[GUIDE][HUAWEI P8][15-4-2016] Xposed Working On Lollipop & Marshmallow - Android General

Good day everyone, this is a guide on how to enable Xposed on EMUI 3.1 (Working tested by me using the deodex method) and EMUI 4.0 (Working tested by me also and confirmed working by @Blackball,). - (Update using the deodex method 10-4-2016)
First of all the original guide for making this work on Huawei roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/general/guide-workaround-running-xposed-t3338765. Ty @mfbcool for your guide and help. Please follow his instructions to the letter for making it work on our device.
- ([15-4-2016] New Instructions on the original thread no need to deodex the rom files, a working xposed zip has been developed for Huawei devices just flash it in twrp and do the build.prop modifications before you flash the zip for your version of rom. Already tested by me)
So my role in this is to highlight all the tips needed for making it work on our device, and the issues i faced when doing it. ([15-4-2016] The original thread is self explanatory, all of the tips here are already mentioned there this thread was created when we needed to deodex the rom files. So forgive me if i am not adding much.)
Notes
- I think a lot of the members were installing the wrong xposed files for our device we need the ARM-64 SoC files for our device because it's using the Kirin 930.
The Tips:
Lollipop:
1. The xposed files needed for your device are under the heading of: on Lollipop 5.0.x is: Xposed for EMUI 3.1 Android 5.0. (If you are on Lollipop 5.1.1 is: Xposed for EMUI 3.1 Android 5.1.1, if Marshmallow: Xposed for EMUI 4.0 Android 6.0)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-workaround-running-xposed-t3338765
2. Make sure that after you install the xposed apk , you go to "build.prop" in /system using any file explorer with root and edit the line "ro.config.hwtheme=1" to "ro.config.hwtheme=0" and then save the file with the defualt permissions or you will get a bootloop. why editing the build.prop is important because without changing this the framework will not be active, you will get a red message saying framework not active. The only way to activate it is by editing this line or in the xposed app go to Settings if you enable "disabled resources hooks" doing that and then restarting will activate the framework but whatever module that uses resources will not work. So the only way working without affecting the modules is editing the build.prop file.
Marshmallow:
1. Make sure to add these lines ro.config.hwtheme=0 and ro.config.hw_theme=0 in build.prop in order for xposed to work and make sure to save the file with the defualt permissions or you will get a bootloop.
If you follow the original guide exactly and the tips you should have no issues making Xposed work.
P.S: By the way first boot may take a while (15+ mins), So don't be afraid.
Special thanks again to @mfbcool for his guide & help, and @pudup for directing me to the guide.

Sent from my HUAWEI GRA-UL00 using XDA-Developers mobile app

Thanks for the guide.

I cant install xposed. When i install it, after reboot i get black screen with only one button of the navigation bar (i can access the shutdown menu from lock key, and i can access and the notification pannel, but nothing more). This is solved when i install the uninstall file.
My phone is already rooted. I firstly installed apk, and then installed xposed via twrp. I've tried to wipe the Dalvik but it doesnt solved.
My p8 is gra-L09, lollipop. Used this files: XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk, xposed-v80-sdk21-arm64.zip, xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64.zip.
What AM i doing wrong?

Did you deodex the rom? you have to deodex in order for xposed to work for Huawei devices, which version of Lollipop are you using?.

I flashed today the C636B320 Marshmallow firmware, and then i deodexed the rom per instructions to make xposed work on Marshmallow.
First attempt i failed because i didn't wait enough, you see the screen will get stuck on Huawei boot animation without any sign that anything is happening(no app update notification card like in Lollipop) for like a 20+ mins. Then voilà the phone booted normally. Also exposed is working fine no issues, make sure to flash xposed-v80-sdk23-arm64.zip instead of the latest one v81 which doesn't seem to work for me.

Xposed on 5.0.1

Has anyone had success installing xposed framework on the m8 running a stock rooted lollipop rom? I have tried multiple times following the guide in the xposed thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 with no success.
It worked for me on adrenaline 2.1 but not on a couple of other roms I tried.

I downloaded the files from the link I posted above..
Install the xposed installer .apk
Reboot from within the installer and grant root privileges.
Flash the framework via TWRP
I have also tried to flash the framework first, install the .apk, and reboot from within the installer to grant root.
Neither way has worked for me.

I have it running on stock rooted, here are the steps I took.
Flashed the xposed arm zip file in TWRP
Installed the 3.0 alpha2 apk
Once installed I went into "framework" and hit soft reboot.
Once the phone was done I installed a module/made it active and soft reboot again.
I don't think you have to take these exact same steps but this is just what I did following a YT video. In "framework" it always says "Installation is only possible maunally via recovery for now." in red letters. That confused me into thinking it was not installed properly but all the modules I'm using are working fine.

I have tried to install this exact same way. After flashing the framework and installing the alpha .apk, I activated greenify and rebooted.
Upon launching greenify, I saw a yellow dialogue box that said auto hibernation service has stopped (auto hibernation worked fine before trying to use xposed) I attempted to enable the xposed features and a screen popped up telling me to install the xposed framework.
I have since restored my nand backup I made before flashing xposed, and greenify is back to auto hibernating, just cant use the xposed features.

Have you tried installing other modules? Looking around the greenify sections here on XDA seems it wasn't ready for 5.0, but there is a beta thread that you may want to take a look at.

Sense 6 Toolbox beta (to find the beta you have to change your settings, open the module in xposed/scroll all the way right to settings/change to "beta")

I reinstalled xposed, and updated greenify to beta 11. I also installed Sense 6 Toolbox beta. Everything seems to be working just fine.
My problem was using modules that were not updated to work with lollipop. Thanks for all your help!

[MOD] Xposed Framework for Mediapad X2

Easy Android ROM Customization Through Xposed Framework
Here is Xposed Framework for the MediaPad X2. This allows for future customization of a lot of different things on our devices. Thanks to kpcheang2 for finding the original page with the download links.
Besides the usual customization we can do with Android launchers and Android widgets, we also love to try new features that available on custom ROMs. But custom ROMs can be unstable and buggy sometimes and the process to flash over to a new ROM is very time-consuming, especially if you need to restore your backup and app settings.
Through Xposed Framework, by just downloading and installing a ready-made module you can make modification (modules) to any element of the OS or the app itself without the need of flashing a new ROM. For example, if you ever need to skip YouTube ads on your android, download the module for that, install, enable and reboot your device for the effect to take place immediately.
Prerequisites:
-Unlocked bootloader
-Rooted
-TWRP Installed
-Be On B106 Or B109
Instructions:
First, install Xposed Installer by opening the apk and hitting install as you would any other app.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5I_q70mNuR4N29ueEwtalBVUE0/view?usp=sharing
Second, boot into TWRP and install the Xposed Framework:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5I_q70mNuR4cThvN2RkU2dOdkE/view?usp=sharing
After rebooting you will have working xposed framework on your phone. Open it up and in settings check "Disabled Resource Hooks" Now reboot once more. Now you need to find modules that work. There are modules for pretty much anything you want done to your phone. The problem is none of them support our X2 yet (or at least none that I've tried) This is just a start as I'm sure there will be modules coming out to support our devices. After installing a module go into Xposed Installer and into Modules and check the Module you want to use in there. Then restart your phone foe the module to take effect.

Thanks ! I plan to try out in a few days after I get myself up to B109.
goes into bootloop
goes into bootloop on stock b109 i had it running fine on kang vip
Bootloop, too
I'm using the 702L with ajsmsg's B109.
--- Edit:
With B106 by guduke also a bootloop
With B109 KangVIP I got the error "framework is installed but not active, please check logs" (these are empty)
Re-Install and/or Restarts takes no effects.
I'm giving up...
---
Please let us know with which configuration/build (whatever) you're able to run xposed. It's much more important for me then a "current" Android build. To ensure the right result, I suggest also to upload all relevant files to get your config.
Many thanks in advance.

Could you be more detailed about which 'resource hooks' are to be disabled? I suspect so my problems with exposed are tied with some settings. I am running B109 KangVIP debloated , but not so heavy as @ajsmsg78's.

You're right.
With deactivated resource hooks option, I can active the framework.
I also activated xprivacy but the module say's only "restart required" ... it doesn't work.
I'm so close to the target .... just one step left.
//Edit: After more installed modules, I was able to activate xprivacy successfully

in the xposed framework app settings you see the option just check it and your good to go
When I had the Ascend mate 2 I had edit the build prop to get xposed to work. I had to change the
" ro.config.hwtheme=2 change the 2 to 0 and reboot
I used apex launcher with that because it disables a few things.
does this work with b110?
I had a bootloop when I tried it, so if anybody already has it working with b100, I'll try it again.
Thanks - Wolfgang

We all have the same problems...
But Huawei's support for internation models are ... not existing. So we all want to upgrade our models to a 703L ROM to get new updates (like announced Android 6) and to improve our phones.
It was a hard and long way to unlocking, rooting and installing of the xposed framework. And I'd say, nobody will also make it possible for the "only-one" user, who wants to stay on a 701L ROM. There are too many restrictions, too many limitations and no further updates from huawei. I really don't see a reason to stay on this ROM. My 702L works fine with the 703L ROM.

BS_FREE_Lollipop_5.0_Rom_BPB1_Based

This is a modified version of @jrkruse stock BPB1 deodexed ROM with all(or most) of the stock BS removed.
INSTRUCTIONS:
I've included the links needed if you want to use xposed. If you chose not to use Xposed, then skip that step in the flashing process.
I have only used Safestrap to install this ROM, but FlashFire should work as well.
1) Flash NO_BS_BPB1_ROM_DEODEXED.zip
2) Flash Extra_toggles.zip
3) Flash xposed-v75-sdk21-arm-arter97-snapdragon.zip
4) Flash Lollipop_Safestrap_Reboot_Extended_PM_PB1.zip
5) Flash BPB1_Firmware_No_Bootloaders.zip
6) After first boot, open Lollipop Recovery Control and install the latest Safestrap.
7) Open up Viper4Android and install the driver. Then install Viper Fix 1.1.apk and run the Viper fix in the app.
There is no need to flash any Viper zips with this ROM. This ROM has all the same apps as BOK3 V5, but obviously updated to the BPB1 apps. The only app added is multiwindow. I don't use multiwindow, so I can be certain that all aspects of it work, but everything seemed to work normally when I played with it.
Note: Don't pay attention to the 1- prefix in front of some of the ROM versions. I prefix all my flashables in my ROM folder with a 1-, 2-, 3-, ect, so that I have them all in order when I flash them instead of having to remember the order every time lol. I forgot to remove those prefixes when I uploaded the ROMs.

Does anyone know what exactly is new/improved in this BPB1? I feel like these versions keep getting released, but I have no idea what is actually improved LOL.

Some apps seen to have a touch recognition problem, like titanium backup. Haven't had any FC errors.

I don't have any of these problems on mine. Does anybody else? It sounds like you guys might have some bad data from a previous ROM. The Play Store was updated in this ROM, so clear data for the Play Store, and that might fix the problem.

Few Questions
First, since I'm pretty new to flashing ROMs with SafeStrap...
At each step of your process when you say "Flash" does that mean Safestrap-> Boot to Recovery ->Install Zip ???
I'm looking at needing Xposed in order to bypass my company's Exchange security requirement of encrypting my device in order to allow email access.
I got a little confused with all the Xposed documentation out there.
Does this set of instructions get me to where I can load the Xposed module to bypass that security and then continue from there?
Big Thanks for your help.
I'm going to start a backup of current ROM so I'll be ready to install this soon.
Regards,
NerdyKowboy

I'm looking at needing Xposed in order to bypass my company's Exchange security requirement of encrypting my device in order to allow email access.
I got a little confused with all the Xposed documentation out there.
Does this set of instructions get me to where I can load the Xposed module to bypass that security and then continue from there?

Yes, flash means install in Safestrap.
If you flash the Xposed zip I linked in the original post, then you can use modules in the Xposed installer app included in the ROM.
CVertigo1 said:

1.) In safestrap, just do wipe->factory reset or is more of a wipe required?
2.) Can I flash them all using the Zip Queue in Safestrap (TWRP 2.7.1.0) or should I do them one at a time?
Factory reset in factory recovery. You can install all of them on one queue.

I did that, and this is AWESOME. Love the ROM. Tough to decide between the two launchers. Haven't had this level of control in a while.
Only snag was that Android Pay doesn't recognize the device as Android authentic, so can't use Android Pay (which I almost never used anyway).
Thanks for all the work @CVertigo1

I believe Android Pay doesn't work sheerly because the device is rooted, not because of the ROM itself.
Can't get snapchat to login with Xposed. I've read the solution is to do an Xposed framework uninstall, login to Snap, then reinstall Xposed, but have found a lot of people get hung in a bootloop when uninstalling.
Is this from using the wrong uninstaller or something else?
Which uninstaller is correct?
Do you have another solution?
I have tried removing the modules and doing a reboot to see if that'd be adequate.
EDIT:
The issue was the xposed framework.
To anyone else doing this on Galaxy S5 with this ROM (or same version of Xposed)
1.) uninstall Snapchat
2.) Deactivate modules from Xposed
3.) Download and Flash "xposed-uninstaller-arter97.zip" from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3113463
4.) Reboot and wait for all the apps to Optimize
5.) Reinstall snapchat and login
6.) Flash the same Xposed framework in original post of this thread (apps will re-optimize)
Is there a way to disable the high volume warning? I can't believe they now also have it on Bluetooth...

Since Xposed is already in the ROM, inside of Xposed, go to Downloads & download the module "NoSafeVolumeWarning". Enable it and reboot.
Boom. No more volume warning.

Yes, that fixed the issue.
Successfully uninstalled Xposed, Reinstalled SnapChat and logged in without issue. Then, reflashed the Xposed framework.
So easy, but I was so nervous doing it after seeing many, many people talking about getting hung in a bootloop.

[Huawei P9 Nougat info/guides]

So I've been getting lots of different questions about how to get this and that on android 7.0 nougat so to make it easier for everyone to find ill create this thread.
1. TWRP
Is twrp available for N? If so where can I find it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/twrp-3-0-2-0-n-t3506947
2. ROOT
Oh cool now I have twrp. So how can I root?
Download phh r275 version and flash
Download and install Material phh apk: Release post
Now you should be good to go. If any issues feel free to ask here or in phh official thread.
3. BUSYBOX
User friendly zip flash this and the below steps isn't needed!
Flashable zip (1.25.1) : https://mega.nz/#!zlRm3S4B!9rAtfi0wI8oFu6xjJITgF0dRwV21UPsxvZQZzMo6VXk
This one is a bit tricky. If you run root. But
Download jrummy's busybox on Gplay.
Select installation folder to /system/xbin or if u don't want to touch system folder use /sbin if available. U can replace jrummy''s busybox with stericsson version if you like it better. But you must have installed jrummys version first if you're booted into android. Else stericsson busybox might have issues installing. Or u can use zips which contains busybox Google busybox flashable.
4. VIPER
More user friendly if using this zip the below steps should only need se Linux mode changer!
Flashable zip: https://mega.nz/#!f8wlzIrB!vVCAv-xqWB8lOrcQTgIyFL0WS7MFsE9iFb08E1YKV2Y
Is quite a mess to get working. You need se Linux mode set to permissive. Flash guitarheroes version of v4a (2.5.0.5) once flashed you need to replace the audio effects in /vendor/etc/audio_effects else you'll get I/O driver installation failed. Copy the .so files to /system/lib and /system/lib64 and set correct permission. If you have wrong busybox message. Try different versions of busybox but I use latest from stericsson and it works great. Hope u get it working.
Oh and don't forget to allow sd storage access or you'll get driver I/O error as well. And se Linux changed to permissive use se Linux mode changer for it. It works great with phh!
5. MAGISK
As it seems to be now. Magisk won't work due to loop issues on boot. And mount seems to have losetup fail 1 on mounting a .img while booted.
6. Xposed
Not yet available. Be patient rovo needs time we can wait for him
7. comes soon.
More stuff.

how does your audio_effects.conf look like? i used one for aosp from "ARISE+Sound+Systems+Deuteronomy+2.3.3.zip" and got it working but don`t know if this is the right one for our device (huawei phones).

It doesn't matter if it's aosp. Since it is for v4a it will work. As long as the audio effects works it doesn't matter.
Also I just finished my hopefully new nougat viper4android zip (i made my own for M with material designed version for my s5 neo) which worked fine until now.
Now it extract all files to its locations even to /vendor partition which all zips I used previously never had. I'll also update busybox zip which previous available is 1.24.2 which I'll bump up to 1.25.1.
I'll also going to upload my stuff to android file host. But that will be later

How did you installed ARISE in Nougat?
I've been trying all day and I'll always end with an I/O or Busybox error. I tried a lot of things, like changing /vendor/etc/audio_effect.conf to audio_effect.conf.bak or installing Busybox into system/bin, but none of them seems to work for me.
I'm on B361 btw. And sorry for answering an old post

Do you know, is your Viper4Android installer compatible with the following rooting/Busybox configuration:
- L09 c432/b378
- TWRP 3.1.0-0
- SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815-EMUI5.0.zip
- Rummy"s BusyBox (installed to /system/xbin)
as described by @hakaz and @Atarii in the post #102 and follow-ups:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71588837&postcount=102
Also, should SELinux really be switched to Permissive mode for V4A to work on P9 with Nougat?
Thanks

Btw, you have P9 Lite - does the method for Magisk apply also to (regular) P9 (single SIM)?

it workes because we have a modded boot.img created by @HassanMirza01, ask him what he did so as to he will do the same for p9 boot.img(or anyone else)
install selinux and set it to permissive, after that install magisk app via playstore and click on autoinstall
no xposed isnt working because there is no xposed for Nougat.

[Xposed] Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime

Installing Xposed Framework for Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime
Doing this may cause your device to be bricked or stuck in a Bootloop, so you're solely responsible for any damage caused to your phone
Downloads :
XposedInstaller.apk : Must be installed to manage installed modules, the framework won't work without it.
Xposed.zip : Must be flashed using a custom recovery, if you don't have one yet check out my thread here to see how to flash CWM recovery.
XposedUninstaller.zip : If you want to uninstall the framework/If you are stuck in a bootloop.
Use Sideload to flash Zip because there's an issue of SDCARD and EXTSDCARD not mounting in CWM Recovery
First boot up your phone into CWM recovery
Go to Install zip update package and select Install zip from sideload
Now connect your android device to your computer
Download this and extract it.
Open command prompt in the ADB folder (mfastboot-v2 folder) by right clicking in the empty space of the folder while holding the Shift key.
Copy the Zip file you want to install on your device to the ADB folder, in this case Xposed.zip.
Run the following command to sideload zip to your phone : adb sideload <filename.Zip>
In this case adb sideload Xposed.zip
Similarly if you want to uninstall the framework flash XposedUninstaller.zip.

The xposed version you have posted above is causing continous bootloop. I installed it on my J7 Prime 610F. Then since being a long time samsung user. i knew that maybe i have to flash xposed framework version made by Wanam for Samsung devices.
So The wanam xposed V86.1 Sdk23 for Arm 32bit works fine and then the phone booted up. better change it to this version in ur above link bro
Thanks for the detailed adb guide as we know still TWRP Touch or drives in CWM are not mounting and one has to use the adb commands. for J7 Prime

so if you have pen-drive (USBotg) you can put your needed *zips
as xposed or other, and simply flash them via twrp
after you mount you usb storage ( tested by me)
maybe also you can use flashify.apk ( I didn't test it )
