[APP] BF3 Battlelog (unofficial)

Hello world!
I just realized that I haven't told you guys (and girls) over here at XDA about this app that I've created. Better late then never, atleast that's what people say.
Before I continue, I might as-well add that this app isn't much fun for those of you that don't play or haven't ever played Battlefield 3. Sorry about that, but I can't do anything about that. If you do however play the game (or atleast have an Origins-account)... well, this is an app for you!
BF3 Battlelog is the unofficial app for the social network for the game, referred to as Battlelog. This is pretty much a crossover between Facebook and a regular game statistics-page, and it's actually a pretty good initiative from EA/DICEs side. However, they haven't created apps for the service, rendering it somewhat restricted via most of the Android-devices out there, but that's where this topic comes in.
BF3 Battlelog isn't just a stats retriever (unlike what many people seem to think), it's actually a "work-in-progress"-development towards getting the most out of Battlelog in our devices. It gets updated fairly regular (depends on what I'm trying to add) and the feedback so far has been pretty positive. Yes, it does actually need your account information (origins-email and password) to work, but before someone starts to shoot off their "he's gonna steal our passwords"-gun at me, I'd like to point out the following:
The app is open source, ie the source code is available on GitHub for anyone to check out and verify that nothing suspicious is going on.
If you (despite the fact that the source is available) still feel nervous regarding your account security, you can either check out the traffic that's being sent from your device (and see that it's going straight to the battlefield.com-server) or decompile (is that the correct term when speaking of .apk-files?) the app to check out the compiled source.
With that said, enough with the wall of text. Here's a list of what you can do in the app so far:
* View player profiles
* View player feeds
* Compare statistics
* View your online friends
* Chat with your friends (even sending offline messages)
* View your upcoming unlocks
There might be some other things too, but I think that sums it up quite good. Hope you people like it!

Why do we need to login to Origin?
The BF3 Stats don't require a login.to view the full stats.

Oh for the love of code, I knew this would happen on this forum too, but not at the first post.
This is *NOT* just a stats retriever. You can actually use the COM CENTER (except for the notifications that aren't there at the moment), you can interact with other soldiers (post in their feeds, hooah items, send friend requests) and in the upcoming update (ETA unknown) you'll be able to manage your platoons.
Can the other BF3-apps do that above, without needing you to login? Can you even do it in your web browser, without logging in?

Been using this app for a couple weeks now, works well and looking forward to the platoon stuff being added. Good job!

Been using this app for a while, and it's fantastic. It's come a long way from what it was in the beginning.

Up, up and away! I uploaded a hotfix (1.0.6) that fixes the post-B2K broken unlocks, but other than that no new functionality included.
Currently working on Platoons & Assignments for the bigger update. Also, I've setup a forum over at http://ninetwozero.com/forum, which can be used for bug reports and similar things.

BattleApp was actually a pretty good name, as EA/DICE couldn't copyright-claim it (at least from my point of view). I might change the name somewhere down the road, if I don't somehow get official clearance by DICE themselves.

Oh, thanks for putting it out here too - I tend to forgot where I aughta update from time to time.

New version up on Android Market, goes by the number 1.0.7. Changelog is as following:

Added assignments
Added forums

Added the "global" feed
Tabbed the unlocks
The app is now caching images to the SD-card
Added some initial localization (contact me if you can help translate!)

Sorry to hear it's been crashing for you PollPixx. We're pretty sure we've identified the problem and a fix will be rolling out in the next few days.
Hotzigetty: we made a conscious decision to keep version 1.0 very light on settings.
You can adjust all the basic Twitter stuff under Profile -> Edit Profile. Notifications are definitely in the pipeline, but not yet available in 1.0

Hi there!
A simple restart of the app should fix that problem. "Unable to load profile" usually means that Twitter's API is being a bit unstable.
If that doesn't help, try doing doing a "Clear data" from the application settings and re-authenticating with Twitter.

Can't seem to reproduce that on our dev devices. Which phone / firmware are you running?
A widget is another thing that's in the works, but we have a bunch of stuff (including notifications) we want to get done before that.

Ok..maybe the image is too big?

Thanks for this app. I think if it gets some updates that it would be a fine replacement for all the other twitter apps in the play store. Keep up the good effort!

Twitter does have an upper bound on profile image size, but the picture should be getting automatically resized when you pick it from the gallery. At what exact point in the flow does the app crash? Before or after choosing a picture from the gallery?

I'm one of the Tweagle devs and the Wifi turning on is actually not a bug. It's mentioned in the popup after the app has been installed Tweagle uses the Walkbase indoor positioning library (which requires WiFi) to find locations and tweets that are nearby.
One of the cool things we are doing with Tweagle is making it possible to follow locations that interest you, and that's where we need the Walkbase library.
I get that it's weird to have WiFi just turn on like that, but we thought the pros would outweigh the cons (i.e. better results). We are currently planning how to make an opt out option for this.

I think a nice feature would be to search for an app, to get review just for that app.
A chatroom or something along those lines could be useful - people seem to communicate via @ tags, making the 'home screen' cluttered with the same applications.

Hi! Everyone. I was using facebook and twitter on my phone and found that, both apps led to fill my storage and made a huge contribution towards lag on my phone which have some decent hardware. So, i wanted to make a change and try to improve my coding skills, this led to creation of SLIDECHAT.​
So what it does actually? Slidechat is a simple webview application that opens facebook, facebook chat, and twitter. on the go without downloading any of them from playstore. So what's the great deal about it? Its only 2.54mb in size.

Pretty nice and smooth app. I like the concept of having all 3 apps as slides in a single app. It would be nice if the FB Chat can take the login credentials from FB slide ... so I don't have to login twice.

Well after you login in Facebook, just refresh the page of FBCHAT. It will login in that tab too.

damn for how recent the development is and how little you claim to have done.... this works amazing!! very fluid swiping between tabs and choosing links and stuff, the only peeve i have for now is my page refreshing everytime i rotate the screen. other than that A+ work so far

Thanks mate! The auto rotation bug will be fixed in the next update. And for development it was going on from about 1 month(seriously i worked only a week to get this up, a month was for testing and building stuff).

Thanks for the suggestions. I think to delete FB messages, i need to integrate fb sdk, which will increase the app size but i will look into it, and there will a quick update to solve auto rotation bug. And yes pro version will have no ads.
And THANKS GUYS, on the first day we hit 100 downloads and 60 active users.

Just tried fb n fb chat. Twitter not checked.
Coming to the result I found 2 issues.
1) The page loading is slow. Its not my net speed issue I checked it.
2)In fb chat. When I click to open a conversation it shows like this (screenshot below)
My suggestion :
I don't use fb app, messenger and Twitter on my phn bcoz of more battery Consumption.
My suggestion is try to make it more battery friendly add some tweaks for less battery Consumption.

1. File manager
2. Huawei Health
3. Music 6.13.0.30.1 (the old premium doesnot work)
4. Compass
5. Video Player
6. Hi Study
Which doesnot work are:
1. Camera
2. Desk Clock
3. Calendar
4. Email
5. Exchange
6. Gallery
7. Notepad
8. Mirror

Downloading Link working good,

im looking for a app to lock the sreen, after MM was posible to add a sortcut to block the screen

I don't see the theme manager apk, can you upload it?
