Fast charging Question - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

Not sure if I should post this here or Q&A ......but I'm wondering about something. I used to have an S6 and all that remains is the wall part of the adaptive fast charger. I just recently bought a Note 4 off of Craigslist that has a wonky battery with issues (looking into finding a replacement as we speak). I tried using the S6 charger piece and it charged the phone a little too fast and sent my phone into total confusion. So is the S6 fast charger different mah or power than the Note 4? Are they not compatible? Would I have to order a charger specific to the note 4 for fast charging? Or is it just my battery?

The wall chargers are the same. Even with the s7 Samsung decided to stick to the same charger.

Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Note 10.1 Chargers Interchangeable?

Hey guys,
I asked this question on the Note 2 forum, but maybe there aren't many users that have a note 2 and have a note 10.1; so I'm hoping that there are more users here that have a note 10 and also have the note 2 (does that make sense?)
The thread is about to jump to page 2, so I don't think I'm getting any hits there. Both chargers say that the output is 5V at around 2A.
No note 10.1 needs more power
Sent from my X10S using xda app-developers app
They will, it just might take longer to charge is all... I use the same charger from my galaxy tab 7" (1st galaxy tab) and it works fine for my SGS3, note 1 and note 10.1...
Best idea is to try, You won't fry your note 10.1....
i know the gn2 charges fine on the gn10.1 charger with both fast and trickle. I'm pretty positive the gn2 charger would be fine on the gn10.1 since it's a 2A charger. i havent used the charger yet since ive got 2 other 2A samsung chargers.

Galaxy tab 7 charger is the same as. Note 10.1 but galaxy note 2 charger gives less power and you will find a red cross on the battery icon when you charge with it (it will actually charge but it may take all the day to charge it)
Sent from my X10S using xda app-developers app
As I said, might take longer... Just like when you attach to a USB on your PC... It will charge but a lot slower....
Still a good idea if you need to keep a charger at home and one at work as it's better than not having a second charger at all... Though it's just as easy to attach to a PC...
unless the gn2 is wired differetly than every other samsung device there shouldn't be any difference in charge times as both use 5V 2A chargers im over 90% so i can test fast charge yet. hooking it up does not show the not charging icon so I'd assume it's not trickling. I've read that non samsug chargers charge under 400mA. the gn2 is charging currently at 507mA. I'll have to wait a few hours or tomorrow to see if it fast charges, which im sure it will
confirmed the both work equally. both charge up to 1.5A. i dont see any record of the gn10.1 charger ever going higher than 1.536A.
Well, this clarifies things. I was just wondering as the Note 2's charger is almost half the size of the note 10's. Maybe the size is just an updated design...
At least now I can have one of the device's charger at home and the other at work and not worrying in frying one the device by not using the proper charger.
I want to order the desktop charger for the note 2 and I think that comes with its own charger head....

I answered in the Note 2 forum with:
I have both and was interested in the question as well (do I need to carry both with me or will I have one in my travel bag and one @home).
I checked both and both are rated @2A so their capacaty is the same.
The note 10.1 shows only a 'red cross' in charging on the PC or on a charger from old Galaxy S2.
Now, plugged to the charget from Note II it works with same current than on original charger
Now I plugged the Note 2 into the Note 10.1 charger, and it's charging with same 1.8A as with original charger!
So from my side it's clear, they are interchangeable
I will use the Note 10.1 for home and the Note 2 charger for travel Old charger stays @ home, could make only 900mA...
P.s.: I checked charger currents by reading /sys/class/power_supply/battery/current_now with root explorer.

Interesting, I have the Note 10.1 and the original charger with the original cable only gets me about 1180.

Yes, the reading on 10.1 depends a lot on other topics like loading % and how much energy just used by the tab. Don't ask me why!

The supplied charger on my Note 10.1 takes about 12 hours to full charge my tablet. Is there ANY WAY to charge it faster without burning it out or, is this just the lay of the land?

That doesn't look right. I can charge mine in 3hr fully. Have it checked or try another charger from another 10.1 user.

I have them both and chargers habe the same specs. 2A and 5V so I dont see or experience any problems.

Samsung has two wireless charging pads. What's the difference?

Samsung offers two wireless charging pads. One is mini and the other is standard size. Is it just the size that is the difference? Does one charge faster than the other?

It looks like the mini only does 1amp charging while the standard does 2amp charging. In short, the standard will charge your phone faster.

Where did you get that info from? In the description of the mini one it clearly states is comes with a 2A charger!
My understanding is that the mini is a new model released with the S5 whereas the other has been around for at least a year now.
Even if it comes with a 2A charger it only charges at 1amp. It's a limitation of wireless charging

The S5 has more than 2 points of contact for the wireless charging back. Not sure if it is for nfc, but maybe the doubled the charging capabilities by having two separate charging coils?
Edit: This is my first post is 5 years, I feel like a lurker.
The power of pad doesn't matter, the coil from the back of the case is the charging source. So for s4 note 3 it's 650 mamps and the new one for s5 is 700 mamps( if i spoted right in the pictures). The difference is in aspect and size only.

Are they up to 1A now? Last I checked, there wasn't a wireless charger anywhere that charged faster than 850mAh. Which is only 30% as fast as the USB 3.0 charging of 2500mAh.

Just like how the phone stock charger is 2amps, it will max out at around 1.8 amps

Get them while they last!!
I have three wireless chargers. The small original Samsung, one Nillkin and a noname. I am using the original charging back from Samsung. I am very happy with the small original Samsung charger. The S5 gets much less warm than with the both others and it stops charging at 100%.
I had it on the Nillkin over night and the next day when it has been at nearly 100% already in the evening it was extrem hot at the morning and still charging but it showed 100% but not the full message at all. Very suspicious. With the noname I very often have the wireless charging detected message when it comes over 9x% so it looks as if the charger often "looses the connection" to the wireless charging back cover.
The original small Samsung charger says 5,3V and 2A on the back and it loads at maximum wireless power with the original back cover and the original power supply. For me this is the best combination. The only thing is, that you cannot use the S5 very well while charging because of the small charging pad. I most time take the charging pad with the S5 in one hand so it cannot tilt.

3 coils vs 1 coil.
3 coils is better with cases and easier to place the phone on it.

Both samsung charger are 1 coil.
3 coil offer a wide surface detection, but does not mean it's better that a single coil charger.

Fast charger included? UK

Hi, did anyone with a UK spec galaxy S6 get a fast charger included with the phone? I keep reading that the fast charger is included but mine only came with a normal one (EP-TA10UWE not EP-TA20UWE). If you did please state if it was a standard S6 or and S6 Edge. Thank you
Mines still in the box I'll take a look later lol

Hey i recently bought an S6 and have the same problem. Do you think this is a manufacturer's fault? Have you sorted it out? Thanks.

Samsung Galaxy S6 fast charging with Desktop Dock EDD-D200BE

Hello,
This is my first post on XDA. So I hope I my question has'nt been posted already...
I have a Samsung S6 with the original fast charger.
I still own a Desktop dock from my Samsung Galaxy S3.
Question 1 :
Can I use this desktop dock, with the original charger included with that dock, to charge my Samsung S6 ?
Question 2 :
Can I use this desktop dock, with the fast charger included with my S6, to charge my Samsung S6 ?
Thanks in advance...
I believe that the answer to both is yes, but I'm not familiar with the S3 dock.

In the mean time, I tried the option in question 1 : it works !
But I'am hesitating to try the option in question 2 :
the dock has an output of 1.0 A
the output of the fast charger is 2.0 A (I think ?)
The amperage on a charger is just the max it can output. The device itself will determine how many amps to pull.
Am I correct that the dock will only give an output of 1.0 A even if I connect it to a fast charger (2.0 A)?
So fast charger + dock is no fast charging the Samsung Galaxy s6?!

Yes. I have a Note 4 that I use with my S3 dock and even with the OEM fast charge adapter I only get a normal charge. It's fine for me since I use it at night and that's plenty of time to charge my phone.
I'm glad to hear it works with the S6 since my wife has the S3 and the dock and she will be upgrading to the S6 in a few weeks.
I have tested both situations. They both work but no fast charging. Only "normal" charging.
Thanks to everyone for there help!

Wireless charging

any one notice how the wireless charger blue light keeps blinking if the phone isn't in exactly in the right spot ??
I was considering buy one does it take forever to charge?
Sent from my SM-N910P using XDA Free mobile app
I tried laying a folded piece of paper in between my phone (caseless)and the charger and it worked as intended. I believe the magnetic field due to the phone being too close is too strong to maintain the intended current. Or vice versa. Using my case results in the opposite result. Not 100% sure, it's been 15 years since my electrical theory courses.
It works great for my wife and i and we have them both in different casses....
Mine wouldn't charge for more than a few minutes regardless of battery level. I tried it with a different cord/plug and it works fine. So my cord or plug is bad, but the charger is fine.
IT seems like it is the only problem with the wireless charging. I tried different 2AMP adapters and USB cords. I tried making sure the USB cord wasn't coiled and straight and vice versa. Tried the paper method, seemed ok but silly. I have a case coming soon. I put the Note 5 on 2 different QI chargers. Goes all the way up to 100. Its the charger/note 5 relationship. Not sure what it is. There are a couple other forums on them.
Experiment time....

This is way more picky on placement than my note 3 with the oem wireless back added.
Anyone else notice a relationship between wireless charging and notifications? It seems over night if I don't get any notifications, it charges no problem. However every time I wake up+ with a notification, the wireless charger is blinking, and my charge isn't full.

I got all my notifications last night no issues
I actually have been having problems, despite my optimistic previous post. I can't seem to get a bead on why, though. Problem seems worse with some of my electrical outlets than others. Turning on daydream seems to ensure a full charge, but then it doesn't turn off at 100% and gets warm. So, I dunno.
I took my Samsung circle piece of crap back doesn't seem to charge at a snails pace. Sprint rep ask "are you sure.you had it on there right?" Yea no no im not a damn idiot. Im ordering a qi stand hope it will at least charge overnight.
Right now only seeing good results on the Samsung wireless charging pad I have a duracell and it sounds to connect but no charge

I was at 2% when I placed the phone on the charger(free Samsung charger best buy gave) and it said it would be less then 2 hours for full charge
Having same issue phone starts to charge and when i get a text or email it quits charging have to completely remove from pad and put back on to start charging. Have not tried daydream option.. i unplugged it last night and used cord to charge.
I exchanged my charger and the new one has none of the issues I have been experiencing. Charges fully every time. No fiddling necessary. I should have done or sooner.
I will try different outlet but if it keeps up going to try to exchange it.
Yeah I tried different outlets, different cords. Eventually I talked to a Samsung rep in Best Buy who saps that Thai cam be fiddly, but what I was experiencing was not normal, Amma I should return it. So I did, and have had no problems since.
I ran some tests with Note5 and Nexus 7 and here is the result.
Samsung Wireless Charger: Note5 NG – Quits charging after few minutes, Nexus7 OK
Cheap wireless charger from Amazon: Note5 OK, Nexus7 OK
Anker wireless charger : Note5 OK, Nexus7 OK
Used 2 different brand new Samsung Wireless chargers with same results.
If I turn on daydream, Samsung charger works fine. But I don't want display on at night while I'm charging. I'm using the samsung charger for Nexus 7 and one of my other wireless chargers for Note5.
Update.
Used Samsung Adaptive fast charger wall plug with Samsung wireless charger and Note5 is charging normally without disconnecting. Weird..
