My Captivate suffered from the intermittent power down issue that so many of you are experiencing...
It's shipping back to me today. The automated email from Samsung states the following:
Original Problem:
TECHNICAL INQUIRY - POWER - INTERMITTENT POWER DOWN
Problem found:
SIM ELECTRICAL FAILURE
Solution:
PASSED ALL FUNCTIONAL TESTING
Think they fixed it?
Lol its samsung ... so who knows what they did to it
Hmmmmm They may have just ran their own diagnostic on it and found it wasn't their issue since it says SIM card issue. You may have to take it to AT&T and get a new SIM if your is shorting out. But again who knows.
no they are just going to send you a real brick!
they found a problem with the SIM
the SIM is on the main board inside
so.... they will have replaced your mainboard.
so... they will have fixed it....
kinda like why you sent it to them...
no ... they wont fix it...
My friends lg g2 suffers greatly from ghost touches and swipes however it didnt do this before the lollipop update. Also the charging stopped working after the update i have since then replaced both the battery and the cable in the phone yet very little progress it charges SOMETIMES however the main problem is the touchscreen rendering the device almost useless. Im wondering if its possibly a software issue because if it is his phone is rooted but no custom os and i could try and see if installing cyanogen possibly solves the problem.
So my lg flex 2 camera app won't open this happens when i switch to the back camera and that app will not open at all but when its with the front camera it opens and works normally What should i do?
clear data
it happens like that? for no reason?
maybe you should try to delete cache and clear data
Yh it happens for no reason i don't know if it's a camera issues or is it the software

I had the same problem.
Took it to LG service and they changed the motherboard in order to fix this.
So it's probably a hardware problem. I suggest you take it to LG service while it's still under warranty.

i have the same problem . tried wiping the phone , tried changing the camera hardware , the camera app , aida64 cant detect it . any fix yet ?
Delete other apps that use thr camera. I deleted snapchat and then the camera worked fine
This issue hit me yesterday. So far, I've tried restarting the phone, deleting the data and cache for all apps that used the camera, and even made a factory reset last night. But the main camera still refused to open. I've had to conclude that this might be a hardware issue. it could just simply the ribbon cable has lost contact, or could be a deeper issue. I'll try to take the phone apart and look inside tonight. If it is not the loose contact issue, I'd order an OEM camera module and replace it myself. (I found a few on eBay and AliExpress with very cheap price).
Yap. I opened the inner back-cover, yank a few ribbon cables and see if it works. Nope, it won't work. I'll order a new camera module and replace it.
If you have tried different modules then its a big possibility of motherboard fault.
I am running into the same problem, the rear camera seems to be the issue. I have tried reconnecting the cable, and it works intermittently with some apps but not others. I am going to order a new camera this weekend but I am moving continents in two weeks so I am trying to find a fast shipping option here, or just go with a camera from china to get to where I am moving.
On that note, I noticed that the camera appears to have the same part number as the LG G3 (Y472B) though I can find nowhere that confirmed that they are identical parts. While the part number is the same, there is a 4 digit number below it, and I'm not sure if that is a batch number or perhaps a dash number. I haven't found any of those numbers that are the same both for the g3 and flex2, but then, the 4 digit number on the ribbon of my phone is different than the numbers I see on replacement parts.
Can anybody confirm or shed some light on whether the rear cameras of the flex2 and G3 are identical (can be used interchangeably)? If so that would give me a lot more options for ordering!
An update to my post. I ordered an lg g3 rear camera and put it in my flex 2. It appears they are identical as my rear camera now works.
I am having troubles with autofocus but manual works. That seems to be a software not a hardware issue though. But for $15 my flex 2 is now back to normal.
To update, after about a day the rear camera stopped working but would work occasionally.
After a few more weeks the phone started looping restarts up to the lock screen then died all together (it would still charge and display it was charging) I reflowed the main board which appears to have solved all problems but I hesitate to advocate it as it is fairly risky and by many accounts only solved issues temporarily
LG Camera Rear work occasionally or camera fail
When the Camera work occasionally, motherboard is the problem. I changed the camera module and the same situation, (LG G FLlex 2 original module), not work, reset, reinstall android with LG Up, all, but not work. As she does, some components it has a (cold soldering). The only option is to warm the 250-300 degree with hot air in that area or other motherboard. All LG's have the same problem, replace the assembly line LG!
Hi there.
i've bought lg h959 which appeared to have broken speaker.
Changed the speaker but with no results.
I've also changed flex cable - no good either.
Could this be SW related problem? Or HW?
I am having the exact same issue. My phone has been in the shop for weeks. The speaker has been replaced several times only to go out again in a few hours. The tech cannot find any issues with the hardware so I'm gonna guess it's one of 2 things... Either there's an issue on the motherboard, or it's the "smart" battery. You'd be surprised at how Manny issues are caused by a faulty battery.
Hi. I have a g935fd with a dead board. I bought an g935o with a broken lcd and took the board, stuck it into the 935fd and all went well except Im not getting a signal.
From what I have read, the 935o board is incompatible with the charging IC and antenna of the g935fd, hence the no signal issue.
Is there no way around this and is this really just a hardware incompatibility issue?
I took out the charging IC from the 935o easily since the screen was already broken. The problem is i cant easily swap it out since I risk ruining the good LCD.
Any chance to trick the parts into working together?
