I currently use Hide It Pro to hide some of my apps, pics, videos...etc. Does anybody know of any other similar apps that don't require root like Hide It Pro does?
Thank you, this Samsung bootloader issue sucks!!!

Hideohoto 4.3 stars real nice uses pin code move videos and pics to its own vault and you can enable finger scan unlock if you use the finger print app lock app as well.
Do not delete the app with any photos left in it there's no way to get them back if you wanna delete the app move them back to stock gallery

Works great.
Media vault. There's also an add on called vault launcher that lets you dial a pass through your phones dialer to open the hidden app. Love it.
Hey guys, I just got the phone yesterday. You don't need any extra apps to hide apps, if you go into the app drawer and click edit, clicking the - button will hide it for you. It doesn't work with all apps but majority can be hidden. Even some S apps like S health and S gear can be hidden. Hope this helps

That's not "hiding" apps - its disabling them. If you're going to disable apps, better to use Package Disabler Pro.

To disable apps: Go into your app drawer, hit the settings button in the upper right, hit manage apps. Tap the app you want to disable and it will give you the option
Go to the "all" section on the right.
These are the apps that I consider to be bloat and can be safely disabled.
EDIT: These can be force uninstalled with Titanium Backup with root access

do they still show up in the app drawer? Or do they simply not open if selected? I haven't ever disabled apps before as I've been on custom roms for about 18 months now.
Looking forward to the new phone on tuesday, and I'm planning on running it stock for at least a while, so this is good info

They won't show up in the app drawer and they won't run in the background. You don't know they're there unless you go back into manage apps
awesome, thanks

The uninstall updates button is where the disable button usually is. Click that, and then the disable button will appear.
Which ones are coming back? None from that list come back for me.

I see the disable button but it is greyed out for ready2go. It gives no option for disable.
The ones that came back were the google related.. like books, music, g+... and live TV..
Also I can sometimes see Flickr running even though it shows as disabled.
Oh sorry, yeah. Ready2Go can't be disabled without root.
And I left books / music / g+ installed. Can't test that
Live TV is gone for me - disabled it
I found another app that had Flickr in it... disabled that one.

I was wondering is there any Call recorder..That would not leave any icon and could record all calls (made/received) ?
without letting the user know

It's pretty simple to take a working thing you want and make it like this. A project would be the app in its entirety...something like this is just a tweak.
Look into other apps that hide icons and such for examples.

Does Samsung Galaxy Note (gingerbread) default launcher have this option?
hiding works great. but it will still show up in play store or worse case as an update notification.
Well you can avoid that by unattaching it from the market. I know apps like Titanium can do this.
Some roms have this functionality built into them.

no, has to be rooted
For those who are rooted and have unlocked the bootloader, I know when I was running SynergyRom R73 nightly, there was a button in the upper right when I was in a call that allowed me to record. I believe the button was labelled "Record" and then it would get saved to the Samsung stock ROM voice recording app for the audio recordings. I'm on Liquidsmooth right now and am missing that feature dearly. Made me feel like a superspy or something

I would recommend MobileRecorder24 (see MobileRecorder24.com). It does exactly what you want - records all calls, sms and audio surrondings in stealth regime and stores them online. Also it can hide its icon.
Hi,
I made an app to check notifications in the quick circle: "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsoltmester.qcn".
It is makes your case more useful. Feel free to send me a feedback!
Regards,
ZS
Thanks
It's more comfortable than notifications on "Quick Circle Apps"
I like it and I can wait for new features (swipe for delete, double tap...)
Good work !
It says it's incompatible with your device, I have D852 with cloudy
Says incompatible for me as well. Stock rooted 851.
Stock LG G3 D852 shows incompatible.
Thx

I cannot access your app in my play store.
Please share the apk file !
Currently support only 5.0. Maybe that is the problem?
I working on the kit kat version, i will post when it is done.
Or play store said incompatibility with 5.0?
Looks very nice!
You can use it for swipe to dismiss: https://github.com/krossovochkin/Android-SwipeToDismiss-RecyclerView
Thx! Looks useful.
Bump. Will there ever be support for kit kat? I'm really trying to get as much Quick Circle apps on my phone as possible, and this will be a great addition to it.
How can it be uninstalled?
I installed but it doesn't allow me to uninstall it.
Frankly the fact really bothers me that I cannot control this app myself.
Please let me know how to uninstall it or I have to do factory reset.

Go to Settings / Security / Phone administrators and deactive the app. Then you can uninstall it.
The permission is required for the double tap feature.

Thank you.
Thank you for this app. At the moment, I need to doubletap and swipe the clock away to open the notifications. Is it possible to wake the device and show the notification instantly in the circle, if one is received ?
need apk please... can't test because its say ... not compatible -_-
Is this a no longer being supported? I'm currently using LG g4 and it works great just wish we had swipe to delete and tap to open the notification's app.
Basically, I have both the pre-installed Files app and the Files by Google app on my phone. It's not the end of the world but it is annoying to see them side by side on the app screen when I swipe up. Is there a way, without disabling apps or using a different launcher, to hide apps form the app screen? So it only shows when I go to settings and click on apps from there.
Thank you for any help in advance!

No, it looks like it is part of Google's security policy to keep malware apps from hiding themselves. Even the "full version" type apps that can then be hidden don't go away even on reboot. The devs of such apps have confirmed. Custom launcher it is.

There is no way right now even if rooted. The issue is that it is part of Pixel launcher and of course it is locked down to that kind of a change. My suggestion is Lawnchair beta which is now available on the Play Store. You can make it as identical to stock as you want yet can also put in some improvements. The only hard change I have come across in Lawnchair is that the swipe up to gen into the drawer doesn't require that idiotic LONG swipe through recent items but starts like it should in the center of the home screen. It is worth changing just for that and the ability to hide apps, and it is free. Of course, Pixel launcher is still on the device and can be accessed by changing your default launcher back in settings.
In the app settings for Vivid Navigation Gestures, it has the option to hide the navigation bar. It says I can do it through ADB without root. Does anyone know how to do this or can give me steps to do this without root? Thanks!
so i entered the command (ive tried this with Fluid navigations also) that it gives to hide the navigation bar and it does not hide the buttons or the navigation bar... Is there a way to hide them and still use a 3rd party launcher with either Fluid or Vivid navigation apps? Thanks

Does not work on miui there is only one way I found without root that would work. I'll post it later. Much easier with root and no reason not to root
Ok. How would I do it if I did root? I'm just kinda worried I might mess up the phone.... If I only have a Mac computer can I still root? Thank you.

i know nothing about MAC you'll have to google.
use the app setedit you can download in the play store
use adb to get the proper permissions, if you check the app description in the play store it says the command you need to enter
select global table on the right side and find
force_fsg_nav_bar 1
i'm not sure if the standard value is 0 or 1 cause I already have mine changed. so if its 1 change it to 0. if its 0 change to 1.
you will have to do this everytime you reboot though
much easier and better to root, install magisk and hide with a module. read my tips/tricks thread on what you need to do
Thanks, the setedit app worked great. When I restart the phone, do i just have to go back in to change the value? That would be all I need to do to have it hiding the buttons? Thanks again!

Yes. There is a way to buy the app and it will auto do it when you reboot too. You'll have to try to figure it out
You can hide navbar without root using adb by changing into miui gestures overlay. It works until you reboot your decide, then you have to repeat.
Here's the command:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Hey all:
Vivid Gestures keeps losing accessibility settings, and I need to keep reenabling it.
Does anyone else have this problem and (ideally) some kind of solution.
Thanks
Ok...
Started using Full Screen Gestures, and that seems to work better
You cant use third party launchers then, correct?
Full Screen Gestures is an app, an alternative to Vivid.
It seems to play nicer with the Fold 2.
