CM13 lockscreen modifications - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
I just recently flashed the newest release of CM13 for the first time.
Before I only had Xposed Framework installed and really loved the ability to make it impossible to turn off or restart the phone or to access certain tiles in the Quick acces menu (for example airplane mode) while not unlocking it.
I just wondered if I just didn't find these options yet in CM13.
Since I read that Xposed and CM13 don't work well together i wondered if someone here knows how I could get these settings back.
Thanks a lot!

[Completed] [Q] Systemui Crashes On Boot

Yesterday I was experimenting with XBlast, and I enabled a feature that doesn't play well with my ROM (I believe that it was adaptive notification header), and after rebooting my system ui crashes. Occasionally it will work for 3-4 seconds, but then it crashes so I do not have enough time to try and disable the module. I tried uninstalling XBlast via ADB, but I had debugging disabled for some reason, so that is out of the picture. Re-flashing my ROM and GApps did not work. I am fairly certain that I am going to have to clean flash my ROM but I thought that I would check here to see if there was a way to fix this without a clean flash.

Hell's Core b47 kernel
Hi there!!
Yes, the simplest solution would be a clean flash of the ROM. That's the only way to be certain everything from the module is gone.
And so you know, the Nexus 4 has its own section here on XDA. And the Q&A section is the best place for N4 questions of any kind.

Good luck! ?
A colleague has passed along a tip for you.
You can possibly disable xposed by rebooting and pressing any hardware key 5 times when it's booting.
Or you can flash the Xposed uninstaller zip....read up on that and download it here..

8.6.1 weekly
I have been using the 8.6.1 build for 2 days now. Very happy with it everything seems to work fine. I just wanted to let everyone know it boots fast, and will even boot with a custom kernel. I would like to request the option for data speed in status bar if possible. Xposed works dine for me i have android l navbar and youtube adaway even gravity box only for the data traffix monitor but it wouldnt even show up. I tried another xposed module but it was no good either. If there is another way can some please let me know?
In advance thank you greatly.
Hi,
I'm on slimkat 8.6.1. Is anyone having issues with latest version of viber - calling or specifically the mic? Calls get disconnected automatically or the other person can't hear me. It seems that this issue with viber and custom Roms has been going on for a while.
Hopefully someone has a fix or work around. Thanks.
any chance for dual sim
This thread doesn't seem very active. I think it's more clutter to have a different thread just for questions. Was this something the Admins decided or was it asked for by the Slim thread maintainer?
back button behavior
Love this ROM. Thank you.
I'm experiencing strange behavior with the back button. For now I can only report that it happens in Chrome.
After following a few links on a site I tap the back button I hear what sounds like a double-tap. Instead of going back one page in the history it opens a new blank tab.
I really like using the phone's back button, particularly since Chrome moved its back button to the settings menu.
I've noticed that when I remove the button and then add it back it acts as it should.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm having an issue on the latest nightly where I can't pull down the notification/quick settings menu in portrait mode
It works in landscape and portrait with other ROMS
It is enabled

Have you done a clean flash? Are you running any xposed modules?
yes
it was a clean flash, full format
no exposed modules
WiFi issues with Build 8.8.x
i also figured that problem.
The solution for me was to set an manual/static IP, it seem DHCP got an issue.
For me that fixed the Problem. I can imagine if the Network is not in the area 192.168.1.x causes the problem .
Any chance for Dual Support?
I wanna give slimrom a try, but I´m on xt1033. Any chance for MSIM support?
Thanks a lot!
Hi guys, i was using Moto stock kitkat 4.4.4, l made a backup and installed succefully SlimKat. Now l want to restore to Moto stock KitKat and does not boot. I'm using TWRP 2.8.4.0 and the restore is succesfull. But when system start it just shows de google logo with the lock unlocked. And stays there forever. I made all the wipes carefully. The good thing is that when I restore the image of SlimKat that I made it works and my phone is fully operational, but not with Moto stock kitkat.
Any ideas?

SlimKat ROM
Hello everyone,
I've been using Slimkat successfully for a few months now. Had some issues with my HTC One M8 and wanted to do a clean install. Still had the original files on my sdcard so I just went in, wiped data cache/factory reset then wiped dalvik (I use Philz for recovery) and then loaded up the original zip and gapps zip file. Now I'm stuck in a boot loop. I give it 15 minutes and I'm still stuck on the SlimKat loading screen. I remember it taking a few minutes the first time I did it but not this long. Any suggestions?

Looking for a custom rom without the extra step >>> swipe before pattern

hi Guys,
i am still on CM11 because for me the Pattern lockscreen is perfect
some poeple know this issue
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79889
The new lock screen makes it even slower to unlock your phone, and there's no option to remove the extra step.
The first screen now makes you swipe up to go to the normal unlock screen (or other directions for the phone or camera). The majority of the time, I don't need either the phone or camera, so the extra step is slowing down the most common action I need to do every single time I want to use the phone.
This needs an option setting so it can be disabled.

So i have a question:
Is there any Custom Rom where i can disable this annoying option ? I like tu upgrade to CM12 but i am not sure if i have to swipe before unlock my phone.
Thanks
It can be disabled and show directly the pattern unlock in cm12.1.
Nexus 5, CM12.1 CAF
ok thank you. in the past i tried a very early version of cm 12 , then i switched back because of this extra step.
so last thing i need to know, i hope for your answer, is there any option for the "silent mode" like in cm11 / kitkat or do i have to wait till cm13 for a working silent mode ?

There's an equivalent to Silent Mode, it's called 'Priority Mode'. Some ROM have Silent Mode built in too (such as Cataclysm LP).
thanks for answering.
i guess CATACLYSM will be the better choice, it is already on Marshmallow - i will try it first

Nexus 5, Marshmallow 6.0 MRA58N - OTA notification

Hi Guys
After one of the custom 5.1 roms crashed and left me without the phone, I have decided that I will go live with Marshmallow.
I have installed the original stock 6.0 MRA58K which after booting quickly went into MRA58N with OTA update.
Once I have realised how many things I am missing in my phone, due to using the stock ROM, I was looking for a perfect solution and decided that I will no longer be flashing custom ROMs, but use XPOSED as a framework with additional modules.
I have installed the elementalx kernel and added the correct XPOSED framework.
Everything was working fine until yesterday, where I have received notification about OTA update to 6.0.1.
First I thought that I don't really care about emojis, however I do like the option of "Do not disturb until next alarm".
I know that I can achieved by some additional modules to the xposed, however the OTA update is quite annoying.
Because I was on TWRP as a recovery, I have also installed the BusyBox and SimpleRecoverySwitch hoping that this will resolve the issue. Quickly reflashed stock recovery (don't know why, but every time when I was using fastboot to flash recovery with stock recovery.img, TWRP was still there) and found that I still can't use OTA update to 6.0.1. due to error:
"app_process 32 has unexpected contents".
After googling I have found that this is because I have xposed up and running.
Googled than for "unistalling" xposed and found plenty of topics, however none of them have provided me clear answers, especially to the question of "how to uninstall xposed". I have not found any original.img, so I suppose xposed installer have not created any backup, also when I will open xposed Installer - options to "uninstall xposed" are greyed out.
So my question would be - how can I easily remove xposed (temporary) without loosing data/restarting fully the phone, because after 5 days of flashing/reflashing/factory resets I am slowly tired from setting up personal configuration on my phone (even when on Marshmallow is much more easier than on lollipop 5.1).
If this is not possible, how I could remove OTA update from not only notifying me all the time, but also not restarting the phone (wakelock?)
Once you root the phone, you will not be able to upgrade via OTA. Your choices are to follow the instructions on this thread or to completely go back to stock without root and do the OTA.

[Completed] Getting app management shortcuts in recent apps list

Hi, I've recently switched over to Moto G 4 plus (XT1643) from Zenfone 5 T00F Resurrection ROM 61r.
Back in RR, the developer tools had far many options compared to what shows up on Moto G4+.
I have unblocked bootloader, rooted systemless with chainfire's SU, installed xposed framework flashed to elemental X kernel and installed some ten odd xposed modules. However even after a week of Googling, scouring forums and trying multitude of 'dev tools' apps off playstore, haven't still had any luck.
The developer option feature I am looking for is the one wherein long pressing the app icon from recent task list would pop up a menu with multiple options like Disable, uninstall, clear cache, clear data etc. Unfortunately I don't have the old phone with me anymore, so I don't have a screenshot to explain better.
Being more of an Android novice still, I am not sure if my question makes complete sense or if my phone already has the what I'm looking for. So I'd be really thankful if someone could point me in the right direction.
