UX User Interface Developer 4 grabs ---> Blue Carbon Fiber Sense UI + Battery_C v1.3b
Hi all, I am a newbie, but an HTML User Interface Developer by trade. I have just started learning Android, I have an hTc Desire(not branded), hence I want to try helping everyone here and in the process grow my knowledge with this OS. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i chose here as i have a desire, and do not know much about other devices yet.
I thank everyone for all their hard work and I would love to be a part of this.
I am a graphics specialist, with 3D Animation experience, hence I offer my services to design for you as you require images and graphics for your apps/ROMs...(provided i am given enough time).
Hopefully i can add benefits to the development of Android so that for Example the Sense UI does not need to be black and green only. \

I have reworked the hTc Stock Sense UI, in a carbon fiber, glossy and a bit of dark brushed aluminium look, something sporty and racey. I try to keep alot of black and smoked colors in my theme, as i am told that black and dark colors on an AMOLED screen uses minimal or does not use much power at all.
Blue Carbon sense has been ported to work on Evo hereThanks to barnacles10
What you get:
*tested on Leedroid ROM 1.9
Blue carbon fiber buttons
Glassy blue / black /white buttons
New glassy Icons
Notification bar in carbon fiber (aluminum added on landscape)
Super circle battery C
Transparent pattern lock knobs
Added some more title bars in carbon, friendstream...etc

Installation :
Ensure you have already done a full boot if you have just installed a new ROM
Do Nandroid Backup (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, that's why we NANDROID backup)
Download and copy zip file to SD card
Do wipes (no need for factory reset, just dalvik cache and wipe cache) using clockwork
Install the zip from SD card
Might take long to boot maybe 10 mins mabe longer but be patient, lots of files to swap around. DO NOT PULL OUT BATTERY WHILE BOOTING.
Let me know if you have any issues or find any bugs

I do apologize, I know it is a rough, I haven't textured properly or anything yet. This took me under 30mins to do. Will update it later in the week when its complete,

Thanx everyone for the positive comments, Radical is the bot seems posing with the bottle, it is merely an impression of me being happy, no negativity implied, but if you want to propose any ideas feel free to post here or PM me and i will try my best to create you an icon, avatar, UI, bootanimation, etc.
I will be posting propesed UI for sense I would like to develop here in future. Obviously i am a lover of openSource and will always aim to keep my work free and fair for everyone to use.

New Sense carbon fibre
Hi all i have been tinkering around with the sense ui theme, What i have been playing with are the icons in color (blue or green arrow set) and realistic icons, and the Sense buttons in Green lit up, blue lit up, etc
I have uploaded screenshots if you can tell me which ones appeal more to you, I can upload the .png files for you to use, however i'm not sure how to get them into the ROM yet...I am going to try and replace the original into the apk, and see it that works.
if you want the files just let me know which set you would like and i will upload the zip

Thanks, I am fond of the blue lit up one too, I will create a screenshot this evening with more of a neon glow on the blue and upload for you
The robot was just something i was toying with, possibly to animate in future, but thats a great idea, it will be a great idea to do a boot animation where he pops out of the screen and downs a bottle of Jack but that will probably come later on

I have played with various bootloader.zip images, but now i wish to challenge the HTC sense UI, maybe offer one in an aluminium/glass finish...Though I cannot for the love of it find the images used for that, maybe with the help of other more experienced developers i can get just the images used in the Sense UI. Later i could even tackle the Vanilla Launcher. Hopefully i can add benefits to the development of Android so that for Example the Sense UI does not need to be black only. I am open to other suggestions too.
Attached here are two 3D Android bots, drinking my fav, but he can do anything you want, you are free to use them as they are my own creations, as long as you just drop a mention to me that you are using them.

I have played a bit more with the blue neon for the sense bar. Please tell me if this is more or less what you had in mind or should i adjust it some more?
In the meanwhile I will create the rest of the skin that goes with it for all the other common apps

This is what i created so far. you are welcome to use it, if you need anything changed, please let me know

From my what I did I can tell you the following:
1- Theres the Framework.res, which contains the default Android theme/images.
2- Theres the HTC framework, which includes various Sense generic icons/images and the lockscreen.
3- Theres the applications, and included in them are the notification icons, like the ADB icon in PCSCII.apk.
I wish you the best of luck because sense is a maze

Thank you, I managed to find them, and there is alot of them catering for all the android device types i guess. I have made mine from those, but im not sure how to put them back together though.
Edit: Do i need to sign the zip/apk in any way?

Try apk manager: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
You can use it to unpack apks, edit the images, and then make them apks again.
I dont think system apks require signing...

Here is some more of my work(for developers that those who know what they are doing with ADB and ROM cooking), I made an update of the battery icon, along with a few blue neon carbon fiber buttons, download and Enjoy

[BOOTANIMATION] Some Basic Bootup Screens - incl. Transformer logo

Thanks to a few posts on the forums (credit to fone-fanatic and jschmier) I've managed to create a few basic boot animations which I'll share here.
You do NOT need to be rooted for the ADB method. If you are sending back your device under warranty remember to remove the custom boot animation before you do. Code is below, showing you how. It doesn't interfere with anything else on your TF. It doesn't even overwrite the original file so you can roll-back any time you like.

How to install:
Download the file of your choice. Rename the file to 'bootanimation.zip'. Do not extract the files contents, leave it alone. Then follow the guide below.
Via Asus USB data cable (Does not require root):
Use ADB. Guide HERE. Copy the file to: C:/Users/(your username here). Type 'cmd' in the windows start box (in Windows 7 and Vista), or start menu>run then type cmd and hit enter (XP users). A dos emulator console box should pop up. If it isn't already at C:/Users/(your username here) then navigate to the folder containing the "bootanimation.zip" in the command prompt.
To check your device is connected type:

adb devices
If it's not, you need to follow the guide linked above to install the usb drivers.

To add an animation type:

adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
To test that it's installed correctly type:

adb shell bootanimation
And it should show the animation on the TF screen. Press ctrl+c to stop the animation.
To remove the boot animation and restore your unit to stock, type in:

adb shell rm /data/local/bootanimation.zip

Via a file explorer app (Requires root):
Copy 'bootanimation.zip' onto a memory card. On your TF open the file explorer app of your choice (any app that allows you to copy and paste to the internal memory, "Root Explorer" is a useful app). Copy 'bootanimation.zip' and paste it to /Data/Local. If the folder doesn't exist, create it.
Via Dropbox and terminal emulator (May require root):
Follow the guide in this post HERE.

N.B. It seems that no matter what settings I use to make the files, on first playback the animation lags. After the first animation cycle it should run smooth once the files are cached though. It will do this each bootup unfortunately. It even does it with the official files so I guess it's just a hardware problem.

I have data folder but there is no "local" folder in it. I have looked in system folder and I have no hidden files.....

Did you try creating a folder to put the files in it? I think you have to create it to get it to work. I tested them all via the ADB method so not sure about the file manager way tbh.

Had a suggestion if I may? Either a blue Transformer symbol with the exploding effect, or the Transformer symbol with the glowing chrome effect of the stock Android bootscreen - the one with the word "Android" across the middle of the screen....

I had a bit of time so attempted one for you. It's not great but that's the best you're gonna get im afraid. It's the 'Decepticon Zoom' one. Looks better on the tablet than in the gif animation.

Thanks a lot for that! Saw that one in the OP and thought it looked pretty cool. Will definitely give it a try..
EDIT: So, tried out the Decepticon zoom one, but it seemed to run very choppily, despite several reboots. Do appreciate you taking the time though. I liked the explode one, but not a fan of green. Tried recolouring to blue, but my resulting boot anim seems to run at twice the speed of the original. Not sure what I did wrong. Have attached it, maybe you could try it out, see what I messed up? Also, did you use separate layers for that one? If so, do you have just the exploding effect .pngs without the word "Asus" - would be cool to add different text there....

I've started using Adobe After Effects so I'm just practising the basics at the moment. It can export a series of png's which is handy. It took about an hour to make the 'android' logo from scratch. Sorry but I don't really want to repeat the same stuff over and over as I'm trying to learn new things in the program.
That 'transformers' title logo sequence looks quite cool. I'll try make an 'android' version of that some time.

You aren't the only one asking for something along these lines, which has inspired me to give it a shot. Not wanting to high-jack stuntdouble's thread or detract from the excellent work he has done on these boot animations, I started another thread to feature this animation.

It usually lags the first time it tries to play the file, on every boot, as it caches the info to ram. My animated gif speeds are normally different from the resulting file, as they are just an example of what the animation looks like, not of the speed as well. If you want yours to run faster or slower then you can change the frames per second figure in the desc.txt file from 20 to something else. A lower number plays it slower and a higher number plays it faster. On the flip side however you have to be careful, because if you increase it too much it will lag a lot. This depends on the filesize of the individual images.
I'll pm you a link to the file and you can play around with it as much as you want.

No problem. Just halve the fps in the desc.txt file then, and re-package into a zip file.

You might consider optimizing the PNG images used in the animations. I don't know enough about the algorithms to know how it impacts rendering, but there is typically a decrease in the overall size of the boot animation. For example, optimizing the PNG images in the exploding ASUS logo animation (explode.zip) via rOptiPng (roptipng -o7 **/*.png) resulted in a ~10.5% (760 KB) size decrease.

Stock ROMS: Download the .zip posted and unzip the contents.
Then navigate to /system/media/ on the folder you just unzipped and rename the bootanimation.zip to TMUS_bootanimation.zip.
Using a file explorer on your phone, copy that newly renamed file and paste it in /system/customize/resource
(replace the other boot animation there, or add a ".bak" to the old one at the end).

I've done a couple custom bootanims for my G1 back on like Cupcake, but the format changed a few times and I lost track. This is pretty cool though... I love throwback stuff... And I never'd have thought of a BIOS ... cool!
I would have two humble requests....
1) If you're going to have a throwback to PC bootup, perhaps an OS "scrolling progressbar" style logo after the BIOS bit in lieu of the pulsing MT4GS text (something like what Windows does, and admittedly I haven't watched a Mac boot up in a while, and Linux style bootup can be had with logcat live from Market). Maybe a throwback Andy, but without the whole circle animating like previous CMs... just a Windows style progress bar under it
2) Can a landscape version be made?

I'll come up with an OS scrolling style progress bar or something similar soon, I'll try to make something original (or let me know if you want the plain windows one instead, whatever looks better.)
I've never seen a landscape BIOS boot animation for Android before, I'll look forward into making one, it's definitely possible and shouldn't be too difficult since I already have all the resources.
I'm also going to update the graphics in BIOS boot, and make the letters a bit sharper

A "Loading" like feature has been added on the extras, let me know if you prefer the old windows slider look.
I'm still looking into the landscape version.
Also, if anyone has an interesting concept for a boot animation, let me know!

I liked the CM9 loop at the end too, I had the idea in my head and BAM there it was. Anyhow, the stock version has the same loop except that it doesn't include the "CM9" branding, adding that to the OP now, lol!

I have a TF201 Transformer Prime and I was considering making a BIOS animation for my tablet as well, it'll look super nice.
Also, I uploaded the landscape version and bumped the version number to 2.0 (the second screen looks a bit cleaner now.) This boot animation should work on any device that's running an AOSP-based ROM (correct me if I'm wrong) since the location of the bootanimation is defaulted to system/media. The only thing that might not work is the Flashable due to the fact that different devices may have different mount points.
The resolution is 480x800 for the portrait one, and 800x480 for the landscape one. A device with a lower resolution might struggle displaying the images, a device with the same resolution would do just fine (but remember, it's MT4GS branded.) And a device with a higher resolution would probably play it smoothly, but it'll look a bit ugly, small, or stretched.

This reminds me...
I had one with audio for my G1, where it had green text appear on the black background one character at a time, but fast. With each character was a little beep. It was similar to the techie computer text effect that Hollywood loved so much in the 80s and 90s.
The text was like "owner info" mixed with "in case of emergency" but the trick was getting the audio to sync with the characters. I never quite got it to match up. In the end, I gave up on sync and just made a generic sound at about the right time, and later it occurred to me that the bootup was never the exact same one time to the next. Near the end of the anim, the audio was always quite noticeably out of sync.
I wasted days on that project. The concept is simple but it is so much work!

That concept sounds amazing, if me or anyone could get that to work that would be sick. The problem is, some ROMs boot faster than others, and a Hot Boot is about a quarter faster than a regular reboot. A working, but boring solution, would be to make a boot animation where the cursor is constantly moving so that Audio would always match no matter what.

Hey guys! This is an app I've been working on called BootieScreen.
BootieScreen will personalize your Moto X's boot screen with a message of your choosing. Think of it like the Moto Maker service but with so much more freedom! Using BootieScreen, you can choose...

Exactly what your message says! (No profanity filter... if you're in to that sort of thing.)
Want to change your boot message? Just fire BootieScreen back up and re-personalize!
Want to remove your boot message all together? Hit the menu item labeled "RESTORE ORIGINAL BOOTSCREEN"!
Want to install a new bootscreen graphic but you don't want to fuss with fastboot? Just drop your bitmap onto your phone at /sdcard/BootieScreen/clogoDeviceBackup.bmp, fire up BootieScreen, and personalize from there! (If you just want to install your graphic with no personalization, just do the personalization with a blank message. There will be a quicker & easier way to install new graphics in a future release!)

Notes
This app requires your device to be rooted!
This app currently only supports devices with LOCKED BOOTLOADERS. The reason for this is because it writes to clogo, which is used when the bootloader is locked. When the bootloader is unlocked it reads from logo, which is not something that BootieScreen is capable of writing to at this time. I am hopeful that I'll be able to support locked bootloaders in the future.
BootieScreen is open source! Find it on github.

Thanks for the heads up! I knew those graphics were all kept together but not much more. I will make a note of this info. I would really like to be able to support the unlocked graphics at some point.
Great idea about the battery graphics, too! I will put that down on my list.

I get a force close as soon as I open the app. Running 4.2.2, rooted, model XT049. I submitted an error report. Tried both normal and rw mode.

No, I am still working on it. I'm hoping to have a new build posted by this weekend but we will see.
I see your error report on Google Play. It looks to be the same crash that Cyphir had reported. I believe I've got that problem fixed in the upcoming release.

No, it currently does not work for unlocked bootloaders. Only locked bootloaders are supported at this time. logos for each bootloader state are stored in separate locations and formats, and I haven't been able to work in the support for locked logos yet.
I expect to have them supported at some point but I can't really offer an ETA at this time.

Lost my motomaker personalized boot screen after going through the root process so wanted to use this to get it back.
It seems to personalize the boot screen, but I can't use the "Pull Device Bootscreen" option. I keep getting the "Could not read the bootscreen's bitmap file. Try pulling a new copy". If I personalize the boot screen, it just shows a black screen on boot (even with font color changed to non-black).
FWIW, /sdcard/BootieScreen/clogoDeviceBackup.bmp is just a blank black image.

That sounds like your clogo block might have been blank when you tried to pull the bootscreen... (Admittedly a situation I haven't compensated for yet.) That would make sense if you just reflashed during the root process. If you replace that blank clogoDeviceBackup.bmp with a new graphic and then personalize and install with BootieScreen, that should fix it.
Interesting about the black-screen with non-black text... If you open /sdcard/BootieScreen/clogo.bmp, does that show a black graphic with your non-black text? I will try to recreate this at home and see what's going on.
My long-term plan is to pull the first frame of the boot animation in the case that there is no existing clogo to work with.

So here's what I did since the post:
Restored original boot screen, seemed to bring back the original screen from after the reflash. Then I tried to pull that and it gave the same error. I then wrote the bootscreen again (blue text on blank black bckg) and it booted with nothing again (all blank). I wasn't thinking and then pulled that, which this time worked, and now I had a black bckg where I could add the blue text over. Booted and now it shows the blue text on a black bckg. Will try to play with clogo.bmp tonight. Don't know where things went wrong or if I'll ever be able to re-create that sequence of errors, but I hope this helps.

The application now checks to verify the device is a Moto X (Currently the other devices you mentioned do not fully support the cLogo and thus there is no reason for them to use this app. Yet)

First I want to say awesome concept for an app... But I do have an issue... I tried to personalize and it worked... But then I wanted to change it so I redid it and now I just have a black screen with both of my personalizations on top of each other and it's barely legible... And when I try to restore it doesn't do anything... Please help lol

What did you do when you tried to change the personalization? All you have to do to change it is change your settings, preview, and personalize. There would be no need to restore the original graphic, or re-pull the graphic. It sounds like your device backup file may have become corrupt at some point after the first personalization.
Before you installed the second personalization, did the preview show a properly re-personalized graphic? That is to say, your device's graphic with the new text and no underlapping old text?
To fix it, you will need to find a new copy of the boot graphic you were using. Place it on your phone at /sdcard/BootieScreen/clogoDeviceBackup.bmp. (The filename and path are case sensitive!) When you launch BootieScreen again, this graphic should be displayed in the preview window. From there you can run BootieScreen as normal again.
I'm sorry for the trouble. I don't know what would have caused this to happen. I wonder if an option to keep a redundant backup copy of every graphic pulled from the device might be beneficial until that can be figured out. I am going to add this to my future feature list.

MotoBlack Marshmallow Stitches BootAnimation Theme by xpmule 2016

MotoBlack Stitches Boot Theme / Animation by xpmule 2016​This is the default Motorola Marshmallow "Stitches" Boot Logo + Animation converted to Black.​
What you get here ?
- Flashable ZIP for the BootLogo
- Properly packed BootAnimation.zip
- A new simple dark / wide Wallpaper 1080x960 based on the Stitches Background Texture
Why ?
I installed Marshmallow and i did not like the White background on the Boot Logo & Animation.
So i converted them all Black retaining the original colors.
What ?
Quality.. i went to intense lengths to make this as high quality as possible.
I also wanted this to be a theme set of sorts. (i already shared the BootLogo on another topic)
How ?
I dumped Lossless images for every single frame in the original video animation..
Then applied a Photoshop plugin filter effect and saved each frame.
I had to carefully edit 456 png images totaling 531 mb's
Then i examined the original video animations and copied the format / encoder settings 100% exact with FFMPEG.
SO i carefully took apart the original animation changed it then rebuilt it the same as it was.
The original animations was just under 10 mb's and my Black one is a hair smaller than that.
Which meant i had to optimize the quality and file size as much as possible.
Best way to do that i figured was to just copy what Motorola did 100% the same.
Install ?
Copy the 3 MotoBlack Files i shared to your SDCard on your phone.
- BootAnimation Setup
You need Root access then go to this folder.. "/System/Media/"
Rename the original bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak (or similar)
You can do that with many tools but i chose to use RootExplorer.
Then replace the bootanimation.zip with the new one you got here.
I had no need to mess with permissions when i tested it so it should be working fine.
- BootLogo Setup
Either extract out the Logo.bin file from the flashable zip and use ADB to flash it.
Or just copy the flashable zip to an SDCard etc and flash it via TWRP
- Wallpaper Setup
I hope i don't have to tell you all how to put a Wallpaper on your phone

Let me back up a bit..
All the official Moto-E 2015 "Surnia" Boot animations (i seen) are made up of 2 video files + a config text file.
The First one is always just a clip that is meant to run once.
And the 2nd one is a super short clip meant to loop for as long as it takes to boot.
Note:
The OLD Moto-E "Condor" use Images not Videos so don't use the Animations i share with the old Moto-E
I don't "think" the video format ones will work.. and the image kind tend to be a problem on the new Moto-E
Ok so here is the problem guys..
My phone Boots too fast.
So i have not actually seen the 2nd part of the animation run.
The first part of the Animation is 15 seconds long so if you boot up in less than 15 seconds..
you will never see the 2nd part of the animation.. see what i mean ?
So if someone can tell me if they seen the 2nd 1 second long *looping* video clip come up that would cool
(It's the blue Moto Logo with some stitches that circle around the logo)

I also added a Wallpaper now to match the BootLogo i made MotoBlack "Earth"
But i noticed as i am adding the attachment it's saying it's a 100 kb jpeg not a 600 kb png.
Jpeg's are garbage low quality crap.. i am trying to add a png for a reason.
If i want jpeg's i will encode them myself with MY settings using my tools.
SO i have added 2 wallpapers so far but if this is what happens to them i am deleting them
and resharing them as zipped png's or something.
Anyway lol

For some reason this younger generation of users think this is ok.
For one thing i already answered a guy asking about that on the BootLogo page.
and i once again touched on the risk issue on this Animation topic.
Not only that pretty much every topic here warns you all.
The answer ?
Of course there is a risk you will brick your phone.. there always is with all this stuff.
Either you accept that and carry on or you don't.. that is your choice.
I am not giving "guarantees" for anything.
In the PM i got the guy did not even say what phone he has or what version of Android he is running
or ANY thing at all what so ever about what phone he has.
The only info i could see what his signature where he mentions a very different brand phone.
So how could i even TRY and answer this guy with no info ?
For all i know he has a Samsung Galaxy S3 and showed up here randomly on a Motorola topic.
And sorry but i don't have the motivation to tease out info from people.
Not only that i already went through this with 100% of the people who responded with my previous logo's
All of them had poor quality questions etc then flipped out and got mad at me for asking for more info.
I had Staff here delete those topic entirely.

I think some common sense is needed here people.
If you open the Themes section what do you see ?
LOTS of Boot Animations and Boot Logo's.
People are sharing them and using them.. so why would you think your phone is going to get bricked ?
If this does happen it's almost for sure because you did not pay attention to what is going on.
Such as when Moto-E v1 guys come to the Moto-E 2015 section..
And in this case i have repeatedly warned these guys.. just use stuff for your phone. (to be extra safe)
Which is simply common sense.
The big problem is people have a small attention span and do not read what is typed out.
Warnings, disclaimers and instructions & requirements.
MANY people here have a Signature that says do not PM me !
I had a hunch i knew why too.
The big reason is the public can benefit from us talking publicly.
Answer a question 1 time and it can be the answer for 100 other people. (instead of 100 PM's)
So will the stuff i share brick your phone?
If you put the Logo or Animation on a different phone then yes it might.
But you will all notice i am trying hard to test anything i share first on my very own phone. (before sharing)
So it works for me but i obviously can not give any guarantees.
The biggest thing to watch out for is the phone model.. is the thing you see working on you phone model# ?
I do not own every phone model of Moto-E so i can not say for sure.
Although i have looked at a variety of firmware packages and seen a lot of the same stuff.
So someone could say post a question saying will this work on my XT1506 etc
And myself or other may know the answer..
The Moto-E v1 "Condor" users should avoid Logo's and Animations i think made for Moto-E 2015 phones.
And vice versa.. they may work but don't ask me i only have the newer one
It's worth mentioning again the BootAnimations are very different between Moto versions.
The first gen version uses image-sets for Animations and the new Moto-E uses MP4 videos.
If someone has a question just post it publicly please so we can all share the knowledge
I always advise making a backup of your system too (i use TWRP) and then also copy the backups to my PC.
I also advise backing up anything you use custom.. such the Logo or Animation.
The default logo.bin file is in the Firmware packages easily found here. (restore the original with FASTBOOT if needed)
And the BootAnimation.zip is already on your phone (back up original one before using a custom one)
(If the BootAnimation fails it should simply not show up when starting)
Anyway if you have questions on the forum provide as much related info as you can..
Such as your phone model and version of Android or Custom ROM etc.
That should help myself or others provide some answers.
I would personally not do anything custom unless you know how to restore that to the default / stock.
In other words do not change it unless you know how to put back how it was when it worked.
There is no guarantees with any of this stuff people post here..

Been doing some testing and i am suspicious Motorola made some mistakes.
For one thing the quality of the Video's are super high.
Also the frame rate is 24ps and the Lollipop one was 30fps.
What i shared was 99.99% the same in EVERY way as the original MM Animation.
Which is a problem..
- File size is super mega high, almost 10mb's (Lollipop's was less than 1mb)
- The Stitches time / duration is way too long.
The original is about 4,000 kbps bit-rate.. but it only needs to be about half of that.
(Lollipop's was 600 kbps)
The MM video needs to be higher though because of the new background texture used.
Putting the bit-rate too low will cause excessive flickering in the animation.
On Lollipop it had a simple solid white background which allows for getting away with far lower bit-rates.
I did a LOT of quality testing and i think the best bit-rate for Stitches is about 2,300 kbps
But i also changed the frame rate too.
Why ?
I suspect Motorola may have meant to use 30fps like on Lollipop (but used 24 instead)
Using 30 fps will make the quality a little better and also shorten the video time slightly.
It seems to be running better now at 30 FPS. (looks normal to me)
Here check out my break down of stats..
Lollipop - 10.977 + 1.735 = 12.712 seconds (864 kb) - Stock 600 kbps / 30 fps.
Stitches - 15.0 + 4.0 = 19.0 seconds (8.64 mb) - Stock 4,000 kbps / 24 fps.
Stitches - 12.13 + 3.204 = 15.334 (4.04 mb) - My new black 2,300 kbps / 30 fps TEST.
So following this guys ? LOL
One thing i am saying is the 2nd part of the animation is never shown..
It takes 15+ seconds to get to the 2nd clip in the animation.
I made a test version using only the 2nd clip and checked my boot time.
My phone *visibly* runs the part 2 loop 3.8 times = slightly under 12 seconds.
So was this the intention by Motorola ? I highly doubt that (why bother making it if no one will ever see it ?)
I will add my test version so guys can try it out.. it's actually cool just on it's own i think.
In the meantime i am thinking of what to do with the part 1 video to shorten it.
I think i would either have to cut some part out or speed it up time wise even more.
Another option is to drop the 2nd clip entirely and optimize it's quality and frame-rate and set it to loop.
Since it's too long the majority of people would never see it loop even once anyway.
(This would make the bootanimation.zip 3.29mb's instead of 9.26 mb's)
So i am adding the Hidden-Clip#2 Looping Test version as an attachment here (it's 769 kb's)

What i will post now is simply the Marshmallow Stitches Animation "black" but fixed up as best i can..
I explained how it's improved on the previous comment.
So this is 30fps / 2300 kbps / a bit shorter time duration @ 4 mb's
What i uploaded has the Intro part then the 2nd looping forever part (like the original)
This newest version is half the size of the original but the best quality i can do i think.
It also has both parts.
In case people did not know the Stock animations from Moto are *usually* 2 video files in a zip + 1 text file.
(I was discussing earlier if it would be good to drop one etc)
I know this all is a whole lot of word salad so sorry about that people.
For those interested in the details i was hoping to just put it out there.
And of course what ever i share is fair game.. do what you want with it all people.
I repeat this is just a mod of the stock Marshmallow Boot Animation with a black background.
(i put the stock Marshmallow Boot LOGO converted to black on a separate topic AND on the 1st post here)
Lastly i added this new "best version" as an attachment and i also quickly retested installing it and viewing now.
(It looks like the animated preview on the 1st post)
The idea is so your phone boots up and it looks like the stock marshmallow stuff but with a black background now.
