Is this happened after you root your device? I'm using the same version, but my android os is ranging 800-850mb usage. After I root my phone it feels, getting slower.
By the way I'm USING B103

Nope, actually I'm a newbie in terms of rooting.
After I root my device I'm currently observing it. Came across to this thread and share my situation as well, even my battery I'm keeping an eye for it. Had one problem where as before I go to sleep, the only app working while my phone is lock is my alarm clock, I set on smart plan and while sleeping my wifi is still on. Form 1:30am to 7:30am my battery starts in 66% and when I woke up its in 53%..
Having 800mb-900mb running in Android os usage Is alarming? Pls enlighten me. I think I messed up my phone because I rooted it..

Hi, as i am also a newbie, i am not sure i am able to help much. but I think it could be a rogue app that is causing the large battery drain on your phone.
after playing around for awhile, i discovered the issue for my phone lagging, which is caused by the notification app (Floatify). i have stopped the app and my phone is back to being speedy and fast. perhaps you can try to disable or stop some apps to see if it helps.

Where can I see this? Is this the one that you ask? Kindly see the attached link. http://imgur.com/1xzDWUS

Froyo/Sense Low Battery Life Investigation : android.process.acore task

Hello everybody !
A few people seem to complain about low battery life with Froyo/Sense roms. As I may have a little clue about the origin of the problem, I felt like opening a new topic.
Seems like the task android.process.acore is stuck at 100% CPU for some of us.
Rom Used : LeeDroid v1.8, with latest radio

Any idea about the origin of this problem ?
Thanks for your help
is it a cpu percentage in a last column?
so there are 100%+6%+7% at the same moment?
a google search brings this thread up

Doesn't look like. Disabled contact syncing and it doesn't change anything
That figure does not mean 100% CPU taken up with that process, it means 100% of the 19%. Your cpu is not running at 100%.
You have LauncherPro doing something weird there?
try going into testing mode ie dial *#*#4636#*#*
select battery history
change top line to cpu usage,
I have the following
android system total time 5secs
android.process.acore total time 4secs
htc sense 2secs
etc
or download spare parts from market
The screenshot is from my phone.
It is running LeeDroid 1.7a with Launcher Pro Plus v0.7.4.0.
They stay at 100% when the CPU load is not 100%.
They both have the package: com.fede.launcher.
So is LauncherPro doing something wrong or not?
kill launcher pro and see what happens. Its not a rom issue - i do not use launcher pro and have no issues.
i have also this 2 at 100%, what are anyway?
yes they're com.fede.launcher.

Same for me, cpu load went back to 0 when I killed LauncherPro.

Android System Info
I have exactly the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S (Firmware I9000XWJM2, Root, ext4 Speedfix)
I also use Android System Info and my screen shot would exactly look like the screen shots posted above.
I noticed a somehow slow behaviour of the device, this started a few days ago. Restarting Launcher Pro doesn't really help. After 5 minutes the two Launcher Pro tasks are back with 100% cpu load. The overall cpu load ist between 20 and 30%.
I have 2 at 100% also but load is between 7 & 27%

Can some admin please rename this thread.
I don't believe it's a froyo/sense issue because i'm using
a Samsung ROM on my Galaxy S (eclair, TouchWIZ), it's not a custom rom.
Does anybody have a solution for this problem?? It started a few days ago.

What is 'Mediaserver' and why is draining my battery?

Hi, the other day i installed the JellyBean leak. And since that day, the battery had a GREAT life.
But, today, i don't know why (Well, yes, i do now why) my battery had a terrible life.
And, there's a curious process that is killing it.
It's name is: 'Mediaserver'.

don't know but you might need to un freeze drm for i believe some type of files needs the service to be playable
why fix it if it ain't broken ?

Forget about my question. My english is bad, and i can't express myself right
I want to stop that process, because is killing my battery and i don't want to.
So, i freezed the process, and today i'll see if that process still bother me.
Edit:
Well @nikufellow, your answer didn't work. I freezed the DRM content. But, still drain the battery.
But, the good part, is that i desactivated the sync, and now, i think the battery is going great.
It was that all the time (i believe). The sync of the accounts.
Edit 2:
Mmm, nope. I was wrong. The 'mediaserver' process is in the top again, with 43% usage.
Are you using Google Play Music? Maybe experiment with that. Maybe disable sync for just that, or remove the app and see if anything changes.

If you have backups on the phone and they are in DUP change them to tar.

WOW.... does no one read or search on google anymore?
All you need to do to get the mediaserver app to stop "searching" your phone all the time and draining the battery, and using CPU, is to put a file in all your media folders on the phone that is empty and called .nomedia
Notice that there is a dot (period) before the filename, this is important.

I am not trying to be a jerk here, but with all the posts in here, and it appears that no-one even thought to google this, just irks me a little bit.
To the OP, create an empty file in all the directories on your SDcard named .nomedia, and see if that helps to stop the 'mediaserver' from eating CPU and battery. This has been an issue since the 1.8 days of android with certain file types and has only gotten worse over the years.

I already did all the pseudo-solutions that appears on google. And no one works. That's why i made this thread.
But, the solution that works for me, was, formatting the sdcard. That was the solution that i don't wanted to do.
You had the two solutions.
DRM freeze and tar instead of dup.

As a member stated it's the google play music (i believe). Cuz since I stopped using Google play music and switched to poweramp, i don't see it on ma battery consumption list!

"Android OS" keeping phone awake... and using data?!

Hey,
I have a Fido RHD on the latest official ROM (no root or unlock). I have noticed over the past few weeks that the battery life has been a lot worse, but I can't think of any particular app that may be causing it. Strangely, Android OS is using a lot of CPU time and also sending data!
Things I have tried to do:
Stopped all the optiona "location services" for Google apps (e.g. Google Now)
Installed Snapdragon Battery Guru (but it is currently in learning mode)
Uninstalled all unneccessary apps
How can I find out what is hammering the "Android OS" process, and why it is keeping the phone awake? Is there a more advanced battery stats app that could help with this?

Hello Suman,
I have a similiar issue here. Android OS is not heading my battery stats, but it held the phone awake for a reasonably long time. You should try downloading BetterBatteryStats (the apk is available here in xda dev for free, but the developer did a nice work on it and the app is very useful, so I think you should support the developer if you don't mind). For a better understand of what's going on open BBS and set a custom ref before you go to sleep. Save the dump immediatly after you wake up. Post it here. Anyone that understand partial wakelocks will be able to give you a better support.
I have seen another guy here with a similar issue, but still unresolved. Also, I still have the problem, but my ROM is different (Vivo - Jelly Bean).
If you have received the update recently via OTA, you can try wiping data. Not sure if will help, but wiping data after receiving major updates is always a good and recommended practice.
Also, if you have instant upload on, turn it off. A bug seems to cause the instant upload to try syncing every minute so you'll have high times of SyncLoopWakelock keeping the phone awake most of the time. It happened to me. If a cloud backup of your photos is very necessary as it's to me I recommend Camera Uploads feature on the Dropbox app.
Let me know if something helps!

Ok, I will give BBS a go, thanks for the recommendation.
I did a factory reset as soon as I received the JB OTA (I always do this after any major software update). The Android OS problem did not start right after the update - it is a fairly recent problem.
I don't have Google+ camera upload turned on (but I do have Dropbox camera upload, as you suggested).
Thanks,
Su
Hey,
Bit of a noob question I think... how exactly do I "use" BetterBatteryStats. I'm not sure how to set it up so it measures what I want it to.
This is what a full day's drain from 100% to nearly empty looks like at the moment:
Can anyone shed some light on my mystery battery thief please??!
Cheers,
Su

Poor battery life on cyanogenmod 11

Hi,
I have a nexus 5 running cyanogenmod 11 ,and for a while now I have been experiencing
some very poor battery life performance.
yesterday it went from 50% to 1% at night because of com.android.systemui and android system.
I tried installing different nightlies versions but the battery was still unstable and drained completely. :/
So today I re-installed everything and did a complete factory reset and cache partition format installing nightly 20140731 and Gapps, hoping that would help.
I charged my phone to 100% ,and then unplugged it and let Gsam battery monitor run in background with no apps working ,almost everything greenified, with WiFi off, location off and sync on.
Google now is off, brightness on low settings (no auto brightness),good data signal strength and very low usage (mostly checking whatsapp, couple of minutes of gaming, checking some stuff on chrome, but most of the time I didn't even touch the phone).
Normally this kind of usage should not make my nexus run under 90%-95%. this time it dropped to 20% ,in 4 hours...
I followed the battery troubleshooting sticky thread , and did everything I could to make the battery last.
I've uploaded the pictures of my battery usage in a rar (it doesn't let me upload all 5 pictures,so rar it is...) and I'm really hoping someone could help me solve this..
I don't want to go back to stock android, but this battery drain is intolerable.
If you need more information please ask..

It hardly tells us anything until you tap on something that has somewhat high usage/what type of wakelock is keeping your device awake. In your case it would be "System..." and "Combined App Wakelocks", you tap on those.

Considering it's a nightly, it could just be bugs. I've never actually tried nightlies because I like stability, but I suppose it is possible that there's wakelocks bugs.

I just mean in general a nightly might be unstable. Not saying you should switch to a stable CM. Just saying some bugs are expected. But regardless, I agree with the previous posters. You should click on the individual apps in that list to get more information.

Horrible Battery Life 2h SOT - Need Kernel or other tweaks advice

Okay, so to make a long story short I have terrible battery life. (See image below)
I don't even game, all this time the only thing I did was listening to music trough my headphones whatsapp, and some low usage of Facebook (Messenger). Nothing special in my eyes.
2h55 min SOT. This is really the worst battery life I ever had on every phone, I have this for a couple of months now already. And I am so done with it.
I am looking for options:
Will a new kernel help me out? If so, which one? I don't like fine tweaking. Just a new kernel that works, no tweaking and that works for battery life. I heard FrancoKernel, or ElementalX is good. But keep in mind I just need a kernel for battery/performance. Not for fine tuning.
I will also install xXx No limits. Is this recommended for my case?
I want to know all of your opinions on this, and with my batttery life in mind. Because I really want to get this fixed, I am getting annoyed so much.. Thanks!

Yes, its a while ago now. I think it has been 1-2 months ago. But I can remember it didn't make a huge difference. The thing is, I can't reset it because of banking applications and working abroad. (I wont be able to install them again). And I am pretty sure it wont help.
So I am looking for a kernel option or other tweaks..
There's no miracle, a kernel won't help significantly. You just need to track what's draining your battery. Delete ad many apps as possible, deactivate system apps you don't need.
You can try deep clear in the recent apps management and turn off smart boost in the laboratory.
You might have to replace the battery if the other suggestions don't help
Download Accubattery from play store and charge your phone above 80% then check battery heath, i have 86% health and it's pretty good.
Also if you oem unlock bootloader it will wipe everything.
Your doing something wrong.
Tinder much? Or u checking to many IG babes?
Edit: in that case nothing wrong, but something else is wrong (logs plz)
I'm experiencing exactly the same. Idle battery drain is about 1,5% per hour, I hardly get more than 3 hrs of screen on time. I do think it has something to do with the OS, but can't figure out what...
Go in Google settings, location, scan, and check in wifi and Bluetooth are enabled. This combo drains a lot

Thanks!
