I am ready to root my hd plus, but I can't read any of the xda forums on my Sony tap 20. Boxes cover the words and move around when I try to scroll. This does not happen on the home page. As soon as I tap on forums, nothing lines up correctly so I can't read anything. I typed this post on my phone and it works fine but obviously it is too small to read for very long. I could not find anything online to help me fix the problem. It only happens on xda forums so I was hoping someone could help me. Thanks!

Hi
Ive searched this forum from top to bottom and just cant find a right solution.
AdFree is not working fr me what so ever
Ive got ads in Angry Birds Scrabble and quite a lot of other apps
Ive tried Absolute system root
Ive tried some host files (with user R/W Group R Others R) but that did not help either, unless im doing something wrong
Can anyone help ??
Simple guide or even a link to it would do.
Thanks
PS> Sorry if its in the wrong section
Anyone?

Hi,
I think that the best way to stop the adds is manually disable the network before starting the game.
Usually the add-free apps don't work very hell, you try can search for another in the market.
Yeah but disabling data connection is not the point here.
There are games that require internet connection to play and yet have adds..

From what I've been able to piece together from other threads (here or CM forums, I don't remember which) the source files that Adfree relies on have become much less useful lately. Some users seemed to have some luck manually putting-in an older version of the source files.
I am new on xda-dev. I find it very difficult to use this website.
First there were a lot of issues related to registering and login and now after i can login there are so many other prob.
The text jumps and flickers like a monkey for ages, and the page continues to load.
It was even difficult to search for things on the forum or even start a new thread.
Every time i had to keep pressing the browser stop button to stop loading the page.
The image does not loads for image verification and so i can not post any message.
Just for your info i use No script in my browser but even if i allow scripts on this page still i face a lot of trouble.
First you do not let people register, then you do not let them login and then you do not let them search for solutions or start a new thread.
Dont we have a simple version of this site where i could focus just on exactly what i am here for.
I do not need so much of spoon feeding in the name of interactivity and user friendliness.
Please advise.

I can not even use it from my computer.
In some browsers it can not be opened at all.
Too irritating.
Takes ages to post one comment.
Switching over the forum style to classic solved a lot of problem.
But the Captcha image still takes ages to load.
I have to close and reopen the browser many times.
Search still creates a lot of problem.
.
The problem is not why there is Captcha but why is it not opening easily.
Anyway for your info. after a new member posts 10 replies he does not gets captcha
I just wanted suggestion regarding what should be done to be able to easy communicate on this forum. Thanx all of you.
Every time i try to start a new thread, i have to write the title. The system is supposed to search for similar threads. BUT as soon as i do so the entire page refreshes and then there is nothing there on the screen. I have to keep doing that again and again. What a foolish way of making a website. I do not need so much of spoon feeding. Dont we have a simpler interface ?
What you describe never happened to me, even when I was new.
I think you need to focus on troubleshooting your computer/browser instead of complaining about the xda website.

What browsers are you using because I use it with Firefox and Opera without problem on my computer and have even browsed with my phones default browser without issue and am now using the xda app an I have less then 10 posts do you have cookies allowed or JavaScript enabled on your web browsers? That may or may not help

I experienced similar problems using the website itself. The app seems to work a little better.

I have tried, Firefox, Midori and Konquror on two different OS, Ubuntu and Mint but every where I faced some problem or the other. As i mentioned earlier, after i changed the website interface to 'classic' the problem reduced but did not end. Now mainly have problem with Capcha not loading at times or with the auto search of the title of a new thread. I feel the site is made more pro-mobile than for computer use. If some one has not faced these problems at any time does not means that there is somthing wrong with my system. The first time when I registered on this forum the entire page was simply flickering every moment, it would have been worth making a video of that I have been using dozens of forums but never had any trouble of this kind. I feel the system could have been made simpler.
With all the people who blatantly ignore the rules and requests, I don't think a ten post limit with CAPTCHA is all that unreasonable.
I like Linux a lot, but I don't think it's out of line to suggest the trouble lies in browser or OS support especially since Linux tends to be more persnickety than Windows due to market share and development, no matter where you want to place the blame for that.
If someone is having these problems outside of Linux, details would help narrow it down.
At any rate, it's not the forum's requests that are at fault, but the integration with something or lack of support.

Seems you did not even understand the question. The question is not WHY there is captcha but why it is creating trouble loading. And if it is bcoz of linux then it is strange as captcha is used in many other websites and no where i face any problem. Moreover there are others too who have faced other problems here. And i am not just facing captcha prob there are a host of other prob that makes using the website very difficult. Also how is it that there is problem some times and not there on other ocations ? If it was due to linux it would have been there always ! I would also like to remind you that Android is also built on Linux kernel. And any website that is highly OS specific is not a well planned website. Anyway it was just a feedback to help the site owners improve it "IF" they wish to. If they dont i can always find my way out
Thanx all of you for your help.

I had the same problem too.
Anyone knows how to fix it?
Maybe your network connection become unstable?
I have this problem when my Internet connection is being overtaxed - too slow so it times out trying to load the whole page. I it can also be do to browser plug-ins blocking elements (as per another thread).

well, I use mozilla and this happens not just with xda but others too
I recommend just refreshing the page 2-3 times. You can delete browser cache (not history) and cookies.
Hope this helps
Looks to me like the sites CSS file isnt being downloaded, so yes its likely down to a over stretched or slow internet connection.
Normally refreshing a couple of times should fix it

Tried many times to refresh but still no avail. Can't even find the fix on the internet.
In the Quick Style Chooser (at the bottom of every page), you can change "-- XDA 2013 Beta" to something else.

It may help to search online about why your browser is functioning slowly. Also try reinstalling your browser. It may work. Have you tried deleting browser cache and cookies? Try searching how to delete them, do it and see if it works as I think that should solve your problem.
Remember a search engine is your friend. You can solve anything through it.
I have this problem only in XDA forum.,and my internet connection is fine.
I also try to reload the page and clean cache many times, but still can't fix it.
I use the internet with my mobile, and it's woke! but when i change back to the cable net and the problem back , too.
Finally as post-mortem says just use the Quick Style Chooser , and the normal page is back.
Where can i find that?

Open in ie9 or ie10 with compitable view(or something... i can't remember but it is exactly in the address bar near reload/stop button)
Would greatly appreciate if there was a report button on xda app, then I don't have to switch between pc and phone(I don't use phone browser much). If I have posted it in wrong section or if someone else has.
Also, just a wish, it would be great if we could delete posts, which nobody has replied (then you don't have to worry about losing info).

You can request the XDA app feature in this Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841646
Also, deletion of posts is not possible/doesn't implement to normal members because its the privilege of a Moderator.
Re: Report button for xda app
I read it elsewhere that they didn't allow to delete, because they are scared of losing info (something along those lines ). But if we were able to delete un replied posts, if we solve it or find a link, then it wouldn't be a problem would it
Ps:thanks for the link

There is actually a [Solved] tag working in Questions and Answers section if the purpose of Thread becomes solved. Don't know how it works, but have seen in that forum. And I don't think deletion of empty threads would be possible at all for the Thread Starter, and the nearest bet would be to report it to the Moderator for deletion. App called Forum Runner does have the report function, if you used to browse XDA majority of the time from the app.
EDIT: And deleting Thread just because you've found the solution is not a good idea, because if you've posted the link inside it maybe it would save somebody else or would be helpful who're on the same situation.
Not really hoping for answers since there's not many info in google, but well, here it is. this message was number 27500 on an "ask any question" thread and seemed like everyone just skipped it due to the detailed info I wrote and decide to answer the short ones
Just getting a new android 5.0.2 running cyanogenOS. The only thread here in xda can be found when typing "andromax cyanogen" in search box.
Now, the problems.
- bbm will show "bbm has stopped responding" with an OK button when I click on "picture" option to change display picture. However, clicking on "sample picture" and camera icon will do its job fine and the display picture will change accordingly.
- xda app will show "xdamobile has stopped responding" with an OK button when I click on the camera icon below.
- fb lite app will show "app has stopped responding" with an OK and report button when I try to attach a picture when replying to a post. But, when I created a post, I am able to include a picture on the post.
- upon reboot, phone will get stuck on cyanogen logo, randomly
- also randomly, phone refuse to wake up no matter what after being left untouched for at least 1 hour. Have to physically remove the battery and replug to be able to turn on phone.
What I did:
- upon the 3rd day of getting phone, I decide that I want to get titanium backup of apps so I can save my internet quota. So I root using Kingroot 4.5 and install TB to found out that physical sdcard is now useless and that's why the phone has generous space (1.88gb system, 4.77gb internal/legacy/emulated).
- I then searched xda and found out to add an extra line in /system/etc/permissions/profile.xml to make physical sdcard usable again. Then I found out about those apps errors. I thought, it must be the extra line that makes the os messed up.
- so I did a factory reset via settings. Didn't seem to actually clean everything up because when I click on playstore it recognizes my email add right away. Then I reboot into recovery, did a wipe media, wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset and then turned phone off, removes battery and physical sdcard.
- upon reboot it said "android os is upgrading" and it counted from 1-116. Now I thought it truly is clean, as it asked me my gmail address for Google playstore. I DIDN'T ROOT THIS TIME. The first thing I install is bbm, then I reboot before setting up bbm. Guess what. Upon setting bbm (waiting for that circle to stop spinning), when it came to, my bbm pin stays the same and the problem of unable to change display picture using the "picture" option still stick.
- then I searched around to find a way to reflash the phone and after I did, well, everything brand new and clean. But the same problems with those apps PLUS the later that I mentioned.
Does anyone has a clue of what's going on? Or what to search for, to be blamed as the culprit(s)? The info on this phone is very limited almost none available.
I have tried to make a trouble ticket from bbm app but using chrome and uc browser, the form would just keep reloading without being sent. Dunno what's wrong. Will try tomorrow using a computer, although I doubt that they will provide a satisfactory answer (like when I still actually uses a bb device, they insisted that my os5 device would have to run bbm8 in order for them to run a diagnostic and help me, which actually destroys my bb, that's why I moved on to another android beside this oppo)
Thank you for the time to read. I hope that someone would shed some light for the badly confused me :banghead:

Antutu Benchmark already gives almost the same info. I have a screenshot that I cannot post due to the problem.
Existed from day 1? Yes for bbm. Not sure about this xda mobile app as I was focused on "curing" bbm.
Well since you insisted, I took pictures of antutu info from the problem device. Let me edit some info and post the pics asap
