Disable screen from coming on when I get a text? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Is there a way to dismiss the screen from coming on when I get a notification? I just want the led light to come on.

Use Textra. It's way better than the stock app.

It's not just the texting app though. Snapchat for example does it do. So does hangouts.

Notification LED?

I'm assuming the nexus 5 has one, but I haven't seen what it looks like or where it's located while watching some YouTube hands on videos...
Does anyone know or have a have a pic of what it looks like/where it's located?

No but I don't for my nexus 4 either
Dunno what I've done but I'm getting a blue pulsing led for texts so that's a start

Notifications are on even though they've been turned off

Ok, so I'm on stock nexus 5.
I have turned off notifications in my apps, but I still keep getting them. It's annoying me. Anybody know why? For instance, living social and fandango keep having notifications pop up and I can't figure out why.

Are you disabling the notifications in each specific app itself?
What I do, is go to Settings > Apps > Click on the app in Question, un-check the Show Notifications box and I am usually good to go.
Wow, thanks. I didn't know you had to do it that way. I was just disabling in the app itself.

Hey, right on! Glad you got it working good!
You can also long-click the notification itself and disable notifications from the offending app right there. Saves some trouble.

Does the pulse light work now?

Or is it a bug with the latest update

Mine works. Whenever I get a message, email, facebook notification, etc...
Did you enable it? Settings > Display > Pulse Notification Light
The only thing I miss from my S3 is that the Nexus 5 will not light up when plugged into the charger. Red for charging, green for done.
Use Ledblinker app and you can add those functions in as well as choose colours for any app notification

[Req] Battery LED

Hello. I need an app to monitor my battery status. I found some apps but old ( not working ). I need an app that will make the LED blink green at 100-50℅, 50-20℅ yellow and 20-0℅ red.
If someone has something like this or if someone can build one I'll be happy.

With lite flow you can change the threshold for when it thinks it has low or full battery.
Why not set a threshold from 95%-40% as green, 40%-20% orange?
Then it will pulse red when it's below 20.

thats called "heads up notification", i think its default on lollipop...i dont know if it can be disabled...
It totally can be disabled with Lollipop on the Galaxy S5 and is very easily done using the
This is another one of my complaints regarding the S6. I cant seem to turn this setting off!
What you want was easily done with Lollipop on the S5 but again, it seem that this functionality has been removed or is simply not working yet.
Esentially, there is no way to block txt messages from being shown on the unlock screen which is unbelievable.
Aww man.. that's just silly! Yeah its the heads up notification and its irritating the hell outta me..
