Can this function be ported to the S2? - Samsung Gear S2

I have been looking for any way to get Google Maps notifications on my watch since I got it. It's the only thing keeping me from returning it.
I just came across this and it would be perfect. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this to work with the gear s2?

[Q] Google fit tracking inaccuracy

I noticed this on the google fit support site, anyone know why this is?
I tried this app the last two days and it only logged about a tenth of what my fitbit was logging. I've uninstalled till they can fix that or integrate fitbit data.
I'm trying to find out. I asked on reddit and a bunch of people with M8's say that it works fine for them, which is odd because it doesn't work for me at all. I also asked on the Android Wear forum on the Google forums but haven't heard back yet.
I can't fathom what would be different about the M8.
Any update as to why this doesn't work with the M8? I looked online and am not seeing any real updates.
I have somewhat of the same issue, cannot figure it out.
I have a LG GWR which has google FIT installed by default to count steps and monitor heart rate. But when I install fit on my M8 is says that this device is incompatable with my device and wipes all of my step counts on my watch.
I cannot find anyone that has the same issue... or how to work around this.

Yeah, that's what it does. Google Fit doesn't work with the M8, even on the watch.
I don't have the phone anymore, so I'm just going off of memory, but I'm pretty sure you can have the watch count your steps if you uninstall Google Fit from the phone. But then you don't get the steps on your phone or anything, so it's kind of pointless.
I read somewhere that HTC is working on a fix for this, but I wouldn't hold my breath. And supposedly Fit works fine on the GPE edition. So if you really need this, you can convert your phone to GPE.

Samsung Gear and GALAXY Apps Problems on Non-Samsung Device

Hello! I know this is only my second post here, but I've been lurking around since the original Motorola Droid came out. I'm not a newbie by any means lol.
Anyway, onto my problem... First and foremost, I am using a Google Nexus 7 rooted with DarkKat 4.4.4 and a brand new Gear 2 rooted with TizenMod 3.0.
I purchased a Gear 2 with the intention that I could pair it up with any non-Samsung Android device, with the assistance of a number of tutorials (one being backups for one another if the previous didn't work). I've tried every tutorial I could squeeze out of the Internet, but to no avail. I can get the latest version of Samsung Gear to install and run just fine, but no matter what I get stuck into a, "Connecting to Gear...," loop. I also have a Samsung account tied to my Nexus and was able to, at one point, get GALAXY Apps running. Yes, I went into the build.prop file and changed my brand and manufacturer to Samsung and model to GS-I9500 (also tried GS-I9195) and changed the app's permissions respectively. Also, just as an FYI, I am able to successfully pair my Gear 2 with the Samsung Gear app.
I've been diligently working at this, and only this, for 12-15 hours at a time for 4 days straight... I'm at my wits end with this thing. What really irks me is I can't set the date and time (on a friggin watch of all things), but good news is I found out how to at least sideload my custom widgets on it.
Anyone have some insight on this?
Bump.

Has anyone been able to get Samsung Pay working on a Pixel?

Hi everybody,
I know Samsung said that they aren't supporting the Pixel (seems to be a 7.1 problem) but has anyone been able to do it? Can you set it up on someone else's phone? Maybe you could change build.prop to add a card then go back. Hopefully once they update their phones to 7.1 it will work
Edit: Looks like it's working now!

Currently 7.1 doesn't work, I know someone else had the same exact problem here on the forums.

It does not seem to be working on the updated 7.1.1 Build NFM260 PixelXL. I can't install the app from the Gear Manager on my phone.
Hey guys, I truly don't really care for Samsung Pay, but are there any general functionality flaws against pairing with the Pixel? Issues with seeing texts, emails, etc?
I use Samsung Pay with my Pixel all the time. No issues what so ever in regards to SMS, calls, emails etc

Slow to open text messages

When I open Messages and click on a thread, my watch is often really slow to open that message. I'll click and it will open it seconds later.
Anybody know of a fix?

I'm really frustrated. I'm thinking that maybe it has to do with BT transfer rate. I don't have a cellular plan for it because I'm on Sprint and Sprint doesn't offer it. So I have my watch connected only via BT to my phone. I've noticed the lag is worst in text message threads containing photos and ones that are overall pretty long. Can the lag be due to that? I don't know. My wife has an Applewatch and it's connected only via BT, too, but she has no lag. So it can't be just due to the BT transfer rate. I'm frustrated and confused.
Yes it's very frustrating. I have also have a Samsung gear s3 3g running game tizen 2.x and it doesn't have this problem. I noticed it when I switched to the frontier and upgraded to 3.x. I haven't been able to find a work around for the problem. It doesn't really matter how much content is in the message, even a single message is painfully slow to open
Same here, I normally don't reply to text messages from my watch and just see the quick notification who it's from and later open up from my phone. I recently sent a reply from my watch and it is excrutiatingly slow to open messages and to send messages when the entire app and watch are lagging trying to type gives constant errors because of the lag. I NEVER had this issue before tizen 3.0 update, FFS what is Samsung doing? This is unacceptable on such an expensive device.
I wonder if anyone has posted this with Samsung to see what they have to say? It makes me want to step back and load tizen 2.x on my s3 frontier as the upgrade is just not worth it for the features.

Is it possible to flash an earlier version of Tizen? I don't know too much about how smart watches work.
I haven't tried it, but yes there are firmware versions for older versions of tizen for your model of gear s3. However I know it's not easy, and can lead to bricking your watch. So unless you are an IT guy like myself, you may not want to undertake the challenge. I just hate having you go backwards on any of my devices.
Tizen 3 if terrible

Samsung wallet sucks, how do I go back to Samsung pay

Samsung wallet sucks, I can't get it to work without giving it my biometrics and I'm not going to do that. How can I go back to Samsung pay and get that to work again or get rid of Samsung completely and make Google pay work with the swipe up on my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra? Thanks
No intelligent people on this forum anymore? Well anyway if anyone else has this problem i discovered a workaround, just launch Samsung pay from the watch and it works, opens Samsung pay on the phone, won't work if you launch from the phone app anymore however, that opens the **** wallet app. If anyone ever figures it out let me know, thanks
