Custom Kernel for S4 (int) gt9505 - Galaxy S 4 General

Is there any custom custom kernel for cm13 or aosp 6.0?
It should have custom hotplugs, undervolting and many different cpu governors.
Thanks

Alucard kernel. It comes included with Optimized CM13 rom and AOSP 6.0 rom.

Do you know how to download just the kernel?

No. You will have to compile it yourself or extract it from the rom.
A public release is only available for CM12 roms. CM13 never got a public release.

Install the rom and flashify. In flashify you can backup the kernel and flash it on diffrent rom that doesn't have alucard kernel.

TWRP can also backup the kernel.
But will it actually work?
I tried flashing the boot.img from the AOSP rom with alucard kernel onto another rom and it didn't work.

Alucard kernel has modified ramdisks, so it could become unstable on other roms apart from the roms it is shipped with.

The rom thread said it is.
It actually booted but I didn't have mobile network after flashing the alucard boot.img.

Did you tried it with flashify? (make backup from aosp rom and restore kernel on new rom)

No. I just extracted the boot.img from the JDC rom and flashed it with TWRP on VRToxin rom.

N5 custom roms which focused on battery life

Hello everyone, I'm looking a custom rom (android version 5.x) which has a stock rom design and it focused on battery life. What is your suggestions from your experience?
Thank you
Roms have no effect on battery life. what you are searching for is a custom kernel. try franco's.

you can set a lower max cpu frequency to save a bit more power, if that's your priority.

It disables the little cores and only enables them when the big cores become overloaded. On stock rom it gives extra smoothness because it use the big cores most of the time.In cm roms its enabled by default. Sorry, i forgot to explain
Great work mate. Could you please explain that init.d stuff a little - I'm on stock rom/kernel and haven't got init.d folder so I assumed it's simply not supported, but when I played with the rom in Superr's Kitchen it was saying that init.d is enebled in the kernel by default. It's a bit confusing - does the stock rom have this support by default?
@Sickaxis79
I just found there's no cluster_plug in my /sys/module...

You can create the init.d folder using a file browser if its missing. Im also using stock rom and it works. Im using a custom kernel, but it also works with stock kernel.
Are you sure you are missing the cluster_plug folder? Im using stock eu 6.0.1.
Its located in /sys/module/cluster_plug

I found Kernel Adiutor can emulate init.d, so it should't be a problem to execute the scripts, but anyway cluster_plug is missing. I'm on XDRom which is just debloated EU 6.0.1. I'm wondering if it's possible that debloat could actually be responsible for this

That could actually be the case as clusterplug is listed in Squid's kernel features. I guess it means it's not used in stock one

Sure, but then i saw phoenix kernel released a new msm hotplug kernel and was thinking to try to create 1 script that is compatible and work with cluster- /msm- or no hotplug at all together, instead of several scripts. Dont know if it gonna work but it can never hurt trying.

I Shall post the post_boot scripts tomorrow again since most asking for a permanent solution without launching the scripts manually after the phone booted. And thanks for confirming cluster_plug was added after flashing squid kernel. Will update the thread a little.

Perhaps you could use this tool to enable init.d on stock kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...ript-zip-init-d-enabler-stock-kernel-t3347724
you still need custom recovery though, to flash the zip

Rooted but unable to overwrite system files.

I tried to overwrite system file in vendor/lib/camera to do some test work but it refuses to do so. Does anyone know why and what's the solution? I'm using the latest solidexplorer but it kept giving error of failing.

Yeah stock kernel has root issues
Androplus has one in the GSI page and the fire kennel will let you make changes
Fire kernel and androplus, which is more preferred?

You can edit from TWRP. Just mount system after unchecking read only.
