Hello Friends,
I have tried to root my OPO running on cos 13 through TWRP. Unfortunately the rooting failed and the phone failed to start, It hangs in "cyanogen mod ready " boot animation screen. some how I have managed to flash the phone to stock OS and again updated it to COS 13.
Now I would like to root the phone , Please someone provide me the right SUPERSU link !
so that I can use it through TWRP.
P.S: The bootloader is already Unlocked.
Thanks in advance :good:
I'm dealing with the same problem, and I've had to flash the system partition back to 5.1.1 and then upgrade to 6.0.1 3 times. Each time I try installing different versions of SuperSU It hangs. Apparently you aren't supposed to install it, and enable root from the developer options, but I don't have any such option.

You need to flash the beta sytemless SU, downloads are at the bottom of this post. Latest is BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64161125&postcount=3
Ok, so I found a Beta version of SuperSU 2.7.1, and it seems to have worked. It was a different install process, saying it detected a "systemless root" or something, and it needed to patch the boot image. After that I appear to have root access again..
https://download.chainfire.eu/932/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip
Edit: Whoops, guess I should have refreshed the page before posting.. What you said is correct Ken.
Thank you

Okay, folks. I need some help. I was not able to flash new Cyanogen ROM's so I tried updating my TF300T to the latest US firmware. Here are the results and where I stand now.
1. TWRP 2.5 is loaded in recovery.
2. Latest ASUS firmware is installed.
3. Lost root.
4. Tried to re-root and cannot. SuperSU fails every time I try to update the binary.
5. I wipe everything and can boot into recovery.
6. I tell TWRP to flash the latest ASUS firmware zip file.
7. Firmware flashes but then when I go to reboot in TWRP it says that no OS is available!!
8. I can swipe the lock and reboot into 4.2.1 but obviously no root.
9. I have tried flashing the signed superuser file and it flashes and says successful.
10. When I use root checker pro to see if I have root it tells me that I do not have root.
What in the hell is going on????????? Any help or outline of steps would be appreciated.

Bootloader info plz. Unless you were using the experimental CM10.1 build (or a select few others), it sounds like you tried to flash a ROM compatible only with an older bootloader onto the "latest" build (from your description).

You already have an existing thread on this problem, and were told what needs to be done and where to go to get that information and additional assistance... Why are you not using the resources that were given to you previously? There is no magic fix, something was done incorrectly or you are using the incorrect files.
The answer and all support you will need are in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-how-to-root-moto-g-2015-model-t3448572

So you fastboot flashed the ROM and verified it booted successfully (an initial boot is essential prior to rooting, it sets up the RAM disk and other boot image things the first time), rebooted, flashed TWRP (3.0+) and backed up, did the echo command and flashed SuperSU 2.78 SR1 and it still failed?
Flash the 2.62-3 beta of SuperSU https://download.chainfire.eu/751/SuperSU/ it forces systemless install regardless of detected options. You can update normally in the Play Store, then update the binary in the app.
One of those two methods will work, if it doesn't then you have something more going on then meets the eye or there is a piece of information you are not giving us. This is a tested and working process on every single known Moto G 2015 variant.
BTW, clearing cache and dalvik is not required when rooting, you are just increasing the time it takes to boot for no reason.

Thanks, thats works for me..! i tried 3 time until work
PD: (when you root, install recovery or unlock bootloader without enough time happens this kind of things)..
Hello.
I have a Pixel with stock Android that was rooted with Chainfire SuperSU 2.78SR3
Last night I've noticed that the phone isn't rooted anymore and has installed the Feb security update OTA. (I only had the Nov update installed).
I've tried rerooting using the same method (Fastboot boot) and got stuck in a bootloop.
I had to flash a clean stock rom to get it out of the bootloop.
Next I installed TWRP. That worked.
Next I tried installing a ZIP version of SuperSU 2.78SR4. The Zip installs but when I boot into Android SuperSU says that the phone isn't rooted.
Anyone had anything similar happen to them?

You might need to flash back to stock to fix this. If you do let us know so we can help you save your data and apps.
You used the wrong SU. You need 2.79 SR3. Note the 9 on there, you used 2.78.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
Copy it to your phone and boot to TWRP. Then INSTALL it from TWRP.
I have a Honor 8 with Emui 5.0.1, Android 7 model FRDL09 , build FRD- L09C432B394.
I have unlocked the bootloader and installed 3.0.3-0 Twrp but when i try to install SuperSU from the recovery i can't (the phone start the operation but after 2 or 3 seconds on the screen there are some very fast message and the phone just reboot. I was able to read the message that is:
- System-less Mode, Boot Image Support required
- creating image
I tried with 2 different version of SuperSU (sr3-SuperSU-2.79-Sr3- 2017 0114223742.zip and SuperSU-v2.82-Sr5-Permissive.zip but i have the same problem
Anyone can help to figure out what i'm doing wrong?
Tia

Yea i just did that reading better the forum and i figured out that i was using the wrong twrp version
I still used the official SuperSu 2.82, do you think it is better go for magisk?
Thank you for your reply
For me is better magisk.
When I want update my device, I uninstall magisk with the uninstalled twrp zip, and then, I update with the full update package and 0 problems.

Flash this Version from TWRP
SR1-SuperSU-v2.82-SR1-20170608224931.zip
This is an updated root and unroot method for the s7/s7 edge.
I updated the zip file with the latest eng boot
Uploaded the latest stock files
Credit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-s7-s7edge-oreo-nougat-t3819616
Use V10 Odin Files this will allow you to root the s7/s7 sdge on the latest firmware. (02/09/2020)
Directions:
This works for Oreo And Nougat Roms
As always there is a chance of bricking your phone
1. Download and extract S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root.zip
2. Reboot your phone to download mode
3. Inside the S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root folder you will find an Odin_Firmware folder. Use Odin and flash the Eng Boot Image for your
phone
4. Once phone is rebooted and connected to computer click on the cmd-here.exe and type root.bat in the command window and hit enter
5. Follow directions on the command window
6. You can only use system root on Oreo
7. Once root is done and root bat closes leave your phone alone for a few minutes it may reboot a couple of times
8. Sprint Users This should work for you as well just let me know if your phone reboots with eng boot.img installed like it did on nougat while try too run the root.bat. I may need to change some things
9. With this system root do not update su binary if in anyway you get something asking you to update binaries ignore it. You can also disable notifications about updating binaries. This will not affect su app
10. Don't flash any superuser zips in recovery that are not made by me
S7 Oreo Nougat Adb Advanced Root V13: https://archive.org/download/s7oreo...Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root_V13 (02-08-2020).zip
Return to stock:
Open odin
Reboot in download mode
Apply files
Plus in device
Flash to device
VZW-G935VVRUACSH1: https://archive.org/download/vzwg935vvruacsh120191014133427/VZW-G935VVRUACSH1-20191014133427.zip

Well that sucks. I highly doubt we'll see a root method then at this point. Thanks for replying.
