OK. I have the ATT htc one x. I was attempting to install Cyanogenmod 9. I unlocked the bootloader. Rooted the phone. I loaded twrp. This is where things get fuzzy. For some reason I was not able to load the .zip file of cyanogen. Then when I restarted the device it went into a kind of loop. Twrp was gone and I could and can go into the boot loader but the os is gone and it just shuts down if I attempt to go into recovery or reboot. Also, to make things worse, the phone is no longer being recognized by my computer with adb. Is my phone bricked or is there something I can do to set things right?!?!?!?!
did you install the twrp with working usb mount?
No. I installed it using goomanager. I wasn't able to install twrp or CWM using usb mount.
Is fastboot usb working in the bootloader (It will say fastboot usb in the bootloader screen while your device is plugged in)? You may have to ruu if both recovery and the os is not loading, but you'll have to relock your oem bootloader first using fastboot if possible. Otherwise I wouldn't know of any other fix without recovery working, unless someone on here knows of another way. This has happened to me once and I had to just ruu and start everything over again.
No fastboot usb is not working is there any way I can restore the ability to access it?
I have nothing left on it anymore so restoring is no problem if I can get access to my device.
[solved]
just downloaded drivers and moved them to htc driver folder in program files for anyone who was wondering.
glad to hear. was actually just about to ask whether you had the drivers installed correctly. Hope everything works out from there.
Hi
I have a standard motorola moto g 8gb unlocked phone - not tied to any uk network on 4.4.2 .
I wish to downgrade to 4.3 or change the rom to another rom.
Before i do this what is the easiest/simplest way to backup the ROM (o.s) which is not root'd ?
Or do I have to root the phone?
Also do I need to install drivers or not for the phone as Windows 7 sees the phone fine in explorer/my computer when the phone is turned on - i can drag drop files on there no problem
Thanks in advance.

a way to backup without root? Yep.
a way to backup without unlocking the bootloader? Nope.
You see, for everything you need the bootloader unlocked: rooting, flashing, etc...
so if you want to backup anything you first need to unlock the bootloader to flash a Custom Recovery and then do the backup and that can be done without rooting the phone, or touching the rom at all.
You will need the motorola drivers and adb:
Here's to backup the NAND (needs root): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263392
Here's to backup the ROM (Choose one): TWRP CWM
Hi
ok made a bit of progress.
never thought it would be so much of a mission !
got the bootlocker unlocked..
now how do i install the clockwork mod or twrp app sorry for my ignorance. i have followed the links you've kindly posted me.
i am familiar with dos commands etc. - so that doesn't phase me.
i've downloaded the apps from a site both clockwork and twrp - .img files - do these have to be installed via command
prompt with fastboot to install them respectively whilst the phone is plugged in with usb cable in the bootloader phase?
are there not any "windows" apps that can install these apps?
Thanks in advance
You don't have to install both of them!

Chk this for automated process
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50029015
and also
You do not have to install both the recoveries, either cwm or twrp not both of them!
you said you unlocked bootloader, that means you have adb installed with fastboot
copy the .img file for twrp/cwm whichever you prefer to the folder where adb is installed
rename it to recovery.img
then turn off the phone and boot into bootloader and run
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Alright, I wanted to root my moto x play and and i tried doinng it using this tool. http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...l-windroid-universal-android-toolkit-t3206881
Unlocking the boot loader worked fine and it got unlocked. After when i flashed on twrp, it prompted to me set up the device and so i did turning on usb debug mode. After i flashed on supersu and when i tired going into recovery mode twrp was not there. So i flashed on supersu first and then twrp and finally it worked. After i ran supersu and booted the device it doe not get past the boot loader warning. the device is readable in adb but i cant sideload and push anything onto /sdcard does not exist and when i side load i get error:closed. in device manager the phone shows up as mtp usb device but with a yellow triange. when i run the command adb usb the driver install fails. i really hope this is not a brick and i can recover.
sidenote= the sd card does not work so i can not flash another rom.
please help.
Found fix.
Update: not bricked. Flashed on stock ROM using a otg cable.
Hi,
I own a Xperia Z5 E6633 (dual) running rooted stock 32.1.A.1.185 ROM. TWRP 3.0.1 installed.
Yesterday, I reflash (without wiping data) E6633_32.1.A.1.185_R6C_Central Europe 1 Generic_1298-7210.ftf using flashtool. I just wanted to unroot it, to try another root method. Everything went fine, the phone is up and running without root access.
After that, I upgraded TWRP 3.0.2 on fastboot mode.
Now, I can't enter to recovery mode anymore ! I used to wait for the yellow light and pushed Vol+ to turn it amber, but this method doesn't work anymore, the light isn't showing at all.
I tried the 'adb reboot recovery' method, but it reboots normally without entering recovery...
Does anyone know what I have to do to get this yellow light back during bootup ?
Thank you in advance !!
Hey,
Did you already activate the debugging, and authorize your computer on your device ?

Sure. ADB commands work normally, but 'adb reboot recovery' command reboot the phone without entering in recovery.
I found the solution, I had to flash the modified modified boot partition !
Wanted to share this to get the ball rolling on this device

I think Asus fixed their ****,so basically I was able to flash the patched_boot.img now.At first it gave me the network error but every time I always tried again, eventually it gave me the no pin error even thought I had a pin.I tried several times with that too and sometimes it would reboot but not wipe anything, until I took away my pin and it immediately gave the no pin error and I tried again and it rebooted without wiping anything.I contacted asus support over the phone and on zentalk and they told me it was already unlocked.I tried flashing the patched boot image and it went through.I booted into the phone with no problems indicating boot loader was unlocked I think.then surprisingly I checked root with root checker and it came back saying I did have root. I guess they updated the unlock boot loader tool to make it not wipe anything.

It's easy enough to do dowload the firmware from their website, install the magisk manager apk.extract the firmware zip and locate boot.img file.copy it either onto a sdcard or select file transfer on your phone and transfer to your phone.AFter doing so go back in to the magisk manager apk you installed select install->patch boot image file->locate the boot.img file you copied let it patch. After it patches make note where it saves, copy that "patched-boot.img" back to your computer(into the adb folder)and inside adb folder hold shift key+right click then open a comman prompt window.type adb devices.Make sure usb debugging is enable in developer options after pressing build number 7 times.make sure your device is found after hitting enter on adb devices.type adb reboot bootloader.after your phone reboot into fastboot mode(ther'll be a llittle word on the bottom left of your phone screen)main screen will be powered by android rest is black.now type fastboot devices to make sure your device is seen.and then type fasboot flash boot "patched-boot.img".Then you'll be rooted.Make sure you unlock bootloader with their tool first.
any news on how it went for you?
Until now i have no luck to unlock my max plus.. I already ask asus personel but until now its under investigation... Im still waiting.

I tried this, and now my phone has a bootloop...
I have no backup of the original boot.img.
Flashing the whole FW with SP Flashtool doesn´t work (Brom error), I tried all combinations with Vol. Up & Down...
Does anyone has an idea how to get my phone working again?
It came with FW Version WW-V14.02.1711.22 and a chinese Recovery, I wasn´t able to install updates from the beginning.
ADB is also not working, the device is shown as MTP, I have no connection via ADB.
The only thing which is working is fastboot.
Is there a solution to get it working again with fastboot? Can just flash an other boot.img?
Help
can you explain how you did it please, I have the same
