[APP][5.0+] Slimperience Browser 2.0 Beta (Coming soon...) - Android Apps and Games

Hey friends!
In the last few years Android apps have become more and more memory hungry. Especially the size of browsers and social networks have been increased with each update.
Now I'm proud to present you the solution:
Slimperience
With it's size of just 390 kB it might be the smallest and most efficient browser for Android!
Who thinks, with this small size there is a loss of functionality, will be absolutely wrong:
Slimperience brings tons of settings and personalization features and sets a new level with it's handling and design!
But no word can describe the functionality better than a screenshot, so have a look at these

Main features:
★ Extremely lightweight: Just 390 kB apk size
★ AdBlocker, which makes it very fast
★ Fully customizable: It has tons of settings and customization features
★ Unique theming engine: You might never have seen an app with such advanced design options
★ Render modes: Normal, inverted, high contrast, greyscale, etc.
★ Icognito mode: For private browsing
★ Desktop mode: If you like to use the PC layout instead of mobile layouts

FAQ
Current Beta
Slimperience is still in development, so there might come a lot of new features in the next updates If you are missing some things or you found bugs, leave a comment and I will try to increase your browsing experience a little more
If you like my work and want to see more, please hit THANKS or buy the donation version (InApp).
This will motivate me to make updates and create more apps like this
Huge update coming soon...
The update is still work in progress. The current beta is a lot faster than the PlayStore version and has a lot of new and increased features. It's developed from scratch, so it's a completely new app
Until the final update is released, I will release a new beta (which can be installed as secondary app) all 1, 2 or 3 days. You can find it in the last few pages of this thread . The progress is now around 98%, so it can be released very soon

First off the browser is fast, very nice. I'll check the other stuff. Very nice

I'm will try to add a gesture listener for the right border, to recognize, on which height the drawer get's opened. Than for example the top right border will open the bookmarks, the button one will open the tabs etc.
But until that's working, I could add a setting for the 3 dots menu
Currently I'm fixing some bugs, when it's finished I will upload an update. After that I will try to add the requested features
Thanks for the idea I'm happy you like it!

Very nice - I can't get it to save bookmarks am I missing something

Now there is the first update with some bug fixes
Update 1.0.1 (2016-05-16)
+ 'Set as homepage' added to the Quick Panel
+ New setting to save the current desktop mode (state)
+ New setting to add a history tab to the right drawer
+ Added PlayStore and XDA links (rating will now work)
+ Fixed bug with 'Add to bookmarks'
+ Long clicks will now be handled with quick share

The issue should be fixed with the first update (1.0.1). I have just uploaded it to PlayStore, so it will be available in a few minutes
I've just noticed that the quick panel still get's not updated instantly, but the bookmark will be saved on v1.0.1. Tomorrow I will upload a new version, there the list should be fully updated and all the other issues should be fixed

Bookmarks working - thank you
The app is tiny and fast but the cache (data usage) keeps going up, is there a way to clear it (manually or on exit)?

Currently it's not possible, but I can add this feature with the next update
Edit: Done. This feature is now integrated (and activated by default) and will be released tomorrow.

Just installed this app and tested it, i must say it works really smooth (especially for v1).
I really love the swipe between apps feature.
I only miss feature that for me is really important to use it daily and its something like de speeddail in Opera as a homepage, i dont think its really hard to implement and very usefull.
like this: www .opera. com/blogs/mobile/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2015/12/social-mini-android-13-speed-dial-english.jpg
(remove the spaces in the link because i cant post links below 10 posts (i have a new account))
Keep up the good work!:good:

Good idea, I could add this as a new tab to the right drawer menu As for now the app shares download links with other apps (because I prefer to use external download manager). But that feature needs to be increased because I found out that it is possible to set Slimperience itself as receiver and that will end in an activity loop

[APP] Minimal Reader 3.3 - 02/10/2012

Finally out of Beta and available on the Play Store !
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jv.minimalreader
Hey folks!
I've been hard at work these past weeks to take my Minimal Reader Widgets to the next level. I finally reached a milestone of stability, performance and usability, and I just couldn't help but sharing it with you guys.
I'm proud to introduce Minimal Reader 3.0 - Bringing a full Google Reader experience on your Android device with a brand new APP in addition to the widgets!
The App follows the latest ICS Guidelines and is available from Android 2.2 and above. It's clean, fast and simple to use.
There's a new color system that let's you associate a color to a particular feed, so you can easily spot it when scrolling through lists of news.
App and widgets are completely synchronized, so you can both quick read through your daily feeds on a widget and explore more content in the app when you have time.
The app should be pretty straightforward to use, give it a spin, and if you encounter any issues/bugs, please report them in a detailed comment on this thread.
I'm really looking forward to your feedback, and to make it easy for me, please give me your opinion by simply answering these three questions :
1/ what do you like about the app
2/ what do you miss (compared to other news app maybe)
3/ how would you improve it
Here are some screenshots :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
gonna test
For me the minimal reader is the best reader/widget. I'm looking forward to test this beta.
First impression: really fast, but I don't have tried the older version (2.6)
What I liked: velocity
What I missed: possiblity to change the mobilizer. Readability Mobilizer is better than the Instapaper One (imho)
Suggestions:
1) after the tap on "mark all as read", the app should refresh the ui to not show again the feed marked as read. If I'm in the "browse" view, under a certain folder, it should prompt me to the upper folder
2) the name of the tabs are too big/long: as you can see from the picture above, the words "reading list (0)" and "favourites (0)" are too close.
I like the look, and feeling a lot. Just like 2.6, but great to have a app with it now
Things I miss: Synchronization interval
Suggestions:
Change the order of my labels, now you would have to add labels 1 by 1 to get the order you want. Would be nice if it could just be added all at once, and be reordered afterwards
Maybe an option to rename the labels in the app (only for the app, so leave the label name as it is in google reader), with the same reason as above poster
Maybe I missed it, but just saw there is no option for adding an individual rss feed. Not a problem for me, but maybe other people still like to add them all manually
This is great stuff guys, exactly the stuff I need to hear to prioritize features.
Keep it coming!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Look forward to testing this, thanks
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Another suggestion/missing feature:
Refresh on app startup
Suggestion:
Option to hide read labels (unless all are read/show all is selected) So you wont have to scroll through empty labels to get to the ones you havent read yet
Is it possible to add an export favourite news option? Just a simple html list with the title and link of the news, something like that.
Best news reader ever
Going to test. Just downloaded the beta. Will tell you how it works on both CM9 and CM7.
Cheers!!
I'm actually live coding your suggestions right now
Here's my TODO list atm :
From XDA :
----------------
ADD : Reorder colums in manage screen
ADD : hide columns when no more news (option ?)
ADD : Auto refresh in background option
ADD : Refresh on startup option
FROM ME :
----------------
ADD : sync starred from greader as favorites
ADD : white theme
ADD : tutorial with recommended labels
ADD : Tablet UI
This is great. Thanks guys !
Nice
Loved the widget, but now with the app its even better
I used the application for quite sometime.
Device: Motorola Defy (Rooted + Custom ROM)
ROM: White Rabbit v1.5 - Gingerbread 2.3.7
Pros:
Works Fast even on Edge
Really good looking widget with nice features
Design is good to look at. But I feel the 'carbon' theme is kinda distracting. But its just my feeling.
Changes I Would Love:
The tab texts are quite long. Better if they were smaller and space between was larger. (Already given)
The title text of content is a tad big. A smaller text would be better and feel flush with the total design. Previously given menu choice of 'Small' text makes it too small = Ability to choose a proper text size using a slider with numbers (Higher flexibility?)
The space between the contents in the widget could be slightly more.
FORCE CLOSE
The main app FCs every time I press the hard 'menu' button or the 'more' icon on the top-right corner. You should check that for sure.
It again FCs every time I press a feed in the 'Browse' tab under the reading list. FCs every single time.
Will the beta testers be given free licenses?

Great feedback, thanks.
About the FCs, could you download Sendlog from the play store (free) and send me a log after reproducing both crashes ?
It works fine on my CM7 galaxy S (2.3.7).

That is the dropbox link for you. I didn't know a better way to send it across. Hope you find it useful. If you can't download, just reply. I'll make sure you are able to.
Cheers.
Just installed the beta and I love it for most part. There are a couple things I don't like though and all of them are cosmetic (not too much of a biggie but I like my homescreens looking good):
1. For the widget, I dislike the new size of the "header". The 3 buttons and the counter (also the new MR button) are quite bigger than on 2.6. Much liked the previous size better.
2. Still concerning the widget, the new button that launches the full reader is a bit unsightly. Even though the icon represents MR, maybe a more subtle icon can be used instead that is more inline with the 3 other header icons (simple, single colored icon). If not, then maybe let us specifically hide only this icon (also allow the counter to be moved to the left most if the icon is hidden).
3. Hope you are still working on making the widget look more sightly when there are no items. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24773750#post24773750
Other than these, I'm pretty content.
Thanks for your hardwork!
Minimal Reader Pro 3.0
Hi Joenrv!!
I heard the latest news by this forum, when I came to see if my eternal "refresh" problem can be solved!
I was very surprised, that a new big update even in beta, but, I was disappointed to know this version only works in 2.2+ android version! Mine is 2.1 and still be for some time!
So please, can you tell me if for my version, no more updates will be released?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Alex, unfortunatly I have no plans on supporting Android 2.1 ... I'm using libraries that work on Android 2.2 and above only ...
But If you're here on this forum, you must know ways to flash a higher version on your phone... I mean what phone today has no custom ROM > 2.2 here on XDA?
Very nice app and widget. I like the clean and simple interface. I was going to suggest white theme (not only for pop-ups), but I see it's already on todo list.
Small remark - can you remove or add option to remove the horizontal padding of the widget - it doesn't expand fully horizontally and visually differs in width compared to other widgets I have (vertically there is no such padding/margin).
Could Minimal Reader use https to connect to google reader? For some reason, I have to use proxy and it only supports https.
Thanks.

Hmm... i just tried on three devices (hc, ics, cm9) and the keyboard pops up fine when clicking the login field.
Can you please try another site? Or maybe a reboot? We use the webkit browser and its not flawless so the keyboard hiding we do at first run may be screwing with it.
Lets see if we can fix this for you.
1.0.2.1
Fixed keyboard issue present on some phones
Fixed image cache optimization (much faster now)
Fixed a rendering issue that occurs if data connection is lost
Fixed a few device-specific issues from user feedback
Nice idea, like it. But how do i prevent making a list view from content?

This is awesome. Tried to make some widgets, but i don't have so much ideas. Anyway the keyboard sometimes don't work, i must exit and start again, and sometimes back button doesn't go to previous page but exit the widget config. A possible overall preview would be nice(maybe full screen preview) since i make some changes and don't know how the widget will look. Another thing that i noticed is that when i select an element, in selection section it shows on center and nice aligned on every row, but when i put it on homescreen it's just one row after another. Here it's an e.g:
Selection:
---------
###
---------
**
Homescreen:
-------###------**
Also would be possible to take whole div, not only an element from that? I tried to take a div that contains some text and an image, but only the text was selected. This is a nice piece of work, keep up the good work.

Hi. Thanks. If you like it, please leave a comment on the play store - at this early junction good reviews will help us spend more time making things better
Regarding the preview - its in the works, though it is pretty complex to do. We will use our Prepaid Widget as a template, so you can have a look at that if you want a a preview of how thew preview will look...
Re many elements. ATM its only possible to select one at a time. We are working on an internal launcher which will allow you to move all the elements around. Its slated for release this month.

Review added on market. This would be huge, if you can implement multiple elements. Select one, two ore w/e elements and move them around, awesome!
Just something that i forgot to ask, sometimes it takes up to 150MB RAM, usually 50~60MB isn't a bit much?
Pretty awesome app. I can't for the kufe of me figure out how to set the widget on my desktop. I assume I need the paid app. Most likely user error I'm just dumb lol.

It's a widget. Long press on homescreen, search for MetaWidget and start configure it:
- Enter a website, select an element(click on it then use the arrows from bottom to select between multiple elements)
!!! make sure you have the checkbox from bottom-left ticked !!!
- Click on the plus sign near the ticked box to select that element and go to widget preference screen.
- Configure the text alignment, size, background color, w/e...
- Click OK , select widget size then select OK again, and you'r done.

We will implement multiple elements soon when our widget constructor comes out. Within two weeks the beta will be up.
Re ram - this is because of images. And of course the cache of the webkit browser, which once closed is shunted out of ram.
On modern devices this isnt a problem though...

Allready noticed this problem and work has started on this. Problem is that the WebView needs a real activity for contextual toolbar and not a Service as this is.
Hopefully a workaround is possible. If anybody knows please tell here

Good news. Solution found for this problem and will be updated soon.
With this you can select a link or text by long clicking and than copy content or if it is a link open a new bubble with its content.
Keep you updated here about release time.
By the way there is a short instruction video which also added to the first page.
Flynx is my most used app no contest. Will def check this out. A tall order to beat the fluidity of Flynx though.
Also a heavy Flynx user. I like the animations in this one and it's much more stable than Flynx but I just don't like the way the tabs are organized and managed. If the bubbles went across the top like a tab bar when you opened one of them and stacked on top of each other I'd like it a lot more.
Yeah with flynx and link bubble out there this has some improving to do. Good luck!

Nice idea. Will check which progress is best for "tabing".
So you dont like the concept that there are for each link a bubble?

I'd like it more if the bubbles stacked on top of each other, so if there were 2 links open there'd be a 2 next to the circle to indicate more than one. Then when you press on the bubble, you can display all available bubbles across the top where it's currently empty and allow people to drag the bubbles around the top and rearrange them.
Definitely looking forward to watching this app evolve though as I'm impressed with it so far.
Wow, looks really nice. I'll try it out later, but is there any possibility of combining this with Chrome Custom Tabs? Having to re-login to every site is my biggest gripe currently with Link Bubble.

Sounds good, will be next step after current implementation. (But think this feature takes a little time)

Hmm think this is hard. But i think you should not have to relogin on any page here or?
By the way next update is nearly to release and will contain something like this:
-a toolbar also to popup mode.
-complete share function (toolbar for current open link, select a link with text marking and share, long press on link to share dialog)
-complete open with... integration to open link in other apps (also toolbar, text / link selection, and longpress on link will open dialog)
-also some bugfixing with imageload off bubble (reload image on page change)
best wishes

No, I'm just talking about all my saved passwords and stuff, that would already be here if it used Chrome Custom Tabs, but since I know nothing about it's implementation I have no idea if an app like yours can actually use this feature. Nevertheless keep it up, looks really promising so far!
Bubble movement seems really smooth. I like how the top bar and bubble changed color on certain sites like AndroidPolice.com.
Definitely not comfortable with having multiple bubbles open. Single bubble implementation would be better.
Glad to see the next update adds some essential options. I'm sure this will become feature rich over time. I'll have to stick with Flynx for now.

As name said, Just Browser. I want to create an app that doesn't log users visited websites, bookmarks and other information. There is no trashy and suspicious things in it. You are %100 safe to use it. I can assure you this app will not steal/sell/show any advertisement. I thought I can sell a "PRO" license key to monetization, that includes a few extra small features.
I've spent a few hundred hours and packed a lot of feature, try to make it's size small as possible.
It's size only 473 KB. Not even 500 KB!

Wow dude, the browser seems so cool. It's so simple, which I like very much. That the bar is below is very practical.
You mentioned in the list about the night mode, which I failed to find. Also, I don't want to be grammar nazi but as far as I know it should be "find on page", not in page.
And a suggestion is coming. I personally prefer tab button to be in the front panel, instead of mic button.
Edit: I can add bookmarks, but I can't find the bookmark list.

Nice browser, mate! Really like the speed dials and overall look. What I can't seem to get working is location, for example when I search for fitness centers, it usually shows me the ones close to me / my location. I can't get this to work with your browser, any idea why?
# Add option to set particular view options for different sites .
I'm mean , I'm always using fb in desktop view and other sites in mobile view.
But every time I need to switch between view for different sites. So there an option need to set particular site a particular view. (Naked browser has that option u can check it for reference)
# Add Exit button to the app.
# Add option to clear cache, cookies,browser history etc.
# Add light color loading bar. (For knowing that the page is loading)
# Add an option that ask to save password. (Now it is automatically saving password without asking)
All these items except loading bar can be added to list 'Menu'.
+1 soon coming if u done this request.
And about the app. This is the 1st browser i saw with cool nice simple smoothly interface with outstanding performance. Keep it up

Thanks for accepting my ideas.
I have 2 suggestion for exit button positioning.
You can add it to the 'Menu' list below 'find in page' option.
Or can be added near to the microphone button.
If u have any other better idea for that positioning then go for it

Nevermind, after a reboot it's working better with the location, for example shops can be found close to me, but my exact location can't be found when I go to Google homepage. No idea why it doesn't work, as other browsers can find my exact location right away.
One thing I'd love to see would be opening sites not in overview, but zoomed in, so it's readable right away. Not many browsers have this feature, but I personally prefer it.

Thanks. I tried it but the dark mode isn't for me. It's too hard to see if brightness is below 50%
Uploaded to the newest version, all seems to be fine. But, for example, when I click on a twitter link, it directs me to the webpage version. Some browsers offer to open it within the app. You might consider adding this feature. Also buy pro licence button doesn't seem to be working.
I cannot see the site content but in other browsers it's OK.
I like your browser I hope you will improve it more.its small simple and light weight and placement of url bar is great.
Because of this i use yandex.
Some requests can you remove Adblock count indicator from main page and can you add option to add a site to speed dail when site is already open.i have to open the new tab for adding to speed dail.
Many thanks for your work

- Long press back key will give the handy option to clear data! Also I think to give an option to auto clear in settings!
- Block 3rd party cookies, customs search engine will be implemented.

It's very fast and handy, no second hand needed.
Just bought pro and hope that you will keep this great browser up to date in future. Thanks a lot!
Can you improve the adblocker even more?
- Please block annoying cookie popups (Like Kiwi browser)
- Maybe allow custom filter lists (Like Easylist, EasyPrivacy)

OH has different goal than Via. But in the case of simplicity, I think OH is done enough. OH has only one toolbar with only 4 buttons (All functions there). So we may say it is the most simplified browser in the planet!
Open link in native apps: OH doesn't control that. Its depends on the web page code! If the web designer wants to launch that link using app, there is an api. But if the dev don't want, we leave that as is. OH doesn't change the behaviour of web page, I think it has sense.
Hand icon doing very important jobs! For ex, if you browsing a page with floating search bar on the top. If you are scrolled down 70% of the page, how will you reach that search bar? Scroll again to top then drag down? No, just tap hand icon.
Hand icon:
Tap - Top page will come down
Long Tap - Scroll to top!
Double tap - Expand system status bar
handy, isn't it?

Great browser, easily control with one hand.
How about add a media grabber feature. If you wants to bring some good browsing experiences aside from one hand browsing,
the media grabber comes with opening videos in external player will be a must. The original build-in video player sucks at one-hand control.
