I'm having got my problem with my sony ion. I installed cyanogenmod 12.1 ROM on my phone. Now I can not install app follow link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360670
by CWM recovery. error "zip signature verification failed". I don't know why? Help me. Sorry for my English

I have been trying to create a signed zip file that can be installed through recovery.
I created a simple one using edify (updater-script) and other one using ammend (update-script).
I signed them with
java -classpath /path/testsign.jar testsign update.zip update-signed.zip
which completed without errors.
I can open the zip file and everything seems fine.
When I try and install the zip file it fails with E:signature verification failure.
Without signature verification it does install. I used the edify method in this case.
I tried CWM ver 5.0.2.7 5.0.2.8 5.8.3.4 6.0.1.3
and TWRP 2.3.2.3 2..1.8 2.2
To test further I installed Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip from this site
It installs with all the cwm but not the twrp recovery.
however Superuser-3.1.3-arm.zip passes signature verification and installs with twrp 2.3.2.3
What am I doing wrong when I sign a zip file? I would like it to be able to install with signature verification

In recovery mod when i want to open any valid zip file or any type of cwm it shows an error..
E: SIGNATURE VARIFICATION FAILED
Please help me i use galaxy star GT-S5282...

the cause and 'often downloaded the file corrupted or bad. new download,
If error continues then can 'be a problem CWM. I advise you to install the TWRM, has more 'functions and works better.

Did u root ur phone?
if not I have ported files.
and CWM is still not ported , which cwm are you using? beware!

Hi there, if anyone could help me get through this installation, it'd be greatly appreciated.
I'm a newbie at flashing, but not a newbie with computers.
I'm trying to flash CM 11S v1.5 but have run into numerous issues. I'm running CWM, have updated bootloader (HHZ11K), and my drivers are on point.
Right now, I'm trying to have it install from the zip in the root directory, and it won't install:
"E:Can't open ... (bad)
Installation aborted."
If I toggle signature verification, it says:
"Finding update package ...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed"
What am I doing wrong?
Bad means corrupt. Re-download

I tried to install ViPER4Android_FX_v2330 on stock via philz cwm.
Every downloaded file give me 'signature verification error' and zip installation aborts.
What em i doing wrong ?

I've downloaded the lastest nightly version for Nexus 5 for installing CyanogenMod into it. The problem is that when I loaded the zip into my phone using adb and the command "adb sideload <file>", it couldn't verify the file and gave me this message:
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed

Well, it was simply my fault to not being properly informated...
The thing was that I didn't have my recovery image updated, so it couldn't install me a newer version because it didn't support it.
What I did was simply install a proper CWM recovery and thus, I was able to install my newly CM.
