LG G5 USB Drivers - T-Mobile LG G5 Questions & Answers

I am looking for the LG G5 USB drivers for Windows 10. I haven't seen our model of the device in the LG Mobile Support Tool so I was wondering how I go about installing the drivers. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Oh yeah thanks. I thought it was just me.

Hi I'm not sure if I'm going to be using a Windows 10 computer but you never know. So I downloaded as well for future reference. Thank you kindly.

Why in the hell did they not install automatically. #tooeasy

Will this driver work with Windows 7?
Old post but hopefully someone out there is still looking... will the above driver work with Windows 7? Also, is this a first party driver from LG that I just haven't been able to find on their site? Oh, a minor (?) wrinkle here - my G5 is the Canadian model (LG-H831), carrier is Rogers.
The answer I'm hoping for, is "yes, that driver will work" (as opposed to "it should work")
Maybe I'm just being overly paranoid, but I'm generally leery installing drivers from anywhere other than the manufacturer. But the existing drivers are incredibly buggy on my PC - sometimes the phone shows as a drive, sometimes I can see the SD Card, sometimes I can enable USB debugging. But mostly, none of the above. Aarrgh!

Dear All,
I am facing an issue while trying to install the driver of the "Android ADB Interface" on Windows 10. The procedure of the installation is:
1- Install latest LG Drivers "LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0".
2- From "Device Manager".
3- Click on "Action".
4- Add legacy hardware.
5- Next.
6- Click on "Advanced".
7- Choose "Android Phone".
8- Click on "Have Disk".
9- Click on "Browse".
10- Choose "android_winusb".
11- Choose "Android ADB Interface".
12- Then Next.
13- After that you will get this message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
So please may someone provide me the correct driver.
Thanks.

Nope, still nothing. My Razr HD comes up fine, but not the Nexus 5. Think it's a conflict in drivers?

definitely...the only time i ever had Nexus driver issues was when i changed from HTC to Nexus
the best i can offer is how i fixed it...get a copy of Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit and follow his instructions from deleting all other drivers and installing new ones...he offers (i think) 4 different options and you just work your way through them until one stick (the RAW drivers always work for me)
and note that the Toolkit doesn't work on 4.4 yet, so only use it to clear and update drivers

Thank you n7of9 the link you provided worked for me.
Another solution...
Plug the phone into your computer. Go to "Device Manager" and find the Nexus <x> device where-ever it's listed (may not be called "Nexus...", though on my machine with the real drivers it was).
Right click, choose "update driver software"
Select "browse my computer"
Select "let me pick..."
Choose the option. "usb composite device"
Apply and close all windows.
Disconnect and reconnect the phone to the computer.
The phone will now allow you to move files to it properly. Something weird with proper phone drivers. I believe you need to reverse this if you need to use ADB again in the future.
This worked and also fixed another popular issue
Not only does this fix the MTP connection issue to move folders to root folder. But it also now allows me to see the preview thumbnails of my media! This was a huge problem on my other phones and many many people including me were never able to fix that. All the ideas to get around or create USB Mass Storage instead of MTP after 4.1 were fails.

Worked perfect, thanks
what worked for me
In windows 8.1
I plugged in my nexus and browsed to device manager in control panel
I uninstalled the device (and deleted the driver)
I unplugged the nexus 5
I plugged it back in
Windows recognized it as a proper MTP device
I think the problem was something to do with windows recognizing it as an ADB device (I had installed the toolkit before etc)
This fixed it for me

Hi,
I did all the steps mentioned, and ran the driver test - everything works fine, success.
However, I still cant see my device in "This PC"...
What is even more weird, that it only disappeared couple of days ago, and I didnt do anything to my computer at all....
Any other way to get devices to show? (Nexus 10 or Nexus 4 stopped showing too).....
Maybe problem is that it is being shows as ACER ADB Interface? But i cant change that to MTP anyway..

Nexus 5 showing up as ACER ADB Interface Windows 8.1

Hi guys, I recently installed windows 8.1 and now my N5 shows up in device manager as ACER ADB Interface and I can't acces MTP , I didn't had this problem with windows 7 , it worked perfectly back than ( i have unlocked and rooted my N5 with windows 7 without any issues ) . What can I do to make it work with windows 8.1 ?
I had the same, you have to go into Device Manager and roll back the driver to the Google one. Proper PITA
I can't do it, the roll back option is grayed out
I have managed to make it work, nevermind .

I rolled the driver back, but it keeps updating to it. I've uninstalled and deleted the driver, yet it keeps reinstalling it. Somehow, my MTP connection started working again. Not sure how though. If I knew which KB update it was, I'd uninstall it from there.

The other option is to manually change the driver in Device Manager from the ACER one to the Google one. I think it's happened as M$ have the ACER driver digitally signed whereas the Google one isn't so it'll always choose the signed driver...

I'm not sure how to do that, because, of course, if you try to update it, it will say that the Acer one installed is already the best driver. And after uninstalling it, upon plugging it back in, it updates to the Acer driver automatically again.

Hmmm, I've only ever used the Google drivers from the SDK until this stupid ACER one appeared. Managed to get back to it now so it's all good. Perhaps download the Google driver and then point to it?

This worked for me
Hi guys, I had the same problem. My phone was configured as MTP but when i connected to Win 7 it would appears in the Device Manager list as "ADB", this wouldn't allow me to transfer files so what worked for me was:
1- Connect your Mobile to the PC and it appears as ADB Driver (In the device manager screen), rignt click on ADB and select Browse my computer for driver software.
2- Choose let me pick a from list of devices on my computer and choose the option MTP instead of ADB.
3- Did that and problem solve, hope this helps for you !!
Delete this Acer ADB driver when you uninstall it
I have the same issue. Here is what I did and that resolved the issue. Go to "Device Manager" to uninstall the Acer driver. The uninstall window pops up asking you if you want to uninstall it. There is a check box that says "Delete the driver." Make sure you check that off and then go ahead and uninstall it. Once that's done, plug your Nexus 5 back in. The correct MTP driver will now be installed and your computer will recognize the phone normally. Hope this helps.
Experiencing the same on Windows 7...have tried everything suggested
Really hoping someone can help because I've just about had it with this. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have a brand new Nexus 5 16GB. As others have indicated, when I plug my phone into my computer with debugging enabled, it creates an "Android Composite ADB Interface" device listed under "ACER Device" in Device Manager. See attachment.
I have tried every permutation of the 'uninstall driver, manually install Google USB driver' solution, to no avail. The best way I can describe what I'm seeing is that Windows is forcibly categorizing the device as an 'ACER Device' even though the driver files themselves are telling it otherwise.
If debugging is DISABLED, and EITHER MTP or PTP is ENABLED, everything is just fine - the default Windows drivers for those devices kick in, and no 'ACER Device' category is created.
If debugging is ENABLED, and MTP and PTP are DISABLED, when I tell Windows to use the Google USB driver, it says that the device could not be installed.
If debugging is ENABLED, and MTP is ENABLED, the 'ACER Device' issue rears its ugly head even when I tell Windows to use the Google USB driver.
I've already disabled Windows automatically fetching a driver online, so that's not to blame.
If this is the result of a Windows Update, does anyone know the number of the update so I might try uninstalling it? I can't seem to find it despite searching.
Hoping someone out there can help. Thanks!

[Q] Issues while installing drivers

It has now been over 7 hourse since i started trying to unlock the bootloader. But to no use. I tried downloading the Universal ADB Driver and the alternative given on the thread. but facing issues with both. I dont think the drivers are getting installed correctly. While the later didnt do much, i tried the alternative which reads:
1. Install the latest Samsung drivers: SAMSUNG USB Driver v1.5.33.0
2. Restart the computer (very important)
3. Go to Device Manager, find the Android device, and select Update Driver Software.
4. Select Browse my computer for driver software
5. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
6. Select ADB Interface from the list
7. Select SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface (this is a signed driver). If you get a warning, select Yesto continue.
Done!
But on step 6, I dont see any option to select ADB interface. really bugged with this issue as I have watched several videos on youtube but none is really addressing my concern.
Btwn..not a noob here..Have been around since 2011 and did a lot of modding on my Nexus 5. But I can certainly use some helping hand here..
Cheers!!

Always uninstall any previous drivers before installing new ones. They might cause conflicts.

No options like mtp
For anyone who cant see the mtp option in the list of drivers follow the first part of this tutorial video. Install the feature pack from Microsoft and it will then be listed as mobile device.
Didn't work
When I select update driver and select "Let me browse this computer", it does not show "MTP device" in the list of updates. All it shows is "Android ADB Interface"
Also in the Youtube video method that is given, I downloaded the update for Windows 8.1 64-bit because that is the system I have and it said "This update is not applicable to your computer"
Please help. Distressed with this problem. I am running an Mi4i with CrDroid ROM in it.
Found the option
Hey guys, I've found the option OP mentioned about. If the update driver software window doesn't give you a list of compatible hardware automatically (like OP's), then you'll need to choose the "(Show All Devices)" option and then scroll to "(Standard MTP Device)". Click the "MTP Device" option and then next, and you're good to go.
Sorry I couldn't upload any pics
It worked

Help, i updated the wrong driver to my android driver via device manager on pc

Hello, i want to ask for some help, so i have accidentally updated my android driver with an adb interface driver for computer, and now when i debugging my device to the computer, it is listed in "universal serial bus devices" not in "other devices" anymore, it is a problem because i wanted to install google camera for my phone, but now my phone can't stand in fastboot mode anymore, it always asked me to shutdown my phone, maybe because i have updated it with the wrong driver.
I have tried updating it with the driver i got from the internet, but it always show me "the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device" like in the photo i have attached, i'm sure this driver list was compatible before, because i have tried it before i updated the wrong driver to my android driver.
Any help will be appreciated, and i'm sorry for my bad english, thanks.

On Android-side there is NOTHING to install: ADB & Fastboot daemons are implemented in every Android device's bootloader. You have only to install the matching USB-driver on Windows computer.
