Best firmware for H60-L04? - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So what would be the best Lollipop (EMUI 3.1) firmware version for the H60-L04? I am currently using B507, but I know there are newer versions up to B560. Although the most used I've seen is B521, some use B560. So which version would be the best?
Also, where are the downloads? Does Huawei even offer them, I cannot find any on their own websites.

Theres already official MM beta release for L04. I have been using it for a month now and its quite smooth. I have not seen any issues so far. The only thing that bugs me is to wake phone everytime by power key. There is no custom kernel with double tap to wake yet. I also tried getting vol keys use to wake but it doesnt work. Any app I use for that functionality is killed by OS after few mins of sleep. U can go for MM instead of LP. Search in xda forums you will find the update zip.

I'm aware of the MM beta, but as long as it's beta I'll be sticking to lollipop. After all, it is beta for a reason. I've found some downloads and managed to update my phone to Indian B560. Some bugs are gone, some things are changed and I'm currently happy with what I have. Wil be waiting for an official Marshmallow update now

[Q] Will new Lollipop update show if I do not update current one?

I have got a new Nexus 5. Originally, it came with KitKat 4.4.2, and KitKat 4.4.4 was available immediately, to which I updated.
Just a few days ago, I got the notification for Lollipop 5.0.1 update. Reading about several Lollipop issues on Nexus 5, I do not want to update to Lollipop yet, and I intend to continue using KitKat 4.4.4.
I also read on the internet that the major update of Lollipop, 5.1, will be released in February. So, I want to wait for that.
My question is this.
If I do not update to Lollipop 5.0.1 update, and when a new version of Lollipop is available, for example, 5.0.3, or 5.1, or any other newer update, will I get the notification for that, even if I have not installed the current update?

I don't know for sure if you'll get the update notification or not but it won't install if you do. The updates have become sequential and you'll need to have the one before or the new update won't install.

So in other words, double update at that time if you're willing to wait
Thanks for the replies .
Yea, I had guessed that it might be required to install the previous updates before updating to the current one. That's no problem, and I can perform the double updates. I am willing to wait for a Lollipop version which won't have any major issues.
The issue will be of notification... whether there will be notification for the new update or not. It will be good to get it, but I have doubts about it.
Do you guys know if Lollipop 5.0.1 is having any major issues on Nexus 5? I keep reading conflicting reports about it. An article on a site says that the author is not having any major issues... but my cousin who updated to it sometime ago, is having many issues.. app crashing, and all.
That's why I think I will wait. It's a brand new Nexus 5, and I haven't started using it. Had been waiting for the Lollipop update, but by the time it arrived, I read about several issues, and was glad that I did not update.
I had also read that Lollipop 5.0.1 had been released but pulled back for Nexus 5, and I wasn't expecting it on my phone, but I was surprised to receive it.
Willing to wait for another Lollipop update, but that constant notification about system update is going to be quite a pain .

Thanks. That's good to know. And now you have me in a fix again... thinking whether to update or not . Will think about it.

[Q] How to get Lollipop on Honor 6 (L04)?

There are now tons of threads detailing a myriad of methods of getting L on Honor 6. As far as I can tell
You cannot get CM12
You can somehow get 5.1 + EMUI3.1
So can anyone post the correct links to where I can get L? I am currently running CM11, and I have a custom recovery, so flashing is ok for me.
I already replied to you in another thread. Check it.

Download B309 package.
Flash over B374.
Go further down to B109SP01 from B309.
Update to B115.
Update to B500 with this update. zip.
You'll get B500 version if you are in India and not B507. I don't know the reason but that's what happened to me and few other people. I'm back to B374 as this ROM is buggy for daily usage. India will also be releasing lollipop update soon so I suggest it's better to stay away from this. While on the other hand Malaysia has also started updating to Lollipop, that update is over B380, update file is not uploaded by anyone yet.

Hi, thanks for replying.
If huawei is indeed releasing updates, I can wait. But can you tell me if the update will rewrite my recovery? I will certainly give this a shot if I can do a restore of my current ROM from recovery.

It's difficult to come back to EMUI 3.0 I have tried that so I'm telling you. You should wait for 2-3 days as Lollipop is coming soon. And yes there is a different recovery in Lollipop.
There is no cwm available for it. So coming back is not as easy as jumping from 3.0 to 2.3

When are the first Android L Stock Roms coming?

So last week I finally ordered the mate 7 and right after I did it they announced the official Lollipop update (yay).
But after seeing so many unhappy users here I decided to wait for either official updates (which won't happen that fast I guess),
or I'll wait for custom Android L roms stock roms, since the fingerprint sensor only works there.
Does anyone know whether there is already someone on it, because I haven't seen a single rom announcement here on xda..
I did some research and found kangvips chinese 5.1. 1 rom on the huawei forums, and I've already seen a international kangvip rom here.
Does that mean that someone's translating/porting it for us soon or how does it work?

Got a XT1032 with KitKat, Update?

Hi there,
I got a 2-year-old german retail Moto G XT1032 with Stock 4.4.4 Kitkat as a daily driver. I've rooted it approx. a year a ago, installed the Xposed-Framework with xprivacy and Gravitybox. But the phone seems to get quite slow with standard applications like WhatsApp or the music player. So i deleted the app-caches of the Google Expericence Launcher and some other applications. Now it's not so laggy anymore, but i think with
a new version of Android it could be a bit faster.
I'd like to flash it with a new firmware. Now i dont't know, which one to choose. I've read that, when i want to upgrade to 5.1 or 6.0, i have to update the bootloader. And with this new bootloader i can't switch back
to KitKat, is that right? Now the question is, should i update to Lollipop or Marshmallow. When Lollipop came out, i've heard that it was quite a buggy mess. There were a couple of bugs, which made it unusable as a daily driver. Can you recommend Lollipop as a daily driver over KitKat? As I see, there are only beta (nightly) versions of Marshmallow out for the XT1032. Are they stable enough for using it as a daily driver?
Thanks
Patrick

1. yes, with a new bootloader you cannot go back to Kitkat. Also keep in mind that you need a recent recovery (TWRP 2.8.7)
2. i can only compare custom roms of KK or LP and i dont see a significant advantage of LP, also KK seemed to have the better memory management
3. another suggesting to your problem: if you dont care about having something "new" you might try a custom KK rom where my recommendation would be SlimKat (overall best and most stable rom i have ever used). That may solve your problems, but if you dont like it you can always go back to stock KK or upgrade
I never used my phone much on KitKat but things u will sacrifice on lp or marshmallow is multitasking (ram management) and battery timing but performance on newer os especially on marshmallow is too good I'm using cm13 nightly 03-01-2016 its so stable that know I don't even bother to upgrade to newer nightly its thousand times better than lp I suggest try KitKat ROM still unsatisfied then u only have choice to watch a video of phone running mm then deciding upgrade BTW just use greenify this phone often gets drunk without it

Replacement for Xiaomi Stock MIUI that can still OTA/less maintenance for non-techie

So I've gotten an Mi 5s Plus for my wife but she wants a more up to date version of Android than what Xiaomi is releasing (current is MIUI 8.5/Android 6.0.1) as they take forever to update.
Obviously I don't want to be tech support moving forward, and I'd like her to be on the latest version of Android. I just really want this to be a set and forget sort of thing, so assuming it would need to be a base ROM of some sort from a major releaser, hopefully there is something released with everything working.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what ROM i could use on her phone so that she doesn't have to worry about updates as she will just receive them OTA?
As with myself she also will require the phone to be NON-ROOTED for her work, along with banking apps (which I'm assuming you can always remove root/lock the phone after installing the ROM).
I don't mind if its a version of MIUI or not but I'd like it so that all the features of the phone still work which I'm assuming would be MIUI.
Thanks for any help.
I think Xiaomi.eu weekly ROMs have OTA, but I'm not sure.
If not than maybe Lineage OS.
Ressurection Remix definitely has OTA.
https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/
Have you tried the global developer ROM? It is quite stable from my testing and is updated nearly every week. It is Android 7.0.
Are these OTA updates?
Is the global developer rom certified so that Android Pay works?
Also I'm assuming the updates to this are OTA, if I miss a couple weeks can you just update to the most recent one?
Ressurection would be interesting, thanks. Does it support Android Pay?
@umirza85 Not sure. I'd try but I've rooted it.
