thanks for posting. i think it would be helpful if you mention the source of your floating_features.xml, framework.jar and services.jar files and, if one can use this on odex/deodexed ROMS. in my case, want to confirm that the modified files are/are not from a Note 5. again, thanks... i'll try them later today.
---------- Post added at 01:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 PM ----------
tried your method and my N9208 w/stock, rooted, MM ROM would not boot (hung on Samsung screen). i could be 100% wrong, but could this be due to your framework.jar and services.jar being based on de-odexed sources and/or not from a Note 5. the framework.jar and services.jar files from my Note 5 are approx 11K and 71K vs. 8MB and 7MB in your zip. thoughts? restoring my System partition got me up and running again.

Thanks for the help but it just says read-only system. I have Terminal run as superuser.

Ok. I changed the permissions from read-only to writable, I typed in what you said and no messages popped up, no errors or anything. Is this good? If so what do I do next?

Hmm, my roommate who has this ROM is having a bit of trouble with Bluetooth. According to him, he turns it on then his screen goes black and then it appears "to restart without restarting." (I'm assuming that it's force closing a lot of applications and such.) Got any idea?

I've tried everything you said before, mate :good:
I can say, this does not much help. But, I'll try again, as you said.
If doesn't work at all, you can help me trough, right??
Jelly bean 4.2 to mt6577 devices haves been very well explained.
There's an development thread made by me explaining all steps.
There's also an second thread on MMX a110 forums.
Little search would point you on the right direction.
And NO you CANT USE YOUR STOCK RAMDISK.
One of the things we had to work out was precisely the kernel ramdisk. Since the original 4.2 AMOI ROM uses an 3.4.5 kernel

[Mod] Surround Sound [Mod]

Sprint Note 5 (SM-N920P) Surround Sound MOD
This mod was created from the new MM update which I got from @tdunham's stock deodexed rom. Please don't ask if it will work on anything else as its specifically made for the Sprint Note 5. If you would like you can post your mixer_paths.xml and mixer_gains.xmlfiles, and as free time allows I will make the necessary changes for your variant or phone.
VIPER- From my personal experience the Loud version of this mod may give you some issues such as more noise, crackling, etc. if using with Viper or other sound boosting mods and apps... I would stick to the Stock, or Medium.
This mod will activate your handset speaker to be on at the same time as the main speaker creating a surround sound type effect while watching videos, you tube, playing music, etc...
PREREQUISITES
Rooted Sprint Galaxy Note 5
DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible in any way for anything that happens to your device whether manually installing the files or flashing zip files for the surround sound mod. You do so at your own risk. I have tested this on my phone and it works great. Enjoy.
INSTALLATION
You can install this two ways your choice.
1. Download and flash the included zip using your custom recovery. To go back to stock download and flash the revert to stock zip included.
2. Download the zip. Extract the two files in the zip (mixer_paths.xml and mixer_gains.xml). In System/Etc, rename those same files with a .bak so that you will have them if you want to revert back to stock. Place the two .xml files from the zip in the same System/Etc folder, fix permissions and reboot.

I'll try to help you the best i can but if you fkashed the revert to stock zip, it replaced any modded files you installed with my mod, with the stock files.
In my experience the only time I've seen the incall reboot bug on the N5 is when you flash a modded kernel whether it be a stock modded kernel for root or a kernel with tons of options.
Im not positive ill take a look in a min, but see if @UpInTheAir has a Skyhigh kernel for your variant. He is one of the best kernel devs for the N5 and i know he has the incall reboot bug squashed for the Tmo variant.
1. Are you on Marshmallow?
2. How did you root?
I am on marshmallow and i installed twrp through odin an installed supersu 2.71

Debugging
Fulmics Deodexer has a debugging system that allows you to track errors during the deodexing process and allows me to track potential bugs present inside the tool.
You can see a "log_FulmicsDeodexer_X.Y.txt" file generated by the tool which displays relevant information during the deodexing process in a logcat-like output text.
While reporting a bug I highly advise to turn Debug log option ON in Settings so I can see additional information about the tool.
Very good job @xpirt. Tks

are you using baksmali/smali version 2.2b4? it seems baksmali can't find classes (returning error 1). could you also post a link to the system you're trying to deodex?

works just fine on my end. make sure you have admin permissions granted (try moving the folder on the desktop).

I do, and will.
I did notice that when I did it originally it asked me to remove all .odex files, which I did... but then I double checked the /framework folder, and all jars were the original size... (i do work in services.jar, and know that it should be much bigger....)
I'll let you know how it goes

from baksmali's source I see that error code 1 means no odex found, so probably all *.odex files got deleted.
