I Think the title says it all ....
so here is my problem
I have the L29C900B133 update.app file And I want to be able to flash it via TWRP
This Rom is the most complete Rom till today for mate 8 and I think flashing it will solve my problems including applying themes and missing vendor
So please help
How can I make a flashable zip file using this update.app file ??
If there is any method please let me know or send a link
And Before anyone says anything i already looked in huawei update extractor and using it you can make flashable zip files but huawei mate 8 partition map is not available yet and i'm afraid that if i use mate 7 partition map it will brick my phone

can someone create a update.zip for cwm with this old firmware v08 , i just badly need it , i have a prototype o3d and i updated it to v10d and after that my battery is always 0%.. the old firmware that is ok with my o3d is v08.

If that's the firmware you need, just download it and put in a zip file.
right click on the folder then add to archive. use the compression method store.
That should work but do a backup before hand just in case.
I tried to zip it and rename it to update.zip and install it via cwm recovery but the recovery said that it failed on signature.. Something.,,

The file is already a zip file, it's just in the wrong compression method...
using winrar, open the zip file, then tools, then convert archive.
A box should appear, change the archive format to zip, and compression method to store.
Hi, isaias19, I also have a prototype o3d. I can not use it after rom(v10d, v10e) upgrade. If possible, could you post your v08 rom backup file using cmw?? Thanks.

For your case update.zip will not solve your problem.
you need dump your system and replace by another one:
To see your partition :
adb shell cat /proc/partitions
After try use these command to put your new system :

Is there any possibility to convert the update.app from huawei to a flash-able zip file, to install with CWM?

so i find a guide in xda that can edit the audio_policy.config and the problem solved.
after that i flash my phone and this time i replaced the audio.config file with an edited version in that post . after that my Bluetooth has a problem , i can pair it with all devices but when i want to transfer audio to them , my phone will crash and reboot
is there any body there that can give me the original audio_policy.config file .
you can find it in device memory-> etc -> audio_policy.config
and i think you need a root explorer and root device .

i need an update to my RK3066 to 4.4.4 kitkat that isn't in RAR type but rather zip. I've downloaded a couple different ones from the Malaysk profile on XDA and then converted to zip only to have my device recognize it as a bad file. any options?

What did you use to convert it ? The zip or rar are the same
You maybe want a zip file in order to flash it in recovery but you have downloaded a rar which isn`t recognized
Open the rar archive and use the files from inside of it , it may contain an image an you have to use that one

i did try and flash update w/ the rar but the tablet didn't recognize a rar ext. So i converted to a zip and the tablet stopped because it stated it was a bad file. I thought something may have messed up during the conversion and did it again but same result. I've looked everywhere for updates to 4.4.4 for this tablet but no luck. the ones that i did try and flash would open update and then abort the install.
As I said, I understand what you have tried, now please listen to me, the rar file is not a flashable zip and you cannot just convert it to zip in order to flash it, the flashable zip file results from building the ROM not converting rar to zip
Rar and zip are indeed both archives but the zip you need is a flashable zip as I mentioned above
Open that rar and tell me what you have inside
As for roms, if here on xda aren't available then contact the manufacturer's website or go deeper into Google, as far as I can see there is no ROM for your device here on xda

I used Huawei update extractor 0.9.9.5 to unpack update.app file and I saved system.img. I tried various unpacking programs like ext4extractor, appimagemaker, imgextractor, ext4unpacker, romzhushou and I was not able to unpack system.img. i'd very appreciate if someone could tell me what programs to use for unpacking firmware
What about renaming the file to *.rar? Many compressed files can be renamed to unpack it with WinRar or 7zip.

Convert to raw
(You could use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redlee90.imagekitchenforandroid )
Then mount raw.img via device's command line on a path allowing that.
Hey. If you can upload the full firmware for me or link me to it somehow... Whatever works... I'll give it a try in my kitchen. I've yet to come across any firmware that i can't unpack. Especily system.img files.
Stuck using a p20 for a bit. Can't handle the no root thing.. I can't even run google keyboard. But i'll unpack the.img!

hi, i found hwcallrecorder apk , i was not able to unpack system.image. if you need apk of recorder check here https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=994141&st=540 . there are some apks for different emui ( 9, 9.1, 10, 10.1 if it'll be problem for you for understanding russian language drop me message with your emui and androd version of your smartphone , i'll send you apk
