Hey guys. My phone doesn't lower the brightness of the screen, for example, if i go from outside into my house or if i put my hand on the sensor. Is it normal? I think it's bad.
Is there any solution or fix for it that it will lower the brightness?
I tried the xposed module Samsung auto brightness fix for lollipop but it doesn't work.
Hope someboy knows a solution or fix
I didn't know there was a problem

Samsung messed it up with this. I use velis auto brightness app from playstore to overcome this problem.
Sounds like an issue with the sensor in your phone. Mine works, and adjusts the brightness very quickly depending on the ambient light.

This is typically true in all Samsung devices. Don't know how to fix. Same issue on my S2.

I'm not sure what it is with this phone's auto brightness but comparing it to my old nexus 5 I can see that this phones screen is always darker. I know autob its working because I sometimes see it change automatically but its just always set to be way too dark. I
f anyone else has this problem or know how to fix it without having to manually adjust the brightness that would help a ton.
Also if you changed your lux levels please post those.
On and also I do have the official screen protector on if that matters.

Yes, it is a little dark, you can go to settings/display & light and hit the little gear icon, hit adjust and set up the screen brightness you like depending on the ambient light.
i am facing that some time while scrolling brightness increases for some millisecond and come to normal. i found that is twitter, some huge page in browser page.
can any one tell what could be the issue hardware or just a software bug which can be fixed with other rom installation.
What am i missing regarding screen auto brightness? I keep having to manually change brightness when going from light to dark places even though i have "adapt to lighting conditions" ticked?
It feels like im wasting battery having the screen so bright at night unless i turn it down, then I have to turn it up again in the morning.. Some secret setting?

Same here, Someone said that the screen does dim but it does so slowly so you barely notice it! Hoever iam not convinced! Iam almost certain mine is not adjusting at all
For normal day light conditions i feel the auto brightness adjusts very well. Its definitely better than the s4 i had. I have the auto brightness selected and the bar at 50%. I agree for night time reading i have to manually adjust the brightness may be its not as quick to adjust in very low light conditions compared to day light
I was using CM11 on the S4 which had very good brightness control, not sure about standard. I agree during the day I don't have problems at all, and the screen is very good. It's just when I'm somewhere with low brightness and I have to turn it down, and then when I go back into day I have to turn it back up again. Pretty annoying having to change it all the time.
I will get an app to do it for me for now, but this must be some sort of bug this action couldn't be on purpose.

I find the auto brightness not very good.
Sometimes when the lighting condition does not change, it will start to increase/decrease the brightness to the level which does not suit the lighting condition.
It also have the tendency to favor lower brightness.
Thinking of trying out Lux Auto Brightness instead.

I don't know if you mean to test the sensor, but the sensor works absolutely fine (with other apps)
My auto brightness works just fine and i have mine on lowest possible setting.
Guys, i noticed that screen brightnes is always changing, it`s getting a little bit darker and then changing again to a more light, this is really annoying, auto-brightness is off, brightness level is on max, what is this, anybody knows ? And how can i fix that ? I`m on 5.0 with root.

By autobrightness, you mean Adaptive brightness? or is there a 2nd setting I'm not aware of?
...and is it in a particular app? Some browsers etc have their own built in autobrightness
No, autobrightness is off, i set brightness manually on maximum, but the brightness is always changing a little bit, i don`t know, maybe bacuase of the device temperature or something ? It become more darker and then more lighter, just a little bit but i can see this, and it`s all the time.

In lollilop it's not autobrightness , it's Adaptive brightness... and you have to turn it off after the update

Yep. And changing the slider manually only seems to change the minimum brightness that adaptive brightness will go to, unless you turn it off

exactly , it took me 1 min to figure it out yesterday
I have the same issue
That's why I stick to Velis Autobrightness even on Lollipop. Nexus 5 auto brightness is a mess.
When auto brightness is enabled and I'm viewing the phone in direct sunlight, the maximum brightness seems to change really quickly. It brightens and dims quickly, almost qausing a feeling of screenflicker.
With auto brightness off, the problem is non existent.
It only happens when the phone hits 100% brightness. Anyone noticed this. And is there a solution other than turning auto brightness off?
Yes I noticed this today just got mine today and sat out in sun with auto brightness on it was flashing like mad ,

For me autobrightness is useless. Simply too dark in all conditions. Also max brightness is not enough for when you have direct sun on the screen.

I have noticed the same, it's usually too dark for my taste.. would be nice if you could config how dim it goes automatically.
O saw the flickering in sunlight as well. Probably a bug
I finally gave up and installed the Lux app. Hopefully they will solve the issue in the next updates.

You're all insane. This phone has the best auto brightness I've ever used. It's very responsive without changing so fast that it becomes an issue in flickering light conditions like walking past trees where sunlight filters through or something.
I have the same problem, yes.
OLED displays have two "maximum" brightnesses; the normal maximum, which is intended for full-time use, and High Brightness/Sunlight Mode, which maxes the pixel brightnesses out for temporary outdoors full-sunlight usage.
The OP6 might have the threshold for what it considers "full sunlight" set too high, which would cause a lot of flickering in the event that the phone isn't held perfectly still in sunlight because of the light sensor output dancing back and forth across the threshold.
There's probably no changing it until someone rolls out a custom kernel in which it can be disabled or tweaked, in the meantime you can find auto-brightness apps on the Play Store that let you set custom curves (note that this'll probably require root). Hopefully OnePlus will fix it in the stock kernel themselves, terrible auto-brightness can make or break a phone in my opinion : \

I would not hold your breath. It was an issue on the 5t and not sorted during the time I had it.
Can't say I've noticed the issue on the 6 though with adaptive brightness mode enabled
Couldn't agree more autobrightness seems too dark on my op6. Under direct sunlight, I have to disable auto and full the bar myself..
Auto-Brightness is too dark for me too... Hope OnePlus will be updated this, or add the possibility to adjust the Auto-Brightness.
The minimum auto-brightness can be adjusted from the slider, it will still be auto increasing when needed but it won't go below your threshold.
I'm testing this for a few days and it's working perfect, the minimum was also to low for me initially.
I've tested the auto-brightness with a flashlight:

EVERYONE WITH BRIGHTNESS ISSUE,
There are No problems with screen, it's flawless.. Although people dealing with auto brightness issue, should disable the night mode.. Cause when night mode is active, auto brightness tends to use more dark screen as dark as possible..
Regards.

I never said I have problems with the screen. Auto brightness is causing issues at Max brightness.
Night mode is off. Thanks for your comment though.

Actually I like yellow tinted screen(warm colors) , for that I enabled night mode. Since then I was facing problems like too dark in direct sun on auto brightness. Too dark even in room. Today I accidentally turned off night mode while showing handset to my friends.. And voila brightness got up nd up nd up... I tried in direct sunlight, now I don't have any problem viewing my handset even after wearing shades..
If there is still problem in ur auto brightness then bro I strongly suggest u to compare ur handset with other op6 cause it could be a manufacturing defects... I heard a developer got flickering issues, he returned handset..
Regards.

Nope. Is bad
I have auto tightness issue also. Have not noticed flashing, but screen dims often. Even when using phone, and in a steady lighted area such as indoors.
