Database Info

Need your help to root my S6, tried most methods, no luck :(

Hi my device is Samsung S6 SM-G920I (Indian version), Baseband ver. G920IDVU3DOL5, it's running on 5.1.1, I tried rooting my phone, tried almost all methods available on internet but nothing worked, can someone please help me to do that, your help is much appreciated.

I don't know how to root DOL5 but if you really need root ,download and downgrade to DOK9 from sammobile (there isn't much difference between DOK9 AND DOL5) and flash unikernel 8002 , TWRP is optional

If you want rooten, then flashe SuperSU 2.6.6 or Hacker Kernel with SuperSU

Could you please use google to teach yourself to flash a costom recovery...in recovery you will be able to flash both files

Flash SuperSU in TWRP.
Hacker kernel:
TWRP - Cache and Dalvik empty - flash kernel (I empty again afterwards Cache and Dalvik Cache)
Boot.

Boot loader on lg g pro 2 can not be unlocked. Now we can use only "bump" method to run custom kernels and recoverys.
TWRP_Recovery.apk for easy recovery installation added. First post updated.

You need firmware based on 4.4 bootloader.

wanted to know... i saw in advance wipe... if i wipe system... will all apps in system.. odex... will it be deleted? is it safe to do it when you install new rom? ty

It will wipe system partition (all system apps and files). You can wipe system if you want to install new rom but there is no need for that. It's not recommended. Factory reset from TWRP is enough if you want to install new rom.

Can I install apk direct over lollipop? Now I am on tizen.

You can install apk over any ROM, based on kitkat bootloader.
Install recovery from apk or from other recovery.

Xenius thanks for reply. Can you please tell me how I can check the boot loader version? As I flash kk kdz, root, philz recovery and then tizen. So whats my boot loader?
I am confused cause tizen cant restore from nandroid backup and have chances to repeat kdz flashing which I want to avoid. ???

buy lg g pro 2..dont update to lolipop.. root on kitkat with towelroot.. and install lolipop flash zip or tizen... and install mlk kernel

I can make a script for ADB, establishing kitkat bootloader and the bumped kernel and recovery to the stock 5.0.2 firmware. will need only root.

Why? You can flash recovery on 10f firmware.
Why you need bumped 10f kernel?
On 10f bootloader you can use any kernel/recovery.

Ok. But After rooting i have to install a recovery to flash any zip later right? With the provided apk(in this thread) can i install the recovery like a normal app?

yes instAll as normal apk.. then go to app settings..theres flash thing.. click it.. reboot.
i notice one thing backup restore not working for me.. always put flashable zip rom on internal and sd card.. just incase.. since i dont have a computer beside me at times.

Recovery for Marshmallow?

Hello all! I recently updated my Spring Note5 to Marshmallow! I quickly installed the Aurora Kernel to root it and got xposed installed via FlashFire. I was just curious as to if there was a Custom Recovery for marshmallow yet? I tried the latest TWRP and got stuck in a bootloop (soft brick). I was able to recover it luckily. Is there a working custom recovery yet? Thank you!

Twrp is working but I got stuck in a bootloader trying to flash the twrp update with flashfire Odin is best way I had to use Odin to recover out of the bootloop

The file that I posted you don't need to use Odin or flashfire just install the Zip file then you can boot the cell into TWRP

How do I install the zip? Through stock recovery?

[Updatable][MOD][ROOT][SM-T585/580 stock][6.0-8.1]with TWRP for Odin][2x1]

Hey. I did and successfully tested the mod of stock firmware 6.0 T585XXU2AQA2 SEK region (Ukraine, although it does not matter).
The bottom line is that, you install via Odin the firmware itself and the custom recovery - TWRP , that is, two in one . And after successfully installation firmware via Odin automatically opens immediately TWRP, where I recommend immediately to install SuperSU or latest magisk and then fix or attach below . In result we have a stock firmware with TWRP and root.
Notice. Do factory reset before flashing.
P.S. I tried this mod over current 6.0 rom with installed TWRP. I think if try this mod without installed TWRP you need checked internal memory. If you have 0mb you need to do Format data before flashing supersu and fix.

Hello, I have a simple question. I am getting the SM-T585 soon and found your thread while searching for TWRP for that tablet. I like the idea of having stock with the custom recovery. I have currently the Tab 9.7 with uses a single file for firmware. The question I have is where in odin do I put the HOME file? or can that one be skipped? Thanks in advance for any responses that answer this. Peace

CSC HOME saved your data . CSC OXE format your data . Do your choice.
Next 3 files to appropriate tabs : BL to BL , AP to AP , CP to CP .

I have used ODIN to flash TWRP : no problem.
After some modifications on the Settings,I made a BackUP.
Now my question : is it possible to install this Backup via ODIN ?

No , only you can restore your backup via TWRP.

Yes. Need to do wipe data&cache or use CSC OXE not Home.

So the 6.0 is included with your file??

Mod have full stock archive . Only AP tar.md5 changed

UPDATE. I made another mod based on the firmware T585XXU2BRB2 with cut userdata and without CSC. TWRP latest 3.2.1-0 from @followmsi. CSC can not be added to Odin, it remains the same.

You should also be using the latest SuperSU, I've seen older versions brick newer phones
