Also, if anyone has any other information that needs to be added to this let me know so I can include it.

Thanks for patching this! It'll be valuable for the life of our devices so we are all grateful that you were able to figure it out.
I've used the FlashTool in the past to restore my LG G3. Are we able to flash individual parts of a TOT or KDZ such as a custom recovery without affecting the other parts like /system?
Didn't @tungkick use a custom TOT to root the V10?

For root permission on marshmallow you need a modified kernel which can boot only if the bootloader is unlocked.
In fact the modified tot on the V10 and the modified system.img on the G4 worked only on Lollipop.

On the T-Mobile G5 (H830) we have an unlockable bootloader, however we are unable to flash fastboot commands. Otherwise we would have been the first ones with root in the entire world (we got our phones delivered before almost everyone else).
Can we use this tool to flash a modified kernel?
Edit: for clarification wasn't trying to be annoying or snipe at you; just informing in case you didn't know about our unique situation.

The point is, the H830's "unlockable" bootloader is really "unlockable"? If commands don't work maybe the bootloader is still locked, even if it reports "unlocked"

You might very well be correct in that we have a "fake" unlockable bootloader. However, when Team Codefire released their video showing Root/TWRP they did so with a T-Mobile G5 leading me to think that they were using an unlocked device. I could be totally wrong but seems like not a stretch that they used that device for that reason.
Is it conceptually possible to use the tool to achieve root. I do not have the expertise or knowledge to know if that's even a possibility.

I think that team codefire's method don't use the "fake" unlockable bootloader, but maybe some types of exploit like on G2 and G3

LG Flash 2.0.1.6 Installer Repack
Repacked LG's original installer with @ieatacid's patched EXE.
Should make installing it all even easier... no more EXE switch.. just install and use (hopefully).
I made sure to add ieatacid's name, paypal and this thread in the Setup EXE.. this way ieatacid's name will always be attached to the LG Flash install rather than the loose LGFlash.exe getting passed around like the old megalock.dll.
Added LGUP and LG Flash directions and downloads to my All-in-One G5 Thread here.
MD5 (Setup_LGFlashTool_2.0.1.6-ieatacid.zip) = 7e2a5a6c74ac3d54a707c7fcde831655
MD5 (Setup_LGFlashTool_2.0.1.6.exe) = 6d0f8a4ad4bc01157a9c7c16f3a7c574
Download Setup_LGFlashTool_2.0.1.6-ieatacid.zip

So how does it recover the devices without the kdz or tot files?
HUGE thanks to @autoprime and @ieatacide we wouldn't be this far without y'all [emoji106] [emoji122]

root exploit for the d6603?

Hi guys sorry if this is a dumb question but I've been out of the loop on this.
Has there been a root exploit found for the D6603 Z3's?
I'm using a Xperia Z3 on the Canadian Bell network which is showing the bootloader is locked through the Sony app. I'd like to keep it but if there's nothing yet I might just sell it and get something else.
Thanks in advance.

Google 'giefroot'
You will need to downgrade to a firmware where the exploit works, but it is easy enough to do and easy enough to run the tool
AFAIK, there is a compatible FTF for your network, find one in the mega collection thread or download one from Xperiafirm

No, because the method does not involve unlocking the bootloader.
Also, the camera issue when unlocking the bootloader was sorted about a year ago

Just searching around and it looks like I need to be on 23.0.A.2.93 firmware for the exploit to work.
on my phone the current firmware is 23.0.1.A.5.77 (according to xperiafirm Bell's latest FW is 23.0.1.A.5.77 / R7B)
Is there one of these that I can use to downgrade my phone?

The carrier or region should not matter.
As long as you have a 6603 any 6603 FTF will do the job. Make sure you have a 6603 though and not a 6616. I am not to clear on the device models from across the pond and flashing a 6603 rom on 6616 (AT&T device US) will result in bootloop.
Not a problem to fix, but may not enable you to root.

What does the R7B at the end stand for and does that matter when choosing the rom to flash?
sorry to ask one more thing, can you point me in the direction on what to use to flash the rom to an earlier version?

bloody shame, I got this far and now I can't seem to be able to get it to root.
I did the firmware downgrade, went smooth.
Now following the steps here: http://www.gizmobolt.com/2015/01/24...-giefroot-rooting-tool-cve-2014-4322-exploit/
I get this message after the giefroot does its thing. It reboots the phone but I end up with the same message on each pass.
Disable antivirus anf firewall.
Alright I've made some progress!
I managed to get my phone rooted. Checked with root checker and its legit! SuperSU is installed.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to install a recovery but no dice.
I downloaded the Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.14-RELEASE.installer from here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/
and when running, after selecting the first option for rooted phones with SuperSU, it there are a million error messages adb server is out of date. killing...
at the end it says it worked but I still can't boot into recovery. The phone even shows up within the command prompt when I type adb devices. But adb reboot and key presses don't boot into recovery, it only reboots back into the OS.
Is there another way to flash a custom rom or at least a rooted rom with 5.0/5.1? Ideally I'd like to run Cyanogen on my phone but not sure if its possible without unlocking the bootloader.
Thanks in advance for any advice and help!
You will have to unlock to install CM.
Try rebooting to recovery via NDRUtils app

Both the giefroot and Dual Recovery installations install Busybox into the correct folder.
Issues normally arise when people try to manually install busybox

Not true.
Busybox can be installed via a flashable zip without any problems.
And there were people who didn' t had busybox installed after root, RootCheker said busybox is not.installed. Then they flashed the zip and voila. Perfection at it' s best.

If you follow the NDR thread int he cross device development forum you will see that [NUT] advises not to install busybox manually but to use the NDR installer or NDR flashable zip (Maybe this is what you are referring to)
As this user is having an issue installing dual recovery I would follow the advice the dev of that tool.

Guys, finally after hours of trying everything yesterday figured out my problem. A bloody POS Monoprice usb cable!!
I tried with another usb cable and sure enough it patched everything ok....
So now I have installed a prerooted/recovery version of sony's 5.0 which seems to work fine.
If CM needs to be unlocked, are there any other versions out there that will work with the locked bootloader besides the official sony roms?

This is great news for H950 users.
As an avid LG user I would recommend not to update with this firmware.
And here´s a little story to back this up:
I bought an LG D850PR version.
I accidentally flashed a tmo (D851) firmware to it.
It got absolutely bricked (no download, recovery, fastboot) (qualcomm 9008), to the point that even using the stock AT&T 10b or 20a tot of KK and LP will not revive the phone.
I used almost every single method to unbrick it (boarddiag, QPST, any flashtool you name it).
So if you mess up and your phone gets Qualcomm 9008 you´re done (Game Over).
Also I am overseas so my phones got no warranty at all and I have a lovely bricked D850PR.

I bricked my phone too, H950, it was my first time flashing a KDZ, and I did something wrong, I sent my phone to LG
But when my phone comes back, I will try again, or someone can try like last option before to send it to LG

I know... My phone was D850PR and the problem is there is no tot to extract the files from. Only KDZ format so I cant repair my phone with the original KK D850 files. Nothing happens it doesnt boot to fastboot or download. So I wouldnt suggest the flashing.

I just check and see that you have LGD850PR20A.KDZ, why you cant extract the files? I did it, I extracted from 950PR.KDZ some files like boot.img, laf.img recovery.img etc.... the reason why I cant use all the programs you said, is because the AP chipset is not supported (SP810 MSM8994) but the G3 is supported (MSM8974AC).
I know its hard to find information about it..... I hope someday we can get a tool that can fix
Well, that was my experience and I got brick
Boarddiag uses .mbn files.
How would you extract .img files from a KDZ.
Cause with LG Firmware Extractor you extract .bin files and only system.img
Boarddiag cant use KDZs because they extract in too long or too short files and with wrong extensions and weird names.
I even paid for online remote repair and the dude said its weird that with D950 normal files we couldnt repair. My phone is clean esn too.

I downloaded the SRKTools and tried to find the code to flash the partition and I found this
Code:
rename_to_bin.bat
rename_to_img.bat
So I think it use the .bin files and only rename it to .img..... same like LG Firmware Extractor, it merge all the system.bin files and rename it to .img
That was my conclusion...
It is hard to fix a QHSUSB_BULK, but you got Qualcomm 9008 AKA Super Bricked Mode XD same like me, for that we have to fix the corrupt bootloader, but I said F*** it lol Warranty!!
Haha lucky you, you have warranty. As I told you earlier I was left with a beautiful brick. Im waiting for the arrival of an Octopus Box, its got integrated Jtag. So I hope I can help others if I manage to unbrick mine. For now I'm really really pleased with Flex2 its an amazing phone.

yes, that is the G4 forums and like I posted "ATT G4 (H810) users can use the KDZ for Puerto Rico Edition (H810PR) because it has the same LTE bands to work"..... So we have the ATT Flex 2 (H950) users, in theory, we can use the Puerto Rico KDZ (H950PR) cause it is the same hardware and software
Read the op, I posted that link like a guide, the kdz file is in the first post
Has anyone tried?
I'm wondering if anyone has tried and succeeded in flashing this on a h950. I see people have failed but don't see where anyone has said it worked.
Need stock KDZ for h950
If there is a way to create a kdz from a phone running stock firmware i'm running stock still so if you tell me how to create one i will.

G flex 2 LS996 Hardbrick, What do we know, what can be done now??

Hi every1, i had bricked my LS996 while trying to flash it without knowing that there still isnt any tool available to Unbrick this model. i was probably on ZV5 and tried to flash the only available file that is ZV5 tot, after first the minios came to front, then after reading on forum, i selected boardDL instead of upgrade option in flash tool, and since then I have a brick in my hand, just on Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 mode. Have been searching all over but couldnt find anything to solve my problem yet, Any kind of help would be much appreciated, Already tried local repair centers but no use, there arent any official lg repair centers in my country.
If Devs can be kind enough to make a tool, or modify already available G3 unbrick tool, or add MSM8994 support to Boarddiag tool, we (others with same issue) will be the happiest ppl here!
Hope that some1 could do this for us.

Yeah thats the best one can do in this situation but i cant do that, as i previously stated, lg or sprint does not have any repair centers in my country. so i guess my only option for now is to wait for a tool like "MSM8994 download tool" made for OP2 which have same chipset/SoC.

The community is working hard, but remember its not their obligation to release any tool to unbrick devices for you must have read that if you did something to your device it was under your own risk. QUALCOMM9008 is not an easy state to recover from, I guess if we could contact an LG Dev that could provide us with something worth trying that could be awesome but as you know thats very difficult!
Is there flashtool as of now? Thanks in advance.
Head over to my thread. I have the same problem as you and I have been able to Compile the MPGR8994.hex programmer but my phone seems to not even respond to the flash programmer as I use QPST tools which is old version. And that might be the problem but If someone can create me the msimage for 8994 using some files from their phone it would be good.http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/help/ergent-h959-complete-device-emmc-dump-t3303353

How's that? What's the procedure?
If you desolder the emmc chip, and find the pinouts on pcb with multimeter
Maybe one more solution, ATF emmc testpoint finder (box)
If we know the pinouts, we can reflash the emmc without any special hardware (probably usb sd card reader is probably enough, with the right voltages and correct connections)
yeah, but i dont have ATF Probling Box
may be someone have and share then its easy to dump write to specific partitions
Any update or new info? I was thinking about setting up a Bounty thread so more people can get involved.

Well, I have an h950, I flashed the tot, then tryto go back to stock with stock rootedsystem of 11z.
I noticed that the tot is for 11x, so I hardbrick the phone. (QDloader 9008)
I try to write the partitions from linux, but I cannot see it, so I try to reflash the tot as LG g2 hardbricked.
so, I load the tot and dll of att in lgflash tool, and thats the message.
So I try to edit the dll with no succes, try the g2 dll and the same.
So, if we can avoid this crossflash message, we can reflash the tot or dz file with the correct dll

LS770 ZV8 bricked w/Kingroot,help w/LGup- error: cefs::initialize()

Attempting to flash ZV8 .tot built by @iBowToAndroid and get the error- error: cefs::initialize() about 4 seconds into flash. I did uninstall/reinstall all android drivers, LGup ls770 .ddl, LGup and redwnlded tot and Md5 checked. If anyone has any ideas how I might work to resolve this, I appreciate it, Thanks johnm

I will try when I get my phone back, sent to LG yet again, since I couldn't get any help for a few days. I have every intent to use kingroot again. ( I need some type of root to change hidden apn settings). The only thing that might be a problem is all that talk about qfuse bricking if you try to flash backwards. Now I don't know that qfuse would trigger or brick or whatever, but the guys on Lg-firmware-rom .com said it possibly could happen. But I'm definitely trying kingroot again. I'll report back
I got the exact same problem. I tried to use the zv7.tot got the same error: cefs::initialize()
It is exactly same 4s
will wait for zv8 to flash

There is a ZV8 tot here built by iBowToAndroid, and the Lg-rom-firmware people said it is legit, but it gave me the same error. I asked and searched and the various answers didn't yield a positive result. Since this could be the last update for stylo, (I say could, because they have the stylo2 now) I imagine the tot will get out there at some point. Since we can't root somethings got to give, so I'm hoping that some benevolent sort will give us a clean solution.

I really think it's the DLLs. The ZV7 tot works fine with the proper DLLs, and I made the ZV8 tot the exact same way. As far as an official tot available from LG, I wouldn't ever count on it....

It is because the TOT firmware was build by Z3X box, It is not a secured image.
You can not use LG UP to flash such a z3x firmware of LS770. Please use LG Flash Tool 1.8. or above to flash ZV8 tot
By the way, Down grade from ZV8 to ZV7 by flashing ZV7 firmware CAUSE A HARD BRICK Qualcomm 9008 mode.
DO not try to down grade from ZV8 to ZV7
Who please share the LS77ZV8 tot onto mega.nz, let me try to build a recovery file.
I keep reading different things about using LGup or LG flash tool 1.8. Why does one program brick and the other doesn't. How does anyone choose which one to use? You have said that you cannot flash from Zv7 to Zv5 or you will brick. Now you say you can't flash from Zv8 to ZV7 or you will brick. What can be done? Is the ZV8 tot that iBowToAndroid built good? You could actually help some people here if you would make a post to help most understand the different flash tools the tots and what bricks can be fixed, and can any downgrades work, thanks

The LS770ZV8_06.zip file is corrupt..
What did you use to determine the file is corrupt? I downloaded it, unzipped w/7zip, opened in winhec, checked the sig, that you said made it unsigned, I saw the Z3X box in winhec. SO you'll have to tell @iBowToAndroid why you think it is corrupt and maybe he can advise you. I still want to know how you can determine if your phone is qfused. You say yours is NOT. Peo-ple on here say they flashed Zv5 on top of ZV7, so what constitutes a phone with qfuse. Do you have to brick yourself and beg some one to explain? How is it you know you cannot flash ZV8 on top of ZV7? If you don't have a ZV8 tot then how do you know it won't flash? Also how are you writing a recovery when you cannot unlock the bootloader? You can't get to fastboot to flash twrp, even if you could build it. Might as well keep piling on the questions as I haven't gotten an answer on here yet.

Did you solve the Qualcomm 9008 issue?
It wasn't a 9008 issue, it just softbrick froze from kingroot. I sent phone to LG. How do you know the ZV8 tot is no good. How do you know you can't flash back from ZV8 to ZV7. You do a lot of comments, but I've never seen 1 solution. I've asked numerous questions and instead of answering, you write questions back every single time. How do you know the ZV8 tot is no good, and how do you know that a flash back from ZV8 to ZV7 will brick?

Some repair shop has "factory" image which can skip the 'anti-rollback" or "Qfuse check".
after flash the "factory" image, your phone is boot into "mini os" mode;
and then you need to reflash the stock "user" image onto the PHONE.
ALL Android Phone manufacture have two kinds of Frimware: "user image" and "factory image".
Look what i got from my phone; You can not get all those files from a TOT firmware build by Z3X.

Hello, If you are using LG flash tool 2.0.1.6 to open the LS770ZV78 firmware shared by @iBowToAndroid, You can find the file is not valid, LG Flash tool shows fail to load due to CRC check error.
The LG Flash tool 2.0.1.6 patched on xda forum is not good at alll.
If you want to try, please download and install the original one.
I have the dongle megalock shared via "USB-OVER-NETwork", You can run it, and to check the Qfuse status,,firmware CRC check and etc

[RECOVERY][3.2.3-0][fujisan]Unofficial TWRP recovery for Axon M

First, let me apologize for the rough guide I'm going to deliver I'll clean this up in due time.
1.) Let's get some files downloaded. So here is a guide by @deadman96385 that details Qfil and the actual process of flashing.
2.) Let's incorporate that into my guide
* You'll choose the programmer from my TWRP folder
* You'll choose the rawprogram0.xml from my TWRP folder
3.) Time to flash....just press Download there's nothing else to do.
4.) Boot into recovery...do I need to explain how?
* Warning* Do not flash Magisk requires a separate boot.img I haven't made it just yet.
So with all this, what is the next step in the process for custom rom installs? Waiting on mine in the mail so I can begin looking into everything as well, sadly I picked the att variant so it looks like things will be more difficult for me.
good work @Unjustified Dev And @deadman96385

I don't know about the other variants. Each firmware is signed so I can't test their Roms, but I used their updated 8.1 proprietary files to build Lineage.

Does going the old "data wipe then flash boot img without encryption" not work anymore? If so then my bad, been a while since I've worked with a phone that is locked down with signed firmware. Was looking into doing that right now.
Edit: And I don't mean via flashboot because first boot should cause it to resign

Hello!
Thank you for the first ray of light Please, can you answer some questions?
1) As far as I know, AT&T version of Z999 has locked bootloader. Have you tried this TWRP with AT&T Z999 (not T-mob, China or Russian)?
2) As far as I know, AT&T version of Z999 has non-standard EDL mode and until now there was only one tool capable of flashing it, "Uni-Android Tool" for $49. The usual QFIL doesn't see 9008 COM-port on this phone. So, how does your TWRP gets flashed? Or is the included "firehose" an already patched one for AT&T Z999?
3) If all of these works, can root be (some day) obtained with locked bootloader?
I live in a country with GSM 900\1800, UMTS 2100 & LTE B3 & B20, so right now my Z999 is useless as a mobile device & works only as a small tablet. The root is totally necessary for me to unlock additional bands & I have faith in You
Thanks once again,

1.) I have the att variant
2.) The all have edl mode I sniffed the firehose from uniandroid and had a friend reconstruct it to get it working. And the usual qfil does see the phone. You're more than likely in dfu mode and not edl. Uniandroid can send the phone from dfu to edl. You can adb reboot to edl to get in 9008. The issue was the programmer was incorrect.
3.) Root can probably be obtained I just had no interest. I'll look into it later if I have time. Also I'm not sure if you can unlock more bands never looked into that before.

Thanks for the answers! Wonderful news, the ability to flash AT&T phone with QFill changes everything. As for the bands, I've seen a lot of articles on how to unlock Qualcomm phones with NV editor, and had success with several Nexus-es & LG's. Let's hope that after (if...) root is obtained, one of the methods works. It will literally breath the new life into this phone & will make it useful everywhere in the world.
WBR, Draco.
Just an FYI, only running this didn't work for me, I changed the img to recovery.img and used the firehose with the stock files, I edited the boot though to remove secure boot.

So I tried flashing my bricked Axon M with the provided firehose file, and using provided B37 firmware, but I keep getting an error associated with "userdata.img is 0 bytes!" and if I delete the file, I then get an error stating "userdata.img could not be found!" any ideas?

Do you have spaces in your username? Put firehose programmer file inside the firmware folder, and put the whole folder in C:\Z999 (without any spaces or long filenames). Run Qfil as admin. And never flash phones from DESKTOP...
