This is a thread for the ZTE T815/Telstra Tempo T815. I hope other users who have this device might get some benefit and enjoyment out of this thread.
BACKUP!
Start here for a guide to extracting a ROM dump from your T815 and processing it to create a backup you can use to restore your phone if anything goes wrong for you
Custom Recovery and Root Method
I have ported PhilZ Touch Recovery V6 (6.59.0 - based on CWM 6.0.5.1) to the T815. Installation method and rooting instructions can be found here
Custom ROMs (list will be updated as new ROMs are posted)
[ROM] [PussyFap V3][KitKat] ZTE T815 - here
[ROM] [Pure LG G3][KitKat] ZTE T815 - here

How install custom recovery and root ZTE T815
DISCLAIMER:
Rooting your phone and using custom Recoveries and ROM's have risks and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturers. In case of any mishap I am not responsible if you brick/ruin your phone in any way.
Basic computer skills are required and minimal knowledge about the phone and phone utilities also.
Make sure that whatever you do, you are doing it at your own responsibility.
I have been able to port PhilZ Touch Recovery V6 (6.59.0 - based on CWM 6.0.5.1) to the ZTE T815. To flash this recovery to your device you will need the following:
- USB VCOM Driver - Installation tutorial and download of driver here (Don't worry that it says MTK6577, it works fine with MTK6572 based devices)
- Smart Phone Flash Tool - Download for all versions can be found here - scroll to the bottom of the list to find latest version
- Scatter file and custom recovery image - download here
- PC and USB cable
Method:
1. Follow the tutorial and install the USB VCOM driver.
2. Install SP Flash Tool - once installed, run as administrator.
3. On the "Download" tab page, click the box on the right hand side named "Scatter-loading". Browse to the location where you saved the downloaded "MT6572_Android_scatter.txt" file, select it and click "Open".
4. In the lower section of SP Flash Tool screen, tick the box next to RECOVERY. This is the ONLY box that is to be selected.
5. On the RECOVERY line, go across to the to the blank cell under the "Location" heading and click on it. Now browse to the location where you saved the downloaded "recovery.img", select it and click "Open". The line should now show the location of the file.
6. Turn off your phone and remove the battery.
7. On SP Flash Tool, click the "Download" button at the top of the page and THEN connect your phone to the PC via the USB cable (battery still out).
8. All going well, you should now see the download progress being displayed across the bottom of the screen. Once completed, you will see a big green tick displayed in the middle of the screen. Success! Your phone now has PhilZ Touch Recovery installed.
To access Recovery Mode, from power off hold down the volume up button and power button together for around 6 seconds (press and hold volume up first then press and hold power). You will now see the recovery main menu.
Root: (after you have your custom recovery installed)
1. Download supersu.zip (latest version) here - thanks to @Chainfire
2. Send zip file to your SD card.
3. Boot into recovery and install zip from SD card.
4. Reboot - your device is now rooted.
Important:
Make yourself a backup. (Note: the external SD card is /storage/sdcard1 - if you try to backup to sdcard0, you will run out of memory.)

If you are in recovery mode with a purple background and a green android in the middle then you are in the recovery mode that we set out to achieve. Just touch "go back" on the screen until you are at the main menu and then select "reboot phone now" and you will boot to your stock OS.
If you are on the black recovery screen (stock recovery), it means that some part of the process did not work and you didn't get the custom recovery flashed correctly. You can navigate through the stock recovery menu by pressing volume down to select the line with the option you want and then confirm your selection with volume up (which I think goes against "normal" thinking and is a trap for making incorrect selections, so be careful, says he who has fallen for this same trap and blitzed his phone!).
You need to get back to the "reboot now" option and then try the process again (be sure you have the USB VCOM drivers installed properly.):good:

is there any new roms coming in? what about CyanogenMod? are you guys making a "pure" android ROM for T815? i didn't like the ***** fap rom as it doesn't work well with small screen, lg rom is perfect but slow, is the cherry rom near stock??
PS: great work keep up. if you could maybe remove the dual sim notification as i only have 1 sim slot, also maybe its a good idea to upload de-bloated stock rom for t815

Thanks for your feedback. I do have plans to upload more ROMs as I port them and get most of the bugs squashed but, as I am on a massive learning curve regarding porting myself, it is taking a bit of time. I don't reckon I've done too bad so far for only a couple of weeks! I will leave the CyanogenMod ROM for a while, as it looks like it is one of the more complicated ROMs to port, but I will try to get it up here at some stage. I am working with a pure android ROM at the moment so hopefully that works out and I can upload it soon. The Cherry ROM is debloated and has some nice features but the only way to find out is to give it a whirl.
As for the dual sim thing, I am still trying to work out how to modify the ROM to only show the one sim (as I said, still got "L" plates on) and once I work out how to do this I will repost the corrected ROMs. I agree that a debloated stock ROM is a great idea so I will work on that when time permits.:highfive:

LOL! Around 6 month ago I was looking for a cheap phone to mod and my final choice was between the Tempo T815 and Pixi 3(4), the Pixi winning out because it was $5 cheaper. It was the right choice as I found @kirito9's thread which was crammed full of info and ROMs. I learned a few things about working with the Mediatek MT6572 chipset and porting ROM's (thanks again to @kirito9 here, absolute legend) over there, all the while watching a small thread about the Tempo T815 where they had all stopped posting as no one could get root on the T815. I thought I could take the bits that I have worked out and apply them to this little supported device so here we are. I am no expert on all things MT6572 but I am working things out slowly so hang in there and I will put more ROMs and helpful info up here when I can.

Full ROM Dump Backup & Read Back Method
This guide will show you how to make a full ROM dump of your ZTE T815 (Mediatek MT6572) device. It can be used to make a full backup at anytime but I strongly suggest that you follow this procedure prior to making any modifications to your device. That way you will always have a completely stock unmodified image to return to if things go bad or aren't what you expected. Don't say you haven't been warned!
Things you will need:
- ADB Drivers - here or here
- USB VCOM Driver - Installation tutorial and download of driver here (Don't worry that it says MTK6577, it works fine with MTK6572 based devices)
- MTK Droid Tools - here - scroll to the bottom of the list to find latest version
- Smart Phone Flash Tool - Download for all versions can be found here - scroll to the bottom of the list to find latest version
- Notepad++ - here
- A PC and USB Cable
Preparations:
- Install ADB Drivers system wide and follow tutorial to install USB VCOM Driver
- Install Notepad++
- Create a folder somewhere convenient (e.g. desktop) and give it a name related to phone/mods etc.
- Into this folder, install MTK Droid Tools and SP Flash Tool.
Process:
Make Scatter File
Run MTK Droid Tools as administrator. Once the program has started, connect your phone via the USB cable and you will see that your phone information loads up on the left side of the page. Below this you will see a button that says "Block Map". Press it. You will now see a screen displaying Block Info and at the bottom left a button "Create scatter file". Press this button and save the "MT6572_Android_scatter.txt" file to the folder that you made earlier. Don't close MTK Droid Tools, just minimise it at this stage and unplug your phone.
Read Back ROM From Phone
Run SP Flash Tool as administrator. By default it starts on the Download tab. You will see a button labelled "Scatter-loading" at the top right of the screen. Press this button and direct it to the "MT6572_Android_scatter.txt" that you just saved. Once loaded, change to the "readback" tab along the top and then click "Add". A line is added below and you need to click in the blank area under the heading "File". Browse to the location where you want to save your ROM dump (in that same folder again would be appropriate) make sure you retain the file name of "ROM_0" and press "Save".
There is now a dialogue box that pops up, "Readback block start address". The "Type" must remain as Hex. The "Start address" should also remain as it is - 0x0000000000000000. The "Length" address is determined by the address of the partition we wish to finish our ROM dump at. I would suggest that we use the address of the last partition in the phone. To find out this address we need to examine the scatter file. Open the scatter file with Notepad++ (this will keep the formatting in place). Easy way is to right click on the file and select "Edit with Notepad++" from drop down menu. Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the FAT partition information. The "linear_start_addr:" value here is where to end the ROM dump so carefully copy the address and paste into the "Readback block start address" dialogue in the "Length" field. (e.g. the linear start address of my FAT partition is 0x97140000 so this is the figure I enter into "Length").
Note: If you have already been using your phone before doing this backup method, you may wish to create a ROM dump that excludes your personal info. If so, you might choose not include the CACHE and USERDATA partitions in the backup so you would end the ROM dump at the linear start address of the CACHE partition (in my phone this is 0x36340000, for example).
Once the "Length" value is entered, press OK. Turn your phone off at this stage. Once it is fully powered down, click "Read Back" and then connect your powered off phone to the USB cable and all things going well you should see the progress bar at the bottom go blue and start moving. Once completed successfully you will see a green circle with a tick in it. Done! Disconnect your phone.
Process ROM For Use With SPFT
Turn your phone back on and when ready reconnect to MTK Droid Tools. Change to "root, backup, recovery" tab and press on the button labelled "To process file ROM_ from Flash Tool". Browse to your modding folder location and open "ROM_0". The processing will start and you will be prompted to make a CWM recovery automatically. Answer "No" and then "Cancel" when it asks to choose recovery. You will see the process in action and it will end with the message "Task is complete" at the end of the script. The folder containing this processed backup is located in yourmoddingfolder/Mtk_Droid_Tool_v2.5.3/backups. If you examine the contents of this processed ROM backup you will note that the output folder now also contains a scatter.txt file.
Restore process to follow - edit soon:good:

[GUIDES] Fresh out of box Galaxy S 4G | Heimdall One-Click For Dummies

[NOTICE] THIS THREAD CONTAINS TWO GUIDES:
[POST #1] Fresh out of box Galaxy S 4G [SOLVED]
[POST #2] Heimdall One-Click For Dummies

[Note: You can use this guide where applicable - look for the bold section headers that pertain to the state of your device and go from there.]
--------------------
What I have on it fresh out of the box:
o To determine what you are currently running - Go to [App Drawer], [Settings], [About phone]:
-Model number: SGH-T959V
Firmware version: 2.2.1
Baseband version: T959VUVKD1
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FROYO.VUVKD1
o If your phone information is different than above (i.e. KB5) - this guide will work as long as Kies mini will recognize your phone. Kies mini WILL NOT recognize ROOTED devices.--------------------
What can I do:
-Upgrade to GB 2.3.6
-Back up efs Folder (Important!)
-Root
-Flash Custom Kernel (to obtain CWM)
-Flash Custom Rom
-Flash Custom Tweaks (cautiously as most custom ROMs have tweaks built in)
-Flash Custom MOD's.
--------------------
What should I know first:
-What is a ROM: Literally it stands for Read Only Memory, in this case referring to the phone's internal memory where your firmware/apps are stored. It is what you see and use when you are on your phone.
-What is a Kernel: The bridge between applications and actual data processing done at the hardware level. The kernel helps the ROM talk to the Hardware.
-What is the efs file: “This is a very sensitive system folder that contains Phone-specific information such as the IMEI (encrypted in the nv_data.bin), wireless devices MAC addresses, product code (also in the nv_data.bin), and much more.” (from XDA article)
-What is rooting: Allows you to make changes to your Android system, as well as enable you to use features that are otherwise locked away. (from Samsung Galaxy S 4G Wiki)
-ClockworkMod / CWM: A custom recovery allowing you to perform several advanced recovery, restoration, installation and maintenance operations that aren’t possible with stock recovery. (from here)
> > You can find more applicable definitions here < <.--------------------
Going from Stock Froyo (Firmware version: 2.2.1) to Stock GB (Firmware version: 2.3.6):
NOTES
* * I chose to go from Stock Froyo to Stock GB using Kies mini. This gives me the GB Bootloaders that I need to make it easier to flash a custom kernel and custom ROM’s.
* * Having GB already on the phone allows us to download SGS Kernel Flasher (must be rooted to use) from the app market to flash a custom kernel that will give me CWM5 and Voodoo Lagfix.
* * Also if anything screws up (i.e. IMEI), I can just take my phone back to where I bought it and get another one as this has happened to many… and fixes for it are not clear and work randomly but not for all. And unfortunately peoples phones have screwed up updating the way T-Mobile and Samsung tell you to update.o How to check your IMEI:
-Go to [App Drawer], [Settings], [About phone], [Status].
-Towards the bottom you will see [IMEI].
o Let's get started:
-Download Kies mini if you do not already have it. When you follow this link you will see two tabs - 'Manuals' and 'Software ' - click [Software] and download.
-Make sure your phone is charged.
-Double check that USB Debugging is not enabled. Go to [Settings] > [Applications] > [Development] and UN-Check [USB debugging].
-Start Kies mini on the computer.
-Make sure phone is not connected to computer yet.
-In USB Settings on my phone I select [Kies (Firmware update)] if it is not set to ask every time.
-Plugged in phone, let device drivers install on computer. You will see a notification on your computer when complete.
-Then Kies mini will recognize the phone.
-Hit [upgrade] and wait.
-Phone will eventually reboot. Check your IMEI.
--------------------
I am on Stock GB (Firmware version: 2.3.6) now what:
NOTES
* * Some have learned the hard way the importance of making a back up of the efs folder on your phone. The efs folder contains important information about your phone and in the event any of the files in the folder are corrupted there is NO clear and concrete fix without a back up!
* * I use Super Managero Now let's back up our efs folder:
-Open Super Manager on your phone and go into [File Manager].
-Select [Back up level folder] twice.
-Scroll down and look for your folder called [efs].
-Long press the folder and select [copy].
-Now look for [sdcard] and select.
-Now select the clipboard (or press menu, then paste) to paste to your sdcard.
-Now copy over to your computer for safe keeping.
o It is time to Root [CREDIT and THANKS TO SHORTFUSE FOR SUPERONECLICK]:
-Download the current version of SuperOneClick (as of 05/02/12 is SuperOneClick v2.3.3).
-Extract the contents of the .zip where you can find it on your computer.
-Open the SuperOneClick folder you just extracted.
-Make sure phone is in Debugging Mode. Go to [Settings] > [Applications] > [Development] and check [USB debugging].
-Connect your phone to your computer.
-Open SuperOneClick.exe. You DO NOT need to change any settings!
-Either [Donate Now] or select [Donate Later].
-Click [Root] and wait and keep waiting.
-Ahhh, Rooted!
--------------------
I am on Stock GB (Firmware version: 2.3.6), I have an efs backup and rooted now what:
NOTES
* * I need a custom kernel to give me CWM and Voodoo Lagfix.
* * The purpose of the custom kernel is to give us CWM to flash a Custom ROM. When we flash the Custom ROM - the Custom ROM will overwrite the kernel we flash now with the kernel included with the ROM.
* * Do NOT extract the contents of .zip files. When flashing - we flash the .zip.o Let's get started:
-Go to market, download and install SGS Kernel Flasher
-Download your choice of kernel from the Galaxy S 4G Android Development section to the root of your sdcard. Links provided below.
o Kernel Recommendations as of 05/02/12:
-Basic with a Twist SGS4G KJ6 1.1 rc1 (thanks to AntonX )
-Bhundven's Subtly Modified Stock with CWM5 + Voodoo Lagfix (thanks to bhundven)
o Let's flash the kernel:
-Open the SGS Kernel Flasher app.
-First select [backup kernel].
-When it if finished you will still be on the same screen and it will see a green vertical bar at the bottom of the screen next to - Backed up as.....
-Now select [choose kernel] and a file manager will appear.
-Select [parent directory] and you will be on the root of your sdcard.
-Navigate to the bottom and find the kernel .zip file you copied over.
-Once selected you will be back at the main screen of SGS Kernel Flasher.
-Select [flash kernel].
-The kernel will flash and your phone will reboot.
-You will hear Linda speaking on the Galaxy S 4G boot screen (only if this is your first time flashing a custom kernel).
-Wait and wait some more! She will keep talking to you!
-Eventually the phone will reboot.
--------------------
I am on Stock GB (Firmware version: 2.3.6), I have an efs backup, Rooted and have custom kernel with CWM now what:
NOTES
* * Now it is time for the Custom ROM!
* * Do NOT extract the contents of .zip files. When flashing - we flash the .zip.o Let's get started:
-To make it easy for you to access CWM Recovery without having to do the button combination - You can download Quick Boot (Reboot) here: QuickBoot.apk (link is courtesy of FB)
o How to navigate in CWM Recovery - TWO Methods:
-Using Side Buttons:
-To navigate up and down - use the Volume up and down buttons.
-To select - use the power button.
-Using Soft Keys:
-To navigate down - use the [menu] soft key (first soft key).
-To navigate up - use the [home] soft key (second soft key).
-To Go Back - use the [back] soft key (third soft key).
-To select an option - use the [search] soft key (fourth soft key).
o First things First - Nandroid Back Up:
-In CWM Recovery - Navigate down to [backup and restore] and select.
-Then select [backup]. This will take a bit so wait until it is finished.
-Now you have a Nandroid backup (which also gives you another backup of your efs folder) and you will be back at the main screen of CWM Recovery.
NOTES
* * If you decide to try a different ROM other than the suggested ROM's below - please be aware there are Gingerbread-based ROM's and FROYO-based ROM's. At this point in the guide - you MUST select a Gingerbread-based ROM to flash.o Custom Gingerbread ROM Recommendations as of 05/02/12:
-Follow install directions labeled 'ROM's WITH SGS4G CWM ROM Installer'

o Let's get started:
-Download your choice GB ROM from your computer. Make sure the downloaded zip looks right (mainly size – I have had to try downloading two or three times to get the full zip for some reason).
-Copy [<< Name of Custom ROM you chose here >>.zip] to the root of your sdcard.
-Open [Quick Boot (Reboot)] and select [Recovery].
-If it is the first time using Quick Boot (Reboot) - you will need to allow superuser permission if this is the first time using the app.
-Your phone will reboot and you will be in CWM Recovery.
o Now let's finally flash the Custom ROM:
NOTES
* *A note before flashing - The steps to actually flashing the Custom ROM's change as new methods become available. As an example - SGS4G CWM ROM Installer by FB is now used when flashing newer ROM's.
* *FB's SGS4G CWM ROM Installer gives us a nice GUI (graphical user interface) when flashing ROM's. Thank you FB!
* *I will do my best to keep this guide up-to-date with the correct steps to flash the Custom ROM's recommended in this post - however if you notice something has changed - please PM me and let me know so I can up the guide!
* * [DIRECTIONS] ROM's WITH SGS4G CWM ROM Installer * *
-After the Nandroid Backup you should be on the main screen of CWM Recovery - navigate down to [install zip from sdcard] and select.
-Then select [choose zip from sdcard].
-Navigate down towards the bottom of the list that appears and you should see [- << Name of ROM you want to install >>.zip]. Select it.
-Navigate down to [Yes - Install << Name of ROM you want to install >>.zip] (sometimes the name of the ROM will be cut off due to the length of the name).
-Select the ROM and wait. The SGS4G CWM ROM Installer will appear and guide you from here.
-Being new to flashing - select [Quick] install when prompted.
-When SGS4G CWM ROM Installer is finished - your phone should reboot into your NEW CUSTOM ROM!
-In the event your phone does not automatically restart after SGS4G CWM ROM Installer is finished - select [***** Go Back *****] until you are back to the main CWM Recovery screen and select [reboot system now].
-Go to App Drawer, [Settings], [About phone], [Status] and check your [IMEI].
* * [DIRECTIONS] ROM's WITHOUT SGS4G CWM ROM Installer * *
-When installation is finished - select [***** Go Back *****] until you are back to the main CWM Recovery screen and select [reboot system now]
-Once rebooted into your new ROM - let you phone sit for 10 minutes to allow time for your caches to build.
-After 10 minutes - long press the power button and select [Recovery].
-In CWM Recovery - navigate to [wipe data/factory reset] and select.
-Then navigate to [Yes --delete all user data]
-When factory reset is complete - reboot and ENJOY!
NOTES
* * Most Custom ROM's will be de-bloated - meaning a lot of the stock apps you may or may not be accustomed to are removed.
* * If you would like to re-install a stock app that is not in the Custom ROM you just flashed - Follow this link - Stock GB 2.3.6 APK Repository, download the APK you want to install and follow the directions in the first post of that thread.--------------------
[TWEAKS] I am on Stock GB (Firmware version: 2.3.6), I have an efs backup, rooted, have Custom Kernel with CWM and have a Custom ROM now what:NOTES
* * Now you can flash tweaks if you so desire!
* * Do NOT extract the contents of .zip files. When flashing - we flash the .zip.
* * Take note - Most Custom ROM's have tweaks built. As an example - icbinb 2.3.7_v2 has Universal Adrenaline Shotv14-1 cache scroll tweak built in. Read the first post of the Custom ROM thread you choose to determine what tweaks are built into the ROM.
* * Flashing more than one Tweak does not give the benefits of both Tweaks. The Tweaks are generally written to overwrite most of the settings that may already be on the phone. So - Pick a tweak and try it for a couple of days. And if you would like to try a different tweak go for it.
* * If you are on icbinb 2.3.7_v2 - To make it easy for you to access CWM Recovery without having to do the button combination - You can download Quick Boot (Reboot) here: QuickBoot.apk (link is courtesy of FB).
* * If you are on Valhalla - BlackEdition - You are now able to access CWM Recovery by holding down the power button. [Phone options] will open and you can select [Recovery] to easily access CWM Recovery.o Custom Tweak Options as of 03/02/12:
-Universal Adrenaline Shotv14-1 cache scroll tweak (thanks to dsexton702)
-A.S shot v15(beta) (thanks to dsexton702)
-Lightning Zap (thanks to thomas.raines) -- now using SGS ROM Installer
-ThunderBolt! v2.6.1 (thanks to pikachu01)
o Let's get started:
-Download the Tweak you have decided to try.
-Copy [<< Name of tweak you chose here >>.zip] to the root of your sdcard.
-Reboot into Recovery (refer to notes above depending on which Custom ROM you are using)
-Scroll down to [install zip from sdcard] using the methods previously given, then select [choose zip from scard].
-Go to bottom and find the name of the tweak you copied over and select it.
-Scroll down and select [Yes - Install << Name of tweak you chose here >>.zip].
-White letters will scroll and eventually say [Install from sdcard complete].
-Lightning Zap will now start SGS ROM Installer. Follow prompts. Select [Quick] Install.
-When finished select [*****Go Back*****].
-Then select [reboot system now].
-Let your phone sit for 10 minutes before using - most tweaks wipe your Dalvik Cache, which in turn, will rebuild itself properly by letting your phone sit. You may experience minor problems, lags, etc if you skip this step.
NOTES
* * To see the full benefits of most Tweaks - You need to give the Tweaks a day or two to settle in - or 'Soak In' as you will hear in the forum.--------------------

START HERE - - WHETHER FLASHING WITH BOOTLOADERS OR WITHOUT BOOTLOADERS - - START HERE----------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
* * When using Heimdall or ODIN - Designate USB Ports on your computer for each flashing program. Have one USB Port that you only use Heimdall for. Have one USB Port you only use ODIN for. This does not mean you cannot use the designated USB Ports for other functions NOT related to your phone. This is only for flashing with Heimdall and ODIN.
* * Always use a USB Port that is directly connected to your computer - NO USB Hubs or add-on Ports.
* * If possible - Start with a USB Port you have never plugged your phone in to. By doing this you will reduce your probabilities of running into problems.
* * If you have used your phone on every USB Port and/or have no idea where all you have plugged your phone into or used ODIN or Heimdall with - Download [usbdeview-x32.zip] for 32-bit operating systems or [usbdeview-x64.zip] for 64-bit operating systems. Uninstall anything you see that has Samsung and Android related.----------------------------------------------------------------
o Let's get started:
Go to the following thread: [The T959V Heimdall One-Click Collection] <---- Link
Look for [Download T959VUVKJ6 Stock UVKJ6] - After flashing this download you will have Pure Stock KJ6 Gingerbread. Ideal if you need to return phone for warranty purposes.
Start the download, create a folder on your [C:\] Drive naming it [Android] and save [T959VUVKJ6_STOCK-UVKJ6-One-Click.jar] to [C:\Android].
While the file is downloading follow this link: [Verify Java Version] <---- Link
Click [Verify Java version].

Hopefully you will see the following:
If you do not - update to the latest version of Java.
Now you should have [T959VUVKJ6_STOCK-UVKJ6-One-Click.jar] saved on your computer at [C:\Android] and you should have the current version of Java installed on your computer.
----------------------------------------------------------------
o Time to flash:
Go to the newly created folder - [C:\Android] - where you saved [T959VUVKJ6_STOCK-UVKJ6-One-Click.jar].
You will see [T959VUVKJ6_STOCK-UVKJ6-One-Click.jar]. Inside the window - Hold down shift and right-click. In the menu that appears - select [Open command window here].
The Command Prompt window will open and you will be at [C:\Android]. Type [java -jar T959VUVKJ6_STOCK-UVKJ6-One-Click.jar] and press [Enter] on your keyboard.
It will pause, say [false] and run some commands.
* * If you receive the error shown below - ['java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.] - you do not have Java set as a System Path Variable.
* * Directions to fix this error are at the very end of this post.
If you do not [Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)] already installed on your computer - a window will open prompting you to install. Check [I have read and accept the license terms] and push [Install].
While [Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)] is installing - have your USB cable plugged into your designated Heimdall USB Port.
Pull the battery from your phone. Then put it back in - also putting the back cover back on.
Hold down the [Volume Down/Up] buttons on the left side of your phone. While holding both [Volume Down/Up] buttons plug in the USB cable into your phone. You should see the first image below for Download Mode - however you might see the second image instead - also Download Mode - if you are recovering your phone from a bad flash:
You should now be in Download Mode.
After [Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)] is finished installing - Click [Finish].
You will again see the command prompt window. At the bottom of the window you should see [Installing drivers] and a pop up prompting you to put your phone into Download Mode -- which you should already be in Download Mode if following the guide .
Select [OK] and Zadig will open prompting you to install the necessary drivers to flash the One-Click.
In Zadig - Select [Options], then [List All Devices].
You will see [USB Receiver (Interface 0)]. Click your mouse where that appears and a drop-down menu will appear. Select [SAMSUNG USB Composite Device] and it will populate the box.
Now select [Reinstall Driver].
A window will appear - [Installing Driver...] - when completed you should be notified [The driver was installed successfully]. Select [Close].
Close the Zadig window, Heimdall One-Click 1.3.1 window will open and it will say [Connected] with a green highlight in the lower right corner.
Click [Flash] and Wait.
When Heimdall One-Click is finished working - your phone will reboot and run some code - then reboot again. You will see the T-Mobile splash screen and hear the T-Mobile jingle. Now wait again.
When finished - you will boot into your freshly flashed Stock Gingerbread ROM - allow your phone to sit for ten minutes to properly build caches..
[*]If you are upgrading from Froyo to Gingerbread - You will reboot into a Rainbow Like Screen because you still need to Flash Bootloaders. You are OK and this is normal. Proceed to ADDITIONAL STEPS ONLY FOR THOSE NEEDING TO FLASH BOOTLOADERS in the box below.
If you are flashing Bootloaders - Continue with directions in the box directly below.
----------------------------------------------------------------
* * START - ADDITIONAL STEPS ONLY FOR THOSE NEEDING TO FLASH BOOTLOADERS - START * *
Leave Heimdall One-Click running.
Unplug USB cable from phone. Pull the battery from your phone. Then put it back in - also putting the back cover back on.
Hold down the [Volume Down/Up] buttons on the left side of your phone. While holding both [Volume Down/Up] buttons plug in the USB cable into your phone. Your phone will be back in Download Mode.
Heimdall One-Click will once again say [connected]. This time you are able to put a check mark next to [Flash Bootloaders]. Check the box.
A window will appear warning you that [Flashing Bootloaders is Risky]. Select [Yes] and the window will close.
Now select [flash] one more time and wait.
When Heimdall One-Click is finished - your phone will reboot, you will see code run on your phone screen, then reboot again into the ROM - allow your phone to sit for ten minutes to properly build caches.

Baseband version: T959VUVKJ6
Build number: GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6
----------------------------------------------------------------
o Directions to ADD Java as Path Variable:
You first need to find the folder on your computer containing [java.exe]. For me - [java.exe] is in [C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin]. The location of this file is dependent on where you installed Java.
Once the [java.exe] is located - notate the EXACT path [i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin] where the file is located.
Open [System Properties] on your computer. How to open [System Properties] is dependent on your Operating System. However - you can access [System Properties] on most Windows machines by Right Clicking on [Computer] and selecting [Properties]. Please do a Google Search if you are unaware as to the method to access System Properties.
In [System Properties] - select the [Advanced] tab, then select [Environmental Variables...].
In [Environmental Variables...] - under [System variables] look for [Path] and double-click.
In the window that opens - move to the very end of the text in [Variable value:] and add the path of the folder containing [java.exe] separated by a semi-colon. For me - I added [;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\] - no spaces.
Select [Ok] to all the windows you have since opened to make this change.
You will need to close the previous [Command Prompt] window you opened when you received the error and open a new [Command Prompt] window.
Staying away from odin is probably a good idea. It's how I learned and if you know how to use it fast. Maybe not the best for noobs but I still prefer it.
Hopefully noobs actually read this one!
But man I used to love Odin. I never could understand how so many people could mess up Odin, seemed pretty foolproof to me.

I think they do not read enough (i.e. where to put what, what to check and not check) and aren't patient enough to let it finish (because it can sit for awhile and make you think it is frozen).
Sucks that your phone got stolen. Don't know if would have helped or not but Lookout is a great app. Virus scan as well as phone locator. Free on market.

how do i flash the kernel
---------- Post added at 09:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:39 PM ----------
do i just put the .zip on the sd and go to recovery wipe cache and davlik cache
What ROM are you running?
If u are on a GB ROM and rooted you can just download SGS Kernel Flasher from the market or you can flash the .zip in CWM.
If you read this guide you will learn how to do what you need to your phone without using ODIN or Heimdall.
Good luck.
Thanks for a simple and logical explanation of the process. I upgraded to GB 2.3.6 using Odin and it works great. Now I'm ready to take the next step, but I have one question.
When I upgraded to the stock ROM, all my programs, screens, contacts, settings, etc. were intact just as they were in Froyo. If I flash a custom Kernel and ROM, will I have to reinstall programs, set up email accounts again, etc.?
...........
It depends what ROM you flash but yes you will likely lose your apps and data - which is often a good idea anyways to prevent conflicts with the new ROM.
You can use something like Titanium Backup to back up ur apps and data if you want. Though read up on the best ways to do that. Most apps have within them backups. That is what I generally do. I have found fresh installs of the apps themselves are best. And restoring settings and data within the app itself works well.
If you need more help please don't hesitate to ask.
Edited. Sometimes in a long thread people may not be sure what you are responding to, hence the OP quote.
No problem. Let me know if you need any help.
I am stock gingerbread but rooted

Since you are on stock GB and rooted - find the section in the OP of this thread that says what to do with your phone on stock GB and rooted. It will talk about SGS Kernel Flasher.

Changelogs Rom 2
AOSP Android 4.2.2 (JB) ROM:
Changelog BETA v2.0 (February 08 2014)
Fixed alot of issues on the core system
Internal Storage is now readable/writable
Emulated Storage is now readable/writable
App Instalation is Fixed
Update BusyBox
Update SuperSU
Update GravityBox; Xposed Framework (Fully Working since this is AOSP)
And several other Fixs
NOT Working:
Cameras (front and rear)
Needs further work:
External Storage, will be available once you take your SDCard off, and insert again.BUT can cause random reboots.
BT, will give you FC when you turn on, but it works OK
You tell me
In addition to the ROM changelog:
External SDCard: as I said it can cause random reboots, also if you reboot the TAB it can cause bootloops,in this case just remove the SDCard and the TAB will boot just fine. Last case scenario, remove the SDCard and wipe dalvik
Benchmarks: Well its noticeable the increase in speed and less RAM usage on the AOSP Betas.
Some guys are asking me why the Antutu scores are so similar with the stock Asus/And my custom ROM?
Well you should check the ram usage/FPS between the ROMs And since the Aosp doesn't fully support the external SDCard, this will give about less 2k on Antutu scores (Storage IO / database IO)
So... If you really want to compare Antutu scores, remove your External SDCard from the stock Asus/ V1.1r2 Roms.

Recovery INFO
The salient features of Carliv Touch Recovery include:
Based on CWM 6.0.4.4
Full Touch Support
With features of Cannibal Open Touch
Aroma File Manager Support
Support for both Edify and Amend scripting allows flashing all ROMs
Touch screen button controls
Advanced Backup
Advanced Restore
Delete old backups
Persistent settings
User-defined backup locations
ADB Sideload
Update CTR v2.5 (30/07/2014)
Changelogs:
New Menu Layout
Tar + Gzip Backup Compression : ( "Backup/Restore" -> "Default Backup Format" )
Your Backups will be smaller now, just like on the old native CWM
Removed "wipe all" option from wipe menu ( if you need to wipe system, use "format system" from "mounts/storage")
Rearanged menu order in root menu to restore CWM order
There's now an "nvram backup/restore" menu in "carliv" section
The nvram partition will be backed up in clockworkmod/backup folder as nvram.img. This will help if you lose IMEI and other communication features. It will work only if you have the nvram partition of size 0x500000 (check your scatter) and if you have the nvram defined as /dev/nvram path in recovery.fstab. If the nvram partition is damaged (as in flashing an oversized recovery) this will not help you, and you need SPFlashTools to reflash with format your phone official firmware, and after that flash this recovery, boot in recovery and restore nvram.
some other small changes.

Hi
You guys are all crazy with the MTK leaked sources, but do you even have an clue what those sources are?
You cant just compile an source that's customize for other phone , thinking it will work on yours.
There's a lot of work to be done, and you need an huge amount of luck to have your phone drivers available in that source.
This said, I will appreciate that people avoid off-topic and other phones talk in this thread.
This ROM and recovery will only work on wiko darkmoon and Micromax a200 (clone).
If your using this ROM as a base for another MT6582 phone, please be an gentlemen and give proper credits.

Do you know by any chance if there is any option to add languages to this rom? Wiko doesn't include many languages. I can use locale2 from google play, but that only translates some of the functions.

Hi
Yes i know, when i made a MIUI rom for my old ZTE v970, i had an hard time trying to find the proper strings for your language.
Even on stock roms from big brands, its very rare to find support for that language.
Im trying to merge and revise some strings from various sources, maybe in an future version.

Great, that would be awsome.
As for rarity of my language, I find it quite well supported. Google Nexus has it, all Samsungs have it, so does HTC, Sony... I know Prestigio and Gsmart have it. CM also. It's not a big deal, but nevertheless - I wouldn't mind having it
Great ROM btw, very customizable.

Great ROM btw, very customizable.

Hi
Well good news and bad news
The good:
I managed to Build an UNOFFICIAL Lewa Rom for our device, currently fixing the lastest issues and adding multi-language support.
So since im currently working on this language strings, might as well use that work for this rom also.

The bad:
From what i gather until now, only about 100 slovenian strings are compatible (this is less than 5% of overall translation files), will keep looking

Special thanks and credits to:

MaximumROM for providing the ported Custom ROMs.
@AndroidXDA for the latest SP Flash Tool.
Getting Started
USE AT OWN RISK! I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR BRICKS THAT MIGHT OCCUR UPON FLASHING. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!.
Before doing any flashing with your Acer Liquid Z500 you'll need to Root your device and flash a custom recovery. This is mandatory for flashing Custom Roms and making Backups.
Rooting may void your warranty, though this is localized and may not apply for your area/country. Here, in The Netherlands, rooting your android phone has been approved legal by the government, thus keeping your warranty if you need to return your device to the manufacturer.
This does NOT apply for flashing Custom Recovery's, therefore you need to flash back to the stock recovery.
Rooting:
First we want to Root our phone. We need KingoRoot for that. You can find it in my attachment in the post above. I haven't used the Android version, so i´ll only guide you through the windows version of KingoRoot.
People without a PC can try the provided KingoRoot_Android.zip, but i cannot guarantee it will work as i haven't tested it myself.
01) Go to your device settings and select 'Device Info'. Scroll down and tap the 'Build Number' 5x until you've unlocked 'Developer Options' displayed in a toast.
02) Go to 'Settings/Developer Options' and check 'USB Debugging Enabled' you are now ready to receive additional usb drivers and adb has full access to change files.
03) Connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable and wait until it's finished installing drivers.
03) Download and install KingoRoot for windows .
04) Run KingoRoot, the program itself is pretty self explanatory. Just click 'ROOT' and wait until the program has finished flashing. It will reboot your device automaticly on success and superuser app called 'KingUser' will be installed with it. If you don't like it you can try SuperUser or SuperSU from the playstore. (Make sure you've granted them SU_Access with KingUser before you remove KingUser)
05) You are now ready to flash a Custom Recovery.
Custom Recovery:
Now we need a Custom Recovery. We can use SP FlashTool to do that or we can use MobileUncle MTK Tools. I'm going with the latter because it's more user friendly instead of going through SPFT & Scatter Files. I haven't tried 'Flashify' or 'Rashr Flash Tool' for flashing Recovery's on MTK devices.
01) Download CTR or CWM Custom Recovery's from the above post. Make sure they are located at the root of your SDCard. Move/Paste them from /Download folder if necessary.
02) Download MobileUncle from my attachment or download it from the Google PlayStore.
03) Grand SU_Access to MobileUncle and select 'Flash Firmware'.
04) Your downloaded Custom Recovery's will be shown (if moved propertly to root of SD) select it and click 'Flash'.
05) Reboot into your new Custom Recovery automaticly --when prompted to do so--, or do it manually by turning phone off/on with 'Vol+ (Up) & Power' and select 'Recovery' in acer menu (apply/select with Vol- (Down))
06) Now make a nand/stock backup of your current (Stock) ROM.
07) When leaving Custom Recovery for the 1st time, it might ask you 'Rebooting device might change Recovery to Stock, want to fix it?' reply with Yes.
Flashing Custom ROMs:
Flashing a custom rom is easy. And if you perform everything right, you won't have to worry that you'll brick your device. I've tested most of the ROMs by myself, i can assure you that it's a save deal, just follow the instructions carefully.
01) Download a Custom ROM of your preference (See Post #3) Click the HIDE button to see additional Info and Instructions (which are taken directly from their FB page).
02) Reboot into Recovery and make a backup of your current rom.
03) Do a full cache/data/system wipe and wipe dalvik.
04) Select 'Install zip from sdcard' and select your downloaded rom.
05) Wait until it's finished flashing.
06) Reboot your device and enjoy!
Unbrick / Flashing Stock Firmware:
I haven't had the pleasure yet to unbrick any MTK device (a good thing, right!?), so i'm a little scarse to give any info onto how to perform such tasks with SPFT as someone who has experienced it by hand.
Neither have i re-flashed to Stock Firmware, because on all the MTK devices i've used, any Custom ROM for those devices worked flawlessly.
Check out the Acer thread by @Shreps for detailed instructions on how to restore and unbrick your acer phone. This method works for various Acer models.

The following ROMs are all based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and some are heavily customized to look like Lollipop
The following Custom ROMs have been tested with the 'SINGLE SIM' variant of the Acer Liquid Z500. I don't think it'll work with the 'Dual Sim' versions of this handset.

Yeah it's too bad there are no dedicated forums for Acer specific models. Even less popular devices have their own section.
There is not much Info on the Liquid Z500 regarding Custom Roms so i added all the roms i could find (from one source only though ) since XDA, HTCMania, MoDaCo, NeedRom, or any other site, do not feature them (google searches lack information).
So i took what i could find and cramped them into one Thread
Hello mate, thank you for this thread it looks awesome! I wanted to ask you where did you get SDs_Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.003.00_EMEA_MTSs.zip firmware? My device came with it and when i was searching for it i couldn't find it! I was thinking maybe it's carrier branded firmware because MTS is the abbreviation of my carriers name... If i was mistaken do you by any chance know what does MTS part of it mean? Thanks in advance!

LOL... bug-less... Less bugs you mean? Bug-less in the world of automation and mobile devices does not exist...
You know what I meant. I'm not stupid and I understand that. I'm not asking for the perfect OS, I'm just asking if they are good for a daily use.

Have you followed my steps? because if you did you wouldn't need to mess with scatter files and the flashing is pretty easy compared to some other brands.
I have no discrete awnser, so if anybody else could shine some light on this issue, thanks!!

Dual or Single SIM device? What full SPFT roms did you try to install?
To recover a device you should follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56877584&postcount=2
And use these SPFT Firmwares (depending on single or dual SIM):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61359937&postcount=4
Z500 Firmware - Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1.zip (Dual SIM)
Z500 Firmware - Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1s.7z (Single SIM)

Is there a Way to download the ROMs except MEGA? It always fails. Everything can be downloaded properly, just the ROM-Download interrupts always.
EDIT: And I will not buy anything there or pay for something...

hi, I was wondering if Xposed Framework can be used in Acer Z500? I really want to modify the notification bar, but the Cutom Rom in the first page says that it's probably impossible for Dual SIM version, so I want to modify it with Xposed.

Introduction
MultiROM is one-of-a-kind multi-boot mod for Galaxy S3 4G. It can boot any Android ROM . Besides booting from device's internal memory, MultiROM could boot from external SD card(untested). The main part of MultiROM is a boot manager, which appears every time your device starts and lets you choose ROM to boot. ROMs are installed and managed via modified TWRP recovery. You can use standard ZIP files to install secondary Android ROMs and MultiROM even has its own installer system.
Features:
* Multiboot any number of Android ROMs (as many as your internal memory can hold)
* Restore nandroid backup as secondary ROM (damn useful feature)
* Boot from Internal memory and MicroSD Card
Warning!
This whole thing is basically one giant hack - none of these systems are made with multibooting in mind. It is no longer messing with data partition or boot sector, but it is possible that something goes wrong (even if never happened until now) and you will have to flash stock firmware with Odin. Make backups. I personally can't stress enough for you people to make nandroids becuase you never know.
Installation
Via MultiROM Manager app
This is the easiest way to install everything MultiROM needs. Install the app Install my modified app and select MultiROM and recovery on the Install/Update card the app is still in alpha, so don't select install, use manual install below. If the Status card says Kernel: doesn't have kexec-hardboot patch! in red letters, you have to install also patched kernel - either select one on the Install/Update card or get some 3rd-party kernel here on XDA. You are choosing kernel for your primary ROM, not any of your (future) secondary ROMs, so select the version accordingly.
Press "Install" on the Install/Update card to start the installation.
Manual installation
Firstly, there are videos on youtube. If you want, just search for "MultiROM installation" on youtube and watch those, big thanks to all who made them. There is also an awesome article on Linux Journal.
Note 1: Your device must not be encrypted (hint: if you don't know what it is, then it is not encrypted).
MultiROM has 3 parts you need to install:
MultiROM itself - download the ZIP file and flash it in recovery.
Modified recovery - download the ZIP file and flash it in recovery or Mobile Odin app to flash the recovery.img contained inside ZIP.
Patched kernel (Only TWO: AGNi PureCM or AGNi PureSTOCK) - Download the ZIP file and flash it in recovery (seems like kexec-hardboot isn't activated by psndna88, so menu won't show up on boot)
*Downloads in Post #2*
If your MAIN ROM is TouchWiz or TouchWiz based, please use AGNi PureSTOCK kexec-hardboot status unknown, someone with stock rom please install app and tell me if kexec-hardboot is enabled.
If your MAIN ROM is not TouchWiz, but CM or AOSP (basically custom rom except MIUI) use AGNi PureCM no kexec-hardboot, tested.
You current rom will not be erased by the installation.
Adding ROMs
Go to recovery, select Advanced -> MultiROM -> Add ROM. Select the ROM's zip file and confirm.
Using MicroSD Card (UNTESTED)
During installation, recovery lets you select install location. You just select the location (extX, NTFS and FAT32 partitions are supported) and proceed with the installation.
If you wanna use other than default FAT32 partition, just format it in PC. If you don't know how/don't know where to find out how, you probably should not try installing MultiROM.
If you are installing to NTFS or FAT32 partition, recovery asks you to set image size for all the partitions - this cannot be easilly changed afterward, so choose carefully. FAT32 is limited to maximum of 4095MB per image - it is limitation of the filesystem, I can do nothing about that.
Installation to MicroSD Card takes a bit more, because the external memory is (usually) slower and it needs to create the images. Also boot process is longer, highly depends on card's class. You can find ROMs installed on SD card in the "External" tab in boot menu.
Updating/changing ROMs
1. Primary ROM (Internal)
Flash ROM's ZIP file as usual, do factory reset if needed (it won't erase secondary ROMs)
Go to Advanced -> MultiROM in recovery and do Inject curr. boot sector.
2. Secondary Android ROMs
If you want to change the ROM, delete it and add new one. To update ROM, follow these steps:
Go to Advanced -> MultiROM -> List ROMs and select the ROM you want to update.
Select "Flash ZIP" and flash ROM's ZIP file.
Explanation of recovery menus
Main menu
Add ROM - Add ROM to boot manager
List ROMs - List installed ROMs and manage them
Inject curr. boot sector - Use this option if MultiROM does not show up on boot, for example after kernel installation.
Settings - Well, settings
Manage ROM
Rename, delete - I believe these are obvious
Flash ZIP (only Android ROMs) - Flash ZIP to the ROM, for example GApps
Add/replace boot.img - Replaces boot.img used by the ROM, this is more like developer option.

MultiROM itself: HERE (Check NOTE 2 below for testing zip)
Uninstaller: HERE
Recovery: HERE
Note 1: For recovery use 720x1280 multirom theme from here.
Note 2:
MultiROM Installer with MultiROMManager app and TWRP theme installation testing zip here. Basically what this zip does is, after MultiROM is installed, it copies to system/app my own version of MultiROM Manger to support i9305, then copies to the internal sdcard the theme for TWRP and sets the correct attributes.
What is that? I dont understand
a possibility to install more than just one operating system
Quick update for you guys:
Recovery works, but the theme is kinda weird, so use the theme provided for 'perfect' recovery
MultiROM menu won't show on boot, sent PM to Tassadar for help request. Meanwhile, i am trying to modify MultiROM Manager app to support i9305 to possibly have a workaround for the menu not showing up.
Stay tuned for more development and an OP update after everything is working. CYA
Another quick update for the ones interested in the project. I have succesfully compiled MultiROM Manger app that detects our device (after twenty attempts, then gave up and updated Android Studio to the latest version and redownloaded Android SDK and NDK. First attempt after reinstall worked). The APK fresh from the oven is here. This represents a milestone in MultiROM development because with the app now detecting the device one can avoid the boot menu not showing bug. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE
The bug i talked about is related to kernel, because the app doesn't detect kexec-hardboot.
Stay tuned for updated OP soon™.
Error in flashing. 'E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/external_sd/Roms/MultiRom/multirom-20150829-v32-UNOFFICIAL-i9305.zip'
Tried both with unmodified TWRP and MultiRom TWRP
Edit: MultiROM Manager_1.183-debug_183.apk also says "device not supported (trelte)". Tested with Eclipse rom

I don't want to keep this on, but check this post out http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-x-teamwin-t2956011/post57742832#post57742832 and see the codename for the SM-910F and check your reply from before

I guess the problem is with the rom specifically (some things left out while porting), as I got your your apk working with two other cm11 roms.
@Alexander_the_B0ss
Hi boss.
I like this dual-boot initiative but i have some problem with apk (device not supported (trelte)) but i think you can solve this.
I edit the updater-script and remove this line (assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "i9305" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "i9305");) (i test now in terminal command: getprop ro.product.device and show me i9305 ..i dont now why i can't install zip package. but i solve this with removed line.
So, i install recovery (multirom recovery) and i install zip. I install your modded apk and i have error.
On recovery, i try to install a new rom, and was installed (but on internal_memory/multirom directory i dont see any folder/file..but my space on rom was used by "new rom")
I try to inject my kernel (pureSTOCK 5.9.2). Nothing happen when i reboot my phone. I think need to show a menu with "What rom do you want to boot"..but nothing.
I can help you with tests to dev this project.
Keep up
EDIT: And, i dont now how can install a theme for TWRP..because text buttons not aligned

Heh, the updater-script bug is well-known to me, i'll try to fix it in the upcoming updates. The manager app issue happens is because you are running a Note 4 ROM from this forum and that rom changes the ro.product.device if not mistaken. If I can make this work, which i will do, i will have a talk with the ROM developers to not alter the ro.product.device for the app to work. To install a TWRP theme you have the instructions along with the download here. Just make sure to download for 720p.
