Im coming from a mac so i picked up an older PC running windows xp so i could download Odin and flash my phone since its pretty much useless right now. I can install the drivers and the computer recognizes my phone but when i plug it in it says new hardware Samsung android USB Modem.
so i try to install it and it always gets stuck trying to install C:\windows\system32\drivers
it tells me that it might not function properly because it wasnt installed correctly.
I dont know what else to do

Where did you get the drivers (they should ahve been downloaded right from the samsung site)? Also what USB mode to you have your Phone in? I beleive for direct connection it has to be in Mass Storage mode. I didnt have any issues when I installed Kies onto my XP Machine and the phone was recognized right away.
sorry .. i just dont know how to use a macbook . and ive connected my phone to the laptop and it charges the phone but i cant seem to find it on my laptop.. need help pls.
What device are you using? Anything using MTP wont mount in OS X.
When I plug in my p3113 into the computer while in download mode, it tries to install driver software, it does, then tells me the device was not successfully installed, I have Samsung USB drivers installed from kies, I've tried different usb ports to no avail.
I've been rooting phones since the G1, I've been through this process several times with several Samsung devices and have never had this problem, so is my computer just old or what?
I am running a fresh install of W7 Ultimate service pack 1. Don't come at me with searching either because I have and haven't found a solution.
Would like to get this done so my kids can continue downloading games, don't really wanna have to use someone elses computer but that is what it is gonna have to come down to unless someone here knows the answer to my problem.
Seems you know what you are doing. Only thing I can think of....did you turn USB debugging on? I believe it needs to be on for Odin.
Also do you have the proper drivers? If you install Kies and plug in your phone, your comp will download the needed drivers for your device, perhaps this may help
Hi there, my phone is soft bricked and freezes at the Samsung logo when booting up.. been reading / trying all sorts but can't seem to resolve it so thought i'd come here for help.
Windows or Odin wont recognize my device even though I have the latest Samsung Drivers installed, Windows is saying 'USB Device not recognized' and that it may have malfunctioned.
Could I have messed up the phones USB drivers which is why they're only half working? If so is it possible for me to put something onto my SD card to then install through CWM?
Any help is much appreciated as this is really starting to frustrate me.
I am trying to unlock bootloader on a new htc one x(at&t) that i recently got. I have windows 10. When i connect my device to the computer it recognizes it easily. However, when i boot into fastmode, it doesnt recognize the device at all. i tried updating driver but nothing changed. What should i do???? please help me!

you probably need a PC running WinXP / Win7 to do it
the phone cant be recognized in Win8 or later even the HTC driver installed properly
