Hello !
I search a way to unlock my OPO just with a swipe on MENU-HOME-BACK capicitive buttons, and if it's possible, without waking up the screen.
Is it possible ?
Thks in advance !
U cants do this
But u can set off screen gesture to apex launcher ( or any launcher app) as default launcherby using this custom gesture mod and unlock u r device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...launch-app-screen-off-camera-gesture-t3186507
And plz pist these questions in appropriate thred i. E questions and answer not here!
You can certainly do this. You'd just have to write the program. The OnePlus One does support all kinds of gestures, which you can see best by flashing ColorOS.
The panel on the bottom is also able to wake the phone with a double tap, etc.
List most things with Android, sure, it's possible, but no, it's not going to happen without you doing it, or finding another person and paying them if they aren't on it already.
Usually the swipe to wake function works on the hardware buttons as is part of the tactil panel

It's possible, kernel gives the coordinates on all panel gestures. I'll try to implement it on my kernel.
Did anyone use boefflakernel? Because there you can enable this trick with capacitive buttons.

Comming from an LG G2 phone..it is actually really hard to live a life without knock on function. (double tap to wake and turn off the screen). Is there any of the hardware that makes this impossible ? or could it be implemented in future ?
What is needed by the hardware for knockon to work ?
To switch off, it works with Xposed + Double Tap To Sleep 1.0. Do you look here.

agreed, although the fingerprint scanner works like a charm it would be better with knock on when you place the phone on the desk
Wake no.
You don't need xposed. Just use a third party launcher and get screen off and lock app. Bind double tap function to the app and you're set.
Just another alternative

To be clear..you must root your device to enable knock on function ?
I have never been rooting a device and I have no plans to do it at this point..

my suggestion is for screen OFF on double tap, not screen ON (aka knock on). I don't feel like rooting too so I use the fingerprint sensor to wake my device (yes its a pain if I have it on the table and just wanna see the screen but what to do if i'm not going to root..)
and when i want to turn off the screen, i use that method previously mentioned. cant comment on rooting/xposed for knock on function as I have never tried it myself.

Bro I'm just using Buzz Launcher (the best launcher experience ever for me) ... it also has gesture control ... u can set setting double tap and action lock screen ... hope this helps ... but no double to on yet .....
Yup, Nova Launcher can do double tap to turn off the screen as well. No need to root. I don't think there are any solutions at this point to double tap to turn on the screen though.
Mate does have the overlay button tool called "suspend button" much like ios & has screen off 'suspend' function but it not something I find useful by many might like it.
App like screen off & lock may be useful for a solution to screen off.
It has shortcut/widget that could be used & also can replace the google now swype up function from home key which could be a solution for some if that function works on mate 7 UI !?
Was another app that has 3 & 2 finger screen touch gesture for screen off/lock .
Power on via tap is unlikely due to lack of development & issues with exposed.
Would of liked an option on the finger print reader to be a fast double/triple tap on option if finger print security not used.
Screen off is more important to me & few options do exist that may be satisfactory.
Is something that would of been nice added (selectable option) to the bottom virtual button bar by huawei as standard !
little things like that can make a big big difference in sales & customer happiness .
Guys, I have an idea to implement the navigation keys using the fingerprint sensor. Something like the meizu m3 note. It would give us more real estate on the screen. Can any developer try this?
1. Tap once - homebutton.
2. Tap and hold - recents.
3. swipe left - back button.
If it is possible, but devs dont have time for this. You can tell me how i can do it. i will try my best.
It's clearly kernel stuff and we don't have any kernel developpers for that.. This idea is good but we got a very low chance to get that..

you can hide nav bar with edit build.prop.
install "all in one gesture" and add edge gesture for back home and recent.
you can see my htc a9:

Thanks i was able to do it. The edge gestures require my finger to go all the way to the corner making one hand usage impossible for me. Anyway, Thanks a lot buddy. hope someone will be able to mess around with the fingerprint button and implement this.
I think Xposed Additions should work.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spazedog.xposed.additionsgb
Then you could hide the navbar from build.prop.
Btw, your idea is available on HTC One M9+ through a custom kernel.
any update?
With All In One Gestures (available in Google Play for free) you can still have some of those gestures covered without any hassles or even having your device rooted. Hide your screen navi buttons in settings then define whatever screen gesture you prefer. No customized fingerprint button triggered actions though...only home button functionality.

I miss the optic sensor of my old htc desire, it was usefull for edit text and navigation.
Is it possible to do something like that with the fingerprint sensor? (like a pointer)
Hi guys. As the title says, it would be great to not have to use the power button at all to unlock and lock the device again and again.
Now obviously to unlock it, all i have to do is touch the fingerprint scanner.
And to lock it again i have tried apps from store and though those do the job and lock the device but then phone doesn't unlock by fingerprint scanner and it just wakes up and asks for pin to unlock.
Kindly help out.
I am kinda spoiled by knock On/Off feature on LG G4 and never used the power button on that thing.

You must use finger sensor to unlock and circle to lock. No other way. Huawei don't have double click lock/unlock. Bad thing. I see to another phone.
What if you try lock widget (chinese version & I'm not sure if it includes in international or European versions)
Use fingerprint quick action
Lock widgets require admin permission to work and if you lock with widget then fingerprint scanner takes you to pin code screen instead of unlocking the device.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
Juat tested with Nova Prime and configured the double tap to turn off the screen.
But that also required admin access and after turning off screen that way, fingerprint scanner brings me to pincode screen again instead of completely unlocking the device.

Double tap Mate 9 not have. Bad. Lock widget not have international version. Only circle, but you must double clock on this quick tool to lock. Mate 9 not have user friendly features like my old G2, G4 or Z11. Mate 9 have only big price. ,)
try using this software from play store. it work very well on my mate 9
Using screen lock app.
Clicking on the icon turns off the screen and lock the phone just fine.
But then when you use fingerprint to unlock, it'll take you to this screen instead.

I saw this "floating dock" on my set too, and it's come with stock ROM.
Some detail can find in this website:
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/140...-tricks-take-charge-of-your-mate-9-p9-honor-8
I use Nova Launcher gestures together with Anywhere Launcher to allow me to turn off and lock my screen using a downward swipe from the upper left corner of the screen in any app. It's very convenient.
I'm on C636B188 and that includes the screen lock widget, so you can use that.
Originally, I thought I would prefer it to the floating dock, but after getting used to the dock I like it more because you can access it from anywhere, not just the home screen.
The "Custom Navigation Bar" app has that functionality.
You can add an extra button on the navbar to put the phone to sleep instantly and unlock your device with fingerprint sensor.
I don't know if any other app of such kind.
At least I have this Screen Lock widget directly on my phone. Fingerprint opens the lock just fine after locking it with this widget.
You can use a Nova gesture to lock the screen, but don't use Nova's Screen Lock action in the first tab. Instead, swipe to the last tab on the right ("Shortcuts"), and look for Screen Lock there.
Unfortunately, though, this no longer seems to work on Oreo. Whenever, I try to select the Screen Lock shortcut, I get a message saying 'App isn't installed.' I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that they replaced the Floating Dock with the Navigation Dock.
i just update the stock firmware, yes, the latest stock 188 rom has built in widgt for turn off the screen. it is very handy.

I have a Huawei Nova 2i & was looking for the same. Go to Smart Assistance & activate Floating Dock.
As switching off the screen can be a pain sometimes i created this little app to make life more easy
doubleHome is the easiest and fastest way to turn off the screen of your phone!
Turn off the screen from anywhere! Just double tap your home button to turn off the screen.
This app is designed for the latest android versions and supports fingerprint unlocking.
Works with software and hardware buttons and any launcher!
Enjoy!
FEATURES:
Double tap the home button to turn off the screen
Different screen off methods including ROOT
Edge Glow effect
More to come soon
Galaxy S7 users will have to disable double tap to launch camera to get this working i guess.
Download:
Very nice..gonna try... also add option to turn off with double tap..thank you
This is pretty sweet. Nice work

it's very useful me!
Thanks, i will add an option to swich off display directly without delay for people not using fingerprint.
Updatet to v1.01
- Added direct screen off methods if you don't use fingerprint unlocking
If you have any ideas how to improve or new features just tell me
Updated to v1.02
- Added screen off root method
Nice!
Small bug: the lower bar where the back/home buttons are located sometimes doesn't turn black on Huawei p9+
For redmi note 3 pro on xiaomi.eu ony root method works But works!

Among the hardware keys the Power is most effected to be damaged with the passage of time. Thanks for a good application...
Here is my suggestion...
With the screen off feature it get more attraction if you add Power menu or Shut Down menu by pressing three times consecutively the Home button.
Screen shot attached.
Works with my s8plus. Can the same be done for a double tap to wake? That's what I miss. Great amazing work sir
Pretty useful, thanks for share with XDA community.
I'm using root method (Nexus 6p, fingerprint) and I feel that the unlock became slower - I feel the vibration that means the fingerprint was recognized and the screen still black for a second. Is it expected?
Don't work on s7 edge ?
Damn the timeout method doesn't work on my LG g6.
I've tried other apps and no matter how long I set the timer, it doesn't work.
It probably has something to do with the always on display.
Hopefully this thing gets rooted so I can use other methods soon.
Still, great work, it's awesome!
Hi, seems a good app. Can anyone please confirm does it support both dt2w and dt2s?

Hi guys. What do you think is the best option to lock the phone without using physical buttons?
Only renovate ice has a sort of rom control which allow to customize buttons. But that rom development being discontinued, i am searching for an alternative on pie as well
You can use Nova Launcher and easily set a gesture to activate screen lock. In my case, i have set double tap on homescreen to lock.
thank you, it is not the same exact way of locking screen just because you have to be into homescreen in order to do those gestures. Rom control let you lock while you are in apps.
By the way it is useful and better than nothing. Also, there is a an option that uses root to lock directly the screen instead of working around with a black screen and waiting for the system to lock it. Thank you very much!
I use softkey edge, you only have to swipe and press lock.
You can use badlock, one hand operation. There're a lot of options.
