Please I had been an xperia user for 2 years now and I know a lot of stuff about rooting sony phones but this one is getting on my nerves now as I have many important apps that require rooting but I am unable to find any solution. I am following this thread before you even suggested me, but its very confusing. I have made my TA Partition Backup. Now there are few steps which are totally out of sync by the writer of this thread himself. For example.
7.Unlock your bootloader now.request keys from here.follow the guide
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlo...r-boot-loader/
He did not even mention how to unlock the bootloader, but nontheless I found out the steps to unlock my bootloader. But there is one problem with me. When I run that fastbood unlocker command, my pc gives error. I am pasting a screenshot of that error. Kindly follow it up and suggest me the fix for it.

you have to go into your developer settings of the device and click "enable oem unlock" (an odd decision to have this if you ask me)
i tried this and had to enable that open aswell for me to unlock my bootloader

Thanks buddy. It worked like charm :good: . But you know with greater possibilities comes greater mysteries. Now since I am rooted with my phone, there are strange things happening. For example Greenify is now acting like that it doesnt have full root access even though I have allowed it through SU and it will show Greenify - No Auto Hibernation, then it mentions Pending Manual Hibernation, when I click on manual hibernation it starts to Force Stop the apps using the Apps Module of the Android OS, a thing which never happened with me on any of my rooted android phones. :silly::crying:
Second problem is that the guide which made me root the one which you also suggested me, installed TWRP recovery on my device. :crying:For some funny reasons I never liked TWRP Recoveries and wouldn't stand a chance to use it. I tried to flash XZDual Recovery, but to of no avail. Is there any workaround to remove TWRP or Flash XZDual Recovery on top of TWRP and make XZ Dual Recovery as Default Recovery.?:silly::silly:

Not that I know of and given the support and useful things in twrp i'd suggest you use it although you may not like it
Reinstalling apps usually works for me half the time if they are acting odd.

Buddy I think through this tutorial either root access is not properly allowed or maybe this whole tutorial had some kind of step which made partial rooting. Strange things are happeing with some applications. For example SD MAID PRO and ROOT UNINSTALLER PRO are working with root access without any problems. But GREENIFY and now CLEAN MASTER's AUTO START UP feature (requires root access) is not working even it says CLEAN MASTER has been given root access on my device. But then it fails to toggle enable/disable STARTUP ADDS which are around 34+. Second this Greenify is not even AUTO HIBERNATING the apps which are user apps. If I run it on NON ROOT MODE it says MANUAL HIBERNATION PENDING. If I run it on ROOT MODE it says on the top "No Auto-Hibernation" and down again written "Pending Manual Hibernation".
I have tried multiple SU packages like 2.71 Beta 2.65 but same ****s going on again and again. Can you figure it out :good::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

not sure, it doesnt make Any sense that some apps work and some dont because i followed the same tutorial and ive not had any root related issues so im out of ideas really
but first make sure that if you flash a stock kernel then use the rootkernel tool to drm patch and well obviously allow root.

If you are following the thread. In the android folder of the downloaded folder there are folders of twrp recovery. Replace them with your desired recovery and then make rooted kernel with rootkernel oldkernel.img newkernel.img
And then flash it

Does rooting void the warranty of the device? And if yes, can we get the warranty back somehow?

Yes it will surely void the warranty
You can get back only if you unroot, re flash original Rom and update via OTA

Superuser/TWRP installed but no root?

Hey guys,
Just got my OnePlus One today and did a oem unlock and root/custom recovery via command line, and I have the SuperSU app installed, it works when starting, installs successfully (or so it says) but whenever I try to use an app requiring SU access it just crashes and doesn't prompt me for access...
What happen and how do I fix it?
Update with screenshots
So I tried the windows AND Mac toolkits. The windows one just doesn't detect java so it doesn't work at all, and the Mac one "worked" but I'm still getting the exact same issue. Super SU is installed, and apparently working, but doesn't give root.
Shot 1 is my SuperSU app - clearly says SU is Enabled.
Shot 2 is Root Checker....which is clearly showing that I don't have root.
Wat.
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated as I'm very excited to use this phone...but oh god how spoiled I've been with AdBlocking. No root is poop.
Your post is so confusing..... just download http://download.chainfire.eu/451/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.01.zip
and flash it in TWRP then reboot.

I have though :/
I still don't have root - root checker keeps coming back as negative
Inside SuperSU app, in the settings ...
Scroll down to the CyanogenMod heading ...
Make sure that the RESPECT CM ROOT SETTINGS is unchecked.
I had to do this to get Titanium Backup to respond.
Good luck.

THAT did the trick. I'm guessing it's because the app thinks we're running CM that it comes with SU.
Thanks for the hand.

[Q] playstation app error 0x82E01003

Hi, I'm new and I don't know if this is the right place to make this question. I have a sony xperia z3 and I can't log in with my psn account into playstation app because I get the error 0x82E01003. I saw on the Internet that the reason could be the unlocked bootloader. I did that and I rooted my phone. Can you please tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks a lot
I had a similar error after rooting mine. The only way i found to make it work was by removing supersu app. I still have root, just can't control permissions.
I don't know if the unlocked bootloader will make a difference or not (mine is still locked).

Thank you for your answer, I uninstalled super supersu, and the error is still there. I think that the reason could be the custom recovery or the unlocked bootloader. I'll wait for lollipop update to try solving this problem.
Unistall supersu by going into settings>reinstall
This is how it works for me but I only have root. If it's still not working then it must be the unlocked bootloaders fault. If you still want it to work then there's a modified remote play app on google that should work on any smartphone.
If i were you Id just restore my drm keys. There's not much to do atm with an unlocked bootloader.

You restore the back up of them you took before unlocking the bootloader.
If you did not take a backup of them then they are lost forever.
Try removing the app and installing this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/ps4-remote-play-t2929147
That's what I did and it works great on my rooted device. Added bonus, this one skips the connection check so you can use it when not on WiFi (though, obviously it needs a fast connection like 4G).

Can you confirm if ds4 still works? I cannot get the ds4 working on my note 2. My z3 will be here tomorrow and I would like to run cm12 on it but only if I can fully use remote play with a ds4.
I've not tried it yet. I'll have a go when I get home and let you know.
Use version 0.6.1 its flawless works great for me

Sorry for the delay, finally tried this and can confirm it works fine on rooted stock rom. Played some GTAV with it and it was gravy.
If you unlock boot loader you will need to use the current version. 0.6.1 is only if you have DRM keys still intact.

The better way is to install xposed framework (just Google it, it really is quite easy) and install the rootcloak module. That way you can manage your root rights with supersu and hide root for the PlayStation app. (you really don't want root without a superuser app, malware really can take advantage of that)

That was the first thing I tried. I have xposed framework and rootcloak installed but remote play wouldn't play ball.
Have you tried it and have you got it to work? Or anybody else for that matter?
I did , and it works. Just don't forget to activate the module and add remote play to the list (might even reboot before adding to the list to be safe)

Alcatel Onetouch Flint Root

Hey, guys. I found a way to root Alcatel Onetouch Flint by Cricket Wireless. First, you have to enable USB Debugging and Unknown Sources. Then, download the kingroot app from kingroot.net After rooting is complete, reboot your phone. When it boots back up, download SuperSU from google play. It will ask to update binary click normal. It will ask you to remove other superuser apps (kingroot and purify) click ok andit will do it for you. If it says binary update failed just click reboot and superSU works fine ater reboot.

No custom recovery yet cuz we can't unlock the bootloader yet
So I found an option to "allow OEM bootloader unlock" in developer options but still no way to actually unlock it yet
I know I'm late to the party, but wanted to say good work and I got one myself after they lowered the price at Target to $50. Purchased an unlock code for $6 and will be using the root method you lined out after I get and use my sim unlock code. Thanks again!!!

It worked for me! Guys just follow his guide and u should be good. Thanks @jsowen321
Getting SuperSu to replace Kingroot was super annoying and frustrating.
SuperSu Me just hangs cause KingUser doesn't like to be replaced and it makes sure you know that by installing itself as a system app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/replace-kingroot-supersu-t3339950
That did for me effortlessly and SuperSu updated the binary after soooo many failed attempts.
"sh switch_armv7.sh"
You'll understand after you read the last step.
SuperSu Me should be ran after switching to remove KingRoot files from phone.
Root, Xposed and TWRP is easily achieved as long as you know how to follow directions.
Thank you @Casey Campanile & @jsowen321

Yea just restart ur phone. If KingRoot is still installed, remove it, and then reinstall KingRoot again. If it's already removed just reinstall it. After rooting with KingRoot, download SuperSU from Google play and update binary using the "normal" method. Then it will ask to remove other superuser apps click OK or yes so it will remove KingRoot for u
Thank you for taking the time to deal with my issues. I did as u instructed, uninstalled and reinstalled then installed SuperSU. Unfortunately it says install failed,. Now what I'm afraid of messing things up thank u

You can root this phone without having to go through the kingroot app. See this thread:

Hope this helps anyone who recently purchased this phone!
So what can I do with this now that I've rooted it? Is there some new rom I can install to run the latest Android? This is my first Alcatel...I've been a Samsung Galaxy S person for a bit. Looking for some fun with the Alcaltel.
Is there a way to bypass cricket hotspot lock. My phone is rooted and I installed Xposed but I can't find a way to bypass wifi tethering lock.

Rooting OPO without Wiping Data

Hi
I want to root my OnePlus One solely for the purpose of being able to install an app which requires my phone to be rooted. I have seen some old threads (both here and on OnePlus.net) on how to do this, but I'm not sure if the procedures still work for a phone running Cyanogen 13.1.
Can anyone point me to some instructions that do work for OPOs running CM13.1 that will allow me to root my phone without wiping any data
Many Thanks!

Well you only want root right?
You can simply do it without unlocking boot loader.
Just search for kingoroot or kingroot apk on google and use it making sure you've a good internet connection. It may need a few tries before rooting. But it will 100% work.
Not the best choice...You should install the system less supersu imo.

Xperfix

Hi Friends
My wife by mistake deleted important files. Tried Dr. Fone and others but need to root before doing deepscan to recover. I spend hours and but error all the time at 80% because no root access.
I have no choice but to unlock bootloader without backing up TA neither I know how to do it.
Due to late night no time to manually sideloads, but bought Xperfix to do the job to TWRP/ROOT/DRM
So far twrp installed successfully but not rooted nor installed magisk . Let me pull the usb at 20% and wait twrp to reload after 100% nothing done. Maybe twrp not mounted system properly?
I am also worry now after seeing others saying that unlocking bootloader will effect the camera functions?
But as per xperfix 3.0 it says the problem been solved.
How is this Xperfix does it really work ?
try flashing magisk 16 in recovery and see if you get root.

When you bought Xperiafix you also bought support from the developer. Go back to sToRm//'s website and raise a support ticket.
If you include the txt logs found in c:\xperiafix that would be helpful
I have used his tool on my XZ1 compact, so I know it works, but getting the right drivers installed on your Windows machine is a real minefield. Windows chooses the wrong drivers by default when you connect the phone with TWRP running. This sounds like your problem to me. You have to manually add them with the phone connected TWRP on.
Also, you can't just install the drivers in Windows 10 (Windows doesn't tell you it failed to install the drivers, you just can't connect.), you have to go into safe mode and install the drivers with 'driver signing disabled',
There is a lot of helpful advice in the original Xperiafix thread, along with the links to drivers required.
Edit: you have to pull the USB at 20%, go into TWRP yourself (from powered off, hold volume down & power, wait until phone starts, keep volume down for a few more seconds) and swipe to make system partion writeable, then reconnect phone and Xperiafix will do the rest.
appreciate your reply , I have tried many times reflashing with xperifix when twrp reach 20% to restart it wont restart auto I need follow on screen instructions to do and mounted the system untic the and finished to 100% but again no magis and no drm . I copied the magis file from xperifix folder and flashed directly now have rooted already. Only thing why I have been using xperfix because of camera issue and is green. Support no reply yet since yesterday.
Can I manually flash the drm and fix the camera issue ? Please guide me my wife is so sad about this incident.

I copied the magis file from xperifix folder and flashed directly now have rooted already. Only thing why I have been using xperfix because of camera issue and is green. Can you post the logs from the C:\Xperiafix folder?
Once you have reached the 20% step and gone into TWRP to enable system file write and plug the phone back in, Xperiafix continues if it does nothing then the drivers are wrong.
You will know when the drivers are right as the phone restarts itself once it's been reconnected to Xperiafix.
Read this thread on the original app, everything is explained and the drivers linked
Explanation from sToRm//, help is on the way!
I got it fixed by reinstalling and use WIN10 . Now all set. Appreciate to all my friends on XDA for assisting me.
I want to now after this will I be still getting OTA from Sony can update or need manually update?
How is the battery life after using xperfix?
Hi Friend I am back again with some help need.

Android pay will work if you follow Xperiafix. Magisk will install and if you select 'magisk hide' in the settings you will be able to use android pay. It's ok, you don't have to pretend it's your wife's phone
Hi Mate
Thats what we did but failed with Android Pay at counter.
Also bank applications refuse to install because phone was rooted.
Do banking applications works on rooted phone?

Have you tried to run Safteynet after you have installed Magisk? (on the Magisk start page)
Do you have Xposed installed?
There is no way to hide Xposed and it will fail Safteynet
I have several banking apps that work and one that refuses to install
Nope I did not install xposed.
Here is the problem after clicked start safety net the status all are failed.
ctsProfile:false
basicintegrity:false

Got is solved by hiding safety check passed.
But still the citibank app refused to run due to rooted phone.
Anyone tried this app if working?
Regarding android pay do I need to run safety net check each time before using it?
