How to debloat - what to unistall and replace for clean android? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi everyone, i got an s7 flat plus the keyboard cover. I always used cyanogen or pure android moto devices and i can't stand samsung's interface, even if it's better than ehat it used to be.
The keyboard is key for me so I dont want to install another rom, because it will probably not work, it seems baked into the OS.
I will install the Android N theme, chrome, google now launcher, contacts, calendar. Anything else? Can i remove all samsung apps by simple uninstall or do i need to root the device? I would like to get rid of know, the browser, etc. but not sure if I should get greenify. Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks

You can disable bloatware apps with Package Disabler Pro.

You can at least disable a lot of apps (samsung / facebook stuff too) within app manager, that is already on your device.

[Q] what can i remove thats not necessary??

Hi peeps...
I'm currently running the hexagon stock modified rom and i was wondering what stuff i can remove without screwing it up???
I pulled a few bits n pieces out like the weather stuff and google maps and gmail using link2sd and it ran fine for a while then something went wrong and the phone would lock up if the screen went off...
I would like to strip everything down to the bare minimum... I use my kindle fire for 90% of stuff now... All i want is basic phone functions, a twitter client, skype and emails... Plus tethering and gps.... And play store for updates
I'm considering changing sense for something else too if theres anything smaller and quicker...
Any tips would be welcome! Thx in advance!
Almost forgot... Can i delete the internet browser and install firefox to replace it rather than install it alongside?

you can delete usually many apps like weather, stocks, mirror, calculator, browser, facebook, even search, mail, dictionary, gmail and talk. However, some apps are linked with others like contacts is merged with messaging so removing one might affect another. I will not delete any app that you can not see in app drawer and neither delete an app which i think might be integrated with another one!
You can also remove camera

[Q] Remove Google from Android, especially Contact management

Hi there,
I am currently using the excellent i9100 (Galaxy S2) CM11 Linaro/Sabermod ROM created by Markox89.
With that, I use the very minimal Gapps 4.4.4, (just Google play really), maintained by BaNkS.
Very happy so far.
My question is: can I go further and eliminate Google entirely? Specifically I would like to remove Contact management away from gmail.
I would prefer a third-party cloud based contact management or possibly go to Owncloud to create my own.
Any suggestions for removing Google entirely from Android phone? (Other than preferably keeping the Play store, but that may be impossible).
Thanks!
You need root access first. and you can unsintall system apps. using a system app uninstaller.
Such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ljmobile.system.app

I appreciate your reply, but perhaps I am not totally understanding you...
Are you saying that I could uninstall all Google apps with that app? Including contact management?
I can, I believe, wipe my phone clean and just flash the custom ROM, without installing Gapps of any kind...this of course would leave me without any Google apps, including Google Play (not necessarily what I wanted).
By doing that, I believe (and correct me if I am wrong) I would be without any contact management software in the phone? Any ideas on what to use as an alternative?

Freeze user apps without root access?

I know there are ways to freeze system apps so-called bloatwares when root is gained (or even with Galaxy Mega non-rooted some system (aka stock) apps can be disabled/frozen. My question is, I want to disable a few of the apps I installed (like WhatsApp, Opera browser etc.) without rooting. Is it possible?
Well, I kind of found the answer to my question. There are two apps: One is called Hibernate in app store and the other Greenify (I don't care if the 'bigA' thinks they have patented the word 'app store'!!!, I call it so...)
Now I was looking for a kind of solution like freezing that's amazingly available in Link2SD or Titanium Backup Pro. But to my surprise, these 2 are fulfilling my needs until I root my phone.
I'm not sure which one is better though... After tinkering with both of them, I like the UI of Greenify but functionality of Hibernate is really good. Don't know what's their difference though! ?

Samsung A51 Custom OneUi (lightweight) no bloatware

So, I was looking for a custom One Ui rom without all the bloatware such as AR, Bixby, Netflix etc...
But still maintaining the overall features of the device of the phone itself and it's hardware.
To my surprise, I did not find anything as such.
I've only found an AOSP but that's lacking, i can't even get magisk to work on the AOSP that's available for the Samsung A51.
I also didn't have any luck with "deleting" the apps through ADB or 3rd party apps. It doesn't delete the apps properly, it just hides 'some' of the apps from me which is not the goal at all.
The reason why I'm asking is because I don't see the need why certain unnecessary apps (such as Bixby) need all permissions which I can't even disable.
I also don't need apps like Facebook and Netflix on my device.
Please let me know if there is any custom rom available?

How could I prevent annoying update pop ups from displaying in samsung apps?

One of the things I do on all my samsung phones is use ADB to remove bloatware. The galaxy store is one of the things I really dont want running on my phone. Why would I need more than one place to find apps? I usually just download APKs directly.
Anyways, could I uninstall the samsung gallery and camera apps and then reinstall them from an APK? Would that disable the auto update mechanism that causes these stupid orange bubble notifications all over my screen? I have OCD and it really annoys me. Also is there an alternative to the camera app that works for samsung devices? I dislike being nagged all the time to wipe my damn lens.

Paradoxically, app update notifications from Samsung can be turned off in the Samsung store.
If you don't have TWRP on your phone, I would advise against experimenting with uninstalling the gallery and camera, as there is a great deal of dependency of other apps and services on these core apps.
