1.1 ms63110j rooted phone?
Nvm i got help it works fine
Did you use Kingroot?
Just a general PSA. I reverted to 5.1.1 Lollipop stock and OTA'd to Marshmallow with my LG G Stylo purchased from Family Mobile. All seemed well, and I rooted via KingRoot, which claims it has a G Stylo unroot strategy for 6.0. All seemed well. Configured my phone, used apps that needed root. However, when I rebooted, I got stuck in the 1003 Security bootloop. Am now downloading Marshmallow KDZ to see if that gets me back into a sane state.
tl;dr Don't use KingRoot to root Marshmallow with your H631 just yet.
(Use this after all updates are taken)
Fastboot boot twrp recovery
Then flash the Twrp.IMG in recovery
http://m.supersuroot.com (to root)
Yep, I went the adb->fastboot->supersu route after reverting to stock. Xposed and TWRP seem to be working fabulously. Had a devil of a time getting fastboot to work with the latest LG Stylo drivers, and ended up having to install the LG United Mobile Driver in Windows and adding it in Device Manager manually.

I'd love to know where you found the Marshmallow KDZ also, been wanting to update but OTA wont work for me. gets half way and crashes.
Please do the reseach before going flash crazy.. On mm you need to fastboot unlock bootloader before root or you will get bootloop. Here is the kdz guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/development/stock-lg-h631-firmware-h63120b-kdz-t3339342. Here is the root guide i used and it worked perfect for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/how-to/guide-lg-g-stylo-how-to-root-t-mobile-6-t3333916. Anytime i flash kdzs, i turn off my internet connection before starting lg flash tools to avoid unimportant errors. The only thing strange with using lg flash tools without internet is the part where you pick install language is blank but still works perfect. Good luck
is their a way to root the lg g stylo (lgls 770) on ver 6.0 from boost yet and is their a way to install the network unlock menu on this phone from an other lg phone cuz anybody who has this phone and who has tried to carrier unlock their phone is aware of how boost has removed that part of the phone to prevent people from unlocking there phone. Thanks
I have a LG ls770 (supposedly for virgin mobile, but the IMEI check online said it was a boost phone...) and i kinda need root, for the stuff i do with automagic and Xposed..
this came up when i googled "root ls770 marshmallow" , and claims it's featured on XDA.. Is this going to brick me? I really can't afford a new phone right now.

There is no root for LS770 on Marshmallow. The reason is because dm-verity has been added to the boot process requiring an unlocked bootloader to allow modified kernel permissions. So if you could flash back to Lollipop you might have a chance, but there is potentially a problem with qfuse, so there you go
