Smartphones compatibles with bcmon - Android General

Hi guys, i have been past a long time trying compile the kernel of my samsung galaxy s4 to use the kali linux on them. But yesterday i let them fall in the ground, and broke the screen. So i am looking for smartphones to buy, but my requisit is that the smartphone run the bcmon. If anyone knows the smartphones that runs bcmon, tell me please.

I have an old Samsung S2 from virgin that will run it. I think the t mobile and ATT variety also will run it. It will support packet inject and monitor mode. I don't think bcom has had any support for a while, so only a couple of older phones will support it.

[Q] Android noob, Generic device, A few questions?

First let me introduce myself. The name is Darcy and I have been casually using linux and other *nix OS for about a decade. I am in school working on a programing degree ATM, and am a pretty quick study. Anyways, I without much research bought my wife a generic 7" tablet running android 1.6. I know what processor it has and Im hoping that leads me to a place to start. Ok so the device is a "Kasser Net'sGo" we didnt realize that its just a china pad with another companys name on it when we ordered it. So most of the apps dont run correctly, and in general the device sucks(on a software level the HW is fine although generic).
Anyways it apears that i can get into recovery mode to flash if i had no other choices. But since there are no official roms im hoping to find a build thats based on the same CPU or similar hardware to find a starting point. Its running the Marvell Aspen 800mhz chip and standard ddr2. Sadly thats all we have been able to find out about this device.
I have compiled custom builds for linux before, and i have now purchased a Gtab so i have a less garbage device to test some things on(i have allready flashed 2 different roms and fooled with a bunch of the settings). But we would realy like to do something with this other tablet. So if anyone can point me in the direction of some info on how to do android builds or a repository of chipset drivers and such that might help me that would be greatly appreciated.

experts,i need help rooting the latest samsung gs wifi 4.0(YP-G1)!thx

i 've got this galaxy s wifi 4.0(YP-G1) for my 1st android device,
unfortunately i discovered android doesn't support ad-hoc connection and now i can't connect it to the internet
so i really need u experts help for rooting this machine and install the adhoc patch
pls help thx a lot!
Hopefully we'll get roms & roots when the player will get more popular! But with all that patent fuss with Apple, things don't look well at all. The Galaxy Tab 7 got pulled from Samsung's IFA exhibition stand...
The device is going to be sold in the US and comes with gingerbread. Perhaps we will have some news soon

[Q] Do PDAs still exist?

Hi,
I've been an Android fan for a while, and as much as I love Android smartphones, I was look around to own a PDA.
I know smartphones can sometimes be called PDAs with more features, but I was looking for something more "simpler", but it still has to have decent functionality.
I haven't really heard of any PDAs before, although I know a lot do run Palm OS or Windows (do any run Android?) and I was wondering what you guys recommend in terms of PDAs.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Samsung just released two android non-phones.
They call them the Galaxy Player, 4.0 and 5.0. The numbers indicate their screen size.
They are just like an iPod touch, but Android.
That's the only mass market available Smart device that isn't a phone that I know of. Palm was still churning put PDAs not that long ago, but I think they stopped producing anything like that when they launched the pre running webOS.

Trio Stealth G5 10 - Android 7+ Custom ROM?

(Apologies if this is in the wrong area!)
Hello all, I'm new to the forums as a member but a visitor for years. Figured I would finally join up and ask around about an old tablet I received recently from a friend.
I received a Trio Stealth G5 10 and it seems to be running Android Kit Kat (4.4.2) and doesn't have any official OTA updates to 5 or higher. Due to Kit Kat being highly outdated and what I want to use this tablet for does not support Android 4-6, I was hoping someone out there could help with this predicament, as I have no other devices except a phone that I cannot afford to root at all costs due to its importance to my life (it's a USA Samsung I use with cell service. I'm not having it confiscated or pop up as stolen on the network as it's a lifeline for me and I don't have the money for a new phone).I
Does anyone on here, anyone at all have this tablet too and know how I can get it running Android 7+, even if it's an unofficial ROM?
if anyone knows of Trio Stealth tablets and any TWRP builds and custom unrooted ROMs running Android 7 or higher for the Trio Stealth G5 10, please let me know immediately! I have a very small bit of knowledge in programming so I can also be guided for anyone who can help me build one or both of them myself!

Alcatel A502DL Android upgrade

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but I have a smartphone i wanted to upgrade.
Alcatel A502DL which has Android 8.1 which is like horrendously basic. Was wondering the best process to upgrade. If I got to root it thats fine. I know a bit about computer software, but know very little with actual code programming other than basic copy/paste.
It's a phone I mostly would like to have on Wifi and if I can also get it unlocked (cant unlock from the service provider due to it needing to be on their service for x amount of time) to run it off of a Mint Mobile plan as well.
Looking for the best Android OS, if it can handle Android 11 or if 12 is out that would be great. The phone can be used for testing the new OS. Also got a Samsung Galaxy J3 Achieve that needs unlocked as well (same situation as the Alcatel phone) because I wanted to use that on Mint Mobile as well.
