Part of Z3 case broken off, anyway to fix it? - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
my Z3 fell to the ground and one piece broke off and I don't have it anymore (see attachment). It is the lower right part. Is there anyway that I can fix it? I do not want to replace the whole display and stuff. Nothing is affected by this.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot. But seems like they are not available in the EU. Couldn't find any reseller in Germany.

Edge sensability

Hi there,
Tried to find any tópic about this and not find.
How to resolve the issue?
The edge in the screen as to much sensability

A case maybe? Mine had the same issue during the first week of use. Later magically it disappeared. Maybe use a custom rom with some custom kernel? I've noticed that some custom roms have huge sensibility of those edges. And some barely have that problem.

Get a case, that's the only way to stop the problem. I hate this phone for that reason but I like it for the big battery and water proofing. Camera ain't to bad either.
Thanks the phone as 1 week. Noticias flashing any rom. Tried the *#2663# trick and i think is the same. Waiting for the case

Battery's calibration isn't working

Hello guys,
Its been around 1 year that I have my Mi 4c and I have been very happy with it until now.
Since some weeks ago, I'm having battery issues. As I have investigated, this is happening to a lot of users too, the battery seems uncalibrated and doing the calibrate process is not solving the problem.
I'm a bit desesperated looking for a solution and I was hoping that some of you could give me one.
My MIUI version is 7.4 by xiaomi.eu 6.5.5 (Beta)
Please, can you help me??
Thank you so much,

a hardware problem can't be solved via software. your battery is nearly dead and no calibration nor changing the firmware could help.
solution: get a new battery from ali or ebay (no original ones available)

yes, YT and search for "mi4c teardown"
the most frightening part for me was the amount of screws you need to unscrew to get to the battery connector
then you have to "fight" a bit against double-sided tape that keeps the battery glued to the motherboard (and remember to tape your new battery to the motherboard again, otherwise you will feel and hear "bumps" of the batt hitting the back cover when moving the phone rapidly)
but not too difficult overall, just prepare it would take about half an hour and do everything with no hurry

Replacement Screen

I searched here and Google but am having trouble finding replacement digitizers for the Shield tablet. Any help? (I cracked mine obviously... The screen still works but the crack is growing)

Nvidia, from this point of view is bad. It has no service centers and no spare parts. You have to find a bad tablet to disassemble the spare part you need.

For the sake of completeness I tell you that I replaced the broken screen of a new LTE version with that of a WiFi with kill switch (bought on eBay). The screen works perfectly, but the stylus pen does not work anymore. I had to choose the minor evil.

Replacing motherboard to fix microphone issue

I got the microphone issue since 2 weeks ago.
I tried installing a lot of custom ROMs, P beta, and some different 8.1 official builds but the issue comes back after a few hours.
I live in South America, the phone isn't sold officially here, so I need to fix by myself. Do you guys know if I order and replace the motherboard, the issue will be fixed?
Thx

Depends on when the motherboard is produced. If it's from 2017 and onwards then you're good to go. If it's from 2016 then the problem will occur again after awhile. So be careful when buying motherboards as people are probably just selling those from broken Google Pixels.
You don't have to replace the motherboard to fix the mic issue. I recently had my mic repaired. You have to replace the USB control board. The part isn't very expensive.

Best to keep it as it is.
If every update comes with its own thread then the forums just going to be spammed every month.
One thread to contain all software updates and discussion would be better
The number have different scheme than last month's
Hoping this update contains a lot more fixes/improvements!
Hope so..
Slow starting camera....
Hope for the fix of 4k video recording stabilization. This doesn't exists at all for now...I am expecting many other bugs and enhancements.

Irrelevant to this thread
Anyone else got the update? So far nothing for CE1.
However, those are only copy paste of Google's security patch, no changelog because in fact there are no other changes, no fixes for the issues...
In this matter X1 is device abandoned by sony, call reception is weak, my calls sre hanging so the person I am talking to cannot hear me. Check dBms, signal reception is so poor...
My last device from sony. Company abandoned the users, so users abandon the company.
The only thing we can hear of is more and more apps to be decommisioned, Xperia Longue until end of month, what's next?
I hate stock Android.

What's next? Probably more of their apps that hardly any one uses.
Phones only been out a couple months so give it time for more meaningful updates. If you have issues with signal and call hanging then take this up with Sony and get a new device

How is the X1 "abandoned" while they have just released an update? If your call reception is weak, do some troubleshooting first.
Sell/return your X1 and get a new phone. No need to announce your departure.

Here in Spain Xperia 1 have score more hight in down speed and signal.
it must be your carrier's problem

Complete & utter nonsense, the Xperia 1 is "abandoned" because we got the August patch and that's it?... At least we're actually getting the security patches on time, if you've owned a Xperia device before you know how Sony do things, instead of rolling out half-assed fixes that don't hold up or become more buggy (Samsung) they take time to fully resolve the issues then roll out the updates
Sony put so much emphasis on the camera's of the Xperia 1 to show they're listening to consumers, they made it clear to us that the Alpha team is working closely, although this is irrelevant to the topic, it's hard to see such ignorance and say nothing..
I'll also like to add my signal is fine in the UK on EE :good:
If abandoned, why Xperia 1 will have Android Q in October November and others in 2020
