[HELP]{P5110] encryption unsuccessful - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
My Galaxy tab 2 10.1 is stuck with "Encryption Unsuccessful" message on regular boot :crying:
I already search and read many forum threads but until now I didn't solve the problem.
short summary of the situation:
- years ago, I start to use successfuly CM11 and CMW 6.0.5
- at a time, I add a user account on my corporate messaging (Exchange) which force to encrypt my device. everything was still working properly.
- Few days ago I start to get sometime the message "Encryption Unsuccessful" which lock the regular boot.
Sometime, I still have the complete boot ... but after few minutes reboot of my device.
I already try many things:
- factory reset
- all possible wipe. when I try to whipe the dalvik cache ... reboot of my device
- I try to install ofther recovery CMW recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.7-p5110.img or twrp-2.8.5.0-p5110.tar (through SD card or Odin 3.10.6) but every time I stay with the CMW 6.05 recovery
- I try to flash a stock ROM EON-P5110XXDNB1-20140507164334.zip through Odin but it failed at the system.img flash stage
- I try with another stock ROM BTU-P5110XXDNH2-20140929104701.zip but same result ...
As far as I start to understand from reading some forums ... the issue seems to be arround the internal sdcard partition corrupted
I'm lost
Could anybody help me?
thanks in advance
Vincent

Sounds like a EMMC Problem.
In some cases it will be enought to update emmc firmware, in some other cases only emmc replacement can fix that issue.
From Datasheet:
5.1.7 End of Life Management
The end of device life time is defined when there is no more available reserved block for bad block management in the device. When the device reaches
to end of its life time, device shall change its state to permanent write protection state. In this case, write operation is not allowed any more but read operation
are still allowed.
But, reliability of the operation can not be guaranteed after end of life

I talked to a user from www.android-hilfe.de who sucessfully fixes faulty Tab2, from his own statistic about 80% of effected tab2 can be repaired updating emmc firmware via ISP (in the past i false thought JTAG instead ISP), the other 20% need a new emmc.
The user is from Austria if it is interesting for you.
Best regards

Problem with BlissPop: Stuck at "BlissPop is starting..."

Hello to everyone, posting this here as I don't have access to ask in the forum post for BlissPop - I.E fresh user
I'm having issues with my "recalled" shield tablet (wifi), I had it flashed to BlissPop successfully previously but when I tried reflashing it the other day I was met with a major roadbump: It just won't load the ROM.
The tablet freezes at the screen following the installing and optimization of each application - basically my screen is stuck at a small wall of text saying the following:
"BlissPop is starting...
Powered by Team Bliss
Starting apps.
Please wait for the optimization process to finish."
And before you ask, yes I have waited long enough (left it on through the night just to be sure - this thing won't load).
My procedure is as follows.
Bootloader is CWM and it is rooted beforehand.
1st off going into recovery mode.
#2 Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache - done
#3 Installed BlissPop via sideload, then gapps_pico afterwards (I've tried wiping cache+dalvik before installing gapps to no help.)
#4 Rebooting from CWM, here I've tried both allowing and denying CWM to "fix" root settings.
I've tried the first ROM I installed (when wifi/lte versions were available) and the newer releases - same problem with both.
After this I am met with this screen that won't budge, anyone got a possible solution to this issue?
Hey I just received my replacement tablet and was going through this process too. I did some digging around and found / remembered that having an external SD card socketed can cause this problem. So I powered my device off, removed the card and then rebooted without major issue.
Hope this helps.
I don't have any SD card in my tablet though, thanks anyways.
Did you format system?
If not then do format system/data/cache

Tried doing a format of system as well as data/cache/dalvik, still getting same result :/
Not sure its still helpful or not...i saw the xda thread regarding to this thread and whoever tried to flash the last zip got stuck at boot. So I'm guessing if you will flash a different one (by this time maybe they upload a new one) maybe you could get rid of it..

When I switched to BlissPop I had to format /data because TWRP was unable to wipe it. TWRP offers that option unter "advanced wipe". Might be the same with CWM.
any help my phone stuck on this boot loop and i dont know what to do now , any fix ? i dont wanna have broken phone i did everything that u guys said nothing works

[SOLVED] Constant reboot, need urgent help!

Hey guys,
I have encountered a serious problem on my device. Today I rebooted my phone once and it has just stuck on the samsung logo. Then the phone began to reboot without ending....It could not just start. With the help of TWRP I have made a full wipe and tried to reinstall my actual firmware Superman 1.10.5, but I always stuck at 25%, the phone did not respond to any actions. I even tried to flash the stock 4-file firmware with Odin, but it did not help, the phone constantly reboots. Sometimes it manages to boot to the stage where the sign "installation of applications" appears, but a while later it stucks again and reboots. Please, help me to solve the issue, because I am begininng to think that it would be unpossible to recover the phone. I am only able to enter the download mode or recovery, anything else does not work.
Thanks....

Really sad to hear that story mate. First things first, I assume your BL version is matching with the firmware your flashing right. And when you go to TWRP, can you see /system and /data partition from the mount menu? If not, you have to perform a factory reset. I had issue like that with my Galaxy S7 and usually factory reset(not wiping) helped me with that situation. Since your system can boot up, but crashes after awhile, I do suspect that some of your partition might be corrupted(at least its what happened to me). So trying factory reset can be a good bet for you.
And... I think you have to provide more information with which variant you are using, and your BL version, TWRP version too, solve the problem quicker. Hope this information helps.

Yep, you are right, BL versions always matched firmwares. I tried to wipe the phone with TWRP 3.0.2.3 and also to make a factory reset with the stock recovery. The stock firmware, which I tried to flash, was G930FXXU1BPH6_G930FOXE1BPH1_SER consisting of 4 files including BL,AP,CP and CSC. After 3rd or 4th flash of the same stock firmware the phone suddenly became alive and began to boot. Wu-huuu:silly: I was happy as a child. After having successfully launched the stock rom I have again flashed TWRP 3.0.2.3, went to "wipe" option and formatted data. Then I have installed a Superman Rom 1.12 and everything went the right way. I don't understand only one thing: why after having wiped the phone several times and having reseted it through the stock as well as TWRP recovery it didn't want to boot.
As you said, I suppose that the one of partitions was corrupted. Oh damn, I thought that I won't be able to resuscitate this phone.
I have flashed about 20 phones during my life, but I have never ever encountered such serious problems.

samsung galaxy tab 2 infinite reboot loop

Hi, i have samsung galaxy tab 2 (P5100) with no root. It started to restart 5-10 seconds after android starts... (i dont have time to go the settings or to do something before restart).
I tried to clear cache and factory reset from recovery but it doesnt work. (in recovery it shows done but when i reboot system, no changes are made)...
I also tried to flash new stock room with odin but it failed every time ( i use different versions of odin, different rooms and different pits). it fails after NAND write or system.img.
Im also not able to flash new recovery... in odin it pass but when i start recovery mode there is no change...
Does someone have similar problem? Im afraid that it could be problem with motherboard or memory.
In recoveory i see this error:
# MANUAL MODE #
--Appling Multi-CSC...
Aplied the CSC-code : ORS
failed to compare '/system/csc/common/system/app/MH_10_TCS_Tablet.apk' '/system/app/MH_10_TCS_Tablet.apk' (no data available)
Thank for any help.
Your tablet may have the emmc bug, sorry but only a mother board replacement or emmc firmware update will fix it
Same problem, not yet solved.
I also have a samsung tab 2. We bought it around 2013 and started to have problems around 2015. My device started to reboot out of nowhere, infinitely, randomly. I tried to look for patterns. Couldn't find any. But i noticed something, it's stuck on it's current state. When i do things like install an app or take/delete pictures, when it restarts, everything i did would be gone and it's back to it's "current state". App that i installed? Not there. Pictures i've taken? Gone. Pictures i've deleted? It's there again. Even a hard reset won't do anything. When i do a hard reset and it reboots again, guess what, back into it's "current state" again. I've read about it on some forums, i think it's hardware related. Emmc. A notoriously bugged chip, where when you clear your cache or flash it with a new os or something like that. Boom! Brickbug. I tried sending it to the samsung dealership where i bought it. They checked it. They said the motherboard needed to be replaced, which was very expensive. I'd rather buy a new one. Now it's 2018, i'm hoping they've found an alternative to fix this tablet.

IS IT WORTH IT?? having tablet repaired. PLEASE HELP :-/

Hey all. I'm trying to salvage my mother's Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113.
U.S. market Tab 2 GT-P5113 with original factory ROM started intermittently bootlooping. At times would successfully boot and operate briefly but then reboot on it's own. Executed wipe process a few times but completed without success. Odin flash completes successfully on most attempts. STILL just BOOTLOOPS! Looking for a reputable service center to replace the memory.
It's been suggested that the 16 GB Tab 2 have a known faulty EMMC (MAG2GA) issue. It can happen, that your EMMC get “read only”, so you can’t perform any write actions or format anymore.
From the EMMC data sheet:
5.1.7 End of Life Management:
The end of device lifetime is defined when there is no more available reserved block for bad block management in the device. When the device reaches to end of its life time, device shall change its state to permanent write protection state. In this case, write operation is not allowed any more but read operation are still allowed.
But, reliability of the operation can not be guaranteed after end of life.
On a faulty EMMC firmware it happens a lot faster.
What are the symptoms?
Uninstalled apps and deleted files are back after a reboot
Formating the storage doesn’t work (after reboot the old rom and apps are back)
You can flash whatever you like via Odin - it shows “passed” but after reboot nothing changed (e.g. still no StockRom or still the old Recovery you had previously installed)
… there might be some more, but only to mention some …
In most cases, the issue can be fixed by a EMMC firmware update, but you need someone who’s able to do it (possible via ISP, nothing you can do easily at home yourself). In some bad cases you need to find someone who can replace your EMMC.

Phone still in a boot loop after Odin shows pass

Hey everyone my A22 has been in a boot loop for a few days now today I used Odin and downloaded firmware from samfw checked the model number + csc etc then ran download mode and started Odin it took a few minutes then my phone rebooted and Odin showed a green box saying pass and log said successfull so thought it was done then sadly it’s still in a boot loop the issue is I want to keep my data so I’m trying to avoid factory reset and have seen people be successful with Odin for similar thing so don’t want to give up just yet but there is not much hope anymore so just reaching out as a last resort
Note : whenever my phone did boot up the odd time I would enter my pin then android starting would load but it would never load up I would get a pop up saying “ serious software issue detected “ with 2 options either not now or check for update both options do not give me any luck and just boot loop after 30 seconds it’s rare to get this as most reboots it just bootloops

Try booting into stock recovery and wipe the cache partition but do not factory reset then try rebooting into system.
If this doesn't work then you'll probably have to factory reset whether you want to or not, your original bootlooping issue could have been because your internal storage is too full. Android requires a minimum amount of free space in order to boot, if storage is full, it can't boot.

Hey thanks for the reply this seems the most reasonable option as I got a different recovery menu with the option to wipe app data so by sounds of it this is my best option to try and if no luck then I guess there’s nothing else just a shame because some apps I need the data but end of the day it’s a lesson learned to take storage and back ups a lot more serious next time
