Bluetooth turns on by itself - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

As I wrote in the title, I have to turns off the bluetooth several times a day for some time...
I don't know why and don't have any other issues.
Do you know an application which monitors the activation of bluetooth, wifi etc... (which shows a graphical tool to know when the wireless technologies starts ?)
Or an app to know which other app can enable bluetooth ?

Go to settings application, manager application, click more (upper right) and click change system configuration. There you can see what application can turn you Bluetooth on.
I don't know the exact menus name because mine is in Portuguese. But you are going to find.
Probably you have installed an app that's turning your Bluetooth on for some reason.

[Q] Pandora on the Wi-Fi only Xoom?

Pandora doesn't open properly on my Xoom. I get a window that says:
Sorry!
The application Pandora (process com.pandora.android) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Force close........................Report
I have performed both a soft reset and a factory reset and it didn't resolve the issue.
Any ideas?
Just to let you know, I have not had any problems using Pandora, I would check if you have some other media player conflict or possibly a streaming app conflict, another thing to check would be if it is just that your particular WIFI is blocking it for some reason. Try uninstalling media players, streaming applications, and browsers, reset and reinstall Pandora (after you have done the above), if that doesn't work try a different WIFI and see if it is a network issue, a lot of companies are blocking Pandora and any other streaming content. Check to see if it works on the browser and therefore just an app issue.
Edit: After looking more closely at your specific issue I expect that it is an app conflict, this is not definitive, it could still be a streaming conflict, but I would say you have some app that is conflicting with something Pandora is trying to do at startup. This could be a program that has a bad memory clearing function and is not letting go of some process.
Hope this helps.

I am not sure what the issue is but I don't suspect it is my server issue. I have a Droid X and have no problem with Pandora when connected to my same Wi-Fi router.
Very few people currently have the Wi-Fi only Xoom. Those with the 3G Xoom don't seem to have the problem even with data turned off.
I'm having the same issue on my new WiFi only Xoom.
I've tried to uninstall, restart and reinstall. But the problem remains.

This may be a glitch with the Wi-Fi only Xoom. The 3G version folks aren't having the problem with Pandora. I have also performed a factory reset and it didn't help.
I think other people with Wi-Fi only Xooms are reporting this issue.
I also can't get Gasbuddy to work on my Wi-Fi Xoom. The 3G folks say they can get Gasbuddy to work.
Same here with my wifes new wi-fi only, it does work on my 3G, also having issues with slacker, after I login it goes to a black screen

Also having issues with Slacker. Problem with being at the bleeding edge.
Has anyone contacted Pandora? Weird that the Verizon Xoom does not have a problem even if you didn't get a Verizon data plan.

I have contacted Pandora support. They have turned the issue over to their systems engineers.
wifi Xoom here as well having the same issue however I installed the apk of Pandora that came on my Nook Color and it works.
Better interface then the regular version as I assume this was made for tablets, however it doesn't rotate to landscape view its locked to portrait.

Worked great thanks!
So, I would like to know what changed between the 3G and Wi-Fi Xoom.
It may be that Pandora is intentionally breaking the software on the Android platform as they are loosing any assurance of limitation of consumption. i.e. 3G was SOME what of a limiter previously.
They have already 40 limit on the desktop version that does not apply to most if not all Android devices.

I think you may have misplaced your tinfoil hat.
It is probably just getting an unexpected value back from a function since no 3g radio is present and it wasn't designed for that. Who knows though, since nobody has posted a log of the error.

[Bug-Fix] Solution for wifi-shutdown in standby (no root required)

UPDATE: There is an app in the play store called 'Advanced Wifi Lock (Free)' which fixes this problem and DOES NOT need root
ossy1337 said:
Some (or maybe the most) users reported that the phone loses wifi signal after a few minutes in standby. I probably found a way to fix this. All you need to do is:
5. change the line 'gEnableSuspend=3' to 'gEnableSuspent=1'
PS: Keep in mind that unlocking the bootloader using htcdev will most likely void or at least constrain your warranty

Yeah I found out about the wifi lock issue when I got my sony tablet, advanced wifi lock is the perfect solution!
for me the wifi lock causes very low standby hours. anyone having the same issue?
If I did not misunderstand what you mean by WiFi shutdown, there is an option in WiFi setting which keeps WiFi on even phone is in sleep mode (standby).
Go to:
WiFi list, menu, advanced, keep WiFi on during sleep, select always.
No 3rd party app needed.

That's exactly why this thread exist...

OK, if that's the case, ignore my post then, but I did not really see any where mentioning the "keep one" function not working in this thread, so had no idea... maybe good to add it somewhere just to avoid further confusion
By the way, the "keep on" function works fine for me, so maybe something to do with the router? or wifi band (802.11a/b/n)?

This app causes massive battery drain. For me, I updated my device with ics ruu and this problem was gone, but a week ago when I did a factory reset the problem reappeared.

Thanks for sharing. I would've tried it out if it weren't for the fact that my current rom has no problems with wifi connectivity at all.
However, I will keep this app in mind just in case .

When coming home, phone does only connect to wifi after the screen has turned on

Hi,
I am on C432B170. Whenever I change locations (physically), the phone only connects to the available (and already saved) wifi after I turn the screen on. It then keeps connection indefinitely. I also double checked, it is set to keep the connection always.
Or am I too impatient (it even happens after being within wifi range for 15 minutes)? What is the scan interval when the screen is off? Is there maybe a way to decrease that interval?
Thank you in advance

My Mate 8 connects immediately after I enter home while keeping the phone in my pocket without turning the screen on.
So there must definitely be a problem in your settings, or maybe a problem in your wireless router configuration.
If possible check your Mate 8 behavior with another wifi network.
In fact, it happens also at work. and my Mate S (with Android 5) connected immediately.
Do you have wifi+ enabled or disabled?

Not enabled, it might creates problems keeping the phone always on mobile data connection instead of switching to wifi..

How are you sure that wifi connection is not active?
Only because you can't see the wifi symbol on the status bar as soon as you turn the screen on (it might be due only to a delay in the screen refresh), or have you checked otherwise?

I checked the dhcp log in the router and it also matches the time of when I activated the display
What battery saving plan are you using?
And check advanced wifi settings: always active on standby is enabled?

Performance
Always active (as stated in initial post) (Battery history also shows that WIFI was on permanently)
Well, other possibilities are to delete the wifi connection and recreate it (if not already tried), and eventually perform a Mate 8 factory reset.

also known as "I got no idea, try this standard thingy". I already resetted the phone - without any third party apps I noticed the exact same bahavior
Unfortunately, if you can't solve the problem in any way, probably your Mate 8 is somehow faulty in the wifi compartment, and need to be sent to Huawei for repair...

That's like saying: "If notifications are delayed, you need to send it to huawei for repair"
If wifi works fine otherwise, it must be a software problem.

Chances are, it's an android 6.0 issue. Too bad, Huawei didn't update to 6.0.1

I honestly don't think so, AFAIK till now nobody here (and on the other forums I attend) has posted a similar problem with the Mate 8, so IMHO it shouldn't t be a Huawei Android 6.0 problem.
But anyway, this XDA thread now might be read by some other people who could possibly confirm the same problem, so you'll see if you're not alone...
I do have same problem on KanVIP Slim on a AL10. The wifi wont connect until i open the screen nor at home or at work, did test it with WIFI+ enabled or disabled.
Also i have noticed that the login webpage wont show when i'm connected to a public free WIFI that require web login.
Waiting for the new 172 version of the ROM to see if any improvements.

Wifi turning off on it's own

Just started recently. Wifi calling is off. Didn't see any other setting. Anyone know?
It might be because I have wifi smart settings turned on but just recently turned off GPS. Just to turned it back on so we'll see...
Apparently it's not those settings. Problem still persisting. Anyone know please speak up.
Been dealing with same issue. Seen people talk about turning off optimizations for certain apps that is a possible fix. Google connectivity and wifi.
Thanks. How do you do this?

It's in the app settings in the 3 dot menu under optimizations. Like I said it seems to be a hit or miss.

It's an app that assists with Wifi connection. You can find it in the Play store under Google Connectivity Services so you know what the logo looks like, at least in case it's under a different name. Namely used to automatically connect you to good public WiFi APs and auto-tunnel you to Google's VPN.
fixed it for me
Try installing the app called "WIFI KeepAlive" (the one with a grey antenna not green wifi bars)
This fixed it for me

Question WiFi calling issues

Hi friends. My daughter has the S22 ultra and wants to disable wifi calling. Each time she clicks the toggle, it automatically turns itself on again within seconds. The only success she has found is to completely disable wifi.
She wants her wifi on. She only wishes to disable wifi calling. Thank you

Is she using the stock dialer app? Or is she using a 3rd party app?
Which software version is running on the phone?

Here are some things you can try:
1. Reset network settings
2. Reset app preferences
3. Delete app data for Carrier Services app
