I request information about X2 - GEM701L - Huawei MediaPad X2

Hello, I'm looking for accurate information about this device.
Version: GEM70 1 L because I use the Band 20 (800 MHz).
Question without change "firmware" with a version of the 702/703:
Can be run the root of this version?
Is present recovery for this version?
If the answer to these questions is "yes", you can completely go stock without leaving evidence of "modding"?
Another question:
If to do this "modding" is necessary to install a firmware of other versions (702 or 703?), the band 20 works?
If I install the firmware of a 702/703, in the future I can get back to 701 fully stock with no traces?
If possible, those who have the accurate answers, show me the reference 3d and read quietly.
I am completely ignorant of this beautiful tablet and I see too much information on the various versions.
Thanks in advanced & I apologize for my English.
Have a nice day.

Hello........

You can chance your 701 to 703 and keep the LTE Bands.
You can install a ROM and in some cases go back if your skip reset on B106, but even unlocking the bootloader can not be reversed.
So no chance of making it virgin again.
All this is documented in the specific threads.

MIUI v7 on Honor 6 L12

Hello guys!
After getting a bit fed up with EMUI, I decided to try to find a good ROM to use on my Honor 6 (L12), and I've decided on MIUI v7. The official MIUI website shares two ROMs for this phone (presumably done with MIUI Patchworks), one for WCDMA phones, and one for TD-SCDMA phones.
Due to not having 10 posts yet, I am not allowed to post links, but on the official MIUI Website, if you go on Downloads > Brands > Huawei > MIUI v7 you will find the two ROMs I'm speaking of.
Thing is, I have no idea which one of these I should use on my phone, or even if they will work on L12. I am still under warranty, so I only want to root my phone once I'm sure the ROM works. Can anyone give me any info on this?
Thank you very much!
Bump
Sorry about bumping, but I have researched quite a lot and cannot seem to find an answer
I will give you a bump as well, I have a H60 L04 and I want to flash a H60 L02 Rom wondering if that is possibel to do so? cause its just I have single sim and L02 is double sim, only that differnce

Need update for 701L.

Hello, All.
I am the new owner of a Mediapad X2 GEM-701L which i have unlocked and rooted.
The only issue is this unit seems to be on B001 (Android 5.0).
I have looked through the threads and most of them are ROMs for 702L/703L. I cant find anything for 701L.
Can i flash a rom from the others on mine?
Android version 5.0 has lots of bugs and the updater doesnt find any new version for me.
What to do ?
i am at a loss here and i figure my only option is to change the device model # to a 703L that way i can force an update.
is this the only way?
The GEM 703L has more support, so if you can change to this one it would be a good elecction.
what are the differences in the 3 models anyway? I realize one model has 32G storage and 3Gig ram.i believe thats the 703?
the one i have is 2/16

The main difference amongst the 3 models is the 4G/LTE band support. The URL below gives you the details under CONNECTIVITY section
http://consumer.huawei.com/en/tablets/tech-specs/mediapad-x2.htm
well i changed everything in the build.prop file that had the number 701 to 703 and did check for update and it said no update.
i even used HiSuite to check for updates. Nothing.
I am now wondering, if i put KangRom and flash with that will it work?

So far Huawei only focused on ROM development and upgrades for the 703.
Some 702 owners in this forum including myself had no issues flashing the 703 stock ROMs up to B109 (starting B106 it is Android 5.1.1) but with the limitation of not being able to switch SIM for the 4/3G. Other than this, the Android 5.1.1 works beautifully for me on my 702 and I prefer to stay on 5.1.1
I've not seen any 701 owner done the same so far.
If you want to try at your own risk below is a good detailed method by "eenap"

actually i saw that thread ...
at this point i am rather frustrated cause i dont want to end up with a bricked device.
if i had known this would be so much drama i would have bought a galaxy tab. (even though the mediapad is so nicer).
my only problem(s) right now is this:
in the thread you referenced to he has version above mine already installed. i have b001 which i assume is the lowest.
then
if i can find the original firmware just in-case i screw things over i can restore.

But the 701 stock ROM listed above is B002 - are you sure yours is B001 ?
ya well i guess i am unlucky.
mine says GEM-701LV100R001C100B001
i saw your link and those updates are newer than mine. maybe i should grab both and see if i can do a local file update with them

Gem-701L/Gem-702L to Gem-703L Pro & cons

I've been reading alot of the thread on this forum, about how to flash gem-703L rom to 701/702. But I'm still unsure if it's a good idea to convert your 701/702 to 703, lets say that I wanted to stay stock on my converted 702>703, will the OTA cause any problems ?
I understood that it's not possible to go back to the stock 701/702 rom, unless Huawei decide to make a similar ROM version for 701/702.
I would love to have a feedback from those who has converted their 701/702 to 703 please comment with some pro/cons.

There are no cons so far. Actually there are all pros to upgrading. You'll be on a newer version of Lollipop, you'll get Marshmallow when it drops, you'll have access to custom ROMS and you won't have those 5.0 bugs.
Ive to decide to buy this phone
So im in italy , 701L has the right bands, if I upgrade to 703L for getting marshmellow then I have problema with bands?
If yes then how I get android 6?
Thanks
I did a 701>703 Upgrade and the only con so far is the more complex update process. As far as i know, if you want to stay stock, you have to flash a Custom Boot everytime you want to make an OTA update. So flash TWRP Recovery, flash the latest Custom Boot, flash the appropriate Stock Recovery, do the OTA update.
At least thats is my own experience, please correct me if i am totally wrong.
But this is really the only disadvantage and only if you want to stay stock. In return you get a blazing fast device with the latest OS, features and incredible battery life.

For Marshmellow you have to wait some time.
As @audioralf says here, you do not lose your bands.
I read mamu guides, the first one posted work so on 701l?
Thanks
This one worked for me

I still haven't convert my 702 to 703, I'm not 100% sure about the conversion because I need google apps/contacts and so on. I'm not sure how it's done when I've convert the phone, will I be able to add a google account normally? will all my contacts/mail/calendar sync normally like on the gem 702 ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/help/problems-play-store-t3311823
Is there any catch at all ? I've read that someone had problem with encryption his phone, after converting to 703.
I just want a 100% working phone after the conversion, will no catch at all.
If I'm wrong in any matter please feel free to enlight me
I saw the guide but I dont have the sd card, its needed right ? I just got a fresh phone
anywway im on 701L b003, any link to guide to upgrade this firmware ?
thanks!

Any official update for mediapad x2 GEM-701L to 5.1.1 or 6.0 ?

Dears
I am running the official 5.0 sw/GEM-701L, is there any new official sw like 5.1.1 or 6.0 , i tried to check with referent regions in Huawei website but no hop,
they released the device and left it without update
many thanks in advance
There is no official Update for 701.You can unlock the Bootloader and flash the China Firmware from 703 or the international 702 Firmware.
Many thanks for your feedback
Hi
Actually it's a bit tricky but you'll find tutorials on xda:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-flash-rom-x2-gem-703l-gem-702l-t3228915
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-flash-rom-gem-701-702-703-t3293795
But anyway, I think that 701L users now need a more simple, clear and updated tutorial for " how to install a recent 703L rom on my 701L", dedicated to this precise model.
If someone with this experience would read that...
Does anybody know the market shear between 701, 702 and 703 models? I am wondering what are the reasons of being no updates for 701. Maybe it's becaus it only represens a few percent of the X2 market?

I agree. It's definitely needed a dedicated tutorial for 701L on how to convert to 703L.
I hope AJ can spare some of his time for this..[emoji16]

no 701L update blues
Got em bad.
This seriously sucks for what is otherwise a fabulous device.
Certainly puts me off Huawei for my next phone.
Save a maximum of personnal data and settings (with for example : huawei backup app, helium backup, titanium backup...).
Then flash directly on your 701L this official international rom designed for 702L:
http://consumer.huawei.com/tw/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=92804&key4=GEM-702LC158B203
It will install, and your device will be on android 6, and designed for international users.
Please note that it is recommanded to unlock your bootloader before flashing anything. In order to unbrick your device if something goes wrong.

Question RN 11Pro+ 5G Peux Is it worth the risk to change region?

Hello everyone! I've read several of the posts in here to understand the different procedures (newbie here on xiami things). I've got the Peux version, which doesn't have the MIUI14 released yet. From this, I've got questions for everyone here.
For the ROM part
1) Is it worth it to change the region to Global for the updates?
2) Can you tell me about your experience with the XiaoMiTool V2?
3) Is it better to do all steps as stated in the How-to guides?
For the Firmware part
I just checked, and in the firmware, there is already the V14 for Redmi Note 11 Pro/Pro+/Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G/Xiaomi 11i 5G/Hypercharge, India version, which I assume is my phone.
But, if the firmware is V14, will it update everything in my phone but the MIUI? Or if this is a misconception, I think I haven't fully understood the difference between firmware and ROM. (I'm reading from Firmware V14.0.3.0.TKTINXM)
Thank you all for your help to teach this newbie.
2) Can you tell me about your experience with the XiaoMiTool V2
This tool is unofficial, use Xiaomi official tools.
For a precise answer, please indicate the model of your device (my phone/characteristics/model).
Example:2201116SG, 2201116SR, 2201116SC, 2201116PG,21091116C.
Thank you for your answer!
If I get it then, as an unofficial app, is it wholly discouraged?
My phone's model is 2201116SI

One more question: Soc Mediatek or Qualcomm?
Edit:
Currently no Miui 14 Android 13
If you want to change version:
1/
Unlock bootloader
Xiaomi Community
new.c.mi.com
Apply for unlocking Mi devices
en.miui.com
2/use Miflash with a fastboot rom (TGZ).
(I'm reading from Firmware V14.0.3.0.TKTINXM)not for your device!!!

I really thought that because of the V14.0.3.0.TKTINXM it was for mine. I think I don't yet get how the firmware work then.
Qualcomm SD695
I do get how to change. My real question is about security, benefits, and updates. I understand that changing ROM region is a risk, so I want to evaluate and advice in order to do so.
This firmware (to simplify: serves to make the connection with the hardware), which is specific to each model is for a Xiaomi 11i / Hypercharge India, code name (pissarro).
The basis of the stock rom is the same, the only differences are:
Themes, GDPR/GDPR for the EEA, call recorder for Indonesian/Taiwan, and some region-specific apps.
You can re-lock the bootloader on all versions except Chinese.
The missing 4g bands on your version will always be missing regardless of the version you install.
The only risk is you.
Thank you so much NOSS8 for your answer! I think I will change to the global version just to get the MIUI14 updates.
Thanks for explaining firmware, and throwing in the 4G bands part (which was a concern too).
Thankks!!!
I know this has already been answered but I wanted to drop a quick tip;
You shouldn't search for firmwares based on market names cause Xiaomi uses similar market names for different devices in different countries. You should instead use device codenames.
The rom you were planning to flash was for "pissarro" and it's a different device entirely.
The device you have is "veux" , the Indian version might be called "peux" but you don't have to think to worry about the codename differences, it's inherently the same device, the only difference is it lacks NFC and Xiaomi has been doing this thing for a long time, releasing variants with slight hardware differences depending on the regional market, they also build the same rom that's flashable on both variants of the devices (nfc/non-nfc model).
You can flash Global Miui 14 whenever they release it for this device, there won't be any problems except that you won't be able to pass the safetynet whether you lock the bootloader or not, you'll have to rely on the safetynetfix Magisk module from Displax to pass the safetynet.
