Slim, crystal clear case for the Nexus 6P? - Nexus 6P Accessories

Hello,
Im looking for a case for my new Nexus 6P. I already looked up a bunch of case collection threads in the accessories section, but couldn't find the right one. I want a slim/thin fit case (I know it has minimal protection, but the nexus is just beautiful, I will take that risk), that is crystal clear and doesn't cover up the buttons on the side.
Looks like the shimmery white adopted case that comes from google is the only one, that nearly fits my requirements. I just want to make sure that I don't miss my (dream)case, if it exists.
Does anyone know a case that would be perfect for me?

Check aliexpress and eBay. From Aliexpress I got a case... think the brand is Lenuvo or something like that, for a few bucks. It is entirely gel TPU, and I got the slightly smoked color to hide dirt better, but it is still very true to my aluminum 6P's color. It is the thinnest case I own compared to the several others I have. It does cover the buttons though, but provides good feedback.
I also have a frosted clear plastic shell, a lot like the Spigen thin fit I got on eBay for a few bucks. It doesn't cover the buttons or anything, but I just didn't like it that much. I prefer either the Spigen thin fit, the BearMotion sandstone thin fit, or the Cimo smoked matte gel tpu when I need a little more protection.

Well I have the Matte black Case From Diztronic...Its perfect to me...feels great...fits right and looks very good...but just pick the case you like best my friend bcuz thats all that matters...
I was on their site for a brief moment after seeing the review for the TPU case (ordered one, it looks like a good case!) and saw the hard case as an option, so checked out the pictures.
Biggest difference is that being a hard case, it can't flex to put the phone in, so the top/bottom bits are missing like many other cases. That was the biggest reason I went for the TPU since it has protection all around.
Tpu vs hard case.
TPU is a tad thicker, but provides more protection. All corners are covered.
Hardcase is thinner and does not provide coverage on the top of the phone and bottom.
I have the TPU, and hardcase coming in on Monday. I opted for the hardcase because of the option to put it into my GNex Seidio Surface case. The tpu is too thick and makes the phone too long to fit so hoping this will fit and be my weekend warrior.
Saying all that, I currently got my LG Nexus Bumper. And I have to say I do like it a lot. I actually had one but since sold it when I first got the phone because using the bumper, the phone would not fit in any of my universal cases at the time.
I got the Diztronic tpu and had that and was quite happy with it. Seeing a few threads about the Seidio holster possibility, I went and bought the hard case because I already have the Seidio Surface spring holster. Between all of that happening, I finally got my bumper case and fell in love with the bumper all over again. Thinking I was going to sell it again because I couldn't find a decent holster to house the phone, I tried putting the phone with the bumper into my universal vertical belt holster which fit the phone and tpu case.
To my disbelief and amazement, the phone actually fit! The Diztronic stretched the the case enough where the bumper can pretty much slide in without an issue!
Well sorry for the long a$$ story, but this is what I had personally gone through so far. Not to mention getting yet another case, the Nillkin flip case. Not sure if I am going to keep it though. I may just sell it to another person here or ebay.

Dustin,
Like your reviews, thanks!
Have you come across a case that snaps in to a clip holster like a Seidio Surface or Dilex?
Thanks,

My Orzly Flexislim will arrive tomorrow. It almost 4X more expensive frm my current Nilkin Nature case. Nilkin is good but i missed Simplism Ultrathin for Z1. The material is perfect & super thin. For Z2 & later device, they changed with shame disappointing material. Lets see how good orzly really is
⚅ χρєʀια™ z5
Orzly Flexislim is the best thinnest case so far!
✓ χρєʀια™ z5
Has anyone put one of the flexislim cases on the Green Z5? I'm wondering how it looks
From orzly cases i will only consider the fusion bumper in black if i don't mind covering the sides because it seems like there are better cases for preserving more of the beauty of sony design. Fusion bumper clear sides are matte, not transparent and the thinner one is all matte. For all transparency it seems that spigen ultra hybrid clear or spigen liquid crystal (thinner but with less protection) are better options.
Thanks for the advice! I have one very much like the fusion bumper but with clear sides. It's OK, but the back plastic picks up so much fingerprints. I was considering the Orzly matte "smoke white" one as it sort of looks like the colour might still show through to a certain degree. With the clear one with all the reflections and fingerprints you don't notice the colour too much, especially with the gel part being a little bit rounded. Also I don't really like the feel of gel or plastic, I assume the matte one has a slightly matte feel to it which I might like. I might just have to take the plunge and get one and see how it goes.
Anyone get the Spigen cases for the Z5?

I didnt buy any spigen cases. Those guys are not what they used to be and i dnt feel there cases are that good
I have brought the flexicase shown in the above video. The case fits perfectly and my phone still looks very slim whilst giving it some protection against knocks and scratch's. I would highly recommend it
Please can you tell us how does the real product look like? As you can see in the photo on the official site the cut on the back camera is different from the cut shown on every other site, like Amazon, where the cut gets an oval triangular shape. slimmest case

Whats the slimmest case you guys have came across...all I basically want is scratch protection.
I dont like cases, but always try to find the slimmest one possible...for instance, totalle makes a case for the iphone called the scarf thats paper thin.
any comments will be appreciated.
thanks
I bought the adopted one and awaiting the spigen case for the 6P. I think if you want thin, the Google case/Adopted case will probably work best for you. It is really thin and makes the case more grippy although I have heard that some cases may block the laser autofocus on the camera. Ringke also offers a very thin case but I've only had it for my Xperia. If you are patient, wait a month and there should be some more detailed reviews on the cases. If not, out of the available cases, the Google ones seem to be the most popular thin cases. Wish you the best in your search.
Get a skin. Slickwraps has them for $10 and you can use "xda" for a discount code.

I too bought the Adopted case from google but it is not a slim case. it adds bulk so i'm looking for a new slim case. Thinking of getting one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Google-Huawei...&qid=1447104935&sr=1-1&keywords=nexus+6p+slim
http://www.amazon.com/DGtle-Anti-Sc...&qid=1447104935&sr=1-2&keywords=nexus+6p+slim
Try J&D tpu case from Amazon. I got it and its much thinner than I expected.
Can anybody comment on the J&D case vs Diztronic, Tudia, DGtle? If J&D truly is thinner than those, then I'll grab one as well.
Another slim one is the Tudia case on Amazon.
Im also looking for a super slim case. Something like an Orzly FlexiSlim (I hope they make it for the 6p, they did one for the 2014 Nexus 6) or a Caufabe Veil XT. Something .0.3mm or 0.5mm thin with a soft semitransparent finish. Has anyone found anything?
If you're going with the skin option, definitely go with dbrand, way better quality.

Agreed there on skins. If I go skin, I *always* go dbrand.
If you want something more than traditional TPU then the Verus case is a good option. It's the thinnest non-TPU case I've ever had for a phone (well, aside from the super thin hard plastic that always cracks after 3 weeks).
I went with this slim case from Kugi: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014ZJ0538
Thin enough for my liking (doesnt really add too much more to the phone), there are cutaways for the buttons (no actual rubber material on the buttons like the adopted case), and the top and bottom of the case are left open so you dont have to worry about a charger or headphone adapter being too big. And it's cheap.

I ordered that one also. Should get here in a here days. I had it for my Galaxy s6 and my HTC One M8 and they were lovely. Very little bulk, excellent grip, and enough protection for my purposes.

I ordered and received one of these in gold. It does have a soft touch finish, but at the same time seems to show fingerprint smudges. It is pretty thin, although not as thin as the 0.01 inch or 0.35 mm type cases that are available for other phones. The overall finish/quality of is also somewhat cheap with the cutout for the camera assembly showing leftover plastic. It'll do for now.
You could go with a dBrand skin, or a Spigen Thin Fit or the IMAK case. Those look like the thinnest cases for the 6P so far.

Ah yeah, looks like you may have got a little unlucky with that cutout. I just double checked my cutouts and edges and can say mine look pretty clean cut. I do agree with the fingerprint smudges too, but oil on a matte finish (I went with matte black) is a bit expected so I cant complain too much about that.

That's the Flexicase, not the Flexislim (yeah, I know!) - it's quite a bit thicker.

Oh really? I had no idea.
This case is very slim, I cant imagine it could get much thinner.
MoKo case is pretty thin. MUCH thinner than the Verus.

What case do you use on Nexus 6P?

Hey guys. I just decided to try Nexus 6P. Looking for some great cases to protect it! But also I don't wanna spoil the original look of it since the design's so unique and beautiful!Just got two clear cases for my former Nexus 6 from AMZ and looks wonderful, yet the clear case get darken yellowed after few weeks using, so just share your N6P case experience here and enjoy!
Long response incoming:
I initially bought a official microfibre Adopted case (in carbon) from Google along with my N6P (aluminium). I paid full price for it, but I thought it was worth the premium for an official case and the design was cool and unique. Massively underwhelmed when I received it, because it's nothing more than a generic TPU case with a thin "sticker" of microfibre on the back, which I sensed would be prone to staining and, over time, peeling. The fit was also really tight and button presses weren't that responsive. I decided in the end that the Nexus branding wasn't worth the premium, so I returned it.
I then ordered a charcoal Diztronic case. I've had good experiences with Diztronic in the past, having used their case on my Galaxy Nexus as a daily driver. It was cheaper than the Spigen Rugged Armor and I appreciated the minimalist aesthetic, not being a fan of the faux carbon fibre pattern on the Spigen. The fit and finish was great, and the buttons were clicky and responsive. My only minor niggle was the cutout for the camera sensor wasn't completely accurate, as it cut off part of the circle surrounding the sensor (100% an aesthetic oversight with no impact on function).
I then bought a Speck Candyshell Grip (in white) during the Black Friday sale, when it was 50% off. Definitely my favourite case of the three I've tested so far. It provides the most protection (being a dual-layer silicone and polycarbonate hybrid), looks striking, and, as the name implies, provides a ton of grip.
I've had a Speck Candyshell on my iPod touch and over 4 years later, it's still kept my iPod in perfect condition. The case itself is scratched up and turned a bit off-white, but I haven't exactly been gentle with it (having taken it traveling and camping) so I'm confident in its protective capabilities.
I'll likely be rocking the Speck case as my daily driver for the time being, and I'll only swap back to the Diztronic when I want a more toned-down look and slimmer profile (maybe if I'm at a fancy event wearing slacks).
Finally, I also pre-ordered a white Crash Guard + Project S from Evolutive Labs when they offered 25% off the first 50 pre-orders. IMO this would be the solution to preserving the Nexus's original design and aesthetics, while still providing a lot of protection (if the demo videos are any indication). I have no idea what Project S is, though (hopefully some kind of transparent skin, though they said it wasn't going to be made of the same material as the Rhino Shield).
I have a tempered glass screen protector from intelliARMOR protecting the front (second generation/first revision, the model prior to production of the two distinct "case-friendly" and "edge to edge" versions). It's been fine with both the Diztronic and Speck cases, though I'm curious as to whether the edge-to-edge versions might also be compatible with the Speck and Crash Guard, as there's just 1 mm between the edges of the cases and screen protector, where I find dust and grease can get trapped in between.
If you're looking for clear cases, there're Spigen's Ultra Hybrid and Neo Hybrid EX cases. The Ultra Hybrid is a single-layer case with a clear polycarbonate back framed by TPU along the edges. I wouldn't recommend it personally because I've heard that clear TPU will stain over time (as likely what happened to your original case), and the visor is completely exposed and thus prone to scratches.
The Neo Hybrid EX consists of 2 pieces: a clear TPU shell and a coloured polycarbonate bumper (essentially, the reverse of the Ultra Hybrid). It looks to be the best clear case I've seen in terms of protection (as the visor is actually covered), but I don't know how the clear TPU will fare over time, whether it will also be prone to staining. I'd wait on reviews for this case before ordering, and for it to be listed on Spigen's Amazon store, which will likely be cheaper than buying it off their main website or eBay store.
To be honest it's the first device that I don't have a case for it although I have a tampered glass and a pouch. But I'm waiting for some skins from dbrand and a wooden skin from toastmade.
Tapatalked with my Nexus 6P
I got the carbon cloth backed Nexus 6P case originally and I really like the look and feel of it, but it's not the most protective. The only issue I've had with it is taking screenshots (the case presses buttons you don't mean to) and it wouldn't work with a tempered glass screen protector (it peels it up).
On the black Friday I got the Speck CandyShell in black/slate and I'm digging it. It's more protective and it makes the button presses a little harder, which I like. I would think it'd work with a glass screen protector as the bezels don't intrude onto the glass very much.
I use a Supcase Unicorn Beetle Hybrid as my standard case. I usually slide it in my pants or jacket pocket. I do wish there was a belt clip for the Beetle Hybrid, but to get a belt clip case combo you typically are into something much thicker and substantial that is, for me, unnecessary. When I'm wearing a suit, I use it bare and carry it in a Story Leather belt clip holster made for the iPhone 6s Plus. The phone has a Skinomi Tech Glass protector on it.
My experience mirrors LuckyDragan a little bit.
My first case was the microfiber case from the Google store. While it looked nice and the in hand feel was decent, I felt it cost way too much for what it was. I ended up returning it because when I pressed the edge of the case by the buttons it would change the volume. Not cool for a $35 case.
Next case is the reg. Adopted case. It's not bad. I really like the textured sides. It's also fairly narrow. Thing is, I paid $10 for it, at the reg. price of $20, I'm not sure if it's worth it. By the pics I've seen, I think it looks better than the Diztronic, especially the fingerprint cut out.
3rd case is the Spigen Rugged Armor. Except for the camera cut out (I don't like how it doesn't leave room for the blueish oval), I think it looks the best of all the cases I've tried so far. My nags are that It's all little wide and slippery. At $13.00?, it's a good buy.
4th case is the Speck Grip. My favorite so far. It's not as thin as the other cases but not bulky. The grip is awesome, no problem using the phone with one hand. At first glance, I didn't think it was the best looking case, but it's starting to grow on me. The protection and how it makes the phone so much easier to handle makes it a winner. @ $20 I paid during the Google store's sale, I think it's worth it. @ the reg. price of $40, idk.
If haven't yet, check out Pilz review thread, so much good info.
White Speck case as my daily driver.
I have tried the Diztronic one, while it does provide protection, did not like how loose the edges felt, definitely not as snug and stiff as my Diztronic Ultra that is on my GS6. It easily bent out edges for my taste, and thought of getting some debris that could scratch up the phone was bugging me somewhat. If you need a very minimalist, fingerprint resistant, and decent lip for screen protection, that is the case to have.
Also have the Supcase Unicorn Hybrid Ultra. great case, snug and firmer edges than the Diztronic one, but damn, is that case slippery. I have a habit of placing the phone on my car seat, and that thing just slides around like a hockey puck on ice when placed on its back. Placing it face down did help... still preferred it over the Diztronic.
But snagged the White Speck Candy Shell Grip case at 50% off, love it. Excellent grip, very tight and solid felling edges, does not slide when placed on a my car seat. Wished they offered a matt finish white version of this, since I am not a fan of shiny cases, but the black rubber lines offset it enough to be likable for me. Sporting the Orzly TGSP,with that case there is a minimal space between the glass and the edges of the case, nearly perfect sealed fit. Hoping the intelliglass ones are a bit more of an coverage so that it could have a near gapless glass to case seal, still waiting on receiving mine...
Currently have the Tudia case which is brill, but also got the Spigen rugged case coming.
Official microfiber case in carbon. No screenshot issues or button issues in general. I love the soft fabric feel. Feels more "welcoming" than the cold, hard plastic/TPU of other cases I've used. Regarding durability, I'm a little concerned, but only time will tell how the microfiber will hold up.
Smoked Ringke fusion is my case of choice, at least for now. I also have the Orzly flexicase and Spigen rugged armor. Don't really care for either of those.
Anyone want to trade a case for the spigen rugged armor? mint condition and hasn't been used other than trying it on once.

I'm also using this case and think it's a good balance of fitting, protection, minimal bulk, etc all for a low price. I bought it off Amazon for $11 but unfortunately it's been outta stock for the past month or so. I wished they had a clear case instead of smoke coloring though.

Yeah, not sure about amazon, but I bought mine from that ebay link. Pretty sure they are the actual sellers.
The Spigen rugged arrived today and it is SOOOO much nicer than the Tudia one. Better fit and feels nicer and more secure.

I've had a few cases so far.
SR Tech - Typical TPU case. Decent protection. Cutouts were slightly off. Total fingerprint/oil magnet. Got real slippery after a week or so of use and required a wipe down. Did not interfere with my Pleson TGSP.
Spigen Rugged Armor - Soft touch finish felt really good in hand. Very good protection at the sacrifice of some added bulk. Cutouts were precise and buttons had a nice tactile feel. Soft touch got some smudges on it occasionally but not nearly as bad as the SR case. Did not interfere with my Pleson TGSP but it was really close.
Spigen Thin Fit - Very interesting finish on this case. Kinda felt like the back of the Nexus 6. Fingerprints weren't really a problem but oil/smudging was. Case snapped on snugly and provided good protection for the covered areas. Top and bottom of the phone were exposed. Did not interfere with my Pleson TGSP.
Nillkin Nature - This is my daily driver. Pretty much the same as the SR Tech, only about half the thickness. Cutouts are more precise and there is a cover for the Type C port, which I really like. This is literally the thinnest case I've ever used and it really helps make the already large 6P more manageable in the hand. I wish it came in a matte finish so oil/fingerprints weren't so much of an issue, but other than that I'm happy.
Adopted for now until bumpers start arriving and be reviewed.
Ringke smoke and Google Microfiber. Like both and switch weekely

I switch from the official google carbon case and spigen ultra hybrid. They are great cases but the buttons on both aren't the best. I also have speck case but I use it for when I go to the gym. Diztronic case is nice but phone feels loose inside and verus case.. Its whatever.

Bumpers: Metal? Rubber other than Hula? Clear backed?

Today I just picked up a mint condition Moto X 2014, customized on top of customized. Black face with black front accents and a bamboo back with a silver frame and silver rear accents. I couldn't ask for a better color combination. Now I'm having trouble picking out a case. Of course I want the bamboo to show, but I also want to keep the metal from getting dinged up. And even more so, I want to protect the glass edges on the front. I'd like to get a bumper, but Hula is the only backless rubber bumper I've found. Unfortunately, nobody has them in black at the moment, and I don't like the colors that are currently available. I also don't like the look of the 100% clear rubber cases on a black face.
So, has anybody tried one of the metal bumpers found all over eBay? I like the look but I'm concerned that a metal bumper on the metal frame would cause scratches. Or even worse, if the metal bumper were to abrade against the wood back there could be scratches or gouges in the finish. Any experience or opinions here?
Also, does anybody know of a rubber bumper case with an open back besides the Hula? Or even better, a rubber case that has black edges and a full clear back? I'll probably end up getting a Supcase Unicorn Beetle for now because that's as close as I can find. But the back of the Supcase is opaque, not fully clear, and it has colored grip areas that intrude into the wood space on the sides of the back. I looked at the Poetic Affinity, but that looks too industrial for me. Especially when compared to the seriously awesome look of the naked Moto. I know I probably sound absurdly picky, but we're talking about a phone where one of it's most touted features is the ability to customize it, right?
Oh, and I tried to search the Accessories forum, but the search bar seems to be missing on my screen. So I spent the last 4 hours manually searching through the threads here and cross-referencing them with Google. If anybody has any ideas, suggestions or input, I'd be very happy to hear it. Especially if it involves customizing of accessories.

I have the same color combination on my phone.
I have the SUPCASE, black surround with frosted back. The actual frosting on mine is very slight, almost perfectly clear.
I also found this case on Amazon which might fit your needs:

I am currently using a Case-mate Gelli Case for Moto X. Same as this case sold through the Motorola store but I bought it through Ebay for much less:

I like this case a little better than the other because it fits in my holster better and just feel better in my hand but it does not offer the same level of protection as the others.

That's the Poetic one that looks a little too rugged for me.

This one appears to have a black edge with a clear back which would be PERFECT if I could find it for sale anywhere. The Motorola site doesn't have any, the Case-mate site doesn't even list the Gelli series for our phone, and there's none to be found on eBay or Amazon. If you, or anyone else knows where I can get one, I'd be extraordinarily thankful. Or perhaps if someone on here has one to sell, I'm all ears.
