Exchange Promotional Gear S2 for Non-3G? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I hate looking a gift horse in the mouth, but after giving it some thought I've realized that I'll never use my promotional Gear S2 without my phone. I'd like to keep the speaker, but I'd really rather lose the 2mm. Is there any possibility of exchanging it for the non-3G version, or is an eBay shuffle the only option?

I expect you're stuck with exactly what the offer was for. That's typically how it works for large scale promotions like this.
Heh, I'm planning on selling mine on eBay because I don't wear watches... But that's if I even get them while there still worth something lol.

Worth upgrading from Galaxy Gear?

I can get the Gear 2 Neo for $100 CAD BNIB. Is it worth it to upgrade from the original Gear? I liked it very well, and I still use it to this day. But I find the watch to be somewhat uncomfortable.
The neo pretty much fixes all the issues I've been having. What do you guys think? I could probably sell the original Gear for $80.

IMHO, the watch is perfect for what it does for me.
I use it to:
Tell time (obviously).
As an alarm to not wake my wife up in the morning.
Receive Text notifications, read them 50% of the time, reply to them about 10% of the time.
Receive Email notifications, read them about 20% of the time.
Sleep Tracking (mainly just for the do-not-disturb functionality so I don't receive message notifications at night).
I was able to get mine off of the AT&T accessories deal for 25% off (came to $149 USD). For $92 USD (current), that is a STEAL!! I'd buy another one for that price! =-D
I agree with the user above but coming from a Gear rooted and running Null rom the Gear beats the Gear 2.
I am happy with waterproof since I jog in rain and all kind of conditions and I can change the band for more dress fashion...
I hate the battery life I get 1 day off stock Gear 2, I hate no apps for it, I hate RunKeeper is not going to make a version for the Gear2/Neo, it still needs more for the serious users. With the Gear I could load all kinds of apps even phone apps I know I am not the norm but if the Gear was waterproof I would not need the Gear 2...but the Gear lacks a lot from what I came from...
Now if your more like the above user...you will be happy and pleased but I still hate the battery life on the Gear 2

Buy an sport gear s2 for 140 dollars still worth?

Hi, I saw this watch few months ago, and I loved the design, Bestbuy put the refurbished version of the sport gear s2 on 140 bux right now, and I have this question...
This watch still worth? I wan't the watch just to changue my music (volume up/down) saw/answer my notifications, and nothing more, basic stuff.
This still worth? Im thinking about bought a lg g4/moto x pure/galaxy s7-note5 to pair with the watch.
$140 still good bargain for that nice watch
For $140? Yes, definitely! The watch originally retailed for $300, $350 for the 4G/GPS version, and honestly, I don't think ANY smartwatch is worth that (mine was free with S7). It's cool, just not $300 cool lol. $140 is totally worth it though. You can barely get a fitness tracker that doesn't suck for that.
You can get a s2 classic refurbished foe 171 u$d right now ... Granted it is a refurb, I'm seriously contemplating getting one myself... My girlfriend has the Rose Gold s2 classic and I really want to get one.
If you look on your local offerup or Craigslist, you could prob find one cheaper or around 150 with 4g. With the best buy one, it's probably just bluetooth ver

Hey from a new S3 Frontier owner!

Hello S3 Forums, Just wanted to say hello and share my store about how I became an S3 Frontier owner. (sorry, it got kind of long and wordy, lol)
I got my first "smart watch" when I came across the OG Pebble and had the wife buy it as a Christmas gift one year. From that day I synced it until now, I have not missed a day with my tech wearables. I eventually Kickstarter backed the Pebble Time, and loved that one even more. It had just a little more to it, and did everything I wanted from a little wrist tech.
Fast forward to a few days ago when I finally got my hands on a S3. As some or many of you may have heard by now, Pebble is going down in flames and they are selling out to Fitbit. This was the push I needed to start doing research on a suitable replacement for my trusty Pebble Time. I have never used anything but Pebble, so where was I to go? Android Wear? Samsung? Tic Watch (a close 2nd choice) or back to a classic watch?
I watched YouTube after YouTube and finally had my mind just about made up on the S3 Frontier. One problem, It was a week after Black Friday, and dang near every vendor was sold out. I called Best Buy, and they told me that they could order it in and it would be around 4-5 days. So on a Monday I took a trip up to my local Best Buy to check it out in person and hopefully pull the trigger. While one think was for sure, I fell in love with the size and design of the S3 way more then the S2 or any other watches on display.
Then the crazy story about how I ended up with my watch. I was told by 2 different Best Buy associates that, "yes, we can still get you one in 4-5 days" and So when I made up my mind, the guy said, its on order and should be here by Friday (12/16/16). So we proceeded with the transaction, and I bought the Bluetooth only version for $299.99. The next few days seemed to take forever and once Thursday night came, I couldn't take it anymore. I decided I would call and check on the status of my order just to make sure it was going to be here on Friday. Well.. that's when my heart sank. The customer service agent on the phone, couldn't find my order and didn't see where anyone had ever placed the order. He managed to find my sales receipt, but said there was no order associated with it. Thankfully he listened to the situation and with some on hold time, had the Manager at the store verify my story and was going to get back to me on Friday to let me know what they could do. Thankfully the store's inventory was now showing negative 1 on hand after my sale. They said it was a glitch in their system, and that the watch was basically sold out and not available.
Once I got that call, my option was to basically take a refund, and then once they got some more in, I could come back and buy it then. But all I wanted was to buy this thing! Even Samsung direct website said that it was going to be January before any other watches shipped out. So.. I decided to try and talk them into letting me exchange my pre-ordered Bluetooth model in for the ATT LTE model that I knew they had on the shelf. After some deliberation between sales managers, they decided to let me exchange it, plus $25. Because the Bluetooth was on sale for $299.99, but the outright ATT was still $349.99. I am on Verizon, so I had no use for the LTE, but I still just wanted the watch, lol. But to my surprise for all the headache and hassle, the Mobile manager decided to just exchange them straight up and apologized for the mistake. I love it when customer service based business comes to the plate for customers. Huge kudos to my local Best Buy for making it right for me.
Not going to get into the issue of getting the correct apps installed on my custom ROM HTC 10. But after a night of reflashing a stock based ROM and getting the apps done, its finally working! Even Samsung Pay which is so damn cool on my wrist. I'm excited to be a part of the Samsung S3 family and can't wait to see how much better it gets as more and more join in. I think the S3 is going to get a lot more customers as its out longer. I know I love it and don't think I'll find a replacement soon.
So there we go, sorry it got so long, but I'm just so excited about my new tech and thought my story was crazy enough to share.
Attached is a neat picture of my last 5 watches. Pretty cool to see the progression of wearables. Left to right: favorite black Fossil, favorite stainless Fossil, Original Pebble smart watch, 2nd generation Pebble time smartwatch, and the newest beast, the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier.
I also have the S3 Frontier. I do like it but it would be even better if it had compatibility with Android Wear apps. The lack of apps is the only thing I don't like about the watch. Other then that it is great.

so i picked up the samsung gear s3 frontier

Just got it today. Its just ok. Dont get me wrong. Its good looking. Good screen. Good battery. Normal straps. Wifi bluetooth. Samsung pay. Gps.
I just feel like all this does is make you spend money. Watch faces. Spotify account. Apps. Everything costs a dollar. They should give you $20 in samsung money when you buy the watch. That way you can get it set up how you want it. Them after that its on you if you wanna spend more on more stuff.

Is a Huawei Watch 2 Classic for 60 bills worth buying?

New here, and new to smartwatches. I am looking at watches, but am not sure I want to drop hundreds of dollars on a watch if I'm not sure it is something for me. I can get the HW2 Classic for $60 from a reliable seller. It has what I want in a watch like this, but will it be a laggy mess if I pick it up? It is a secondhand watch... which I am fine with. Thanks.
HW2 is one of the Best Wear Watch for better battery power. Small screen 1.2" and slow but it is the price for best battery.
