Hisense K720 TV operating system - General Topics

Hi,
I am curios if you guys can help me, I got idea of changing system on this TV the same way as on phone if possible.
Is there someone who could or will be interested to start doing custom ROM for TVs.
Make it a payed app I am sure there will be enough interest for it as Hisense is struggling to update quick enough and we are quite big group of enthusiasts.
Thank you

[Q] WebOS porting how-to

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how to install WebOS on say a Samsung Galaxy S (Fascinate to be exact) or make a WebOS ROM so everyone could start picking up the pieces and start making WebOS a reality for all of us Android users.
WebOS may not be very well supported but there is potential but we need to put in an effort to get something back.
Let's do this!
Instead , I think we should port important features of WEB OS to Android.
So, that drawbacks are covered by WEB OS.
We appreciate your enthusiasm, but its much more involved than that.
One group (WebOS Ports) is working on porting to a few devices, including the Galaxy Nexus.
Another group, I think a company, is working on an .apk app to install and work, I assume on any capable Android phone, but right now it only supports the Nexus S, and I don't even know if its out yet...
So my plan is to wait and see.

Help to identify a tablet please?

Hi,
I have this tablet that belongs to my dad. I have noticed that apps aren't longer compatible with it so I would like to upgrade it for him to 4.4.2 ( latest so at time of posting).
This is a £50 amazon droid so is nothing special but for the life of me I can't find what it is so I can find a rom for it! If anyone can help out it would be appreciated..
Sorry photos are upside down!

Isn't that processor an Allwinner A20?
There are some threads on xda-developers forum about rooting them.
There are also some threads on google about 4.2.2 for when searching for "wing k70 eng", however I do not think anyone has made a KitKat ROM for this processor yet.
Thanks captain, that kind of ruins it then! Can't seem to install what's app on it and that's the only reason they wanted it! Oh well lesson learnt

[Q] Jetstream Android TV Box

I just purchased a "Jetstream 4K Ultra HD Android TV Box" from Walmart to replace my aging WD Play. Has anyone had any experience using or rooting these devices? I ask, because I've de-Googled my phone via root, and I'd like to keep this as Google-free as possible. Thanks!
I would also love to know if anyone knows how to root this. I have searched everywhere I can think of but have came up with no definitive solutions..
Can you use any 905x ROM? Are these any good at all? Stock is questionable for sure

I guess these are locked up?
I've loaded a codec for mx player pro that plays everything ive tried so far so is that as good as it gets.
Is this thread still around or do my messages fall on deaf ears? I guess as the manufacturers get better and google does their thing, rooting hasn't seemed as needed as it once was. My Galaxy s8 definitely doesn't need it as it does all the things I once needed root to do. My assumption these devices are there or they are close enough.

I give up

I've been trying to root my Kindle Fire without success for several days as well as my Galaxy 4 tablet, and it is just too much to deal with for a couple of tablets.
However, I've decided I do want a rooted tablet, something without all the bloatware and that isn't tracking every search I do or order I make to Amazon, or even an email I send to my doctor for all I know. So I 'm asking for help deciding what to buy, as you guys all know way more than I do about this stuff.
What is the best tablet to own if you want a rooted device? I'll be using it for gaming (Clash of Clans, nothing to graphic intensive) and the standard things like watching YouTube videos or maybe a movie on Netflix.
I kneel before the great android sages and ask for your guidance. What tablet would you buy if you wanted a quality device that was easy to root?
Thank you!

What are the specific model numbers of your kindle fire and galaxy tab 4?
What issues are you having in getting them rooted?

As for the Kindle Fire, nothing above Fire OS 5.1.2 can be rooted.
There are several threads about this in
