Installed stock ROM but no data erased. - General Questions and Answers

I own a Samsung Galaxy A5(A500G) and have recently rooted it using the Kingo root app via my PC.After that,I tried to use Flashify app on Google Play store to flash a TWRP recovery. After I installed it,When i restarted my phone, it states 'xxxxxx serodroid not enforcing' or something like that.In the TWRP,I tried to reboot it but it kept pulling back to the TWRP and I could not reboot it to the Android screen. This is not quite bothering me,because I could just flash my Stock ROM(A500GXXU1BPC3_A500GOLC1BPD1_XSP)that I found it on Samobile and I have used it many times to get my soft bricked phone back to normal. The thing is, after I flashed the Stock ROM,IT DID NOT ERASE ANY DATA .Except that i get my back to the unrooted state.Everything is just normal and all my files are intact.I do not know why.Is it just a normal thing,or has it got anything to do with the Kingo Root app?
Please reply.Many thanks.
P.S. I have not installed titanium backup,or a nanodroid backup.

Problem solved,thread closed.

I didn't needed. The other method posted makes the S7500L keep rebooting into recovery. So, I flashed stock firmware (S7500LVJLH1) with Odin and start over again, but same result.
I'd flashed again stock firmware and just flash recovery with Odin, then just write Superuser from recovery.
I hadn't time to verify if the problem was with boot.tar or with files that are installed in recovery mode by .bat file.

I got my hands on a gt-s7500t yesterday and started xda searching on how to put a custom rom on it. i tried all the methods listed under s7500 to put cwm in it but none worked and whenevr i tried to enter either through pressing vol "+" "-" home and power it never enetred recovery nor it enetered through adb so i moved onto flashing cwm through s7500L guide. so by using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725198 guide, i flased successfully flashed cwm and the phone was stuck in recovery boot loop.
I successfully rooted by through cwm and even installed a custom rom but the dammit phone never came out of the recovery loop, so i went to the next step and downloaded a stock UK vodafone firmware from sam mobile and tried flashing that since australian s-7500t stock rom is unavailable.
Now odin gave a "fail" meesage when it reached to flashing fat.bin, i tried almost 3 different stock roms but same problem. I took the battery out, and tried starting the phone the phone started but no display, so i connected it to samsung kies hoping kies will have a solution, well as it turned out that when i went into emergency firmware recovery, the device screen magically lit up for few seconds and went dark again.
i was baffled so i decided to repeat the process http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725198 and flash cwm and boot again. well this time when this completed and phone restarted the phone restarted normally and everything seemed fine, so through adb i went into recovery mode again just to see if all was working fine, but now its the same recovery loop again, have tried wiping the dalvik cache, factory reset and cache reset but nothing happening, HAVENT tried the advanced>recovery reboot> procedure, yet.
now am thinking of two options. first to try install another custom rom and see if that might hellp or since iv got another galaxy ace plus, try to extract the custom s7500T rom out of it somehow, (if u guys can tell me howto, cuz i tried titanium backuo but since it requires root and since i cant get into cwm without using s7500L technique which soft bricks i cant use titanium backup to extract the rom)
Anyone got any idea what to do? is there a pit, bootloader, csc, phone etc files that i can flash through odin rather than flashing a complete package through PDA?
or can i just flash boot.img from a stock rom using PDA and you guys think that will solve the problem>?
Android System Recovery (3e) problem
i flashed "recovery.tar" as PDA via Odin3...then went into recovery mod but it say "Android System Recovery (3e)"..i think its Samsung's default recovery ... so where is CWM???
hi guys!
i have a problem with my ace plus and i have to bring it to a warranty center.. so i have to restore the stock rom and un-root.. any help?
is there a guide to do it? do you know where i can find the stock rom?
thanks a lot
If I root my phone, any advantage in the new root between old 1....
Can someone help me?
My Galaxy Ace Plus (S7500) doesn't want to boot in download mode
Thanks guys, great work
However, my Ace plus is GT - S7500W (London 2012 limited edition)
Is there anyway to root it?
Thanks so much!
Hi, Is there a easy way to unroot this method? Do all my files and settings remain intact when using this root method?
Thanks.

This method don't erase your data, just write a custom recovery and add SuperUser app and bin to your system.
The best method to unroot is installing stock firmware package.

Thanks. So does installing stock firmware not write any files to the data partition of android? What about the apps that are included in stock firmware sms app, contacts, call logs, maps etc, will those apps data be lost with installing stock firmware?

The recovery.img you have is larger than the stock firmware recovery.img. Does this write more data somewhere?

I've been having the exact same problem as you with my S7500L. Boot loop error after installing custom roms. I can, however, install CWM and obtain root without problems.
I really don't understand how the s7500L rom guys developed them... how did they get out of the boot loop.
I tried replacing the boot.img from the custom ROM with one from a stock rom... nothing.

How to update with TWRP

Hi,
Basically I'm trying to update to lollipop via OTA so I dont lose all my data, but whenever I try and install the update, my phone reboots into TWRP, but then it just goes to the main menu and doesn't update anything.
Just wondering how I should update? Do I have to install the stock recovery? Or will that make me lose my data too?
Cheers,
Jack
I don't think it's a very good idea to update ota when your phone is rooted. I don't think it will update either because you don't have the stock recovery.
What I did personally... I backed up my 4.4 ROM and followed the instructions on bixie's stock ROM. I didn't delete my internal storage and everything carried over.
If you don't have the latest twrp. You can either download flashify from the market or you can use adb/fast boot.

So I used TWRP to install that rom but lost my root in the process. Any idea's what I screwed up?
I made sure to backup using TWRP before starting.
Root is removed as the OTA removes it, just root again (if you read any of the guide threads on here you'd know this)

Issues with TWRP 920T Model

Hi,
I have a 920T with 5.0.2 android version and I'm having a hell of a time installing TWRP. I root fine verified root and the whole thing is beautiful. Every root app I try says im rooted, titanium backup works fine and super user does as well. So I know i'm rooted correctly.
Now I download TWRP from the market place and set up a recovery, I pick "twrp 2.8.6.0 zeroflte" and go through the steps. Again no problem, says it is set up correctly would you like to go into recovery mode. I say yes and then I get stuck in a boot loop forever, I can't do anything but go into download mode and redo my stock rom which I don't want. My end wish is to get http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ent/rom-xtrestolite-pure-edition-1-0-t3088032 that on my phone as I'd love to bypass selinux which I can't on a stock rom.
I should note I also tried installing TWRP through odin and that boot loopd my phone as well. Am I missing something here? Wrong step? wrong app? wrong something?

Rooting My 920T

Hi,
I have a 920T with 5.1.1 android version and I'm having a hell of a time installing TWRP. I root fine verified root and the whole thing is beautiful. Every root app I try says im rooted, titanium backup works fine and super user does as well. So I know i'm rooted correctly.

S6 suddenly lost root, can't root back

Today AFWall informed me that it couldn't get root access to change firewall settings. That was very strange because I rooted the phone and everything worked fine. I didnot flash or update or anything else with the phone. Supersu says there is no su binary and it can't install it, so there is nothing I can do.
I use cf-Autoroot to root. I just flashed it again, no success. I flashed the stock firmware back G920FXXS3DPDA_G920FDBT3DPC4_G920FXXU3DPCA_HOME.tar and then my cf Autoroot file I gained root a few weeks ago. Again no success. There is no error message or anything like that. Flashing and rooting goes on normaly. However there is no root access after rebooting.
I used Galaxy S, S3 and S4 with root. I've never had that root suddenly went away.
Whats going on here? How can I get back root?
Thanks for help.
@SamsungPisser I have no idea what's going on with your phone but use Odin and install TWRP recovery http://arter97.com/browse/exynos7420/recovery/twrp/g920fi/ (download the tar file) After you have installed recovery download supersu 2.68 https://download.chainfire.eu/924/SuperSU and flash in TWRP.Wipe dalvik cache and reboot. Then you should have root ?

I have SM-G920F (DBT, German), can I use the fi version you provided?
I know I even tried to get TWRP on my phone working. It just said "recovery is not SE enforcing" and stuck there. With CF-Autoroot I could go back to a working recovery.

TWRP works so far. However problem seems to be, that I have encrypted and so /data can't be mounted.
In addition I have no option to decrypt. So I need a possibility to root with encryption enabled.

I don't think it's possible but if I were you I would do a factory reset and then flash supersu in TWRP ?
I did a factory reset, encrypted and then rooted. If I root first, no encryption is possible, it simply doesn't start.
However I don't understand. With encrypted device I can root without problems, so why my root was gone and wasn't possible to get back.
Helium backup disappointed me much. I selected every App. Some apps weren't backuped (like Tinder, Swiftkey, JuiceSSH and some more) and even SMS and Callog are now gone because Helium wasn't able to backup. Never had such problems with Titanium Backup.
