I did the Marshmallow update last Thursday and I am having USB charging issues. I can wireless charge but, it no longer recognizes the USB charge. However, it does recognize my thumb drive so, it is a marshmallow issue. Anyone hear of patches for this one?

Try clearing the cache.. Shut the phone off and then press the volume up button, home button and power button at the same time and when the screen comes back on select to wipe cache but don't select factory reset by accident.

Well if that doesn't help you then you should try to factory reset so there's nothing on it.
After factory reset, multiple video chats with Samsung, and a visit to Best Buy to talk to the Samsung 'tech' , Verizon sent me a refurbished phone. Now I have one other issue; how do I get the constant update notices to stop popping up? I wont update until I have too.

Use an app called package disabler and look for "updates" and place the checkmark to disable it. Usually if you select later the first time it should ask if you want it to not ask again but if not then just use that app but don't go crazy disabling everything unless you know what it's for. The phone can get stuck at the Verizon screen if you mess around to much but there is some guides available to show you what you can and can't disable.

Hi all,
So I got the Infinity on Thursday. I used the battery yesterday until 1%, and then turned the tablet off last night.
I start charging the tablet today, and when I try to use it the tablet is completely unresponsive. It keeps going to the camera app and takes pictures with flash. I tried using the pin reset button on the side and it does nothing. Turning the tablet off does nothing either - it turns itself back on, and once its unlocked it automatically goes to the camera app and starts taking pictures.
At some point I was able to get into the settings menu, and did a factory reset. However, it is doing the same thing now after the factory reset.
I ordered from Amazon - whats my best course of action? Return it to amazon? Send it to ASUS?
That's very strange, I guess I would return it, but meanwhile you can try flashing firmware manually. Download US or WW from this site http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ASUS+Transformer+Pad+Infinity+TF700T&p=20&s=16
and follow the guide posted today by one user (my earlier posts on this were pretty messy as I was struggling with it, so hopefully this will be more helpful): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29167483&postcount=49
I've just done it myself, doesn't wipe anything from /data, so if I were you I'd wipe data and cache first (from the recovery mode) and then do all the steps described in this ^ post

That's very strange. Might I ask how your homescreen is set up? Maybe it's just registering a buttload of phantom touches to where your camera app is.
Let's say someone managed to pair the watch to something that it's not compatible, say, a windows phone.
Now the watch is stuck on the screen that wants one to open the Smart COnnect app.
We all know that windows phone suck and doesnt have app for ****.
So how would one master reset in order to repair the watch to an android os phone?
Let's just say that holding down the power button for 5 minutes did nothing as well.
What's your solution to this problem?

In this situation coudn't you try to connect from an Android smartphone?
Other attempts: try if recharging the smartwatch unlock the screen, or let it discharge completely.

That's the weird thing, it wont pair with another phone since it's at the screen with the smart app request.
Sony's site want me to hold down the power for 15 seconds, or go to the Settings menu and select Reset.
The later choice is not an option since i cannot access the menu.
Gonna give the battery drain a try.

I'd try the power button first of all... if you keep it pushed the watch should power off and then you'll be able to power it on again and restart the pairing process...

Hello. Just got my second s6 edge today. First one I updated and got the usual screen rotation issue. This one I have NOT clicked on the update and so far it works just fine. Is it the update messing these phones up or is it something else? I know this has been asked a lot but I wanted to ask instead of digging through tons of sites on this all night. If it is the update is there a way to turn off notifications for updates for now? Im in my 14 day window but don't want to mess with going to the store again for number 3. Thank you for any help on this matter! Tempted to update to see but waiting. Using PC to charge instead of the fast charger as well.
It's not the update. I've updated mine and it's fine. Download the update, install the update, turn off the phone. Restart into recovery mode ( hold vol up, home button and power button until the recovery comes up) Do a master reset/wipe. Reboot into the phone and you should be good to go.

So this isn't a hardware malfunction with the gyroscope? Fast charge is ok and all?
I did the OCF update and no issues so far. Fast charging, gyroscope, auto brightness, deep sleep, all seem to be working fine.
What does a master reset/wipe do?

It wipes all your data and programs and returns the phone to factory default. Its like when you first got the phone, you have to go thru setup all over again. It actually called Factory Data Reset
I like doing it whenever I get a new update just so that it's fresh and clean. I'm talking about the one on to recovery screen. Not the factory reset in the Settings. I think there's a difference but I could be wrong.

That's good to know, thanks.
I'm personally gonna hold off flashing until 5.1 comes out. My S6E is just too stable with great battery life & no software issues and I'm nervous about something changing.
Hope Samsung releases 5.1 or 5.1.1 quickly.

I bought a used S2 Classic on ebay. It came factory reset, so I went to install and setup when I received it. I was able to install Samsung Gear on my Galaxy S5 with no problems, but once I was able to connect to the watch, it stopped behaving. Any move I try to make upon the watch itself simply results in a one second look at the screen, before going dark for about 3 seconds, and then flashing the screen for another second. It will do this a few times and then quit. I have tried several factory resets, as well as removing all the gear software from my phone and rebooting it as well. When the apps are finished it tries to update the watch, but the watch says 'update failed, please visit a samsung service center.' Sadly I live in the back of beyond, so.....
Anyways, please help. I have been scouring both this site and google for two days without any answers. I really don't want to have to return this. It's so pretty. And shiny.....we like shiny..... :silly:
After messing some more, I did notice that the update stops at 13% every time and then fails. I have seen this same problem on another post, but no solution was forthcoming short of the aforementioned visit to the ever-distant samsung service center.
Thinking I may be returning this one and shelling out the extra $$ for a new one.
UPDATE: Got sick of this dead thing, so after much ado about nothing, I am sending it back for a refund. I went to Best Buy today and bought a new one, as they had them on sale. Love it so far. Not gonna miss the dead one. LOL
I have the same problem. I think I will need to get it to a service point.
While it performed a firmware update the HR-app did checked my heartrate and I guess this stopped the firmware update.
What now happens is: vibrate-samsung logo-screen off-repeat
When I use these steps:
-switch off device*
-press and hold Power button, till you get the Samsung Gear Rebooting.. Screen.*
-press power button several times very short
-the bootloader menue should open
-select recovery by pressing the power button.*
-apply selection by pressing and holding the power button*
The option recovery is not available, only continue download and Power off.
I guess there is no software left to recover.
Do you know if there is anything I can do myself now?
(There is no wireless download option also, only normal download)
With thanks and greetings wishing everyone a nice day
Hey all, I'm just curious if anyone else's phone has been acting up after the Oreo update. Ever since Oreo was released, apps would freeze and it forces me to restart my phone. Even apps like camera, contacts, and dialer freeze and it's frustrating. I literally restart my phone about 10 times if not more a day. I've contacted Huawei themselves and have done exactly as they instructed and I'm still having the same problems. Does anyone have the solution to this?
Bad sd card, sim card?
I get that notification throughout the day
I've had Oreo on my Mate 9 since December 2017, not a single application behaves like that. Haven't even performed a factory reset after the update, let alone after the monthly security patches. Everything works just like they should. I'd say perform a factory reset, but I'm sure you've tried that already.

Can you do this on a phone that is not rooted?
I have a similar issue with my phone rebooting 2 times a day.

Sure. Turn off device, then turn on holding vol+ and power buttons until Huawei logo shows up. Select wipe cache and reboot.
