Hi everyone, I recently rooted my s6 and have twrp. I am on stock Rom and stock kernel. How could I update to 5.1.1?
Thanks!
Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA Free mobile app
Download 5.1.1 ROM from Sammobile.com and flash via odin
Remember you will loose Root
If you fail in upgrading via OTA, you may have a try to use Samsung Kies on your PC to update.

can i flash any 5.1.1 rom via odin? i have found one for my phone that is stock but it is not from my region.
Yes you can, but remember that flashing 5.1.1 you will lose root so if you ask from me, i would say that don't update to 5.1.1

Well yes you can but only with unikernel and that disables for example private mode etc (aslo issues with admin rights)
I see other threads for J700F/H/M etc.. But nothing for the J700P.
Same here. I need the root to disable the hotspot limit. But it doesn't seem like the J700P is recieving much attention.
use Chainfire's SuprSu file for rooting...it is easy

first try to get TWRP for your phone and then flash Chainfire's SuperSu zip in recovery mode or check following website of developer if your phone is already supported and you can do without recovery

You can't root it without first getting twrp flashed which doesn't work for the P version yet.

There aren't any. No one has root on our phone yet
Hey guys!
I was wondering if anyone has rooted the latest update? If so, are you using the same TWRP and SuperSU as with B561?
I also have a question for those that use AndroidPay. Have any of you been able to use AP while rooted? If yes, can you please guide me in the right direction. I'm a big AP user and I hate that I would have to lose the ability to root my device in order to get it working.
Thanks in advance for the help!
I'm using 3.0.2 TWRP and SuperSU v2.64 Pro, and it works perfect.

Can you tell me, why do yo want to root your phone?
I root because I use xposed for Adblocker and youtube adaway... plus the deletion of Gapps that are of no use.

Here is the latest firmware for the N920T (N920TUVU4DPK6).
This is uploaded to the super quick Android File Host.
You need Odin to flash this!
If you are not sure how to flash this please see the many other guides on this forum.
Download Note 5 N920T N920TUVU4DPK6 MarshMallow Firmware
Why is it a .zip? Are you sure this is for Odin use?

That is for compression purposes, you have to extract the zipfile.
Thanks for replying, I actually did unzip this before leaving my comment, it looks like a custom Rom on my end complete with super su and everything also no .tar or .md5 in the archive, no worries I found a different link and already updated the phone. Just wanted to give a heads up to the OP

Hi.
How do you root this version?
Thanks
There are guides to rooting the note 5 in this forum.. just have to look for them.
THERE IS a guide on rooting dpk6 however its deeply engranded and convoluted cause everyone did root ages ago before these updates....before we all jumped back on our note5....after note7 lmao

I've tried a couple of mirrors and the .zip fails the integrity test? Is anybody else having the same problem?
Edit: It's fine, IZarc reports a problem but WinRAR doesn't.

will my samsung pay work again?
No.
No.
Samsung and Android Pay require a level of security that is broken when you root your device.
The ONLY way to get them to work is to unroot your phone and go to the stock “out of the box” version. Meaning, no root.
How can i root on this Version?
The same way you root the other ROMs.
Odin the ROM, then Odin TWRP, then flag superuser in recovery.
If you aren't familiar with rooting Android them PLEASE read up on it first. There are plenty of theads on here on the subject. If you're not familiar with that you are more likely to do damage to your phone, like bricking it.

No, the boot loader isn't locked. I don't understand this dm-verity yet. But, the 3.1 dm-verity flashable will let you boot after flashing a ROM.
https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/
I actually had to flash before and after flashing ROM. Again, still playing with stock firmware, I can boot it knox free, bloat free, but no root yet.
Maybe this can help? https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/how-to-root-note-5-android-7-0-nougat-t3574986 @rmarinella
