thank you in advance

Hadn't tried clearing data on the app to temp fix it, but I have exactly the same issue. Wasn't sure if it was a Facebook problem or a ROM problem.

I have the same problemas and ive asked for this 3 times. Here in general section and also in two ROMs threads and no one answers

If we could get just a little more information instead of seeing that something doesn't work, then someone may reply. Without stating the model number of your phone, the system version you're on (B172, B180, B321, B323 etc) or what custom rom you're on, no one will even be able to help you. Me personally, I don't use the Facebook app and I haven't for the last two years (i use the mobile web version, it sucks far less battery) so I can't help you but the more information you give when asking a question the more replies you'll probably get.

That for me was a reason not to answer any of those posts anyway as cross posting is frowned upon and bad netiquette :good:

Yes i know. You are a pro in that. Its also the second time you answer in those terms, not counting with other users. First was with the permissions. Im not asking anything to you, im asking in general. So if you wanna be *****y, just dont waste time writing crap to otgers, just let anyone who really wanna help to do the trick.

I've had the same issue appear on my Mate7, Mate8, and Samsung J5. I can only conclude then that it's a Facebook app issue. Have you tried submitting a bug report in the app? They've been pretty good at resolving issues I've reported before

I think with the last ipdate, the issue was solved

*[VOTE-YES] For XDA To Add A [SOLVED-BUTTON]*

* MODS PLEASE CONSIDER *
First off I'm Posting this in Q & A because this is where I Waste ALOT of My Time Trying to Help people, to Later just Find out that their Problem has Already been Solved!
Lol...
I Can't even Count the number of threads I read from day to day from users that need Help of some sort with their phones, and that's No Problem! After all that's one of the many Purposes of XDA...
But anyways, after seeing how Useful the [Thanks Button] turned out I've been thinking why Not Add a [Solved Button] Also? This way people like me Won't try to Help Users that No Longer Need Help!!
I mean it'll Save Space and Time Both! If this was Posted somewhere else I Apologize, but I Haven't come Across it!
I Really think this may also Help the Mods Close some of the Dead Threads that are No Longer being used!
Please Give Feedback...
Thank You!
+1 I like to waste time trolling and helping people solve there issues and I agree a solved button would be very handy, or even force a rule saying that once a problem is solved the op must put [SOLVED] before the thread title

Thanx for the Positive Comment!
Hopefully if enough people respond to My thread, and Also Voice their Request for a Much Needed Upgrade, Just Maybe XDA "MIGHT" Add some sort of a [Solved Button] or at Least Something Similar to the Same Effect to make All our lives Easier!
This would be a great enhancement as stated above. As what I've used the Ubuntu forums where this is used, it also makes it a lot easier to search for solutions when you have the same kind/type of problem, because you can easily see if the thread OP has got it solved and you so could have better chances to find the fix there than somewhere else.

Thank you *Also* for your Positive Feedback and Elaborate reply! I Can't Wait to see if More users Also feel the Same way? IDK... But Hopefully they Will! And Hopefully XDA will Hear our Voices and Meet our Needs!
I'll Keep My Fingers Crossed!
Thanx Again Guys!
I'm gonna stick this in here to save creating another thread,
Would it be possible to add the thanks button aswell as the solved in the xda app?
Is this already a feature un.the premium? Thanks

As far as I'm Aware of it Isn't a Feature!
And If it Is... Somebody Please Show me and Everyone else How the Hell it Works so i can put it to use and Stop Wasting my time reading Questions that Already Have Answers! Lol...
I agree with Unksi especially that it make it easier when searching for answers which should bring down the number of new threads if people use the search properly

I have the HTC one x att version, recently when I leave my phone on silent and standby while I sleep the battery is getting wasted horribly.
Any help with stopping the tremendous battery decrease while in standby.

Thanks guys, but do you guys know exactly what page they start talking about this issue by any chance.

It could be a multitude of things. The app will help you track down what's causing it.
edit: Whoops! I thought that thread was for BetterBatteryStats. Download it from the market. It helps a bunch.

Do you happen to have the link for that thread? I usually bookmark helpful links so I can give them to others later on.

There is another very common issue with LTE, which drains the battery very quickly. Basically it occurs if you lose connection for a while (most frequently occuring in subway rides) - and then regain it afterwards.

not to be a jerk, but there really is tons of info on this question all over the site. just do a search, and then another search within threads if you want to find specific posts. this is really covered a lot. you have a better chance of finding a personalized solution and learning a good solution if you skim through and see what answers work with your exact problem.

Removing Google Now results

As most of you know, IB Times and Christian Post are the absolute worst sources for Android news. They post completely fictitious rumors without any sources and without mentioning that the past 1010928 rumors they posted were wrong. I made the mistake of clicking on a few of these stories, so for a few months, I've gotten nearly daily notifications in Google Now about Nexus articles posted on these websites. I want to remove these websites from my Google Now completely.
I did some research on how to do this, and Google said to click the menu button on the individual notification inside of Google Now and I can request that no more results from that website be displayed. However, that's not a choice. Instead, I have the option of whether or not to continue to receive articles relevant to the Nexus devices. I do want to receive articles about Nexus devices, just not from these sources.
Can anyone tell me how to remove notifications from specific websites without removing notifications for the subject of the articles? Thanks in advance. Also, I wasn't sure if this went in Q&A or Apps & Themes, so I made a judgment call and went with the Q&A forum. Apologies if it should have gone elsewhere.
Try deleting the offending pages from your Google browsing history. You may have to wait a few days after that for the cards to stop appearing.

I'll try that and see if it works. I thought of it as a possible solution, but figured I'd see if there was an easier way first. Thanks.
Edit: Ok, so I tried that, but it can't be the solution. Apparently I had already done this for both Christian Post and IB Times, and the only history results I had were three IB Times results from the past month where I clicked the link based on the headline without looking at the source first. All of the earlier IB Times visits and all of the Christian Post visits were gone. However, I received a Christian Post notification as recently as two days ago.

I've never been to those sites before GN, and they keep showing up.
I agree with what you are saying... garbage articles that shouldn't show up in my GN. Subscribing!
I would like an answer to this too!
I think I'll just email CP and IB and tell them to stop posting crap. :/

I'm curious too. I keep getting GN notifications for international soccer scores and it says below them that I searched for this team. Trust me, I have not. I don't search for any sports or teams. I went as far as reporting it to Google but haven't gotten a response. I've checked my search history and also deleted it. But they still appear at random.

I have actually emailed the authors/editors of articles on both sites pointing out all of the incorrect information and asking about sources. I have never gotten a response.
Anyone have any ideas?

Agreed. I like the automatic nature of GN, but I would love more control over what pops up. Regarding those two websites, I'm sure they're just click bait. They always pop up whenever you search any rumors, so they get a ton of clicks for people to view ads. I doubt they care what they post, as long as people get them ad money.
dont you get that three buttons menu option at the right top corner of the card? i think you can remove the updates from there. atleast it shows me that option from some other sites that i visit on google.
This might be a stupid question and so I apologize in advance, but you do have the latest version of google now right?

Hopefully we get an answer for this I want my android and tech news but it's from a bunch of BS websites
I too hate that crappy news feed that Google now gives. There should be a voting system or report spam/irrelevant option in Google now so that these dumb sites don't keep posting in our 'interested' feed

Yeah. There is no option to remove specific sites any more. We can remove news about a topic, but that doesn't help as I want news about android, just not from these horrible sites.
Alright. Hopefully someone can come up with something.

I guess then Google must be pulling them from a list of most visited or best ranked news item. It just happens to be from these sites. I guess nothing much can be done on the user part

Unwanted popup ads

Any help how can I get rid of this issue.
Install the latest version of adaway apk. Need root access though
Adguard free/premium would help if not rooted
Not helpful at all.
Needs to be moved to questions thread. This is for themes and apps.

If that is not helpful,Then don't install any apps From playstore.all problems solved.
Could be an issue with your DNS. If it's just on your phone that you're facing this issue try AdBlock or lucky patcher, but if it's happening across all devices your DNS is most likely corrupted.

With the vague description in the OP and members still assisted you or at least you received replies, I would say that was helpful, your answer (again) very brief was just ungrateful.
First u should check the thread and then blame someone of being UNGRATEFUL. It was meant for just one guy. That too when he gave me a stupid advice.
You're sounding like an idiot now...
Firstly, you posted in the wrong forum
Secondly, you took four weeks to come back and check for an answer
Thirdly, the two replies you got are both good answers and should point you in the right direction
Fourthly, searching before posting would likely give you answers, as well as following the rules of XDA

@lostagain2day I am going to assume your reactions in this thread are due to the stress you are under and give you a pass. My deepest condolences for your loss sir.
However, I cleaned up all of the unnecessary posts from you and the others. My suggestion is to take some time away from XDA until your head clears but that is your choice to make.
