Hi everybody , it's been a while since I bought myself an s7 edge 935F but I am bored with the network icon , on my s5 it used to display 4g or 4gLTE but now it only says LTE, is there any way to change it ? I tried like I did with my s6 going to sysyem/build.prop and change ro.product.name but it didn't work
Any ideas? I also want to change my icon from LTE to 4g in Stock unrooted s7 edge

As far as I know, you can't change system icons without root.

I think you can change that with xposed and gravity box.

Some themes will change these too. But only the unofficial ones. Venom theme in s6 edge section for e.g.

It's a CSC feature, Adding this in others.xml would change it to 4G:
Code:
<CscFeature_Framework_ReplaceDataTypeIconAsOpBrand>[COLOR="Red"]4G[/COLOR]</CscFeature_Framework_ReplaceDataTypeIconAsOpBrand>
Just make sure it's not already defined as LTE. Seach for CscFeature_Framework_ReplaceDataTypeIconAsOpBrand if there is no such string then this would work. If you have features.xml I guess you need to add the above string there too.
that's weird , on my SM-G935F it says 4G and not LTE.

Is it just me or when i apply a setting and reboot, it takes FOREVER to boot back in OS. I mean it boot back, then as soon as i see wallpaper, it reboots again, then to hangs on Samsung Logo, then boot and i see wallpaper, then it reboots again, sometimes this could take 10-15 minutes before it finally boots back to OS without rebooting...
To change DPI.......
Download AppSettings module for xposed..

Thanks this really works was stressed because needed hotspot for tablet.
Will a Verizon S6 work fully on T-Mobile (including voice, 3G, 4G LTE)? I'm not too concerned about Band 12 at the moment.

Seriously? Verizon's support band 4 for LTE, which is primary for T-Mobile. What's missing?

Nope.
There's a thread in the AT&T s6 forum though with a tethered root for OJ/Ok. You could check with them to see if it works with Verizon, but last I checked, no dice.

You could install a Rom with the hotspot enabled. If you need more help ask, yet your surely find your answers with a bit more reading in this Note 5 forum.

Could you explain how you edited the CSC files I'd appreciate your input M8 thank you.
Edit APN works via this method (this is from a Note 4 forum but should work on all Android devices as long as you're rooted).

I don't see this hack getting blocked anytime soon.

Yeah thanks for that link. The only ways I found before learning the editing of CSC files was using some ADB commands in shell to get it to work. Besides a custom rom was the fastest, convenient way to enable the hotspot.
"only way you found". Ummm did U check the link? This was super easy. Easier than ADB. Custom ROM is fastest unless you want stock rROM. Besides there aren't many options for Note 5. The one I tried kept soft bricking my phone. In any case so happy I found a solution.

Yes, I checked out the link. ADB was as easy as copying and pasting, yet I like the editing of the CSC files. Through the ADB method you don't need to root 100% stock rom with working Samsung pay.
To clarify ADB is not the only way to enable Hotspot. Changing CSC file is another way.
