Guys what feature i should include next please give feedback
So what is the difference between this and Marine Music player or lantern music player or any other music player you have created? It's nice looking but the gestures do not operate very well. When sliding to the next track it's not smooth at all, much like the other players you have created.
I'm not trying to be negative but I've bought one of your previous players before and you dropped support for it.

chris let me clear things for you:
1)lantern player is not mine and i have no idea whose it is.
2)marine music player and ghost have a big difference in terms of theme, there theme engine is totally different .
Infact there theme engine is so different that i couldnt combine them, also user preference not all users will like this theme engine
AND MARINE AND GHOST have a big difference :-
marine was ads and pro model while ghost is ad free with less features and pro for more features
3)as far as i know i have only one pro version and that is updated with every feature you see here and i havent dropped support for any pro version , btw did you contacted to check if i dropped support or not?
4)about the thing you mentioned i already have that in my todo list and i guess it will be done in next release , if it was a easy issue i would have done it already, and it only swipe slows rest it works superb , if you want an feature request you can do it.
P.S: i already tried doing that swiping logic twice and discarded becoz i didnt like the performace and i hope this time logic
will be better and pass my performance test

yes your feature request was granted did you check it is now , it is now scrolling smooth, it is precatching so now 5-10% more memory requirement , also as a consequence the setting for gestures in which you can customize the actions is gone too, so much for smooth scrolling

So I think the larger art just looks better. Here is a music player that has the sliding feature like yours but with the full art so I know that it is possible

by not possible i mean not possible in current release becoz i havent coded it that way , it is surely possible

After purchasing Pro, the volume was alot lower than free. I had to crank up the volume. I uninstalled then reinstalled and now it's perfect?

that was a issue in 0.4 version of both free and paid you must have installed 0.5 so your issue was resolved

ty for the compliment and also if you haven't noticed it consumed the least RAM, it is one of the least RAM consuming player in the market, only very very few can match my player

I posted about my new (paid/trialware) music player way back in August and asked for beta testers here on XDA. The response was tremendous and I was able to rake up a few hundred testers within a couple of days. Thanks to their bug reports and feedback, I'm happy to say that Jams Music Player is now available on the Play Store!

Supports all the formats supported by Android (mp3, FLAC, AAC, ogg, etc.)
Unofficial GMusic support (thanks Simon Weber!). All Access isn't available, I'm pretty sure the big record companies won't take it too well if I put it in. If you have your personal music collection uploaded onto Google though, this app can handle it
Limit your music library down to specific folders on your SD card (you can pick as many folders as you want).
Organize your entire music collection into smaller sub-libraries. (Take a look at the imgur screenshot(s) to get a gist of what I mean).
Individual equalizer settings for each song. Say you set Song A to Pop and Song B to Rock. When you play Song A, Jams will automatically switch the equalizer to Pop. If you play Song B, Jams will switch to Rock. You can also batch apply equalizer settings to multiple songs by artist, album and genre.
The homscreen widget displays your current queue so you can easily browse through it without opening the app.
A-B Repeat mode. You can repeat a specific range of a song from point A to point B.
Displays embedded lyrics. I don't think I'll be adding lyrics from the Internet after what Sony did last summer to another music player.

Sadly it crashed as soon as i tried to connect my Google Music account, and also swipe gestures don't seem to work on Now Playing screen :\
Other than that, my favourite music app, will be glad to buy!

Could you send me a crash report? That'll help me fix the issue and I'll have an update rolled out by tonight. Glad you like it! Also, make sure that the queue/playlist you picked has more than one song. If it doesn't, then the swiping controls won't work.

Just cleaned App data and started over. And it works just fine
About the swiping controls, yeah, i was listening to one unique song, so it was not supposed to work
Just noticed that the notification on the notification drawer is cutted when it's size is only 1 row (when it's not the top notification). Luckily it always manages to be the top notification, so i suppose this was intended
Suggestion: add button to show a list with the next tracks in the queue (maybe replace the equalized button since it's not used that often?) List would appear as the menu on the main screen (in the left side) and maybe you could change track positions in the queue!

Ooohh shoot, I forgot to add a helper overlay about the queue part... Just rotate your device to landscape mode. This will take you to your current queue. Will add a helper overlay for this in tonight's update.
This app has virtually i would want in a Music Player.
I'll keep on testing it through the 7day trial, but i'm probably going to buy it anyway.
I just hope this gets the deserved attention.

Hi there! Which version of the app are you using? The current one is v1.4.2, but I'm on track to releasing v2.0 tonight with support for tablets and batch playlist creation. When the app crashes, you should get a message saying something like "Unfortunately, Jams has stopped working". There should be two buttons, "Report" and "Close". Tap on "Report" and that will send me the crash log. Thanks for your interest!

UPDATE I did install the trial version as of now and i am totaly in love with this great ui just like i wanted
although i dunno if its a bug or not everytime i edit album tags the player crashed on me also some random lags
Apart from that i totally love it its a perfectly organised player easy and nice UI , Highly recommended app to all

That's definitely a bug. I think you sent me a crash report right? I looked into the issue and fixed it already. This app looks promising but there are some issues that prevent me from using it as my primary media player.
It does not recognize the tags on any of the MP3 files in my library, my AAC and FLAC files are recognized properly, but not my MP3s.
Scrolling is slow and jittery because it appears to be reloading the album art each time you scroll by each album or artist. Caching should fix this.
There is no ReplayGain support. Not a bug per-say, but I can't go without it.
Also, it would nice if there was a third album art display mode where it displayed the album art as large as possible without any cropping but that is hardly necessary.
Do as you wish with these suggestions. There is some very good work so far and I am glad there is proper album artist support. I'm interested to see how this app progresses.
Seconding the laggy scrolling but in sure you're already aware of it. Caching like like the best fix. Possibly a low memory view with no album/artist art also? It's up to you. So far that's my only initial big report.

The 4.4 API added a new class that allows access to metatada from any music player. This did not exist before. There are hidden APIs prior to 4.4, but they are very hit or miss and most of the time artwork can't be retrieved.

Is it possible to make it compatible with the first sony smartwatch? The official Music Player extension doesn't work well with it, on Android 4.4 or its related to the outdated app. It starts or stops the music randomly when you wake up the watch.And it seems to take forever to load the app on the watch, the screen goes black when you open it and loads 10-20 seconds later.
If I am wrong and someone allready found a solution, fix to make the official app working with Google Play Music on Kit Kat please correct me and let me know.

The official Music Player extension doesn't work well with it, on Android 4.4 or its related to the outdated app. It starts or stops the music randomly when you wake up the watch.And it seems to take forever to load the app on the watch, the screen goes black when you open it and loads 10-20 seconds later.
If I am wrong and someone allready found a solution, fix to make the official app working with Google Play Music on Kit Kat please correct me and let me know.

We will look into it. The resolution is significantly worse on the original SmartWatch, so we are not sure how the UI will suffer.

Do you mean playlist switch and stuff like that? Unfortunately, that is too player specific and we want to support as many players as possible. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
As an update, we are still working on a solution for opening the music player. It is proving difficult with what is allowed by Android APIs, but we are still working diligently toward it.

I Know how to reduce the screenshot resolution but i dont have any software currently available to do it as my machine is going haywire. Also with whatever i have i tried to do it but result was pretty bad screenshot if u want i can upload those

Only if you include a tab for Album Artists Only a minority of todays music player has included this - a huge disadvantage, IMHO. I do prefer every music player, which has this Album Artist tab enabled, over fancy and powerful players like Rocket, Poweramp or DoubleTwist.
You player looks promising, and I hope you are able/willing to include this feature, which would make your player my favourite music player for Android :good:

AS i said any criticism or feedback is truely welcomed.i want to build a player that is truely useful for people. i can integrate that feature but btw my app actually does what u saying but not directly . when u select an artist in artist tab , it only shows u albums and songs of that artist . not whole songs belonging to that album. but anyways u asked for it i will give it . be sure to check out ,it will be added most probably in next update . btw i am gonna keep it optional ,means option to disable that tab as not everyone like that tab. and tysm for your feedback

Just installed this player, it has a lot of potential! It would be good if you could add the following:
1. Repair the option to keep aspect ratio of album art, it doesn't work now, always stretches it!
2. Add option for separate artist images in Artist view, now it uses only album art
3. Add option for list view in the artist tab.
4. When you browse album tracks, the album art on the top is a low quality thumbnail, can this be fixed to use the same resolution as the now playing tab?
In the end, a question - What's the difference between marine and liquid players?

1)yup it is suppose to be stretching it, but it will be working as u said in next version.

as per the difference marine is beta and 2.3+ supported and liquid is 4.0+ and perfertly stable release and will also gain many future feature updates.
I have been using your music player all day and I like it so far. I was using myplayer as my default but he changed the now playing ui and I don't like it. So here are my thoughts on your app so far:
UI: Very nice, looks very good and follows material much better than Google music does haha. I am looking forward to you fixing the album art cropping so the now playing screen isn't stretched.
2. Navigation nice and smooth moving around the app except for the now playing screen. When sliding to a different track it's not a smooth transition, you swipe and then a second later the art slides but it seems like there is a hesitation. Perhaps make it buffer the next couple of tracks album art so it doesn't have to load the new art each time as it seems it slows down the transition.
Also when you're in the navigation drawer and select a track to play it shows up on the bottom bar. I would like to be able to drag this up to show the now playing screen instead of having to tap it to open. Navigation should be about sliding and swiping and flowing smoothly. Once these issues are ironed out then you will have the best music player out there and I will happily purchase the pro version.

2. yes there is a hesitation becoz it was never meant to be animated but i will see what i can do about the issue and if possible completely eradicate the hesitation.
3.there is a option in setting to open the slider when u play a song
I managed to install your player. The overall impression is very good. But there are few issues for me. First, I don't have lockscreen controls, even though it's enabled in options. Secondly, the player picked up my notification sounds from SD although I enabled the corresponding option. Now, I moved them to system partition and it solved my problem. And finaly: a song starts from the beginning, if the player was closed with that song paused. I wish it could remember the position. Thank you for your work

if u have enabled it then u need to play a new song to be shown lockscreen controls otherwise i dont how will it not be shown.
there is no option to disable notification sound showing in my app although there is a option to skip songs which are less than 45 seconds.
well it is supposed to be starting from where it was paused maybe a bug or device specific issue it works perfectly on all my 3 devices and emulator also

Let's make it clear: pause a song e.g. by pulling the earphone cord, then close the notification. After some hours I press play on the widget and the song starts from the beginning. Even if I tap the widget so it takes me to the "now playing" screen, where I see the progress bar telling me that a half of the song is been played, and press the play button the song jumps to the beginning.
I hope it's clear enough =)

hi , i didnt meant you to be dumb but sometimes we forget even the smallest of things that is why i asked to confirm if u have done it correctly.
regarding 1st 2 issue i can confirm both settings works fine in all my 3 devices, so can u provide your device name, manufacturer, rom u use,android version, and other apps which show lockscreen controls
the 3rd issue has been fixed in the source code and commited to production code, so next release it will be done, sorry but at first i didnt understood what u where asking but u cleared it up 2nd time

It's ok I'm having a Samsung Galaxy Gio running CM 10.1, Android 4.2.2. Lockscreen controls are shown with Omich player, Shuttle music, Appolo, and many others.

Looks really good so far! I bought the paid version because the UI is so pretty. How do you get into the extra options though? I can't find an actual settings button. Also on the player screen the 3 dot menu button on the top right is unresponsive on my Pixel 2 Android 9

- How do lyrics work?
Other than that it's coming along. Here are some things I noticed:
- App crashes when viewing albums on 5.1.1 (Stock LG)
- FLAC, m4a, wma, and even OGG work
- "Up next", very useful for shuffle or long playlists
- Spacious UI for the now playing screen
- Seekbar starts at the end of the line. Timestamp works otherwise
- Responsive, no stuttering

- Depends on the implementation that will be followed, the last time I added theme engine to Timber, there was too much theming sepcific code throughout the app. I want to avoid that this time. If I am able to find a clean way to implement dark mode then yeah, there will be more combinations available.
- Opus support is not planned currently
- Lyrics are fetched from a public api- makeitpersonal.co
Lyrics embedded in the mp3 file will be parsed and displayed in next release.

If you have a smartwatch, then start playing any song with your phone and then you can swipe left on the now playing notification in your watch to access controls and swipe left again to access you whole music library on the watch.
Oh, i had hoped for a smartwatch app as well. Anyway, the above mentioned things work with the default music player as well.

I also found a bug: The song progress bar and time don't reset when the song ends.
Also I'd like the ability to use my own time-stamped lyrics, and to be able to customize the player more.
This app is interesting nonetheless!

Hi! Can you check if you are able to control playback using Assistant (try saying play song/pause song/next song when you are using Timber), or does assistant doesn't work at all?
Already noted the progressbar bug, more customisability will be soon be added in future releases.

It mixed number of albums and songs ?? . Like in the picture attached, Kanye West has 117 albums and 8 songs instead of 117 songs and 8 albums
